    Free Range Chicken-good!
    Terri C.

The food here is good overall despite it being a little touristy but there were a few misses. To start, we ordered the short rib and scallops appetizer, and flatbread with olive tapenade. The flatbread and was good and was devoured by the kids. They were able to put the olive tapenade separately. The short rib and scallop was ok but was was a very small portion and not worth the 11 euro price tag. For dinner, I ordered the roasted chicken and it was pretty good. The mushroom risotto was very flavorful and tasty. The beef duo was another hit. The sirloin steak however, was not a good cut and was not tender. Service was welcoming and was good overall.

Wandering the streets of downtown Belfast the cafe options can be overwhelming as there are multiple on every corner. We were looking for a good lunch spot to try some local fare and settled on Made in Belfast after reading the glowing yelp review. What a great spot! Very rustic meets modern style with string lights, rustic hardwood, and open seating. All of their food is locally sourced and they even tell you which farms their meats are from. The menu was reasonably priced (we were there for the lunch menu). Everything about 7-9 pound, sides at 1.50 pound. We shared the goat cheese appetizer to start. This was the highlight of the meal. A delicious ball of goat cheese covered in some nuts, and served with fresh red and golden beets. This was served with a whole grain bread - texture of a banana bread. Delicious. Must get. This was followed sharing the burger. The burger was full of flavor and had an aioli type sauce. So good. Must also get. I had the fat fries and a small soup, tomato bisque. Very good as well. Good size for the 1.5GBP and the soup and everything else is made in house. Service is great. Come to south Florida and we would be regulars! Thanks!

Lovely dinner! Booking is a must if you want to come and experience this wonderful dinner experience Cocktails were well mixed and well served, crab starter was... out of this world! Burger was good, though not having the option for less than done and well done on the meat was a bit peculiar... local law it seems... a shame... The desert was the perfect end to a wonderful dinner experience Staff was helpful and courteous, recommend tipping :-)

Great deal with the "show time" menu, offered Monday-Friday 4-6pm (wonderful for us with the jet lag and wanting dinner early on our first night in town). Friendly service, though the food was slow to come out. We had: WHIPPED GOATS CHEESE, GLAZED LOCAL BEETROOT, CANDIED PECANS, CHARD LEAVES, SOURDOUGH CROUTONS - good flavors here, but definitely needed more bread/croutons! SUSTAINABLE GINGERBEER BATTERED HADDOCK MUSHY PEAS, ROASTED LEMON, CURRY SAUCE & BEEF FAT CHIPS - actually had their gluten-free version instead, on the server's recommendation and it was really flavorful! Skipped the curry sauce though. Loved the roasted lemon! fish pie that isn't listed on their online menu - delicious! I loved the tomato & cream based sauce, with big chunks of various fishes in there WILD MUSHROOM RISOTTO from the kids menu was also a big hit - lots of types of mushrooms were greatly appreciated Kids menu entrees also come with a soft drink (including fizzy juices) and ice cream shared a sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream for dessert and it was fantastic. will definitely return!

This place had the goods. I ordered a steak sandwich and the sweet potato fries. The steak was thinly sliced, like a flank steak and cooked medium. It was a perfect cook, not too chewy, but not dry either. Just perfect. What was missing was a seasoning in the meat and some more avocado. It said it came with avocado, but there was hardly any. Ya know what was amazing? The sourdough! Wow! The sweet potato fries were as good as anywhere. I ate them all. Minus a star for not having ranch dressing. Yes, us Americans love ranch with our fries. That isn't weird. And, I was offered mustard, but it had horseradish. Oooffff. In fact, they didn't have any mustard without horseradish. Overpowering. Minus another star because of the avocado. The sandwich, overall needed something like a sauce or spread...or more avocado/guacamole. Recommend? Sure. It was a great locale, trendy looking, and the staff was friendly enough. But where were all the customers?! Hmmm. Made me wonder.

First time in Belfast. Relied on Yelpers to guide us to a great spot. Indeed they did. Phenomenal location and atmosphere. Exactly what we hoped for. We tried the salmon tartare, goat cheese app, pork belly dish, and the tiramisu cheesecake....every single element had amazingly unique and tremendous flavor. I couldn't be more pleased. Service was good and prices reasonable.

Came here after seeing Made In Belfast's astounding ratings. What I ate: Crab claws in chili and garlic - I ordered the small portion and it was a very substantial appetizer. The flavors were rich and the presentation was very beautiful. I thought the balance was a little strange, but not in a bad way. Oven baked filet if sustainable hake - this was delicious!! I squeezed the baked lemon over the fish and every bite was a delight. I thought it was SO well spiced and really delicious with the noodles, which were appropriately blander than the fish. I think the portion and presentation were spot on and would deff recommend. I observed someone order the battered fish and chips and that fried piece of fish look AMAZING. It was huge and fried to perfection. Definitely would recommend if you're into fish and chips. The atmosphere: Upon stepping through the kitschy doors, one is transported into an eclectically designed artsy space with walls decorated with menus advertising the sustainable and noteworthy characteristics of the food. The interior is dimly lit which makes the bright colors seem more rustic and when you sit down to eat, you're given a paper menu clipped to a clipboard. Takeaways: I loved the food however, I felt as though I fell into a bit or a tourist trap. There were many tourists at this place and thus, the prices were substantially higher than most of the other places in Belfast. The service was a bit slow, but very friendly and overall, a fun place to get a really tasty bite.

After my travels abroad and trying local restaurants everywhere we went, this has to be the best meal I've had anywhere!! Everything was beyond delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the Duo of Irish Beef and it was beyond amazing. So much flavor and so tender. I can't wait to come back some day!!!

Great food! So glad I found this place thanks to Yelp! We ordered a couple of apps for the table to share. The pork egg rolls were good, but small portion with only two skinny egg rolls. I ordered the pan roasted chicken with potato au gatin and veggies. By far one of my favorite meals the entire trip. Everything was so flavorful and the presentation was amazing. All of our cocktails were freshly made. The popular one at the table was the Madam passion. I had the bramble which was great also! And of course dessert....get the sticky toffee pudding! It is served warm with vanilla ice cream on top. We also ordered the lava cake and apple crumb. All yummy!

    Baked Irish cheese appetizer

I love the décor; it's so quirky, but I'll get to that later. The first time my partner and I went, we shared the baked Irish cheese and the grilled hake over crab fettuccine. Both were superb. The bread that came with the baked cheese would have been lovely on its own, all doughy and salty. These tasted a little like brie and was all melty and delicious. The hake was cooked perfectly and the crab fettuccine was full of flavor. And fat probably, but that's what makes it so yummy! The service was spot on. They're a casual restaurant and our waiter was in jeans and a button up shirt. When my partner mistakenly ordered a "Laffy Daffy" cocktail, the waiter said coyly, "Would you take a Lady Daffy?" The second visit was with a large group, which can impact service, but they did very well. I had the Sheppard's pie. While it was very good, it's not the traditional pie you would expect. No crust or potatoes on top. Just delicious, tender meat in gravy in a pie crust. Be sure to look around! There's portraits of dogs dressed and posed as people. The different colored subway tiles throughout is a nice touch.

Now often I am not a kabob kinda person as I often find kabobs to be over cooked chewy things. But this was decidedly different. It had soda bread, a thicker softer white bread, a delightful sausage, and bacon. Coupled with a brown sauce it just was an utter delight. The UK ruined me on sausage because I really find sausage in both England and Ireland to be noticeably better than any sausage I have eaten in the US. The casement is not a distracting element. I know some like chewy, snappy casement but I am not one. The meat itself was very flavorful with a smooth texture. I wanted just to eat a plate of sausage! The bacon is more on the Canadian bacon style then the US style - which makes sense - but I liked it here more than Canadian bacon. It wasn't super fatty, it was very easy to chew, and it was very flavorful. I really enjoyed it! The staff here were super polite and kind. It was a great experience!

There was a 10/15 minute wait for a table but that was grand after all its sunday morning brunch time. I ordered the best of the market breakfast (see pic) and asked for my tea to be served at the same time. Food came out quickly but I didnt get asked if I wanted any condiments, had to ask myself. I was about half way through breakfast as well before I had to remind them id also ordered a tea. This came without milk so had to ask for that too. So the food itself was good, ive had better, ive had worse. I didnt like the very crispy slice of fried soda, personally I prefer a nice soft soda farl to mop up sauces and egg. Potato bread was ok and the rest nice but not mind blowing. Overall its not bad. Lovely setting, friendly, if not forgetful staff. Id come back but ive had better breakfasts. I visited yesterday (Saturday 14.05.2016) with my sister and we had an extremely enjoyable leisurely lunch sitting on said balcony, watching bustling St George's Market, soaking up atmosphere and listening to wonderful live music. Service was good and there were a few Vegetarian options on the menu. It's a pity these Vegetarian dishes aren't more clearly marked with a (V) plus a few more Vegetarian dishes would be great, but at least they are there. Caroline S ordered a Veggie Breakfast (£6.75) which was the most impressive looking Vegetarian Fry I've ever seen, plus she assured me it tasted fantastic. I opted for a pasta dish with butternut squash, walnuts, onion and rosemary (£6.95). Delicious food in generous portions at reasonable prices. We managed to work our way through glasses of Pinot Grigio, Rose and Prosecco. St George's Market Bar and Grill also do the most amazing pure apple juice and Prosecco cocktail which we thought the best Prosecco based cocktail we have ever tried. Most of the restaurant ingredients are fresh and local, coming from the market itself. We arrived at just before 1pm and stayed until after 3pm as we had such a wonderful time there. Even inside this restaurant is beautiful due to natural light coming through a skylight rooftop, however the best tables are definitely on the balcony. I'm already plotting my return...

First things first - this restaurant is part of the Made in Belfast group of restaurants to the decor etc is quirky where very little matches. The restaurant is brighter than i remember and the gross chip board seems to have been threw into a chipper. This was a relief. The waitress was really friendly and full of great chat. From the menu I ordered the Mousetrap burger. This meal came with onion rings and skinny fries on the side as standard. This was a winner for me, as the restaurant universe of late has been presenting sides as an optional offering rather than an inclusive wonder. So bravo to strip joint for throwing in 2 sides.
