A very, very, very tardy review for a mall that I have shopped for over 20 years. Lynnhaven Mall is the lone survivor and is thriving with over 95% occupancy. A few of my favorite stores are Dillards and Macey's'. With department stores dying these two do well. Another favorite is Apple which our family has purchased products from over the years. The overall appearance has changed over the years for the better and continues to be a draw for business who want to sign leases. If there is a negative it can be parking, but that's ok. That's the price of success. I will also say the lot is clean and secured. I will continue to be a regular shopper at Lynnhaven Mall. read more

Even if you don't buy anything the people watching is worthwhile. And like the older lady that I am, it's a great for just walking around the whole shebang. I grew up in Virginia Beach, so I remember when this mall had two stories and a carousel inside. Ahh, the good ol days. Not to mention a much better food court than the small corner it has today. Ah well. An AMC movie theater, trampoline park, and a Dave & Busters are attached along with multiple box stores: Barnes & Noble, Dicks Sporting Goods, Old Navy, H&M, Macy's, L.L. Bean, and Dillards. An Apple store, which I believe is the only one in Hampton Roads, and a Sephora (for all those tweens who can do their makeup better than me) is inside too. In the center of the mall, they host holiday events such as getting your photo with Santa and the Easter Bunny (not sure of the price), as well as the Bra-ha-ha (a fundraiser of multiple decorative bras to support the fight against breast cancer) and trick-or-treating on Halloween at select stores. If you have little ones, the large play area with the massive whale upstairs is gone (obviously, because the whole upstairs is gone), but they've replaced it with an enclosed "Tot Lot" outside of Barnes & Noble. It's also pictured. Currently, there's still a pet shop next to JCPenney, so don't leave until you give the puppies (and maybe two cats) a wave hello...or a new home! With multiple lots and a free parking garage, you're bound to find a parking spot too. read more

Decent size mall, my wife and I just came here visit the Apple Store!. My only complaint is there is not enough parking spaces in this lot at the mall so on a Saturday afternoon be prepared to ride around for a while trying to find a spot, unless you get lucky and find someone coming out as you are passing by. Huge Lynnhaven Mall fan! Since many local malls are dying, this Virginia Beach Mall is my go to. I enjoy walking the mall, shopping at all the stores, eating at the food court or outdoor restaurants, and even attending the movies right outside. This mall is fantastic and I just love going here when I get a chance. I just hope we have this Mall for years and years to come. Also, the shops nearby surrounding the mall are great too. read more

As someone who was raised in VB but hasn't lived there in over 5 years, I'm surprisingly impressed with how Lynnhaven is still staying afloat while all the other malls in surrounding areas are closing. Obviously I miss the old vibes of older Lynnhaven but the recent changes definitely fit the new aesthetic that the city is acquiring. I'd give it a 5 star but that food court ain't it... the old Lynnhaven had a second floor solely for that and now the food court is forced into one small area with not enough restaurant options or seating. Her mom (my friend from first grade) suggested that we go to Lynnhaven Mall because of the: -free parking (we parked in the covered area -air conditioning -clean -safe -good lighting -variety of shops (Dillards, JC Penney, Sephora, L.L. Bean, Loft, Old Navy, Forever 21, H&M, Barnes & Noble, Macy's, etc.) This mall also has a Food Court. We didn't have anything here, but quite a few people looked like they were enjoying their dining experience. AMC (movie theater) is also here. I worked at Dillard's when I lived oceanfront Virginia Beach, as a weekend "gig" [2nd job]. It's been a minute, but based on recent reviews, it seems as if the mall is still in good shape, clean, well-managed, and plenty of on-site security. Back then, parking was kinda tough. They needed more parking spaces. Even though I lived less than 8 miles from Lynnhaven, there's traffic. Because of having to "clock in," I recall numerous instances of jogging into Dillard's to try to beat the clock! Dillard's was well stocked, well organized, and a nice place to work. It was also nice to have the extra spending money and to get an employee discount! I'm happy to see this mall, in a land of dying malls, is still viably serving the Hampton Roads area. read more

This is my favorite mall due to the very large Sephora located inside. This Sephora has brands like beauty blender which is never in other Sephora's so I frequent this mall because of that. Also I enjoy the many stores and food places here. The best part is you don't have to pay for parking like at MacArthur and there's plenty of it. Even if you have to go park next door at other establishments there's just so much parking and entries to the mall it makes it so easy. The shopping choices I feel like are better than other malls here as well. It contains a movie theatre, lots of open space and great lightening. On a nice summer sunny day, there's actually a lot of natural light that comes thru and makes it nice to order a drink from the Starbucks and sit down on the nice chairs and just people watch. read more

What a huge mall with plenty of things to do. Lots of stores, food court with a ray of choices, and a movie theater. There are a lot of places you can sit down to rest or eat. The food court is one down side to this mall. When they had the 2nd floor and the food court was up there it was a 5 star mall. The mall seems like it is struggling. Hours have been cut down. So check before you go and think they are open. Also after a certain time young people cannot walk the mall by themselves. They must have an adult with them at all times, Stores come and go so check before you go if your going for a specific store. read more

I found everything I was looking for at Lynnhaven Mall. I found jeans that fit right and a long sleeve T-shirt that doesn't shrink at L.L. Bean. I could have spent my retirement check there if I hadn't reigned myself in in time. I also found magazines, coffee, and amazing Christmas Cards at Barnes & Nobles. That place is a wonderland. They have a lot of places I could while away the time in. Places I enjoy. I hope to be able to return soon. read more

A friend recommended Reed's at Lynnhaven Mall for Jewelery repair. The staff was kind and courteous, the repair was done quickly and professionally. The repair was on a piece that holds a lot of sentimental value for a friend who had suffered a loss. Knowing this, the staff returned the item in a lovely box and bag. I was able to return the repaired item to my friend with the lovely packaging. And the price was absolutely reasonable. A very positive experience! read more

This is currently the best mall in the Hampton Roads. I think malls are becoming a thing of the past. As many store front business are going out and moving toward online or e-commerce. Lynnhaven does have a lot of empty stores and small businesses occupied. There isn't much of a good selection or any many major brands. One thing that keeps them going are all the additional exterior restaurants, Dave & Busters and Jump. The hours are really ridiculous. They haven't readjusted their hours since the pandemic hit. The hours have made it very inconvenient to shop here for occasions which leads me to shop at other stores or online. One major recommendation is to bring in more businesses and extend their hours to pre pandemic hours. read more

I grew up coming to this mall. I have so many great memories of hanging out with friends eating Lucas pizza and playing at Aladdin's castle. Over the years it has made a lot of changes. I went today and for the first time really realized that I don't come here for a purpose anymore. Just to kill time or to walk when the weather is too cold. Stores are closing left and right and the ones that are still there aren't for me. Really hoping some new up and coming stores make it in quick before the traffic flow lessens. read more

Refreshed and renewed and I'm lovin it. Bright open spaces. Excellent lighting, Cool new flooring. Very much appreciated resting areas scattered thought the wings. I was almost floored when I saw the completed food court. My my my I'd love to eat here. I didn't, I just sat for a while to rest and marveled at the re-do. Floor to ceiling flat screens streaming video. New food spots, but in my opinion not quite enough. An abundance of seating. Even bar type seating that faces the interior of the mall, perfect for you people watchers. Upscale store additions like Apple and Michael Kors. read more

I've been going to Lynnhaven mall since 05 and have watched as it's evolved into this newer, more industrialized upscale-Ish mall. With the new renovations and everything being on one floor instead of two, Lynnhaven mall is definitely more open concept -- making it feel huge and more bright. With the new renovations came a larger variety of stores to suit all ages and different markets rather than, and in addition to, the typical mall stores. This mall is definitely well taken care of and it definitely brings all of the stores that I usually have to go to different malls to all in one (Apple store, L.L bean). My only qualm about this mall is that the food court being on the first floor seems so inconveniently placed there. I think they could have done away with the rest of the second floor but the food court should have stayed on top. It gets super crowded and feels like 'threading the needle' when navigating through it because of how the seats are placed. read more

Restrictive hours (7 PM closure) make it very difficult for working citizens to accomplish shopping/business at this mall. It might've been understandable during the pandemic, but we are years out & there's no excuse anymore. Factors like this are unfortunately why online retail is thriving and malls/brick and mortars are declining. read more

In the Virginia Beach area, this is the mall to go to. With the normal assortment of mall stores and name brand shops, the mall has a good layout and many good options (unlike Pembroke). We didn't come to eat a meal, but the Cracker Barrel and Carrabas outside would be great choices. read more

If I could give it zero I would. I have been going here for years but since 2020 this mall has gone down hill tremendously. My son (18) and his two friends (also 18) were stopped by security once where my son showed a form of ID, his other two friends don't have license and therefore didn't have a form of ID. Then were harassed again while sitting at a table quietly waiting for me to get food not even 20 feet away. Even after waving they wouldn't leave till I walked back over to the table. These kids caused no issues, I was in the mall, they simply just wanted to shop. If you don't feel like being harassed by security for "looking under 18" then I wouldn't recommend going here. Terrible experience, the security was completely incompetent and rude. Wont be visiting again. read more

Jewel time employees are threatening customers that are complaining about their faulty products! He literally said to me that he was calling security to teach me a lesson! Only because I bought a chain less than six months ago and it's broken on me twice already and I've already paid almost half of what I paid for the actual chain in repairs for the chain! I filed a complaint with Lynnhaven Mall management. Let's see if they do anything about it. read more

Well there is certainly a lot to cover with Lynnhaven mall. I've been working in the mall for roughly six months now, so by far I would say it's most noteworthy feature is its patrons. Every weekend morning young mothers come to the mall in groups, not to shop, not to eat, not even to organize for significant group activities, but rather to exercise. Every Friday morning you will see packs of Tiger moms, ranging in size from two to seven stroller pushers power walking laps from JC Penney to Dicks Sporting Goods. Some days you will find them following up their power walk with a yoga session next to the cinnabon; almost as a challenge to their own efforts to cunningly evade local gym membership fees. The tiger moms however, are a mere distraction for common curiosity by comparison to the Saturday ecosystem. Tweens, hoards of unsupervised tweens descend to the mall Saturday early afternoon. They can be observed shouting and hitting each other playful display of comradory. Some of the senior more intelligent tweens can be found rotating around the Cinnabon scavenging for free samples or climbing on advertisement displays to seek amusement from irritated employees. A new species known as the furry, a close relative of the North American otaku, has recently made its way into the Saturday Afternoon ecosystem. Experts do not know yet precisely when they entered the Saturday afternoon ecosystem at Lynnhaven Mall, but they lingered long enough to produce furry/mall rat hybrids, identifiable through their clip on fox tails, Quicksilver tank tops and frosted tips. It is unknown if the furries will thrive in this environment long term but they are off to a great start. In addition to the clientele the mall is pretty nice. There are three different wireless providers operating in the mall, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Lynnhaven mall also has a Best Buy Mobile store for further variety of cellular options. There is an Apple store and an FYE for electronics shopping. In the mall you can find both a Spenser's Gifts and a Hot Topic in case you have a preference. The food court is great except for Taco Johns. It clearly says on the Taco Johns menu, two tacos for $2. This is deceptive marketing designed to draw in would be customers away from competitors. The customer service representative at the counter will explain to you that the sign is meant to imply $2 per taco when you order two, like you're getting a deal. That is clearly not what the advertisement is meant to imply, it is meant to make passers-by believe that Taco Johns is offering a dollar taco deal up until the point where the customer has already waited five to ten minutes in line thinking about tacos and unable to back down after being deceived. I will admit, Taco Johns does use higher quality ingredients than Taco Bell, however that does not excuse lying about pricing, even indirectly. read more

This mall holds a special place in my heart. I've been coming here my entire life so I have seen it go through several changes. I even had my very first job at Lynnhaven mall lol. It's hands down my favorite mall in Hampton Roads because it's the one mall that has every store that I like. I can come here and shop for myself, my toddler, and my husband. My favorite stores here would have to be Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret, Forever 21, Old Navy, H&M and Sephora just to name a few. My only issue with the mall is how they took out the upstairs food court and moved it downstairs and made it smaller. However there are plenty of nice restaurants right outside of the mall. I'm not nearly as much of a mall rat now as I was in my younger days but I will say that shopping here is still a very pleasant experience. Great selection of stores, always neat and clean and plenty of parking. read more

I think it's time for an update for my previous review since Lynnhaven Mall has been through some serious renovations in the last 2 years or so since I wrote my initial review in 2013. It's much nicer - I've been frequenting this mall for quite some time since I moved to Virginia Beach in 2007 so I like to think I have a little street cred with it - haha. In the past few years they've added stores like, Vera Bradley, Apple, White House Black Market, Sephora, and Michael Kors. There is a nice high-end tattoo parlor and Dave and Buster's now by Dick's Sporting Goods. There are also a few stores I wouldn't expect like Altar'd State which has cute home accessories (like wooden sayings and mugs) and even cuter clothes and accessories for decent prices. The anchor stores are still there: Macy's and Dillard's and Forever 21 (it looks like an anchor store with a huge store and it's own outside entrance). Old favorites remain like Swarovski, Things Remembered, Yankee Candle, Francesca's, Banana Republic, Express and Buckle (though I really don't shop at any of the last three anymore now that I'm older and only shop at WHBM and Nordstrom....) still - they're there if you like them! Aside from Nordstrom and Pottery Barn, I can get everything I need at Lynnhaven now and don't have to drive to Norfolk to MacArthur Mall! Gone is the second story food court with random seedy stores for perfume and watches and Jimi Hendrix scarves - instead that has all been sealed up and closed off and there is no longer a second floor. Fresh new bright tiles and bathroom updates (sorely needed) have been completed and the mall has an in general updated and clean feel to it. The new Food Court - located at the entrance across from the theater - has some new stores but also has the familiar loved ones (Chick-Fil-A anyone?) so it is much improved. It doesn't even look like the same mall and it's a pleasure to walk around and shop. They did a great job with it! read more

I would definitely love to give a shoutout to all moms who are nursing! This mall has a nursing room!! This changes the whole shopping experience, it's cool quiet, with switches to change the lighting a rocking char and changing table. Although you can have your preferences on feeding your babies, I prefer to do it from a comfy rocking chair and mood lighting to help the baby! This mall is a great shopping location with lots of parking, however access to the food court is slightly further than a normal parking lot. I would like to say they have a great variety of stores however their selection is slightly limited to some big name brands for my personal style (Abercrombie, Express, Banana Republic). I wouldn't shop here too often due to not having some of my favorite stores, however due to their nursing room it's normally my go to shopping location! read more
