Chocolate cake with buttercream frosting
Susie B.

This is the second year my spouse ordered my birthday cake from Cake Crumbs and we're definitely done after this year. The buttercream cream frosting is greasy and heavy like they're using cold butter to make a frosting- definitely not fluffy and creamy. There is also way too much frosting- 1/8" between cake layers is overwhelming. The cake itself is dense but also dry. Finally the cake and the frosting never really come together when you're eating a bite. Definitely moving on next year.

Wow! They made an amazing cake for my event! It looked so great and tasted great too!

Cute spot off a fun little street to walk around. Have a great patio and lots of seating inside, wouldn't have known but it is like a coffee shop and you could def plop down and work awhile. They have a great selection of a variety of things, sandwiches, bowls, breakfast items and of course pastries. I thought the little cakes seemed a little expensive (almost $50!) but maybe for a special occasion. I got a lavender torte and a maple bacon cupcake! The torte was about 70% creamy icing and 30% cake, could have reversed the ratios! Also the cake was a little dry

So grateful to have found Cake Crumbs in Denver, Colorado! I needed to order a cake before our arrival to CO for our son's 30th birthday and Taek was so helpful and accommodating! Delicious & gluten free and so beautiful! Just how I had envisioned! Thank you!! 5 stars!!

This is a poor excuse of a business. We ordered a cake for a surprise party - funfetti with strawberries. Once we got to the party and cut the cake it was red velvet with mixed berries. The opposite of what we ordered. We text with the owner back and forth who assured us we would get a full refund. The text below to prove it. Instead of handling it like he said he would, he told his GM, Brian, to handle it who was useless. He gave us the runaround that because it was just the cake flavor that was wrong he couldn't give us a full refund. And that "store policy" stated that because it was taken off the premises there was "nothing they could do" We spoke to the owner again who back tracked on his words of a full refund. This is horrible customer service and I would avoid using them. I don't know how you can own a business and just lie to your customers.

Ordered my daughters birthday cake, submitted my request online with an image my daughter provided and they did a fantastic job. Ordering from a bakery I've never visited was scary, but I'm happy I chose this bakery. The cake was delicious and my daughter love it. Thanks again for the hard work!

Apple Pie

This has been our go to place to order holiday pies in the past but unfortunately this year we were met with disappointment. In the past, the pies were equally beautiful and delicious and this year... I don't even know what we were given. I honestly was in shock when I picked the pie up. I do know they are under new management & have new bakers but the quality has dropped significantly. I cannot believe I paid $32 for the apple pie I received. As you can see from the pictures the presentation was poor and it really didn't taste good either. I've also popped in a few times for some grab and go over the past few weeks at various times and there are never any baked goods left. The counters are always empty and look picked over. Hopefully things turn around because I am always rooting for a neighborhood spot!

I go to Cake Crumbs for the coffee and pastries. I stay and return often for the sense of community I enjoy there.

Ask the Community - Cake Crumbs Bakery & Cafe

I see all the healthy items on your menu sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes, gluten free, but do you offer a diabetic treat?

Hi Paula! Thank you for your inquiry. We do not offer diabetic options with our sweet treats. I might suggest you try Rheinlander Bakery. Thanks!

Owners Duc Huynh and his wife Dominique moved the concept to Park Hill in 2021 , and what they built here is hard to categorize in the best way. It's a craft coffee shop and boutique plant store in one -- and somehow both sides of that equation feel equally intentional rather than one being an afterthought. The menu leans into lavender lattes, Vietnamese iced coffee, and chai, alongside croissants and breakfast burritos -- a lineup that reflects the shop's AAPI-owned roots and a clear point of view on what coffee can be. The Vietnamese iced coffee in particular earns its reputation: rich, layered, and grounding in a way that a standard cold brew just isn't. The lavender latte is a regular on people's standing orders for good reason. The seating situation is worth noting -- swing chairs and limited spots mean arriving early on weekends pays off. Street parking is the move. Best for solo mornings, slow catch-ups with a friend, or anyone who wants to leave with a new plant and a drink they'll be thinking about on the drive home. Open daily 8am-3pm -- get there before the rush.

The person taking my order was very friendly and welcoming. I got a lavender latte with macadamia nut milk (which I highly recommend) it was nice and creamy and paired well with the lavender. I also got a bonfire burrito, which was also tasty and filling. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the shop, hard not to since it was filled with plants, plant care items, cards, jewelry and fun stickers. Look forward to coming back in the future!

Good coffee with a decent variety (I really like their mocha with chocolate made in-house), lots of tasty teas, and even ample Italian soda options - one my favorite beverages! Passionfruit is my go-to there. They have mugs/glasses if you're staying put for a while; I always appreciate spots that minimize single use plastic. They also offer some baked goods and delicious burritos -- spinach mushroom was . Prices are reasonable for everything on the menu. We haven't gotten any boozey drinks yet, but they offer a good smattering plus kombucha on tap (mmm) and I have a feeling the cocktails will be on point. In addition to selling food and drink, they've got a fun selection of artsy stuff for purchase - from cute cards to baby clothes and even a few good wines. Lots to look at while you're waiting for your order. Lastly, the space is varied and caters to all kinds of customers. The main floor has smaller tables, counter spots and booths, the latter of which are usually claimed. They also have a nice patio space and our personal favorite - a spacious downstairs with differing sized tables that can cater to larger book groups or those wanting to get work done (yes, they have outlets). On the whole, Hooked on Colfax is a gem of a coffee shop that I would recommend and love coming back to
