Country style bene ($16) and bene burger ($17)
    Ellen P.

Just your average brunch fare in a cozy diner with friendly staff. Nothing bad, but nothing to write home about. The country style bene with cottage cheese and tomatoes was as expected and the bene burger was fun but quite messy haha lots of yummy but slippery ingredients in that one. The intimate spacing could make for a cute date spot!

Chicken Fried Steak with scrambled eggs, hash browns and toast. Extra crispy Bacon (as requested) and eggs over medium with sourdough toast!

We had the best breakfast! HUGE Chicken Fried Steak, that tasted so good! My wife had Bacon and Eggs and everything was cooked exactly as she asked. The service was top notch and the cafe is so cute! Highly recommend!

The service was good and the turkey melt delicious. Great to see the owner working hard as well as employees.

The huckleberry mimosas were the initial attraction and while not bad, not the highlight- a little too light on the champagne and a little too heavy on the muddled huckleberries. I would definitely go back.

What a fun experience! A must in Spokane…read more This restaurant is inside of an old dining car and has been in business since 1931! The inside as shown in my picture is very charming and old timey. Allow time to wait for a table unless you are just one or two like I was and able to grab a seat at the bar. I was able to sit immediately. The staff is very amiable and the hostess made the recommendation that I try the Caprese Benedict, which had fried tomatoes in place of bread, fresh basil and blood orange balsamic drizzle. They offer the option of one or two Benedict, which is nice if you aren't super hungry. They also give the option to smother the hashbrowns and cheese, which I obviously opted into. The menu is absolutely massive though, so if Benedict's or even breakfast aren't your jam, you should be able to find something that suits your fancy. Also worth noting that they offer a very wide variety of gourmet flavors of house-made juices (7 or 8) for mimosas, like honeydew melon mint which I tried as a soda with soda water since I was driving.

I really want to like this restaurant, this was my third attempt and I have to say I won't be…read moretrying it again. Firstly the drip coffee was horrible. We told the server it tasted burnt & old so she offered to make a fresh pot. It was just as bad, when she asked we said it was still really yucky and she said that a lot of people don't care for it. I ordered the tamale waffle. The beef was great, eggs were a bit overcooked but no biggie, the waffle was really hard and dry. It needs some sort of crema sauce or something. It wasn't horrible by any stretch but it wasn't great either. My mom got the veggie breakfast burrito and she liked the veggies though it was bland, felt like it could have had more sour cream & cheese. It was massive and came with a side. The added 16% service fee is some real BS. It says on the receipt that it's split between the server & the kitchen staff. Call me old fashioned but I thought it was on the restaurant to pay their staff a living wage. At $18 a breakfast plate & $4 for drip coffee you should be able to pay your staff. And then we're supposed to tip on top of that? Nope.
