Oh my goodness! This place is a hidden gem! My Dad and I found it one morning searching for a breakfast place. What a nice surprise! Tip: order the ham! They give you a big slab of fresh ham and it's so tender and juicy! It is really homey feeling, it's pretty small and the tables are close together, but that's part of the fun! They get super slammed in the mornings! It's crazy! The girls who waitress there are super friendly and do a great job! I don't know how to remember everyone's orders! I love the location too! It's like off on a back side road with trees around it! Definitely recommend!! ‍ read more

The place is cute but very crowded. Also our waitress had ridiculously long fingernails, all kinds of tattoos, and facial piercings. You have to wonder about the sanitary conditions of these things when you're dealing with serving food, handling cash, and clearing people's dirty dishes at the same time... read more

Food is great and feels like home cooking. Chicken Fried Steak rocks! Service is fast and they really turn over the seats quickly so the wait goes by fast. The Blue Plate theme is noticeable throughout. Well done!! read more

local small diner experience. The coffee was NOT it. I added one small half and half and the coffee became see-through light colored & was essentially water with tint of coffee. However, if you enjoy very weak coffee, then you would like this place. It's unassuming, cozy, and the food was acceptable otherwise! Jam was very sugary, didn't seem homemade. Yummy crispy potatoes, eggs good. The service was average. read more

Amazing service, delicious and flavorful breakfast, and comfortable atmosphere! The people are kind and attentive and the service is quick. The place is quite charming and I would 100% return to eat here again, I highly recommend checking this place out! Blue Plate Cafe - Today's Special: Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes, Eggs. and Potatoes - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Hayden, Idaho

Been here twice, once for lunch and one e for breakfast. It's a small mom and pop place and the food is pretty good. The servers are friendly and attentive. It's worth return trips. I wasn't blown away by the food but I love the small vibe and I will definitely keep returning. read more

Very small cafe that was packed. Maybe because of their prices and choices of portion size. The room was very crowded and the conversation noise made it difficult to talk. I was optimistic that I would get some home made biscuits and gravy and was very disappointed when it was the peppery, gummy gravy from a can and not home made. The bacon was very greasy as well. My husband's pancake and eggs were very average. read more

Let me start with we were in Idaho for a family wedding and we are from New York and this place was suggested for breakfast. I can honestly say this was the best experience and food that I have ever encountered. We went back every day while we were there. Family run business with good food and such a pleasant atmosphere. Five stars is not enough!! Do not miss the opportunity!! read more

Each and every time the café gas been just great, and I've been coming here for years and years

Great service, food and atmosphere. Staff are awesome! Ty hey are simply one of the best places to eat in town.

Very good food, fair prices, and my only hesitation about returning is that it seems to be a "good old boy" establishment. Don't think I could ever get entirely comfortable eating here. I would not discourage anyone else from going as long as they can handle this aspect. Good luck to everybody there, just not my cup of tea. I'm sure I'm not welcome back for saying that and that's fine with me. read more

Cute place out of the way. Was very busy on a Saturday morning. Inside was small and tastefully decorated . I can't remember sitting on a more uncomfortable booth thought . Pretty bad. Seems like most breakfast places kind of run together . I mean, let's face it , an egg is an egg. Right ? So how to compare it to the others? The lady servers were great, above average. Friendly and attentive. Three of us got omelettes. I got the veggie one and it was very good . What is cool is that they have different sized omelette for different appetites. Large portion of average tasting potatoes. Fours pieces of toast and homemade jelly. Even had full size containers of creamer . They had an amazing child hot chocolate in a sponge bob cup! Many of these extra touches make it above average . Check it out . Get there early. I have spoken. read more

Great local breakfast spot with reasonable prices. The staff are friendly. One feels welcomed

Great breakfast place. Efficient and friendly staff. Go early as they fill up. They are quite efficient seating customers. Great and tasty breakfast items. Price is great too. read more

Blue Plate has great service. The place is always busy, so it is a local favorite. I had the eggs Benedict and it was ok. I would have liked more lemon in the sauce. The potatoes were super hot and crunchy, which I like. My partner had the kitchen sink omelette which was good. I am giving Blue Plate a 3 (because I can't do a 3 1/2) and because the atmosphere needs updating and the food is fair. I am sure it is dependable and consistent but I think there is better. All in all, a good, filling breakfast with good service. read more

First off, this review should have happened a long time ago. Kim and all of the staff at The Blue Plate Cafe are my extended family. We moved to the area in the Fall of 2016 and found our way to Blue Plate in early spring the following year. Since then, Google Maps has recorded either myself or accompanied by family there on 213 separate occasions (at the time of this review). If you are looking for a good staple, classic diner, offering good food, good value and good service, look no further. These people treat you like family, the good kind, the kind you want to be around. By this time, I've had nearly everything on the menu, and their specials are great. No frills, no fluff, just a good experience and consistent food. Everytime. As an electrician by trade, my only gripe is that the light fixture in the men's bathroom has been missing the glass for 6 years. read more

Excellent. I would highly recommend this place very nice and friendly staff very quaint and amazing food.

Selfishly I fought with myself in regards to writing this review as I don't want it to get so crowded I can't get a seat, but I decided to "Do unto others" and let you guys know about this awesome place. The food is really good, well prepared, lots of it and for a really fair price. Its very cozy and homey, and the waitresses couldn't be more kind, helpful and professional. I wish I could give it 100 stars. read more

We have eaten there on several different occasions to give different days a try, thinking maybe a different cook will be better. It did not matter, each time we were disappointed with our items. You know how you always hear about those special small Mom and Pop cafes that serve AMAZINGLY good food, well here they are. Small but with outstandingly yummy food, they have reasonable prices, great little menu, homemade soups to die for, and portions that will fill you up. Come here hungry and go home full, that should be their motto. Definitely try a soup and half sandwich special, they change daily and always seem to be especially good. A little out of the way but SO worth the drive to find! read more

This is my home away from home. the food is GREAT and it always comes out hot--unlike some restaurants. The staff is super and they greet you by name after a few visits. What ever I order for breakfast I always ask for only 1/2 of the potatoes because they are not skimpy with them. Their gravy is to die for--never had better. If I had to choose I would say my favorite breakfast is hamburger steak and eggs with a mini gravy on the side for dipping my potatoes in--uuuum uuuuunh Morris read more
