Just an update to my previous review. I inadvertently put it under the Fort Street Mall location whereas it should have appeared under 1003 Bishop Street. Also, since I prefer to support local businesses, I decided to purchase one of the few items left after the lunch rush: a Tofu Salad with peanut sauce on the side. When I got it home I discovered it was 2/3 romaine lettuce with a couple of baby tomatoes and about 10 slices of braised lemongrass tofu. The cost was $14!! As much as I want to continue to support them, the cost for a salad of mainly lettuce isn't going to happen again.

If you work in downtown and want to get Thai food plate lunch/banh mi/pho, this place is pretty good. There's one location inside pioneer plaza and another location on bishop street across from pokeway. bishop one is more spacious with tables to sit down and eat inside.

Passed by this place to drop off some paperwork. Inside is beautiful and spacious. Lots of places to sit if finding in. They offer not only banh mi but also pho and okazuya style of Vietnamese and thai dishes. Would come back if in the area.

For lunch, we were looking at getting banh mi. I've never been here before and I've only heard good things about them. We went to their Pioneer building location in downtown. Called it in and was ready in 15 minutes. I got the BBQ chicken banh mi. It was nicely packed and not messy at all. The bread was fresh and the carrots and daikon were tasty and pickled good which paired well with the bbq chicken. Also got the spring rolls which were also tasty. Overall, it was a great first time experience. I would definitely come back.

This is my go to when I want pho near my office. They can make veggie pho with tofu upon request. I sometimes get a mini plate from the buffet line, it's a lot of food. They are pretty heavy on the garlic so be prepared if meeting people after lunch. The masks can only filter out so much smell... I often get their sandwiches too. Their outside kiosk has grab and go bentos.

Decided to wander up the road to get some Chicken Pho because I was feeling a little under the weather. Yup, it really hit the spot!!! The food is always fresh and yummy! You can order inside or outside where they have the bahn mi sandwiches and salads.

The Lunch Spot (Pioneer Plaza) had a long line so I headed to the glass counter at MMS Saigon to pick up a banh mi sandwich. I selected the bbq chicken banh mi from the counter and the cashier toasted my sandwich and enjoyed a savory Vietnamese sandwich for lunch. The sandwich is tasty but not very big. I had to run over to 7-11 to pick up some chips to supplement my lunch.

Looking at the last time I reviewed Madame Saigon which was about 5 years ago but I am still patronizing this establishment because they make good eats and very friendly. They have also opened another location at the Bishop Square next to Jack in the Box. Box stores are very clean and good presentation of their food offerings. They also do catering for any large events and have delivery. We recently had a Christmas office lunch and ordered assortment of summer rolls, spring rolls, garlic chicken (oh do they make good garlic chicken!), garlic fried rice, pad thai and mixed veggies. Everything was a hit as it usually is and our team loved the food. They have good hot entrees and make excellent banh mi sandwiches to order.

Order of summer rolls (2), and side of chicken wings (4 pieces) plus a canned drink = $9.94

Decided to try this place because I always see such long lines. I wasn't too hungry, so I got shrimp summer roll... but while waiting to pay, I saw chicken wings that looked really good and the lady working said they already sold 1 batch of it (and this was by like 11:15am). So, I decided to get a side order (4 pieces) of the chicken which was I believe $3.95. For the summer roll, chicken wings and a can of juice.. it came out to a few cents under $10.00 Shrimp summer roll: fresh and tasty, what you'd expect Chicken wings: OMG I inhaled these things... so glad I tried it! I was a little hesitant cuz the lady said it's made from fish sauce... but these wings were sooo good! It was sweet, sticky and garlicky all at the same time, and the cilantro on top paired great with it Overall, the prices were decent though not as cheap as other places downtown, but the food was delicious :) I'll definitely be going back again

    MY WRONG FOOD
    Mika G.

I've been here a couple times.... the food is typically good and fast and it's always busy so you have to wait. But today it was not busy... there was a new girl at the cash register and not the usual owner. I was so excited for my warm curry and sticky rice only to find out THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG MEAL!!! Yes I should've checked but it was all in order and when I called the way it was dealt with.... I ordered a mini plate with sticky rice, Pannang curry and green curry. I opened up my plate and found half brown rice, half pad Thai, Pannang curry and green beans with tofu. And top of it MY FOOD WAS COLD. I watched them put my food in the plate and I'm guessing the cash register lady messed it up. When I called to let them know because this means someone else has my food so they are also most likely unsatisfied and she just said sorry. I am very disappointed because first off I got the wrong food and next the food was cold.... All I have to say.

Upon stepping foot in Phở Quê Hương, I was transported back to Vietnam (or Orange County, California-- have your pick). Phở Quê Hương is located in Honolulu's Chinatown, so we get an interesting demographic mix of diners. (I believe I observed at least one Hoa family order in Vietnamese and then converse in a Chinese language.) I wasn't so attentive to the precise linguistic profiles of my fellow diners because of how distracted I was by the food. However, it is a salient pattern I am observing in Honolulu: seeing many non-Viet people coming to eat Viet food. I know Vietnamese cuisine has become more globally mainstream, but I suppose I am so used to existing in Vietnamese ethnic enclaves. The menu offers a great selection of Vietnamese food, including dishes I had never had before. The bún chả Đà Nẵng is not at all similar to a bún chả Hà Nội, so don't get them mixed up! Bún chả Đà Nẵng was more like a bún riêu without the riêu: a nice tomato soup with a serious umami flavor going on. (I was getting notes of cheese even, in a really good way.) My first time having a non-vegetarian bò lá lốt was here. It was tasty, although I was getting a spicy note that I wasn't sure where it was coming from. The tràng đặc biệt was delicious and familiar. I always love wrapping things (amateurishly) with rice paper. The name "Phở Quê Hương" is apt, but it isn't just phở but rather all the dishes that feel like they arrived straight from Vietnam. If you are interested in more traditional Vietnamese fare, give this place a try.

I heard they will keep this space for special events. The restaurant is quite busy and I'm glad we had reservations. Good thing I was there prior to lunch hour opening, otherwise we may lose our reservations since the person who made reservations tends to be habitual in arriving late. We dined in May, but it's been awhile since I first dined here. I preferred dining in Chinatown during lunch time than at dinner. Our waiter was really nice and helpful. I forgot his name, but I remembered that his eyeglasses that he wore was cool/funny, since the frames for each eye didn't match the other eye! lol. Funny it wasn't me who first noticed it. One was square frame and the other was a round frame! The restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays except may write Happy Birthday in chocolate on the dessert plate that you purchase for the birthday person. Their desserts are unique and refreshing. I think there are some rotating desserts /flavors like their seasonal menu for their main menu. I guess you can always keep coming back without being bored of the menu! I was bummed to see a previous dish posted of a pasta that I wanted to try that wasn't on the current spring seasonal menu! When we dined for brunch over the weekend, I was able to get the Hainan chicken with the crispy roast pork combo. It was very filling , tasty and satisfying. I do love ginger sauce on the cold ginger chicken but sometimes the chicken is just okay. This Hainan chicken was really good and the chicken was really moist! I thought it was the best I've tried! It was good that I wanted to takeout one last time in August before they moved! No more the 50/50 combo with the crispy roast pork on the lunch menu during the weekday. It was on the spring menu. Of course it's best to eat it in the restaurant than for take out. Bathroom is a must for me when dining out and they had only one shared bathroom for everyone! There was a guy who tried to make several attempts but wasn't successful, since there was always someone in the restroom. I'm glad the waiter told me there was a bigger separate bathroom with several stalls for men and ladies upstairs. You go straight through the kitchen to catch the elevator and to another kitchen /storage area! Thank Goodness! Best wishes at your new location. You offer yummy and tasty food!

The food is authentic and super delicious; the pho broth is the best that I have tasted, very clean and no msg (at least I can't tell). We have tried a lot of the menu items throughout the years; our favorites are: - combination pho - rare steak and meatballs pho - oxtails soup/pho - grilled pork chop rice - crispy spring rolls - summer rolls - beef salad (my wife's favorite, she orders it every time) - roasted pork and lemon grass chicken banh mi sandwiches - roasted pork and spring roll vermicelli bowl - the special combo wrap (very tasty but you have to wrap it yourself; some may think it is fun, but I am lazy and prefer to have it made and ready to eat) The prices are very reasonable, they haven't raised the prices much even when the food cost keeps going up. I believe they have some deserts, but we have never tried any, because their portion sizes are generous and we're usually too full to think about deserts. Park is s street parking, but we usually park in the municipal lot across the street. The rate is very reasonable, a couple dollars for a couple of hours. It is credit card only; there is no parking attendant, you pay using the paid machines in the middle of the lot or at the gates. I hope you will give Saigon a try, I think you will love it too.

When we arrived, we were the first guests so got to pick our table. When we sat down at the pretty wooden booth, there was a happy hour menu on the table. What?!? And YAY!! There was a 2-for special on the cocktails and you could select from the full menu which featured an extravagant and eclectic selection. There were wine and beer specials too but we were here for the cocktails. From the happy hour menu, we ordered the vegan spring rolls, chicken wings, and the Bo Ne Steak--a Vietnamese breakfast with bone marrow, cubed steak, sunny side eggs and a baguette. I can vouch for the spring rolls, light and crunchy without being oily. I don't eat land animals but my friend said the wings were divine. And they give you gloves to eat them. So civilized (ha) and a nice touch! She loved the bone marrow and steak. There was so much food she didn't finish it so I took it home to the hubby who devoured it. No complaints and only smiles from him! I wanted to try a couple pescatarian dishes from the regular menu so ordered the lemongrass clams which was AH-mazing! Could have been my favorite dish of the night because the flavors were unexpected but undeniably good. And, the garlic salmon bun (vermicelli noodles) was fantastic. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce was savory yet light. I've never seen this option at any other Vietnamese restaurant and it certainly elevates the traditional dish which usually comes with meat, tofu, or spring rolls. (You can still order the bun with these options and they let you choose your protein combos.) Finally, (I told you there was a lot of food) we ordered the banana blossom salad. I rarely see this offering at other Vietnamese restaurants. It's hard to describe but I refer to this dish as the red-carpet version of the green papaya salad. It's more dressed up and sophisticated. A real treat and a must-have if you're dining at An Di Dzo. Parking was easy since it's at Ward (by the theaters or you can park anywhere in the village). The restaurant is clean and modern. And the service was courteous and professional. Our server Alex was great and made the evening extra special. An Di Dzo is open for lunch and dinner. Been wanting to try Vietnamese food that wasn't Pho or Bahn Mi…read more Got the beef salad and for someone who doesn't eat rabbit food, I gotta admit it was good. The dressing was really good. You already know the beef was good or it wouldn't get a good review from me. Got the spring rolls which was nice and hot. Wrapped the spring roll, noodles and the carrot & daikon with the lettuce and dipped it into the sauce. Winnahs. For the main entrees got the crispy fried noodles with seafood. It's like the Vietnamese version of Chinese seafood with cake noodles. Very crunchy and tasty. Lots of seafood. The other entree was the combo sizling plate. Yes, the plate was sizling. The plate had pate, sausage, meatball, beef and a fried egg. I've never tasted anything like that before. It's not the usual taste that you're accustomed to but i enjoyed it. I thought it was good. Both entrees and the salad are good serving size. I like the spring rolls and wish had more but that's just me. The service is excellent even though it was pretty busy. The waiter apologized for being late but it was quite understandable. He's so polite. The lady who might be the owner was very pleasant and personable. It was a very good experience. The only thing that might be a slight problem like any other restaurant on Kapahulu is parking.

I'm usually more of a spring roll person, but these were so good and something I'd definitely order again. I had the brisket pho, and my boyfriend got the beef and flank pho. Both were delicious, and the broth was flavorful and comforting. I'm pretty particular about Thai tea, but theirs is always really good. The restaurant is small and fills up quickly. The service is always good and the food comes out fast. If you're in the Aiea area and looking for a solid pho spot, Pho Time is worth a visit!

This place has terrible service. I ordered a chicken salad and sandwich with soup, to go. My order…read moretook well over 20 min; as I waited there, multiple notification tones rang throughout the restaurant, it's annoying. When I placed my order, I told the woman, "no cilantro" on anything. When I received my order, the soup was missing. When the woman brought the soup, I said again, "no cilantro." She said, yes. I paid and left. When I got home, I opened the salad and noticed a pile of basil and what appeared to be cilantro. It tasted like cilantro, too. So, I went back to the restaurant to return my order, as I no longer wanted any of it. When I got there, the woman told me that isn't cilantro, it's "culantro." She said she would refund my salad, but not the sandwich and proceeded to argue with me that she was doing me a favor because the salad did not have cilantro, even though she very well knows they taste the same. In any case, I left my entire order and was only refunded for the salad. I will dispute with my cc company. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE
