Giving it 4 based on service & ambiance. The servers were all so friendly & nice! As soon as we walked in we were greeted & seated & given menus & waters. They only serve Pepsi products so I didn't get my usual Coke :) I heard about their pancakes so ordered a short stack. It was a fine pancake but nothing amazing- but my main issue was the cup of syrup they served with it - it wasn't normal syrup & I didn't care for it at all. I asked the server what it was & he told me a mix of Vermont syrup & butter, he asked me if I liked it :) & I said if I'm honest, no :) he said he had regular maple syrup if I'd like and I said yes! My daughter ordered the blt with egg- that was pretty good & a good deal- it was $16 I believe & you get a choice of several different sides- one of which being a short stack of pancakes which is normally $10.95 by itself. You can also choose fruit, hasbrowns & a couple other options. The food was ok but would order something different if I went back. However the friendliness & service was really good & the inside is very cute & old schoolish feeling which was fun. They have a countertop you can sit at or cute little booths. read more

Maddie's Corner Cafe is legit. I don't normally like pancakes but theirs are so good. They have this amazing butter syrup that is so good! I also had the dolly's omelette and it was so delicious. We've been wanting to stop in for a bit now and the opportunity finally presented itself. This place is super small inside, but they have made it as roomy as possible. Seating was in good condition and the place was clean. There are about a half dozen booths and around 8 counter seats. We ordered a waffle/eggs and chicken fried steak breakfast. Both were very good and the CFS meal was more than i could eat in this sitting. Service was friendly but not spot on. We had to ask for the toast to be delivered and drink refills were promised but forgotten. With coffee you can expect to pay between $15-20 per meal. read more

We have heard the most wonderful things about the corner café. But, we must have hit on a bad day. This was months ago, but the food was average. The service can't be criticized, exactly, but there was no smile nor eye contact. Not until the very end when our server may have thought of tip time. We will try it again eventually, because it is a restaurant with a fabulous reputation. Note to restaurant managers -- remind servers (and cooks) that if you are having a bad day, go home if you can. You are actually hurting your boss's business if you can't be at your best. read more

Just your average brunch fare in a cozy diner with friendly staff. Nothing bad, but nothing to write home about. The country style bene with cottage cheese and tomatoes was as expected and the bene burger was fun but quite messy haha lots of yummy but slippery ingredients in that one. We've been there twice. Omelettes at five minutes past opening the first time, and mixed breakfast and lunch the second. The Philly Cheese steak omelette has been the best of the bunch, but everything has been good. The cons are few. The seating is a little cramped, as it has always been. One English muffin was not quite what you'd hope for (but the one on the next trip was fine), and, in the second trip in, we had to wait just long enough for service that we said, "Did she forget us?" Overall, and especially considering that they're still pretty new, it was a good experience. We'll go back. read more

Let me start by saying the service was great and the place was clean. The food fell way short of what we expected. Definitely very pricey for what you get and mediocre quality at best. My husband and I had been curious about this little diner for quite a while, so we stopped in on a Sunday for breakfast. We shared the veggie omelet with loaded hash browns and a side of biscuits and gravy. Veggie omelet and biscuits &gravy were spot on, but the star of the show was the loaded hash browns. It's so good, we would come back just for that. Service was excellent, we were certainly not neglected and received the appropriate amount of attention from our servers. It was a little confusing when we first entered as we weren't sure if we should seat ourselves or wait. It is a seat yourself type of place but they really should think about putting up a sign. The service was great with a really friendly staff. There were 3 of us and we each ordered different food. Husband loved the eggs Benedict, friend loved the Country Fried Steak, I had French Toast with a side of bacon which was also good. The only problem was the very tight fit of the booth. We are not large people at all and could barely slide in. It was really uncomfortable and for that reason we won't return. Glad we tried it though. read more

4 weeks ago I ate there for the first time. I fell in love with their butter infused syrup. I asked the waitress if could purchase some. She explained they may get each morning for the day. After coming back from the kitchen the waitress told me that if I called before I came in the next time, They would make a double batch and sell me half. Last weekend I returned to Spokane and Maddies. I called 3 times the day before I was planning on going the next morning. The last phone call I was told someone would call me back. No call back. The next morning we went for breakfast, I spoke to the same waitress. She remembered me and our conversation. She apologized, Took my phone number and guaranteed the owner would call me that day. No call, no syrup, no acknowledgement. In my opinion, this is a poor way to operate a business. read more

Great breakfast! Great service. Had a chicken fried steak and it was perfect. Excellent attention to detail because the eggs were done perfectly over easy. ( A difficult task for others in our fair city). My friend has an allergy to eggs and had the loaded hash browns with peppers and onions and it was excellent flavor. Coffee was even good! read more

A gal pal and myself went to check out Maddies. The place was busy, clean and well staffed. I had the chicken fried steak and it was delicious and enough for a minimum of two meals (and I am not mad) so I got to show it off in the break room the next day. The service was good and the staff friendly but the food was marginal at best. They're very proud that the use beef tallow to fry in, but it made my turkey melt sandwich greassy and heavy. My dining partner had a philly cheese steak omelet that left her underwelmed. The meat was so finely chopped it was more like hamburger and seemed like it had been warmed up reather than cooked to order. The booths were also extremely narrow and uncomfortable. The bottles of hot suace on the tables had thick black rings of goo around the top when you took the lid off. Yuck. We won't be back. read more

Oh boy where to start! Ordered chicken fried steak breakfast. The breading was mushy, the meat like undercooked chewy pink and red hamburger patty. Was disgusting, hadhbroend were undercooked. My Hal's and half cups I poured into coffee were curdled pieces floating non top. The jam I think was pourable strawberry thin and runny. i didnt eat mine, my daughter and son in law ate some but had stomach ache last night. You can't sit in a booth very small and tight. It's a cute place but they need to change their cooking staff and make it bigger. Needless to say I will never go back. Was horrible!!!!!! read more
