I'm gonna hold on a strong four stars for Macy's after shopping them several times for Christmas. The service at the perfume counter was excellent and I made a purchase. The extensive stock of varieties of fragrances was quite remarkable. I was taken back by the prices, but they offer quality products like Chanel and Dior. I also got a watch adjusted from their watch department and was very satisfied. Unfortunately they were short of staff, so the wait exceeded 30 minutes. The adjustment was complimentary. Finally, my daughter tried on shoes and received excellent service. However, she did not find what she was looking for. I will continue to shop Macy's. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I tried multiple times and multiple departments to get a sales associate in the jewelry department on the phone. Multiple departments weren't available by phone. The 1 that did answer my call stated they would try to reach the jewelry department. Instead of my call being transfered my call was disconnected. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

Went into the store yesterday 12/12/23 to pick my orders and forgot to bring my order numbers. I gave the lady in store pickup my phone number three times along with my drivers license and even offered my Macy's card to look for the order. She declined my Macy's card and told me that was only used to slide it. She also did not locate my orders. I explained to her previously I did not have the order number and another Macy's employee found the order. No orders and she picked up a device stating she was timed and went outside to curbside pickup and left us standing in line. She said maybe the other employee could find it. The other employee was also no help and kept asking me to look in my emails for the order. I apologize that I did not have the order, but neither were of no help. Yet when I went to Nordstrom to pickup my orders there and showed my id and card they found my order. I called Macy's on the toll free number and Chester located my information. So with my order numbers in hand I went back to the store. The employee said "oh you are back." I was like yes. I had other things to do and was not going to be going back and forth. So I called Macy's myself and got what I needed. The employees yesterday seemed not to care and rushed. Then I find out yesterday after arriving home and reviewing my last order to be picked up that they cancelled it. I gave them no permission to do that. I will be shopping less with Macy's. read more

Feeling a bit discriminated against. Always been a Big Macy shopper but made my first trip to Lynnhaven looking for some women's plus size tops (Karen Scott long sleeve t's) and after walking all around a jammed packed 1st floor of many designers found a small corner of plus size near the mall entrance. What was there was so dark and "frumpy" I dont know who would wear. I am use to other Macy's carrying a wide selection so was even more disappointed that there were NO dresses or professional attire. Of all the Macy's in the 757 area...they have to be my favorite!! A larger selection...a larger store than most. Seems like they always have a sale here and I love it. Now it does stay crowded no matter what day of the week...of course holidays and weekends it's packed here. But this store keeps a crowd. And that says a lot I believe...go Macy's! We came in here last night to find a Ralph Lauren shirt for my husband for an event we have to attend this weekend. The store was very neatly organized and tidy for a Friday night. We were in the store for a good 30-40 minutes but surprisingly NO ONE who works in this area ever asked if we needed any help or if we were finding everything ok. My husband tried on his shirt and we checked out. The cashier was very chipper and playful with my toddler. She even thanked us for shopping and invited us back. Had it not been for that, I'd probably give 2 stars. Next time he wants Ralph Lauren, we will go to the Norfolk outlets because there's is of course, a far better selection of clothing. read more

latest visit, midday during the week. this place is crowded and always abuzz with shoppers. I shopped here in the Juniors section a lot when I was younger and I could not have been more happy with the selection. But now, at 30, most of the clothing styles are too young or way to mature. And while the attire in the Juniors department does not appeal to me, that is what fits my frame size better that what is available in the women's departments. Since the search for clothing here is futile, I favor the purse, shoe and jewelry sections. I always shop the sale and clearance sections first. If you get the paper, remember to bring your coupon. I went in with a $10 off of $25 coupon, which is worth an attempt at making a purchase. I was liking a sparkly earrings to wear to a wedding and picked up a pair on sale, two sales ladies saw me stretching my neck looking all around and asked if I needed any help. I explained that I was looking for a price checker station and they volunteered to help, ringing me up behind the watch counter. On this day with the $10 off of $25 coupon, I received an excellent deal on a pair of dangley earrings and two belts. Well worth the effort. read more

Shopping at Macys allows to find different products in the same mall what is very convenient. I would love to see some improvements, not my fav Macys... short options in shoes, home, sport, etc. most of trendy sunglasses, party looks or beauty products for example are not available in this area, what can be found easily online. This is a review from my wife Anastasia. Ironically, Macy's threatened her not to leave review as they stated, "Customers have no rights to leave Reviews"! Actually Macy's doesn't deserve the 1 Star review, but it's the only option. I went into Macy's at Lynnhaven Mall just a few days ago and to shop at the Shiseido counter, and then purchase clothing and some Christmas gifts. I'm a fair skinned caucasian originally from Eastern Europe, but a American Citizen - it's important for the reader to understand these facts before reading the full review. I also have to advise that I have a slight accent, however far less than First Lady Melania Trump who has been in the US much, much longer than I have. On previous visits to this same Macy's, I gave been asked where I was from due to accent - they would not take my answer that "I am an American". Very strange, as they can not hire based on National Origin, Age, Sex, etc. I so want to point out that this was less than a week after Black Friday, and the store was empty. I was purchasing foundation, and as the shades differ from every cosmetic company, and as they all have different names for their different shades, I wanted to try the correct shade before purchasing. The saleswoman Tatiana was angry that I interrupted her [i.e. from texting hidden behind the counter]. She then walked back to her little hidden cave, and came out and threw a sample at me. I didn't ask for a sample, but to try it in store. In my opinion this abuse was racially motivated. I went to hunt down manager [ unknown name as she had no name badge], who then came over to counter and was just as abusive. She advised Tatiana to test a shade on me many shades darker than what was I was requesting. She also used dirty sponge, and continued dipping it in foundation - apparently Macy's employees are not trained in hygiene. Manager advised she didn't know anything about makeup. Although I was so upset from this racist abuse and harrassment, and to save time going to different store, I purchased 2 Shiseido Foundation anyway for $79 plus Tax. It was also a way to get relief from the 2 of them. Needless to say, I left the store without doing any of the other shopping that I wanted to do for myself and for Christmas gifts! I went to the car, and my husband suggested that I call back to the store and see I could reach the actual store manager. This was 4:45pm on a Wednesday, and I was advised store manager went home for the day, but would be in on Thursday and call me that day. This assistant to the Manager who didn't give her name, would not take a message until I gave her full events of what happened. After advising her of the above events, she then stated "Manager probably would not call me the next day, and had no idea when she would call". I then stated my only recourse would be to write online review on Yelp. This assistant to the Manager then threatened "You have no business to write review"! Based on the threat from the Store Managers Assistsnt, I called a different Macy's in the area, and was given the name of the District Manager "Metro" and his telephone number. I again had to give events to his assistant, who promised callback the next day [Thursday]. Well, Thursday came, and no callback from Store Manager or District Manager "Metro". As I didn't receive either callback, I went back to Macy's to return both products. I was proud to then walk through their empty store - employees falling over one another with no customers in sight to go to Sephora to make the purchase of a different brand. Jump ahead to Friday morning, an unnamed " so called" manager calls, and is angry at me because she doesn't t know anything about makeup! I advised her I would rather shop online than be abused at her store. She offered nothing to me, but to talk to employee. Have no idea why she called to waste my time. Not even sure if it was Store Manager that called, or just the other abusive employee who claimed to be the manager. Macy's thinks they are safe from ever closing down. Remember these chains with same attitude: Toys-R-Us, Sears, Payless Shoes, Sharper Image, Tower Records, Borders, Sam Goody, Circuit City, Dress Barn, Babies-R-Us, Kmart, the list goes on and on!! read more

Great experience buying and returning luggage. Luggage was defective. Clerk called around to find the piece I wanted at another store. While she processed my return she handled 5 customer transactions. Of course my one experience is representative of the whole store, but that one very nice and helpful employee left me happy. read more

Service non-existent. Picked out over $200 in clothing and wandered around the entire first floor of the store looking for a cash register to pay. The only register that was staffed as the customer service counter which also does returns. That person was working with one customer on a complicated credit card issue and didn't know how to use the computer. Behind that gentleman were four other people standing in line meaning it was probably a 20+ minute wait. Finally found a cashier in cosmetics but she had to make three trips back to the mens department including removing security tags she forgot about getting a garment bag and replacing a broken hanger. It still took 10 minutes to check out there. The only point of going to a department store versus shopping online is service. I had merchandise I had money but it is clear that Macy's doesn't care about revenue. read more

I am not a fan of Macy's, as in the whole concept of the store. It's tacky and over displayed. I do feel like I'm being suffocated every time I go in to the store because its over crowded. There is not much space to walk around most especially between floor displays because the store is over stocked. Wall displays and other features on the floor has so many products. I believe customers should be given enough room to shop and be comfortable walking around. Don't get me wrong, its absolutely wonderful store but I think its not for me at all. I like stores that are more spacious and minimal. On the brighter side, this particular store is the most organized among the other branch in Hampton roads. Contrary to popular experiences, I managed to get a friendly lady to ring me up - and she scanned me a coupon. I mean, department stores are on the decline due to staffing issues. No one was really on the floor because they were busy ringing someone up. The service was a little too great because she handled clothes carefully. I'm pretty simple, so I told her to throw my stuff in a bag. I typically enjoy Macy's for their sales. I will never pay full price and kind of laughed at some of the prices of their cheap af jewelry selection boasting of silver yet feeling like straight up plastic. I'm honestly a weird shopper alone because I make savage jokes about selection to myself 99% of the time. Whatever, ya girl honestly hates shopping. I managed to find 3 dresses on sale for 40% or more. One casual; one for going out; and one for a wedding (I think it's acceptable). I managed to snag another 10% off because of the last available dress that definitely seems like it got caught on something. 60% off a dress though? I'll take it and hand wash the thing. I think with patience and digging, you'll find something great on sale. I specifically browse their selection for dresses and attempt to match affordable jewelry with it- but it seems Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe are better locations for that. read more

I registered for my wedding with my husband here and if you register for certain amounts of some brands they'll give you a bunch of free things. Where do I begin. Placed an order it went to a store over a hundred miles away from the store I asked for it to be delivered. Asked them to make it right by sending the item to the store I requested. The response at the store was sorry here's the customer care number. This is where it really got fun. After explaining the situation placed on hold and disconnected the first time. The second time the only response was "Whoops Sorry". when I called back and requested to take the survey the same exact response whoops sorry! When I requested a manager I received the same whoops sorry no one is available. If it had been as simple as canceling and reordering I would have done it. The inventory was low and no longer available in the size I needed.HOW HARD IS IT TO SHIP FROM ONE STORE TO ANOTHER TO KEEP YOUR CUSTOMER WHEN YOU MADE THIS MISTAKE TO BEGIN WITH!!! I'm not a fan of shopping but when I do have to buy things I like going to Macy's. They're the only department store that I know of that has dress shirts that actually fit me. Tonight I dropped a ton of money on new bedding sheets. We arrived close to 9:30, 30 minutes to close, yet the lady working was so helpful with us. I picked up some 750 count bed sheets and pillow cases, a duvet, duvet cover and a memory foam pillow. Damn this ish isn't cheap but since I sleep for 25% (I wish 33%) of my life I need to be comfortable. I had lots of questions and spent a good amount of time looking for things and our sales lady was quite helpful. The store is bright, carries great brands, always has a sale (who doesn't?) and is a pleasant place to shop. Definitely one of my favorite department stores! read more

My mom's birthday is coming up & I wanted to get her a Chanel perfume so I headed to this Macy's. A lady named Narjes was working, and saying she was rude would be an understatement. Obviously when you buy perfume you would want to test smell it. I asked to smell 1 and she was already annoyed. When I asked for another she acted like I was bothering her (FYI I wouldn't have asked for any help if they left the sample bottles out on display like what most places do. Instead they were all stowed away behind the counter so it's impossible for customers to test any without help from a rep). I was so thrown off by her attitude that I left without buying. But thanks to her I headed to Dillard's (also in Lynnhaven) and was helped by the nicest lady! I'll definitely go to Dillard's for perfume now. read more

I went shopping at this particular location this past weekend. It was Saturday, around 1 pm and it wasn't too busy. I'm guessing the weather kept most people at home, or maybe nobody felt like shopping at Macy's that day. Which is fine by me because sometimes Macy's is CRAZY busy. If crowds bother you, don't bother coming on the family and friends day or the beauty spectacular day. We are talking about hundreds of extra people in the way. But what I like most about this Macy's location is how much more product they have in stock and the different designers for women's clothing. The Macy's at Military Circle and Greenbrier never seems to have much variety. The professional women's section (upstairs) has a large selection of business wear that leaves me wishing I had my own personal money tree growing in my back yard. I love you Calvin Klein! I often search the clearance racks and find great deals. The casual women's section (downstairs) has some of my most favorite designers - Alfani, Michael Kors, and INC. Again, wish I had my own money tree. But seriously, the clearance racks always have great deals! This location is always very organized and clean. They have a large shoe department too! read more

Macy's gets an A+ when it comes to the ease of returns. Some of my family received clothing from Macy's that wasn't really their style for the holidays. Today I had the chore of bringing a teenage girl clothes shopping, and I will admit that I was dreaded the trip to Macy's. As it turns out the trip was a breeze. Of course Macys is one of the biggest and most well known department stores in the whole world, so it's pretty much expected that they would have it all. But the last time I was in Macy's I was pleasantly surprised to see something I would never have expected: A growing collection of vintage rock band t-shirts! Vintage Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and more have their own racks and seem to be growing in number every time I pass through. Sporting that worn look that denotes vintage, Macys' rock tees have authentic designs that make you feel like you really were lucky enough to score an original Jimi Hendrix tee from his 1969 tour. read more

I am an avid Macy's shopper. Now this Macy's is not the best in the States BUT it is the best as far as the Tidewater region. No other Macy's compares to this one at Lynnhaven. The shoe selction is AMAZINGGGGGGGG!!!!! I mean they have an extensive shoe selection. Actually they have an extensive selection of everything at this location as opposed to smaller locations like Chesapeake Square. I had to make a different branch out from Lynnhaven Mall. I think this Macy's location is awesome! Of course, it isn't going to be as grand as other locations...but all of the merchandise is great-love the lines that they carry there (i.e. Betsey Johnson jewelry, Nine West handbags), the sales that they have, and all of the employees that I have encountered are super friendly! I stopped at this Macy's to visit the MAC counter. My objective was to see if I could be matched with foundation colors. During my visit only one representative worked behind the counter. Since I'm just becoming more brave and branching out in the world of cosmetics, I came with more than a few questions about the products and tools of the trade. Shout out to Ashley who patiently answered my questions. While she was working on me, a dozen or so people came up with questions and purchasing needs of their own. Since Ashley was the only MAC rep, she had to stop and help them. I was gracious and understanding. I totally get it...one employee for a specialty department whose products & services aren't exactly always a grab-n-go type. I was there for a while. There was a point where I felt bad because it sorta seemed like Ashley felt bad that it was taking a while. She was professional and kind to me and the others who walked up for help. read more

I have always loved Macy's but had an experience yesterday that was very alarming. I took my husband shopping for new shirts for work. We picked out several he liked and we took them to the price check machine to make our decisions as to which we would buy. Once we made our selections and went to the register, my astute husband noticed that as his shirts were rung up, 5 out of the 10 shirts we were buying had significant price discrepancies! In one case the price check had said a shirt was $44.99, but the register said it was $59.99 - a $15 difference in just one shirt! The cashier would not have made any corrections if my husband hadn't spoken up. She kept saying, "I don't understand why this is happening!" and giggled nervously. I said, "The cash register seems to have selective memory." I wasn't laughing! Moral of the story: Keep an eye on those "sale prices" - they sounded good in theory! read more

Do not shop at this store that do not stand by there products. A family member recently purchased a table and fpur chairs and the delivery personal unpacked the product outdoors on the concrete sidewalk and damage the product. Instead of the delivery personal taking the product back they left the damage merchandise and forced the unnecessary repair process to be conducted. Who processed the repair request as refusal of repair attempt. I am trying to understand how in the world do you expect a person to pay for a product that was chipped by their delivery personal. My family member has been a customer of Macy's over 40 years and they have never been so disappointed in the way Macy's handled this return. I plead with all of the consumers of Macy's to beware.
