Came here for dinner with my family of 6 and the server was so accommodating! The server also spoke Chinese which was perfect for my family since we primarily speak Chinese. Their menu is very expansive, we ordered boba and Chinese food such as soup dumplings and duck. It was so delicious and came out very fast. We also got fortune cookies after. Not a lot of ambiance. The servers were friendly and Chinese-speaking, although there was enough English spoken to have no difficulty communicating our orders. Food was served pretty quickly but was just okay. I had steamed vegetable dumplings that were not bad but we suspected they might be frozen from boxes. Same for the spring rolls, which were served with some kind of clear oil rather than a sauce. The General Tao's chicken was mostly breading. The Mongolian Beef wasn't crispy the way it should've been and wasn't particularly flavorful. We wouldn't return to this restaurant. read more

Better Pad Thai than Thai Me Up. The portions on all their dishes are good for the price. Quality and taste itself is good too but not go out of your way good if you don't live in South Side. I got Mad Noodles for takeout recently after wanting to try their food for quite a while. I ordered the vegetarian steamed dumplings and hibachi fried rice w/tofu. I had a bit of a hard time ordering non-meat options from the online menu since a lot of the items didn't have descriptions, but it ended up working out fine. Both the dumplings and rice with tofu were big portions and tasted great. The dumplings came with a special sauce, but I ended up eating them with soy sauce instead. The rice and tofu had a nice, unique flavor unlike other fried rice and tofu I've had. Would definitely eat here again! read more

I think the rating is too low for this place! I actually quite enjoyed some of the food I had from here. The menu is super broad and has a ton of variety. I tried the pork buns and pad Thai. Seeing the name, you may think their specialty is noodles. I don't think so! They should really be renamed to Mad Bao or something because their pro buns and dumplings are what actually stood out. The bun was so fluffy and had the perfect amount of casing to meat. The meat was well cooked, tender, seasoned well, and just all around delicious. Perfect crisp on the outside. And, a pretty nice savory sauce too, but that wasn't anything crazy. I would really recommend trying one of their dumplings. The pad Thai was not as good. It was a big portion, yes, but quality wasn't the best, and it was a tad expensive. It had a strange sugary sauce, almost like sweet n sour noodles. I just wasn't the biggest fan of this pad Thai. All in all, I quite enjoyed this spot. If you come here, you definitely need to try the buns or dumplings! read more

If you wanna be mad come here. Worst customer service, worst pho. I was here for ten minutes 8 mins waiting for my food, 2 minutes telling the customer service if they can add meat in my pho cause it literally taste nothing. Love this place! I have ordered from here on two occasions now and both times the food was incredible. The veggie dumpling appetizer was so good. Sometimes dumplings can be too doughy, but theirs are just right. My main dish I order is the general tsos tofu. I order it extra crispy. A lot of places struggle with my tofu, but they know how to do it here. It is just as crispy as a piece of fried chicken and really holds the sauce. The food was reasonably priced and gave you a good sized portion. The food was also very fresh and clean. We got: Singapore noodles, salmon and tuna sushi, general tsos shrimp, and broccoli and shrimp. The only thing is that the food was kind of bland (something we all thought). I can't believe I don't have a review yet for Mad Noodles, they are my absolute favorite restaurant in South Side! Their menu is so full of too many delicious options which I've tried many of! I wish I had photos saved. Their curry, pad thai, and steamed pork buns (delicious dipping sauce) are my go-tos and recommend to anyone. I should've walked away when I relized the smell wasn't pleasant and the bar was completely empty of anything. The food was okay at best (dumplings/noodle soup). I ordered General Tso Chicken and after a few bites I realized the chicken could be old or simply did not taste good. After 10-15 min of waiting for a "how is everything?" gesture, I asked for the plate to be removed from tab/table. The server refused to accommodate us in any way. I assured him I would leave a tip for him if he could remove the plate from the tab but he still refused. He tried to say I finished more than 30% of the plate which was not true. We decided to leave him cash short of 3 cents (no tip). Not happy with the exchange of words and feelings after that but we left very unhappy. read more

Unfortunately this is the most bland tasting Asian food my boyfriend and I have ever had. I ordered the Singapore noodles with chicken, shrimp, beef, my partner got the shrimp pad Thai, and we also ordered crab Rangoon and the duck pancake appetizer. The Singapore noodles were incredibly bland and flavorless. I should have known from the photos on here... They look bland! I only got a spice level of 1 but spice does not equal flavor. Reading online what Singapore noodles are supposed to be I was so excited to try them. When I say they were flavorless I mean it... There was no type of sauce on them, they were basically colorless.. The only flavor was from the little bit of onion and peppers. The Pad Thai was not good either, not bland but something was off. My bf said it tasted like there was too much of 1 ingredient and whatever that was completely took over and made it unenjoyable to eat. Neither of us went back for seconds or even ate our leftovers. This is the first time ever that we didn't eat our leftover Asian food! The crab rangoons were decent which is why I gave 2 stars. Duck pancakes were not great to-go so I don't want to really judge them based on that. All in all we won't be ordering from Mad Noodles again. read more

I ordered the Thai Flat Rice Noodles and was impressed by the flavor! The noodles themselves were a great texture and had their own spicy flavor. The peppers, bean sprouts, and onions in the dish were cooked perfectly to still have a little bit of a crunch. And the chicken was not moist and seasoned. Serving size was massive! I had enough food for at least 3 meals, which is awesome for only paying $12. We also ordered the Steamed Pork Buns as an appetizer and they were delicious. Very airy and fresh, with flavorful pork inside. The sauce they provided on the side really made the dish. It had a little bit of a kick, but complemented the other flavors in the buns. Atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. We had a small 2 person booth near the bar, but it felt intimate enough to have conversations all night long without having to shout over noise or be distracted by other guests. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. She came to refill our water glasses whenever they came close to empty and checked on us, but also gave us our space to sit and enjoy the night. Stay AWAY from ordering from this restaurant. I placed an order on line for vegetable lo mein. $12.95 plus .91 tax, and i added a 15% tip (2.08). Total should have been $15.94. I get there, and the total they presented to me was over $17. Since I didn't have my information as to what i was quoted with me, when i got back to my office, i called and told them about the discrepancy. I was told the prices changed A LONG TIME ago, but they forgot to update the online menu. REALLY????? Also, the receipt they gave me actually showed the total being over $17, and a blank TIP line. Ordered take out one night through DoorDash. While we did have to wait 20 or so minutes past when they said it would be ready, it was worth it. We LOVED every bite. I had the Thai noodles which were just the right amount of spice. I could have used a few more veggies but overall, it was great. I don't remember what it turned into after because I never went but thought the new name was clever and had to check it out and it did not disappoint! The bartender, (who was also our server), Holly, was a doll - we loved her! Super friendly and always checked on us - really great! As for the food, first of all, I'm obsessed with pork belly so as soon as we saw pork belly 'sliders' as an app it was a done deal. Perfection! For our lunches, we got the ramen (with pork belly) :-) and also the Singapore noodles. The ramen broth was like a miso - so flavorful and delicious. The Singapore noodles were out of control delicious. Will be back for more Singapore noodles for sure and will try other dishes. read more

SO HAPPY!!! This place used to be M&J bistro, but has done a complete 180 and I'm thrilled! My s.o. and I had an unused Groupon for the old place and were reluctant to try it under the new name/concept. We dragged ourselves here on a Wednesday and got to business. We ordered the Thai fried rice, Singapore noodle and Japanese Ramen. All were so delicious and so flavorful. We got the rice with mixed meat, spice level 4. Singapore (level 4) is 10x better than across the street. Ramen was so good and some of the better we've had in town. We just got back from Japan and this will be our new spot for ramen for sure! This was hands down one of the most disappointing take out experiences I've had. We ordered the lobster and steak hibachi, a salmon hand roll, and the leo shogun roll. All of it was terrible, but the worst part of all was that the hibachi wasn't even hibachi. It was a soupy stir fry that came with nothing but a side of rice. The lobster was extremely over cooked. Still yearning for flat noodle-y goodness, I ordered the stir-fry beef entree. Fairly satisfying, but that's not what I'm here for. It was a bit of a letdown. The server was nice enough, but she wasn't terribly attentive. It came out fairly quickly, but I would've rather it come out a little later with lots more flavor. I decided to order here for delivery through Grubhub a few days ago. The order took super long to get to my house, but that's Grubhub's problem. I ordered the lunch portion of the general tso chicken with white rice; all of the lunch prices were great (About $7-$8). They also give you an option with your lunch portions to choose either an egg roll or a crab rangoon. They didn't specify that only one crab rangoon would come with the meal, and that choice was my one regret. I would have chosen an egg roll instead because one crab rangoon was a tease and left me wanting more! As far as the chicken goes, I wasn't very impressed. I would have been mad if I paid full price for it. It tasted like the chicken you'd get at a really cheap Chinese restaurant, and one of my pieces had tons of bones in it. I would not order a Chinese food option off of this menu again. I'd definitely give the Thai options a shot (plus the crab rangoon of course), however this experience didn't necessarily leave me wanting more unfortunately. read more
