This place is wonderful, I have been coming for years. I discovered it 8 years ago when I ventured in with my son on Sunday for brunch, the rest has been history in the making. I have returned here numerous times with family, friends and have recommended it to others. If you happen to be looking for a quint space to have brunch on this place should be in your top choices. Food is fresh and delicious. The wait staff is friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is great for meet up or solo dining. The decor is very homelike with a feel of small museum displays vibe. All to say make the trip and try it for yourself.... read more

I came here for a holiday party last year and for brunch previously. Both times were very pleasant experiences. The service was quick and friendly. The decor was very rustic and chic. Perfect for a date or a private party in their back space. The food was very pretty tasty, especially the coconut dessert that we got. Overall, I would recommend dining at Pisstici if you are looking for a cute dinner date spot or a group dinner with friends. read more

I got take out at Pisticci, and it was great! When I came inside, a kind worker greeted me and helped me grab my order. Inside did look very comfortable with lots of seating and a warm atmosphere. When I got back, I was very pleased to see how well they packaged my pasta. I got a lunch fettuccine mushroom with meatballs and it was delicious. The pasta was tender and the sauce was flavorful with umami. I am normally not a pasta lover, but I liked this one! The meatballs were also juicy and paired well with the pasta. Generous portions for a lunch meal, and I would come back for more! read more

Always a hit. Solid, consistent, everything on the menu is good, service is always on point, diverse staff. I mostly go for boozy brunch with girlfriends, but also frequently choose it for lunch or dinner with friends visiting from out of town. Cocktails are fantastic. I almost always get anything with grapefruit in it, like the grapefruit martini or their brunch cocktail which i can't remember the name of ever. The lemon ricotta pancakes are an absolute must. And we usually get at least one side of bacon and a side of sausage for the table. And we sometimes share 2-3 desserts. Love love love. read more

Had a really lovely brunch at Pisticchi with family recently. We had a larger group and a toddler, so it was nice that we could be accommodated on a Saturday afternoon! The ambiance is adorable. Very cozy and warm! The service was prompt and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was portioned generously, and the prices were extremely reasonable! I enjoyed the roasted pumpkin salad with poached eggs added, and everyone loved the ouvo contadine dish. I recommend for a beautiful and filling meal if you're in Morningside Heights or adjacent to Columbia/East Harlem! read more

We came here for the lemon ricotta pancakes, just to find that they were a bit underwhelming. Not bad just not what I expected. We also ordered the french toast which was phenomenal and made me wish that I had ordered that instead. The service was good.Everyone was friendly in the environment was clean. Charming Italian spot near Columbia! Came here twice-- once for lunch and once for dinner. Service was fast and extremely friendly. - Rigatoni: 10/10 (addicting vodka sauce and the pasta was cooked well) - Mussels: 9/10 (decent mussels in white wine sauce) - Ragu: 8/10 (had the pasta special for lunch and it was ok) - Passion fruit sorbet: 5/10 (artificial) read more

super charming and chic italian eatery on the upper west side, perfect for a date night. servers were friendly (just a little on the slower end), and seems like a popular place for college kids and a younger crowd. portions are super generous -- the special i had gotten had a savory and umami sauce with tender pieces of skirt steak, and my boyfriend's polenta and meatballs tasted classic and comforting. would love to come back and explore the rest of the menu. read more

Tasty! Good food, fair prices and great staff. We loved it- near Columbia University.

Friends who just moved into the Morningside neighborhood of Manhattan brought me here today for brunch. Very cute little place in the very bottom of a building. Very friendly service. Can't remember servers name, but she's in the picture. Super sweet. I ordered the spaghetti with vegan meatballs and the spaghetti was perfectly cooked and oh those meatballs were really really good! Other friend ordered same with regular meatballs and his wife ordered the three egg omelette. We had bread with olive oil. We ordered one espresso and two cappuccinos. For desert, we shared the tiramisu. Everything was delicious! I won't be in this part of manhatttan often so I won't be able to enjoy this place much and try their other entrees, but for the first time, excellent and can't wait until I can return to try dinner entrees. read more

Absolutely the best service in the city. I ordered a complete dinner but it was delivered to the wrong address. The staff prepared another order and sent it out immediately. Above and beyond service. Cozy neighborhood Italian with amazing pasta Pisticci is such a charming spot -- warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and truly excellent food. The pasta dishes are the highlight: perfectly cooked, rich sauces, and generous portions that taste homemade and comforting. We tried one of the classic red-sauce pastas topped with fresh herbs, and it was absolutely packed with flavor -- simple ingredients done really well. The dining room has that intimate, relaxed vibe that's perfect for a casual date night or easy dinner with friends. Service was attentive without being rushed, and the team was happy to help with menu suggestions. If you're looking for authentic, satisfying Italian with a cozy neighborhood feel, Pisticci is a fantastic choice. Definitely worth returning to try more of the menu -- especially brunch next time. read more

Attended an engagement party on the evening of Oct 25 at Pisticci. I was extremely impressed with all aspects of the dining experience. Large parties are a challenge to any restaurant, and not only did Pisticci have a full Saturday dining clientele, there were TWO parties going on as well that night. That said, the food was still of the fine quality and nice sized portions I've previously experienced over my past 4 years of dining there. The biggest shout out though has to go to our amazing server Grace. She was so friendly, courteous and attentive. From meeting the needs of the youngest member of our party with a prompt meatball sans sauce request, to keeping the various drink and wine orders flowing after dinner, Grace did an outstanding job! read more

When I think of visiting NYC, I think of great Jewish deli's and neighborhood Italian trattorias. While most of the former are gone - thank goodness for the later - you know the small cozy places that bring you back in time or transport you to a small street in Sienna. Pisticci hits the mark big-time! Quaint, unassuming, welcoming- you feel like you are home. Local art fills the walls ( many of the staff are artists) and the dining space is intimate. The menu, while straightforward, is filled with delicious choices. There are no bad choices here. Daily specials will tempt you for sure. Start anywhere, make sure you get a pasta dish ( cooked perfectly), and whatever you do save room for the coconut cake ( made in house ). It is like none you've ever tasted! Love this place. Th service here is excellent, there all well educated and super nice. I always see the employees at some point t sitting down to and enjoying a nice meal. There were 7 of us. First time sitting in the back room. This place have 3 bars, a beautiful outdoor decks and 3 separate dining areas. For appetizers we had the mussels, great sauce, but wasn't living the mussels, a insalada mista, insalada pisticci, yummy pancetta, and a Barrata. Also someone had the spaghetti al pomodoro, quite good too. For entrees we had the rigatoni ala vodka, 1 plain, 1 with meatballs, and 1 with sausage, I had the sausage and loved it. We also had the orecchiette with broccoli rave and sausage, the Fettuccine al funghi, my wife's favorite dish , but she substitutes the pasta to a rigatoni. My daughter had the maltaiati with ricotta, spinach and lamb, delicious. All the pastas were fresh and cooked to perfection. I did say our waitress, the actress, was terrific as well. We drank too much so our bill was not inexpensive. read more

Typically obnoxious Italian restaurant service (waiters coming every 2 minutes to refill your glass, upsell, or clear your table when the place is practically empty). But the food here really is a cut above, and the ambience is pleasant without being pretentious. Pisticci penne was perfectly cooked, al dente without being crunchy, and just the right amount of tomato and oil. Gelatos were delicious - pistachio blandness was more than compensated for by the delicious pieces throughout, and the fig gelato was insanely great. read more

Food. I ordered the best salad they used canned beets. Yuck My friend had a salad and they forgot to put dressing on and it took forever for them to get Someone bring a bit of oil to dress the salad We ordered the coconut cake it was smaller than previous times and bad. This is a long-standing local business and I had to try it out. I called ahead of time (Friday at about 5PM) to ask if they had any space for a table of 3 outside and that we were on our way-- the prissiness level of the hostess was unmatched. In any case, we got there and all the outdoor seating/tables were empty and available (we were just told we had a two hour time limit). The waitress was great and the menu had good options. The dishes were a bit on the heavy side but, hey, it's an Italian menu. I would recommend perhaps splitting the kale salad as an appetizer amongst the table then having your pasta dishes. Would come back but would likely just eat very light throughout the day prior to coming here. read more

Food 7/10 Genuinely quite impressed by the lunch pasta menu. Ordered the rigatoni alla vodka, and it was better than I expected. Super creamy and rich. Very large portions, extremely filling, and not so bad at all. A solid Italian spot in the neighborhood, would return to try some other pastas. Pricing is relatively okay for New York, but obviously that's not saying much because it's New York. Atmosphere 7/10 Cute little spot with plenty of seating, more than I expected when observing the outside. Service 7/10 Nice server, good stuff. read more

I've been to Pisticci twice before, once for dinner and once for brunch, and while their dinner was good, I found their brunch to be underwhelming. Most recently, however, I came back for a large holiday party hosted by my partner's work and I will say I was a lot more impressed this time than on my prior two occasions. We were a pretty large group of around 20 or so and they sat us in a long table in a private room at the back so we had the space to ourselves. The ambiance was very nice, dimly lit, quiet, and felt really intimate and cozy. They had a set menu for us to choose an app, an entree, and dessert from. Service was really excellent and organized although a little slow but they made sure to bring out all our drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts at once which is probably why it took a little longer. They had a variety of options for apps: salad, garlic bread, or caponata; for entrees: rigatoni alla vodka, grilled salmon, and steak; for dessert: chocolate mousse or sorbet (raspberry and passion fruit). I ordered a glass of Chardonnay which came cold and was very delicious and refreshing. For food I got: Caponata: very substantial appetizer which I did not take a photo of but came with a very hearty stew of eggplant, tomatoes, and other veggies like olives, celery, etc (this is the caponata), and was topped with a generous amount of burrata. In addition there was a nice very toasted piece of buttered bread to eat it with. I appreciated the amount of caponata that was served and also really loved the flavor of it since it was very rich from all the vegetables, with perfect hints of sweetness, acidity, and earthiness. The burrata was creamy so it balanced everything out nicely. I only wish they had given me an additional piece of bread to eat it with! Grilled Salmon: I've only gotten pasta here before but after ordering this dish, I realized I had been doing it wrong. The salmon was very flavorful, tender, and flaky. Perfectly cooked! It came with some cooked potatoes which were soft and also very delicious as well as some broccoli rabe which added an extra savory punch. I added some of the lemon which came on the side and this was also delicious. Chocolate Mousse: one of the best chocolate mousses I've had. Everyone in the table agreed it definitely felt too dense and thick to be a mousse but we all loved it. Not too sweet on its own and either a very rich chocolate flavor. Perfectly balanced by the slightly sweet whipped cream and the tart raspberries. Will definitely be coming back for one of these alone. I thought the staff handled a big party really well. They were really amicable, attentive to our needs, and got all our orders right. The space is very nice and does lend itself for larger private events. The food was delicious and everyone left very happy with their meals! The prices a la carte are reasonable but I'm not sure about the larger groups since I was only a guest but I will definitely keep this place in mind if I ever have to host something large. Would be perfect for a work, graduation, birthday, or engagement party! Would recommend! read more

So I'm up here in the Morningside Heights section. I'm early for picking up an associate so I've managed to park right in front! This restaurant has a delightful upbeat look! The young lady at the desk has managed to find me a nice large table in the middle of the room. Looks like there are a few dining areas. All very appealing with brick or stone walls. The crowd is very eclectic. Professionals, some neighborhood people and generally younger millennials I am impressed with a good number of people for a Tuesday night. A lot of vibrant conversation going on. This is a come back spot!! read more

Charming, romantic, delicioso. Celebrate, enjoy, indulge. Classic, casual, neighborhood favorite.

Oh, Pisticci. I am so grateful I live 2 minutes away from what I consider heaven on earth. I have only gotten takeout from this restaurant, but they absolutely DELIVER on the quality every time. Forget the overhyped TikTok restaurants, Pisticci, to me, is incomparable. For transparency, not every dish I rank below is absolutely perfect, but I have not had one meal so bad that I disliked it. My rankings range from absolute perfection to this was okay. First off, the Fettuccine al Funghi... oh my gosh. This is on another tier. The fettuccine noodles are always cooked al dente, and the sauce is delightful. I always pay $4 extra for the truffle oil, and this really elevates the dish to the next level. This dish is plate-licking clean, and if you are a mushroom fan like me, this is the pasta for you. My absolute favorite. When I'm in a meaty or tomato sauce mood, I opt for the Maltagliati with Ricotta, Spinach and Lamb. This, as someone else described it, is like a deconstructed lasagna. I especially love it when I get a bite of the ricotta, just so creamy. I will note, however, on my most recent order of this dish, they may have forgotten the tomato sauce? Because when I opened up my order, the pasta was totally drenched in brown from the lamb, in comparison to the previous times I have had it. It was still good, but one, it didn't look very appetizing, and two, it was too meaty without the tomatoes to complement. In the times I felt like venturing away from my beloved Fettuccine I have tried the Rigatoni alla Vodka, Tuscan Bean Ravioli, and Cavatelli Broccoli e Portobello once each. The Rigatoni was a solid basic dish! For the Ravioli and the Cavatelli, however, I couldn't help but regret not ordering the Fettuccine. These weren't bad, but the Fettuccine truly is THE best. The Ravioli was okay, guess I'm not a white bean fan. I really enjoyed the creamy tomato sauce it was in, so if you order this, make sure to get a side of bread with it for dipping. I recently tried the Cavatelli tonight, and while I liked it, I learned I'm not a fan of cavatelli pasta. I probably would have liked it more if it was with penne. I also wish the portobello mushrooms were sliced into smaller pieces to be integrated throughout the pasta. Next, desserts. I have tried two - the Coconut Cake and the Chocolate Mousse. The Coconut Cake goes insaaaaane. One of the best slices of cake I've ever had, 100%. I can't help but order this every time I place my takeout order. Just absolutely sumptuous. Chocolate Mousse is good, but the portions are ridiculously small for $9. For your $'s worth, you're better off with the Coconut Cake, but maybe the Mousse's portions are bigger in person. All in all, I adore Pisticci, and I do hope I'll sit down and experience the actual restaurant itself at some point, especially since I know they have jazz Sundays! read more

I've known about Pisticci for a while, but I actually haven't had the chance to pay them a visit. X and his best friend both went to Columbia and I know of Pisticci as their date spot or their take your visiting parents spot. When I found out that the in-laws had a show at the Manhattan School of Music, I immediately thought of Pisticci. I made reservations a month in advance and it was a good thing that we did because they were jam packed with other conference attendees up at the MSM. I split a hummus and grilled veggies platter with X and it was delightful. For mains, I had their Malitagliati with Ricotta, Spinach and Lamb - slow cooked lamb ragu over flat noodles with baby spinach and a dollop of ricotta. This was absolutely fantastic. X had the Mushroom Fettuccine - homemade fettuccine tossed with a trio of warm, earthy mushrooms. He loved his dish. We were too full for dessert, but we all had drinks with dinner. Their cocktails are lovely. Service was attentive and efficient. We had an excellent meal and honestly, I can see why it was such a favorite spot for X and his best friend back in their college days. read more

Our waitress was lovely, the vibes were also great. The food however was mid at best. We ordered the steak and eggs, breakfast carbonara, uovo contadine, lemon ricotta pancakes as well as an espresso martini and a carafe of the Bellini. My favorite dish was by far the uovo contadine but I felt like I could make it at home. Honestly everything I tried felt like something I could make at home. There was no wow factor. The lemon ricotta pancakes were also solid but nothing special. The least appetizing dish was 100% the steak and eggs. It was the tiniest little steak you'll ever see. We ordered it medium rare and it was RAW (in a Gordan Ramsey voice). Breakfast carbonara was fine I guess, but needed salt. I understand now this place is meant for dinner. I would like to try dinner but only if someone else suggested it. Would probably not go back on my own. If I lived next to it I would go all the time, but I don't so probably won't go back.
