    Egg Salad Sandwich
    Stefanie C.

Edgewater Public Market has sooo many delicious food and drink spots, and Black Box Bakery is now one of my favorites! I'm rarely here on the weekends or during weekdays (which is when they're open) but finally made it out with a friend who happened to be in town. It's a small shop where the line can get long for good reason. We both ordered a ton of pastries, as well as the last Egg Salad Sandwich they had available. The BEST Egg Salad Sandwich I've ever had for sure. I still dream about it. Loved all the unique pastries as well. They're even on display so you have plenty of time to decide what you want. Ideally get here early before they run out of what's popular!

Absolutely phenomenal! We got soooo many to try and each flavor is completely stand alone and amazing. The savory options are super complex and delicious. The sweet options aren't too sweet which I was a huge fan of. My friend and I spent the entire time spewing "oh my god"s and "holy sh*t"s because of how good every single item was. This is 28 minutes from my house so to say confidently that I will come back again is a huge compliment.

I got a cinnamon roll and an almond croissant. The cinnamon roll was pretty good but the almond croissant definitely stole the show. Sells out quick and be prepared to wait in line!

Yum! I finally got to try this bakery!! Been on our list for a while. Of course the boyfriend wanted donuts but they did not have any which is fine there were other option mostly pastries. I got the buttery croissant and the cinnamon roll. This bakery is location in the edgewater public market. And like were long but it moved fairly fast. Both pastries was so good but let me let ya it's messy

Our favorites are the Orange Jasmin croissant and the starships.

Truly the best bakery in CO. We drive up from Colorado Springs to come here specifically. We've been to so many bakeries in CO and we keep coming back to Black box for the fun flavor and inventive combinations of their croissants. Service is always quick and friendly. It's located in Edgewater market place and there is usually plenty of parking. Love browsing through the little shops inside edgewater as well.

Worth the calories and our new gold standard for pastries We were visiting Colorado from Sacramento for a Red Rocks show and decided to explore the local food scene. Back home we're loyal to Faria Bakery, so we were curious to see how Colorado's best compared. My girlfriend found Black Box Bakery on Yelp, and we figured we'd stop by for breakfast. That first morning sealed it. We ended up going back every other day of our trip. Between the two of us, we tried six different pastries, and not a single one missed. Every croissant was perfectly laminated with crisp layers, light air pockets, and buttery flavor. The fillings were balanced...never overly sweet, always flavorful. Our absolute favorite was the orange jasmine swirl, but honestly, every pastry stood on its own. On our last day we couldn't resist bringing back eight more pastries to take home so our foodie friends could experience them too. The staff were incredibly helpful in providing guidance on which of the remaining pastries should make the cut. I'm so happy I also got to try their Chocolate Chip cookie (not something I would've picked!) Don't tell Faria, but we might actually like Black Box Bakery more.

I tried ordering the evening before, but their store must have to be opened to order anything since everything was pretty much sold out. Stopped by Tuesday morning around 10am and I love their table with all the pastries displayed! Tried the following: -- Pride Croissant - earl grey with fruity pebbles (they said it was like a cereal milk and they were right!) -- Pink Pony cube croissant - wow. So good filled with elderflower English cream and strawberry jam -- Strawberry Milk Croissant - got this frozen since it was the only item of the 3 that could be brought like this (there were also others that could be purchased frozen). Appreciated they vacuum sealed the croissant and they gave a massive pastry pipping bag of the filling, but unfortunately, I had to toss the filling bag going through airport security

Overall rating: 5/5 Came around 11am on a Wednesday and waited a few minutes before my order was taken. I very much appreciated how Black Box has a large display of pastries with labels so you can really see what you're ordering. The servers were also really friendly and efficient. I came with a party of 4 and we waited about 5 minutes for our order to be prepared. Black box is located in a food hall with a bunch of other shops and restaurants. It was quiet when we went but I can imagine how this place can get packed later on for dinner and on the weekends. There's plenty of parking and the restrooms were clean. My group order: -malted chocolate kouign-amann (4.5/5) -triple chocolate twice baked croissant (5/5) -strawberry milk croissant (5/5)* -apricot cream croissant (5/5)* -almond croissant (5/5)* -mini-croissant cube - passion fruit cheesecake (5/5) -sausage roll (4.5/5) -ham and cheese pretzel (5/5)* The pastries were all really good so you can't really go wrong. * = what I would get again Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Black Box and would recommend checking this place out!

Returned to try some of the pastries and was not disappointed! They have classics which are always on the menu as well as rotating specials (both sweet and savory). The variety made it difficult to choose, but I ended up with a pretzel ham and cheese croissant, a strawberry milk croissant, and the garlic UAP. All were 10/10 delicious. The croissants were buttery, light, and flaky. The strawberry croissant had an amazing strawberry yogurt cremeux filling that was not too sweet or heavy, but complemented the pastry perfectly. The garlic UAP is another must-order. It is a fluffy, soft bun stuffed with garlic cream cheese and is an amazing rendition of garlic bread. They can have quite a line on the weekends, so I would recommend ordering online for pickup at their outdoor window if you know what you want to order.

Purposely was looking for a bakery on a Saturday morning, and it brought us to black box bakery relocated at the Edgewater market. It was easy to find because they also have a window to the outside for service, but I don't think it was open at the time so it was OK because we went inside and got to discover everything else at the market. We got in line at the bakery, and I have to say the man who helped us was so friendly and patient and super helpful. He even sold us on their version of a Coffee slushy, which by the way was absolutely delicious because it truly tasted like coffee and not like sugar. The menu of this place is the sample food items out on a table right in front of the cash register. I don't think they're edible. They're purely pieces of art, and when you order these items, they literally look like the display. The strawberry cream croissant was out of this damn world. This was absolutely ridiculously amazing that I devoured it, which I do not normally do with any croissant. But this was incredible!!! We also got the honey koign aman at the recommendation of the gentlemen at the register because they do have different flavors of this. My mom enjoyed this incredibly and she is a connoisseur of koign aman. I have to come back to this place and I wish this place was located in Chicago because it would really give some of the bakeries here a run for their money !!!!

Black Box Bakery has always lot's of delicious items. They make all their baked goods fresh. It's one of my favorite bakeries in the denver metro area. During the week the options are a bit limited. So it's best to go on the weekends when they have to most to choose from. But most likely you will find their a huge waiting line as well.

Made a stop after church on Sunday, what a delight! This little spot tucked in the Edgewater Public Market is an absolute treasure. Even with a daunting line, the service was speedy and friendly! These croissant creations are out of this world, we chose the Cannoli Comet and the Passionfruit Cheesecake, which were equally divine and satisfying. 10/10 would recommend, and will be adding into our regular rotation of treats! P.S. The Astro fuel latte is a must have, very rich.

    Pizza focaccia
    Lesley M.

Black Box Bakery was the perfect place for a quick, easy, and DELICIOUS breakfast! It is in a food hall in Edgewater with several other businesses and restaurants. The store front is very inviting with a "physical menu" - a bar with all the pastries laid out in plain sight! There were so many enticing options that it was almost impossible to choose. They had everything from sweet delicacies to savory bites. Since I was having a hard time choosing, I ordered several things! I chose the pretzel ham & cheese croissant, the pizza focaccia bread, and the monkey bread croffin. I know, ambitious, but I shared with my sister and brother-in-law! I also ordered a vanilla bean lemonade. Service was super friendly and prompt. Jacob answered all my questions, gave me great suggestions, and was an amazing presence in the store! I got my food and drink quickly. We sat down to eat inside. I started with the pizza focaccia which was HUGE! It was so big that the four of us shared it, each coming away with a substantial chunk of tasty bread covered in tomato sauce and yummy cheese. Then, I moved on to the pretzel ham & cheese croissant, which was also very good. I had never had a pretzel croissant before! I was so full after eating my savory selections that I saved the monkey bread for later (which was a perfect snack after my hike). The vanilla bean lemonade was refreshing and the vanilla cut the tartness of the lemonade, making it a bit more sweet - a must try, in my opinion! My sister, brother-in-law, and buddy all ordered different items and each of us was super happy with our order, meaning, I don't think you can go wrong at Black Box Bakery! I will definitely visit again on my next trip to CO. Note: My advice is to get there early! We arrived just after opening and only had a short wait, but by the time we were finished eating the line was wrapped around the corner.

I tried the hot and read buffalo chicken sandwich, and the pork green chile. I thought both were good. Definitely more emphasis on the bread in these than you would get somewhere else, but that is to be expected with it being a pie shop. I liked the pork a little bit more. They were more filling than I expected but also I didn't think about how much bread there was until after. Also got the key lime pie for dessert later in the day which I loved. Good amount of whipped cream, and had great flavor. Not too crumbly on the crust either. And finally I did get the take and bake chicken pot pie. Which I thought was excellent. Fair value for the size, I think. The large got me 3 meals but probably could have stretched it to 4. But it was so good that I just kept eating more. Had good amounts of chicken in it and good ratio with the veggies. I would definitely return here. Would definitely get the pot pies and key lime pie again. I wouldn't go out of my way to get them, but if I was in the area and needing something quick and easy to eat, I would get 1 of the hot and ready sandwiches too - I thought they were fairly priced too.

This time around, I left impressed. We were in Downtown to see Hell's Kitchen and I decided to bring my partner here since he's never been. This time, I ordered the ube jasmine sweet cream drink because it didn't look too powdery and artificial (the light purple color spoke to me). We also ordered the black sesame drink and both drinks were quite delicious and definitely worth the drive for the drinks (or at least the 14 min walk from the entertainment venues to here for a pick me up before the shows). They're not too sweet and I'm glad that they don't overload the drink with ice because I've been to some places where you get 90% ice.
