We went here on a Sunday and it was packed. Since it was just the 2 of us, we waited for 30 minutes. Just do not come between 12 to 1pm as it is packed. Our waitress was outstanding as she took care of us. I am not so sure if there were more, but she was handling quite a bit of tables. She gave us samples of each of the sauces and even the boom boom one. Please note it is a dollar extra for the sauce. I ended up ordering the taco salad. It is not your typical that you see however as there is not taco bowl, but a substitute for the strips. They use fresh vegetables and nothing looked expired. In fact it looked just like the photo on the menu. We got a lot of chips and salsa and our waitress asked if we wanted chips to go and we thought she was going to give us a box to put the chips, but nope it ended up being a bag. Good food and drinks. Slow service for some reason today. Even asked for fast margarita service. Slow service only allowed us to order one margarita each. Was looking to have three. Money saved, i guess.... Taco salad is always a good option and was delicious. The flautas were delicious and filling. Chili rellenos were another matter. I arrived at the beginning of their happy hour, and it was quiet, but once 5 PM hit, the place started to fill up. Haileigh was our waitress, and she took excellent care of us. She gave great menu recommendations, and everything she suggested was delicious. We ordered the Boom Boom Dip which is $5 during happy hour, I had the beef fajitas, and for dessert, the tres leches cake. The fajitas were just okay--I've had better--but the cake was a 10/10, highly recommend! While I didn't order a drink, their house margaritas are less than $6 during happy hour. First time to this Chuys but have eaten at others all over the state of Texas. Service was great, building is new and clean and was very comfortable inside even in this Texas heat. Emily was our server and she was great! Chips were fresh and salsas were all good and tasted freshly made. Better than most I've had lately. We shared fajitas and always ask for onions well done and rarely get them as requested but these were awesome. Meat was super tender and very tasty and my onions were cooked exactly like I requested. They were so good that I neglected to snap a pic before devouring but the hubs had sent one to his friends so was able to grab his pic. 10 of 10 for all of the food & the cocktails we ordered. Probably my favorite Chuys of all the ones I've visited. Good job Chuys!! When we are the area again we will def be back! read more

We are visiting from the Houston area for a wedding this weekend and after a bad experience at another restaurant tonight, we came to Chuy's in hopes of a better experience... Soon as we came in the door we were greeted with hospitality and seated right away. We had the most attentive waiter!! His name was Ali. I mentioned to my husband that he really knew how to take care of his customers. The food and drinks were fantastic and the service was the best. I live in south Texas and have loved Chuy's since the 80's. The Barton Springs location was always a must when in Austin back then. Food: very good! Taco salad was super fresh although I wish they would have tossed it like I asked for. My kids CRUSHED the chicken tender and cheeseburger kids meals, also love that they came with ice cream and only 6.99 per meal. My husband got the burrito bowl which was delicious. Ambiance: it's loud- good if you're bringing kids. Kids menus are super fun. Good music playing. Lots of things on the wall to look at. Service: pretty good. Not bad enough to dock a star, but I had to remind the server to bring us straws and they forgot to put the order in for my tequila floater with my margarita. Second time at this location now and I have to say, this is the smallest Chuys I've ever been to. Not sure why it's so small. Looks like the kitchen is bigger than the seating area. With that being said, I believe this is why wait times are anywhere from 45min - 1 hour 45min. I know it's because this location is still new, but if they had more seating it could probably help alleviate that. They don't have their online wait list going yet either, but the manager said they would closer to the Summer time. Overall though, it's a chain TexMex place and I find Chuys to be pretty good from all the other chain TexMex places. I'll be back for sure, unless the wait time is outrageous. read more

We went 5/10/25 for dinner. Must be homophobic employees there, because a lady came and said she wasn't our waitress but would get us taken care of "until he's caught up." No biggie... until I notice that during our entire visit, there are 2 male waiters helping customers behind us and also to the side of us. Also waitress seemed put out with us when we complained the tea looked and tasted like water. Brought us more and said "see if this is any better." What a fun little family restaurant! Heading over to Dallas, we decided to stop in Terrell for supper and who doesn't like Mexican?? It was a Thursday at 5pm. Not terribly busy, got seated right away and got the best waitress. Drinks, chips and salsa hit table quickly and added queso to the list. I'd have to say it might have been my favorite part of the meal! I passed on the house salsa. Just didn't look appealing as it was watery tomato juice. We ended up ordering a 2 person chicken and steak fajita dinner. Unless you both are really hungry you could probably get by with sharing a single. It was a lot of meat! I preferred the chicken over the steak. Steak was very tender and cooked right, just lacked flavor. Over all it was a very good spot to eat before fighting Dallas traffic. Ok so we absolutely love the chips, creamy jalapeño ranch and Antyan (sp?) is one of the best server's I've experienced anywhere in Dallas- he should be at a fine dining place earning mega tips- but anyway. We came around 5pm ish only to face absolutely zero waiting area just awkwardly standing by the entrance, one of us was told "10 mins" then when I ask 10 mins later why empty booths and tables weren't being filled the four teenage girl-gaggle loitering at the host stand finally broke up and accommodated us. We ended up at a booth (window side) with an extra chair pulled up for 5th member. As mentioned the service was awesome but even after being warned that the kitchen was backed up we probably waited a solid hour to finally receive our entrees. Overall parents enjoyed food, "too many onions" (and too spicy for me) was said of the complimentary salsa. The "chipotle" sauce that comes with the flautas tastes like watery/spicy marinara with a hint of chipotle- please fix that its awful! I enjoyed the tortilla soup but the avocado was hard to breakdown because it was almost ripe and there were huge chicken pieces with the tendon or whatever holding it together so clearly it wasn't prepped properly to avoid that. We have ordered via uber eats several times and had no issues- I love the shrimp tacos! So we will continue to do that. Fun decor/atmosphere but it is also really chilly by the wall booths in this weather so keep that in mind! Otherwise enjoy Chuys- we are glad to have more food options in the area. read more

Although busy the wait was quick for a table of 6. Service was good and foos came out fairly quick. For a chain restaurant the food was solid. It's a solid go to if you want some decent TexMex. The dining area is open so it can be loud but we were able to have conversations just fine. If you have a craving for TexMex and don't want to drive into Dallas this should cure your craving. read more

My wife, kids and I come here 1-2 times a week from forney. This place is a godsend. Food is 8.5/10. Service 9/10. Best Mexican restaurant within 10 miles IMHO. The service was okay. The waitress was on the younger side but she provided good service. The food was Mediocre at best. We had an appetizer which was a sampler it was good. My wife then had a burrito but she was unable to eat it. It was a steak burrito and just did not taste good at all. I had the steak and chicken fajitas and they were good. However the rice was not good at all. To be fair we know what good Mexican food is supposed to taste like so we have high standards for Mexican food and this place doesn't even come close to that. Excellent food and even better service! We had a party of 12 and came for lunch at noon on a Saturday. The hostesses were very friendly and accommodating. The manager came up to the front to let us know how they were going to arrange us and what we would be waiting on. The wait was not long. We all enjoyed everything we ate and had Gracie as our waitress. Every person at our table commented on how awesome she was. She was so friendly and outgoing and attentive. We had everything we needed throughout our meal and more. She offered ice cream push pops to our littles and made everyone feel welcomed.
