FOOD: the menu is a curated selection of dishes from around the world. Everything we tried was delicious. And everything is vegan! I especially enjoyed the beet curry and bonjee, both of which had a coconut curry base and were fresh, light, and wholesome. The Sri Lankan katarica (eggplant) was saucy and satisfying. The mushroom mole was not my favorite, but others at the table said it was theirs. DRINKS: infused water is self service and delightful, and the espresso drinks are top tier! One of the best iced lattes I've had recently. PLANTS: the ambiance of the shop is LOVELY, drenched in light and filled with beautiful plants that you can take home. We left with 3! I don't find myself in the Bronx that often, but I will now to return to Mae Mae

I've been walking by for a few months, not knowing they were actually opened (new apartments are going up all around the area) but I went in one day after an intense gym class and when I say the location is beautiful ! If you love plants, great food and a really great staff, you definitely need to come and visit. So far I've had 1/2 the menu and everything has been amazing. All planted based, and all delicious.

Cutest little spot ever! I love that you can literally buy like every plant in there. They have a wide variety of plants and are very knowledgeable of how to care for them. There is a great amount of light that enters the space so if you don't feel like being cramped at home while working you can definitely do so here. Also the Not egg wrap is awesome, small but super tasty! AND THEY HAVE DRINKS

Stumbled upon this coffee shop & I will absolutely be back. A concept shop mixing plants + coffee. What could be better!? Admittedly, I've not been the best with keeping plants alive but the fact that this spot is in my neighborhood is just too good to be true. Plus, the food is deelish! I had the vegan breakfast wrap and it was deelish. Last & absolutely not least, the customer service is *chef's kiss*. Both Elijah and Ms. Colleen truly made my day with their kindness. I'll be back!

Food was incredible not just your run of the mill vegan food. You can feel the plant based vibe from the layout. Prices are great, can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. Hidden gem .

Read on if you desire genuine knowledge and only dine out with intention. First, and most importantly, shouts to Myles and the team working this day. The salmon in my Jerk Salmon Bowl and my friend's Atlantic Salmon Bowl was flaky, tender, juicy, and perfect. The rices (white with Jerk, black forbidden with Atlantic) confirmed and celebrated what Chef JJ Johnson wrote in his must-have book The History of Rice. This is to say there is no rice like FIELDTRIP rice: soft, sturdy, sweet, savory, herby, attaches to sauce and protein and vegetables when you want it to, remains on its own when you simply want to enjoy it by itself. The plantains and greens that accompany are ridonkulous icing on the salmon sundae. If you aren't a fan of Brussels sprouts, you likely have good reasons. And, you owe it to yourself to order Crispy Brussels. Besides being cooked so they are toothsome, textured, and still sweet, they're quartered or sixthed, which makes them easier to enjoy and perfect carriers for the crispy bits that top them. I love oxtail. To enjoy this rarely served beef element in a perfectly wrapped and fried egg roll added to my adoration. After bite one, I literally unwrapped my half to see how the shredded meat was coexisting. No saucing was necessary, though the Avocado Cilantro and New Jack Sticky BBQ (both of which were enjoyed by me via spoon) would have enhanced the roll most righteously. Lastly, when you dine in or take away from FIELDTRIP, you need Nana's Bread. It is what you might enjoy if a freshly made flour tortilla, naan, pita, and focaccia met, joined, and were put through a presser. I would dip and dredge Nana's Bread in everything. Your next meal needs to come from FIELDTRIP. Period.

This place was literally a two-minute walk from my aunt's house. The inside was nice and spacious with plenty of seating. I decided to take my order to go. I got the oxtail egg roll and the mambo-glazed roast chicken bowl. The egg roll was not as good as I anticipated. It was missing something, and I can't quite identify what that something was. The bowl did not disappoint, I really enjoyed it! Those crispy Brussels sprouts were the highlight of the bowl! I'll most definitely go back and highly recommend it.

They take pride in their restaurant's offerings, as they should. My server was wonderful, offering suggestions to this first-timer. I started with a Volcano Roll - hearts of palm substituting for fish. Well balanced and delicious. Next was broccoli "beef" - fresh broccoli and shitake "steak" with mushrooms really balanced the dish. I ended with something so unnecessary and so wonderful, I'm glad I did it: The sticky toffee pudding. Just pure delight. It was relatively quiet when I was there. I could see how it could get a bit noisy if it were crowded. But even so, the people who visit are friendly and I ended up having a great conversation with the table next to me. I'll be back. I'm not exactly local, but it's definitely worth the trip! Planta is on my faves list now!

I am not vegan. If it weren't for our friends who are, and having eaten already at the kopino fest,…read morewe probably would not have gone. Funny enough, we met our only other vegan friend there. So, from the vegan perspective, this is a popular and tasty place. We started with drinks, being lunchtime, we opted for non alcoholic drinks, the matcha colada and the salty maple macchiato. The matcha colada had a nice color but tasted mostly like coconut and pineapple which was still yummy. Friends ordered 3 different kinds of sushi and dan dan noodles with tofu. I was confused with the sushi as I thought vegans didn't eat fish...so yes I asked and was told that they probably made the "fish" with tapioca. I did try a bite of each roll (I was still full from the fest) and I was surprised that it tasted pretty good. They did a nice job with the roll and presentation. The matcha cheesecake was nice and creamy. I would not have known it was vegan. I don't normally like food that pretends to be something else because it usually doesn't live up to the real thing. The idea is that it is not pretending to be something but rather substituting with vegan options, I do think from a health perspective, I am more open to trying more vegan foods. Ambiance felt upscale and wait staff were helpful and congenial. I hear dinner time gets packed here. I may have to try again when I have not eaten already.

Somehow, they were able to approximate the flavor and texture of crab with a combination of chickpeas, artichokes, hearts of palm and panko. Very well prepared and tasty. The roasted brussel sprouts were "fine". The menu says they are prepared with a citrus balsamic reduction. No one was very impressed with these. The Colombian potato soup was flavorful and we all enjoyed that. The broth was not very hot (temperature-wise), which was a disappointment. We ordered soup because it was a very cold day and were looking forward to a hot soup. Of the appetizers we shared, we agreed that the crabby cakes were the strongest of the three. The brussel sprouts none of us would get again. They were essentially a small bowl of brussel sprouts with no special characteristic flavor. The entrees were all a big success. I loved my PS Lasagna. It tasted like a meat lasagna in a very flavorful and very nicely seasoned marinara. It was outstanding. And a very nice portion. The Chicken Pot Pie was delicious also. The crust was flaky, with lots of pieces of "chicken". Could have used more peas and carrots. But a very flavorful dish that is an excellent example of how comfort food can be made in vegan style. The chicken Caesar wrap was enormous and delicious. The service here was excellent. We were well-attended to, especially with respect to filling of water glasses. We had a reservation and arrived over a half hour early, but they were able to take us right away. When we were done, we did notice a long line of people waiting to get in, so we couldn't linger. The restaurant has a nice, comfortable atmosphere. It's a bit dark, though. Staff were attentive.

There was a cozy atmosphere to the place. We decided to share the Steak Marsala, Chicken Pot Pie, and Truffle Fries. The Steak Marsala truly resembled steak, and my friend actually thought it was real steak meat. I could definitely discern the difference though. It was tender, well seasoned, covered in a savory, tasty mushroomy Marsala sauce, with plenty of mashed potatoes topped with mushroom and garlic spinach on the side. Truffle Fries were perfectly crispy with strong truffle flavor, dusted with herby spices. The Chicken Pot Pie looked pretty good with spices and rosemary on top. The crust was satisfyingly crisp, flaky, buttery, while the inside was a mixture of chicken substitute, peas, carrots. However, the filling wasn't thick enough for me, and I think the addition of potatoes would have made it much better. Service was lovely. Our waiter was welcoming and knowledgeable about the offerings. Prices were decent for the area. Menu was creative, especially given that it is all plant based. We enjoyed our time here! I probably won't be back for a while, as I like meat too much, but a solid choice for vegans and vegetarians!

So good. For my "second visit" (aka my takeout order five minutes later), I swapped the coconut rice for the cold quinoa and bean salad -- also delicious. The second bowl had fewer mushrooms, but they weren't the headliner for me anyway. The true stars? The black beans, pickled onions, and that dreamy butternut cashew cheese. I would like to formally thank whoever invented that combination. But the real reason I'll keep coming back to this restaurant anytime I am anywhere near this neighborhood? The Matcha Latte. I had it iced with my meal -- so good even the melted ice tasted fancy. Then I had it hot with a Chunk Chocolate Cookie which is dangerously delicious but that hot matcha was rich, smooth, and absolutely scrumptious. I even went online afterward to hunt for the Matcha recipe in her cookbooks (turns out there's a lot of matcha desserts, which may or may not be a problem for future me). Bottom line: I will absolutely be back -- probably "just for a matcha"... and somehow leave with a cookie again.

That said, I actually appreciated the photos of each menu item--it made ordering easier and faster. Now, the food. Hands down, this was the best Mediterranean food I've had in the U.S. We ordered the chicken shawarma tacos and a side of falafel. The falafel was soft on the inside (not dry at all) and crispy on the outside, sitting in a bed of the smoothest tahini cream I've ever tasted--and I don't even like tahini. The chicken was incredibly flavorful, and every bite actually had chicken. No skimping on the protein here. The pita pocket was small but soft and fresh, not dry. Best part: the chicken taco came with small sides of hummus, baba ganoush, creamed tahini, and finely chopped tomatoes and cucumbers. Boom. Every single element was delicious. One downside: there's only one restroom, it's small, and while it's tastefully decorated, it could have used a bit more attention. Would I go back? 100% yes. I honestly wish I could teleport this place back home with me so I could become a regular.

The cauliflower mushroom dish was also really unique but my favorite dish of the night was Buddha jumps over the wall. The dry ice presentation was stunning.
