First time at this place. I thought it was pretty cool. They take macaroni and cheese a whole different level with so many variations. I had the Tuscan Alfredo Mac and cheese and it was fabulous. Even the day after. The chicken was cooked to perfection and it was not hard to find within the dish. My company had the Cajun Shrimp and Crab. Seafood isn't my thing, but she loved it. Love this place! We were here for an Eagles game on Sunday, and it was the perfect place to watch the game. Friendly service and love the juke box and dart board games as well. Love the food options and you can't go wrong with the anything off the menu, especially Cajun shrimp and crab Mac and cheese - it's a must try! Wow! When I said that I didn't want to be seated in the same room as the live band for dinner, I was persona non grata for the rest of the night. One hour after I walked in - still no food. The food finally arrived. It was dropped down and slid at me. So glad I looked up this local restaurant when we were on the road to NY instead of getting fast food! Mad-Macs was such a delightful stop on our journey. Every employee we encountered was friendly, the space was very clean, and the food was DELICIOUS. My husband and I shared the chicken parm bites, mad-Mac, and cheesesteak rolls. Tbh... the namesake mad-Mac was our least favorite of the three. The small version of the mad-Mac was more than enough for us to share but it was a bit too sweet for us. The chicken parm bites tasted fresh and yummy. The cheesesteak bites were crispy and savory and not very greasy. They had advertised some kind of pineapple-jalapeño tequila at the entrance so we tried some shots of that. Very delightful. We also shared a spa treatment drink which was also refreshing with cucumber and mint. The place was pretty packed at 1pm on a Friday! Love that they had wall adapters for usb and the decor. So I have been to mad mac before and i have liked their food. I think the mac and cheese can be a little pricey but it's interesting. Recently, however, I had a pretty bad experience that will probably deter me from patronizing them in the future. Last night I placed an order for pick up. Two full sized mac and cheese, truffle fries and a small salad. I ordered it at 8:16 and it said it would be ready by about 9, great. I ordered it on grub hub and they updated me that they got the order, then nothing. So I just figured I could go to the resturant and see if it was ready. They are 6 minutes from my friends who we were visiting. I get there and it's not that busy. I waited about 15 minutes before a hostess or waitress said anything to me and no one was around to ask. Finally someone did come up and was very nice but told me they keep orders at the bar and that I could just go to the bar. About 8 minutes before one of the bartenders get to me. Again very friendly and she went to get my order. So I get back to my friends to eat again only 6 minutes later and the food is cold. The cold food, the salad, is warm. You know what doesnt reheat as good in a microwave, French fries and mac and cheese. I originally was annoyed that I got food after waiting so long in the resturant. Obviously it was ready way before. Also I got a msg at 9:31pm saying they were still working on my food. Which really shows how organized they are. I was going to let it go and never come back here but my friend insisted I reach out to grub hub and mad mac since we order from here often when I visit. So the next day, today, I did. I left around 10 for a 2 plus hour drive and called when I finished unloading and finished some yard work while it was still light. The manager at mad Mac's said to me and the grub hub rep that it wasn't her problem she wasn't the manager last night and that I should have called a few hours earlier. That's horrible customer service. I didnt call last night because it was late by the time I sat down and didnt want to raise my blood pressure late at night. I called this afternoon about 8 waking hours after the whole debacle and that's what you say? That's really infuriating how unapologetic a manager could be. I tried to work this out but they didnt seem to care. You could say sorry but I was not the manager last night but I can take your number and they can get back to you. But this shows how little they really value their customers. I would say come here at your own risk. If the meal is without issues you're great and they have some creative dishes but if you have any issues be ready to be told it isn't their problem. read more

I had the BEST experience hosting a private, birthday reception for ~ 25 friends and family on Mad-Macs' outdoors patio. There was a thoughtful, ongoing replenishment of fresh appetizers, with guests on separate checks for a cash-bar. Everything went so smoothly...and the event was SPECTACULAR! Manager Travis and server Kate, are THE BEST! They even lowered the music in our area, so longtime friends could easily talk. Could be a one time thing not sure but we saw the server when they took our order and they never came back. There was confusion when delivering our food... food runner looked annoyed about server... needed salt and ketchup and eventually going a table no longer using there's. I asked our food runner for mimosas cause we never saw our server again.. those never came. I had to ask our server for the check cause I couldn't find the server after walking around. Server finally brought check and never took card so after 10 minutes I went to look for them again... couldn't find so I went to hostess again... took while but finally got the check to sign and we ran out of there. I've been here 4 times within the last couple of months. I wouldn't come here for a family dinner, but it's a great place to watch a game and have a snack/drink. It's obvious that the kitchen cares about food quality. The service is typically great, but last time it was absolutely terrible. They were definitely understaffed, but that's not a reason to ignore customers. I joined a friend who was dining alone and sat for 35 minutes trying to get a drink. When my friend's food came out, I asked the runner to send our waitress over. It never happened. I'll be back, but they definitely need to have a better plan when they're short staffed(maybe sections instead of rotation) to ensure they're not ignoring customers. read more

Where to start. Well, we came here for lunch because of some good reviews we saw on here and we were craving some GOOD Mac and cheese that we didn't have to make ourselves. We sat ourselves at a table away from the bar and after a few minutes a waitress came over and got our drink orders. The ambiance is cool, "biker" vibe, with plenty of TVs to watch the sports games on, and a pretty large bar area which had a few people. We put my daughters order in first just a classic Mac meal while we decided on ours. It took about a half an hour for my child to get her meal which was a while since besides the bar, the restaurant was empty. I decided on the Buffalo Chicken Mac and my sister ordered the fried Mac and cheese bites. When we got ours it took me back because there was a measly chicken tender on top and no buffalo sauce. So I look through the dish and there is only chunks of chicken breast. No buffalo sauce anywhere but a "special sauce" they have which is very sweet. I was definitely expecting a spicy buffalo dish and I didn't love it at all. My sister took one bite of hers and hated that special sauce they also doused her meal in and wanted to get something different. We waited and waited for a server to acknowledge us and it never happened. Turns out our server was also the bartender that day so we just went and asked for the check. Never asked us how our meals were, if we wanted a refill or anything. Pretty terrible service and the food was not in anyway qualifying to be specialty Mac and cheese. We will not be back. read more

Saw Mad Mac's on Grub Hub and thought, "Man, this seems great!" Put in an order, it arrived on time, food was adequate. This review doesn't hinge on the quality of the food, but rather the outrageous $10 delivery fee. I'm 5 miles from the store. I've never had the pleasure of paying so much for someone to drive my food 10 minutes to me. They list the delivery fee as "2.50+" and then increase it 300% when you check out. I hope the ten bucks you made makes up for the many orders I might have put in if you weren't shady as hell. read more

The Cheesesteak had some weird taste to it and it was it overfilled. They gave me some fries they didn't even order and charge me for them. They had a QR code, the prices didn't match the menu. The service seem to be hanging out more with her friends then, serving us. It was too loud I couldn't hear the person across on the table talk, the waitress couldn't even hear our order. I really thought this place is gonna be packed it usually is when I pass it. I thought the atmosphere was pretty Desent, and the outdoor door was spacious. I just expected more of this restaurant. Seems like they have more hostesses than waitresses or waiters. At least the bar was epic and it looked like it had a nice variety of drinks. A lot of items were not available from the menu I don't know what that was about but, I don't think I'd ever go back or refer anybody there. I only had the Mac and Cheese, so this is only based on that. I had the sampler that was offered that night that had the Pizza Mac, the Cajun Mac, and the Hawaiian Mac. I am a Mac and Cheese fanatic, as I could probably eat it for three meals a day forever, and never get enough cheese! The Pizza mad had read gravy and either meatballs or sausage (it's been a little while) in it, and was a good mix of traditional mac mixed with pizza toppings! The Cajun Mac was definitely my favorite! It had crab meat and a little kick of spice, definitely to die for! The Hawaiian Mac was definitely interesting at first, the mix of pineapple and ham with the Mac and Cheese was a unique taste, but it was very good! The others with me also only got Mac and Cheese, and they were also beyond satisfied with their food. I think we are a family of Mac and Cheese addicts! This place is great. I stopped here while traveling to Philadelphia. The service was top notch. Our server was named Amanda, and she was friendly, approachable, and very genuine. I ordered the fried Mac and Cheese as an appetizer. They were actually quite nice. My entree was one of their burgers with onion rings. The bun was toasted, and the burger had the perfect amount of seasoning. The decor is actually refreshing. Though it is a Sport's Bar, the restaurant had the appearance of a small coffee shop. I called ahead because we are in COVID TIMES it kept ringing busy so I walked in...no one was at the hostess stand it took me and another customer about 5 mins to be helped finally got help and the girl sits us down outside on the deck... nice view mixed crowd...well well well well! while sitting and waiting for our meal a man and his wife came in but not without Sparky GOOD thing we had not gotten our food so I asked the waitress when she came back discreetly to move us to another table she said ok I will have to put the move in so we said ok so 20-30 mins go by she never came back however when she did she come she came with 3 people to bring our food at the same DAMN table I asked to move from so I kindly asked for boxes and packed my $58 dollar food up and left I really was hesitant to just cancel it all but at the end of the day the cook was not the problem he did not have eyes on the scene the waitress did... I DON'T CARE IF RESTAURANT HAVE PET's but let them be service dogs and before you say how do you know it wasn't because he had no tags or papers on him like that little vest the dogs wear how do I know that dog is even up to code...it was a pit bull or bulldog we all know sometimes no matter how much you love those dogs get they Turn NEVER COMING BACK! On a visit to Newark, my family and I decided to stop at Mad-Macs to takeout lunch. Overall, we had a lovely lunch! The mac and cheese lives up to its hype, and their salad and burgers are also okay. We were disappointed to find that the online menu had some inconsistencies with what was actually available. Furthermore, we found out that specials could not be ordered for takeout, which was also disappointing. Overall, we would love to come back and try something new another time. So all the sub-par reviews are right on target. First, it appears that the townie bar patrons from olden days at the Deer Park have migrated over to this place. Outside having a smoke on our way in were a couple of groups of guys so drunk they were having to hold each other up and dropping F-bombs right and left. Second, I asked the waitress, it took her 10 minutes to find our table before we got a drink, to tell us what the on tap list was since there wasn't one on the table. She proceeded to list off the usual Miller & Bud light and then told me that the only "craft" beer they had on tap was Yuengling. I would describe Yuengling as the beer of my misguided youth but I and most others would never describe it as "craft". So I proceeded to order a Marguerita which was a Happy Hour special and a decently made drink although it was surely a pre-made mix. Some friends then joined us from the bar and walked in with a couple of pints of truly craft beers. When the waitress returned I asked her what the deal was and she told me that she had given me the beer list of what was on special for Happy Hour. That's not what I asked you sweetheart. Third, my friends asked her for the size of the mac and cheese portions, small versus large and instead of bringing out the dish they are served in she made the exact same size gesture with her hands to describe each of them. As it was, neither of my grown men big eater buddies could come close to finish the large portions of the dish. I tasted it and the mac and cheese was nothing to write home about, kraft is a close enough second place. It was way too salty. I ordered app's for the table: Walk about chicken rolls (meh), cheesesteak rolls (decent but not as good as Iron Hill's) loaded potato balls (AWESOME), old bay fries (way over salted). It wasn't terribly expensive because it was Happy Hour prices which is the only redeeming quality of the meal other than the potato balls and the Marguerita. TGIF's would have had a better quality food and a much classier clientele and service. read more
