Ok, it had been a few years since I've eaten here. I was reading the reviews and thought I'd give this place another shot. My family and I went here on a Sunday just before noon. The crowd wasn't bad, and we were seated quickly. The chips, salsa, and drinks were delivered promptly. The salsa seemed like a new recipe, and was pretty good. I want to say the chip game was on point, at a table of 6 our chips were never empty. We ordered a queso and that was good too. The staff was accommodating when our kids made special requests and that was appreciated. The rest of us ordered something involving brisket and all left stuffed and happy. Food was authentic and delicious. We ended up getting the same waitress from my first visit and she was attentive and friendly. There was also a gentleman probably in his 40s overseeing the dining operations, he ran a tight ship, and was most likely the reason everything was prompt. The place even seemed a bit lighter and the atmosphere was a little more family friendly. Oh I also had a margarita after reading the reviews. It was perfect in my opinion. A family of 6 ate until we burst and it was all still under $120.00. That's a win in our book. This place is back in the rotation, if things change, I'll post an update. read more

Service was awful. Waitress never made eye contact with anyone, when I tried to request no pico. She didn't look up to see whose order needed what. I knew she was going to mess mine up. She never came to check. No refills in drinks only the chips which no one asked for... Took forever to bring the check so we had to ask because they were all sitting down watching tv or dancing around not paying attention. The food wasn't that good either.. I guess for the price it was reasonable for lunch specials but not worth coming back. read more

We were staying in Forney for the night and decided to eat here because it was close to our hotel. It wasn't exactly what we were looking for, but since it was convenient, we gave it a try--and I'm glad we did. The food was amazing, and the service was top-notch. The restaurant was busy, but our waitress was still very attentive and made sure our drinks were refilled whenever needed. I ordered the Burrito Mexicano, expecting it to be fairly standard, but it exceeded my expectations. It was packed with flavor and was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend it. My wife ordered the Stuffed Chicken Avocado, and she really enjoyed it as well. If I didn't live 230 miles away, this would definitely be one of our regular places to eat. I've been dining at RL for many years, we have grown to love the staff and owners as family. Today we came in and tried a new menu item, the Pambazo. I am serious to say this was one of the most delicious meals I have had, after dining in multitudes of restaraunts across this nation and others. This small, family owned business really knows their way around the kitchen! The staff is always welcoming, they have our drinks pouring before we are even seated. The place is always filled with laughter, music, and good sports playing on multiple tv's. They have an event room for special occasions that you can rent. We have even had them cater for an outside event and they thought of everything. Some of my favorite meals are the grilled avacados, brisket enchiladas, Jesse's special, barrocho bean soup, and of course the new Pambazo. I do believe I have had everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. They make a great margarita and mojito. I found that it is hit and miss here at this restaurant sometimes it's good sometimes it's horrible but it's close to my house. Everybody else seems to rave about it so I might be the only one that just doesn't have the taste for this place but sometimes it's good. We went here on a Friday night and this place does get pack. It is huge inside and have lots of servers to accommodate. I ordered the the rib eye steak tacos. It comes with a bean and sausage soup, avocado and spicy salsa. I did not really care for the spicy salsa. The rib eye tacos were good, the beef was moist and not dry. Food does come out fast so you will not notice with the crowds. The chips and salsa was good. After you are done eating, it does take a while to get the bill however. read more

Rio Lerma has been a Terrell favorite for many years. The food is always good and freshly prepared. The menu has lots of different choices, especially with different types of enchiladas. Their queso blanco is awesome, and I say it's the best in town! Service is always quick, and they keep your drinks full. Decided to try this place since it was right next door to our hotel. I was not disappointed. I had to try the chiliquilles. I had over easy eggs a d changed the Ranchero sauce to the tomatillo. It was perfect. The chips and salsa with guacamole were fresh and delicious. They did not skimp on the guacamole. My sister had the brisket burrito. She said it was very good. As a born and raised southern Californian, Rio Lerma has been the most legit/ authentic Mexican food place, we have found, since my family and I have moved to Forney, TX. The atmosphere is nice, small town feel. The service was good. The food was good. To be honest it's tough finding great Mexican Food in Texas. Best TexMex in Terrell! Quickly seated in a spacious dining room, my first impression was WOW - this place has a ton of windows! All if the walls are almost solid windows, offering a panoramic view of small-town life. Love it! Our chips, drinks and queso came fast - and we were happy. The queso & salsa are both thin, almost watery - but very good. We decided to share a couple of appetizers instead of entrees, and it was great! The Shredded Chicken Nachos were fantastic and generously apportioned, and the Shrimp Quesadillas were even better!! We left stuffed! I picked this restaurant after looking at the yelp reviews. We have always gone to Christina's before when in the area and I wanted to try something new. The place was packed when we arrived Wednesday night. We were seated within 5 minutes. While waiting we talked with several people who were regulars. One person said he and his family come every Wednesday night and they get the same things. So my mom got the Leo and I got the Lerma. Let me say this...I am currently eating the rest of last dinners left overs and they are just as amazing as they were when they were served! I seriously don't know how I will ever be able to try anything else. I have never eaten a chicken dinner that was this wonderful! My mother just called telling the same about her left overs. Ok we started with guacamole, salsa and chips. Salsa had good flavor and the chips were crisp. Disappointed the chip lady never brought me any salsa verde, but the red salsa was good. I ordered the Lerma special which is chicken breast stuffed with shrimp, mushrooms, onions, & cheese with a chipotle sauce (I didn't think I'd like the chipotle sauce boy was I wrong!), garlic mashed potatoes (the garlic flavor is prefect if you love garlic like I do!) and fresh perfectly steamed veggie slices a little crisp and not over cooked! My mom ordered the Leo special and it was very similar but different and just as wonderful. Her chicken breast & shrimp had a chipotle sauce onions mushrooms, cheese but the sauce was almost more like an amazing gravy, then it came with a fresh salad and rice. I had a taste for Mexican food so I wanted to find a place in Forney to try. Their reviews were good and the food looked delicious so I decided to pick up dinner for myself and hubby. I ordered Queso, Cheese Enchilada dinner with chili sauce for myself and the Chile Relleno dinner for my husband. All meals come with complimentary chips and salsa. The Queso was a big disappointment. It comes with jalapeños and spinach but I could only taste cheese. The Enchiladas were good and I would probably get them again. Horrible customer service. We were given chips and salsa but no one came to take a drink or food order in over 15 minutes. The booth next to us came in after us, had their drink order taken and were served their drinks and then the waitress proceeded to take their food order. Still, no one approached us to take an order or even acknowledge we were waiting. We left and will not be back. We went to Los Hermanos and had wonderful service and food.
