Authentic, and delicious. I had a Chile Relleno, and Borracho beans. I think the relleno was pan fried, not deep fried. Salsa and chips were fresh and made in house. Service was excellent, although I came in when they opened. I will be back. read more

Just moved to the Forney area from Dallas and happened to see this place next to the grocery store shopping center. It wasn't really what I expected it to look like inside but the food smelled really good and the waitress was very friendly. The menu was pretty extensive so they had a lot to choose from, but I was looking for good tacos for my wife and nachos for myself, so I placed an order to go. My order came out surprisingly fast and I was on my way! Ok, let's start with the positive, the salsa was actually pretty good as other reviews have stated, and I don't usually eat salsa too often but would have it again. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was terrible. My nachos were stale chips covered with cheese and then made microwaved with the taco meat, lettuce and tomatoes added. I know it was microwaved because the styrofoam container was melted on the bottom and around the edges where the cheese got too hot. It looked awful and was not tasty at all. My wife's tacos were at least edible but definitely not the best she's ever had. All in all, not a great experience and probably won't be back. read more

My kids and I visited Madres' Cosina on Saturday Sep 7, 2024. The total was $82.56 so I left $10 cash at the table considering the service we received and I paid the rest with my credit card. Today I found out that my CC had been charged $102.56 without my consent. A fraudulent charge on my card is not acceptable. read more

I was pretty disappointed at Madres Cocina. The environment was typical of a Texas hole in the wall. Their food was bland and not well cooked, but the service was surprisingly slow. Lots of walking around, and past us for an excessive amount of time without taking our orders got us off to a bad start. Would not recommend. read more

We were passing thru Forney and checked Yelp for a place to eat and found this GEM!! I tried the Chimichanga with chicken Fajita meat and OMG!! Best meat ever! You never know with chicken fajita meat if it will be dry or not but this meat was cooked to perfection and very tasty. And so was the chimichanga deep-fried perfectly and the sauce was excellent also the rice was very good in the Bracho beans were amazing!! We had a bowl of queso topped with a load of brisket!! YUM!!!! My husband had the shrimp Brochettes although the shrimp were small there were many of them and very tasty tasty and flavorful! Check this place out!! read more

Gave another star bc it was ordered for us at lunch and the service was so much more pleasant. And I will say I was very happy with my stuffed avocado. Much better than my first experience! I had Madres delivered to work for lunch. I got a taco salad, a drink and a small order of queso and it was over $20.00!! After that shock I figured as long as it was good it was worth it...not so much. The food was mediocre. Nothing great but not horrible either. The reason for a low score was because the rudeness of the gentleman who delivered my food who said "you should be lucky I came over here or you'd be waiting another hour" which was never told to me over the phone or i would have just gone and picked it up or better yet gone somewhere else. Besides the air conditioning not working and it being 83 degrees inside they like to nickel and dime for EVERYTHING! For example, they not only charge a hefty $3.00 for delivery but they also charge $1.50 (to go fee) aka cost of doing business guys! This to me is ridiculous considering you should still leave a tip for the driver! So after $8.00 in fees and tips now you have to pay for the grossly over charged mediocre food. So disappointed... and don't forget a party of six includes an 18% gratuity despite the sixth person being a baby! I rarely if ever leave reviews... I thought this was warranted and the owners need to realize that there are costs to doing business. Perhaps thy should put this extra money towards a new HVAC unit that works. We were traveling thru Forney and found this great Mexican restaurant called Madres. My wife had the Fried Avocado Dinner and I had the Chimichanga Dinner. Both meals came out quick and piping hot. The Chimichanga was fantastic and I tried a bite of the Fried Avocado and it was out of this world with flavor! Oh and the complimentary hot chips and salsa where a nice plus. The wait staff was very friendly and service great and quick. If we are ever near Forney again it is a must stop for us. read more
