Selden Market is such a cool little gem in the heart of Norfolk. It's full of small, local businesses and has a creative, welcoming vibe that makes it perfect for a casual evening stroll or a quick stop if you're looking for something unique. Whether you're browsing for gifts, grabbing a bite, or just exploring, there's usually something interesting going on. I love how it gives small businesses a space to shine. Definitely worth checking out if you're in downtown Norfolk and want to support local or find something a little off the beaten path.

We had so much fun checking out all the shops! Definitely worth checking out. Great service and friendly people at all the shops.

The building was smaller than I expected it to be. Cool spot for you to see small businesses. We got some really amazing waffles while they were here. It was quick for us. Wasn't worth the $10 parking fee in my opinion. I would say overall 5-6 out of 10. I would say check the website and see which businesses are here during your visit.

Go here and explore! Worth just a walk through to window shop the stores and if you make it out without trying one of the many food, coffee and snack places then you are better than me! Definitely a must visit if you're in the Norfolk area and walking around!

Went to the Filipino American Heritage Day Vendor Market this past weekend and had a really nice time. It was fun browsing around the different pop up vendors and the stores, as well. The vibe was enhanced by live music which was a fun addition! Shopping local is always fun to me especially when there re such creative people displaying their talent. I also like how there are four restaurant, two at each end, for those who want the sit down experience. Check it out!

5 star shops that were there. I'm giving Selden Market a 4 because 1/2 of the stores were EMPTY. My husband felt the same. We just felt like we were missing out on a 5 star experience. A few of my friends turned me onto Selden Market and they speak highly of the shops. I don't live close so we made a special trip. I did all my research before going. I looked up all the yelp reviews. Made my list of awesome sounding shops. We first stopped into Pure Lagos. It was so colorful it pulled me in. 5 star S'mores Amore was our next stop. This store was the top of my list and well worth my visit. 5 stars for sure Next was Slide Thru #FAM. Lumpia was the best. 5 star Next we had to visit Vessel Craft Coffee. Didn't know coffee could be that good. 5 star. We saw a sign for a couple of shops but no one there. We went on a Saturday because the reviews I read Saturday more shops would be there. So why were some just not there? We felt a little disappointed. But I am going to give the shops we went to great reviews

Place is awesome for pop up shops. Finding hidden gems. Great for supporting local and small businesses. There is a plethora of "good eats" available! From Smores! Fresh baked bread! Cookies! Filipino food! Desserts! Coffee! Fashion lovers- there's local artisans who makes jewelry. Candles. Cards. Face masks. Vintage clothing! Boutiques. You name...they have it. They have certain shops that are constant. BUUUUTTTT the pop up ones are the best! You never know what you will randomly buy! If you are looking for a gift that you know no one else will get....then this would be the place! Best time to go is during the weekend.

I haven't visited many times since my last review. Don't get me wrong, I still embrace the idea behind this indoor bizarre (low cost space for startups and small business to setup) along with the benefits of developing close relationships with owners/brands and other loyal customers. It's great for area companies or habitual visitors to downtime looking for artisan treats and treasures. My challenge is distance and convenience. I'm seldom (Seldom Market?) in the area, and when I am, it's usually not during their business hours. When you factor paying to park, I'm less likely to make a special trip. I due hope shops thrive and that the market grows; if ever in the area during open hours, I'll try to do my part, especially at Vessels coffee and S'mores Amore!

Discovered a new pip up shop location today. Had never heard of Selden Market but I see it has a lot to offer. There are some stand alone shops but a lot of the sellers are pop shops. Lots of cool places to check out.

Very nice gem in Norfolk! Similar to farmer's market but with local small business stalls in the center and standing shops/ restaurants inside! Small business vendors when I was there ranged from baked goods, organic artisanal soaps and body scrubs, and art. Houses some great restaurants and the Slover Library . Overall very clean and had tables to sit at in the center. See my picture for information on parking validation for garage nearby! There is some metered street parking as well.

Beautiful location that I've never noticed before, but can't wait to visit again! Located right by the grain, it is a tucked in gem. My friends & I visited for "Vintage Sunday's" which we saw advertised on one of the vendor's instagram. It's like a little hall of pop-up shops and I loved the vibes! Everyone was so sweet and welcoming amongst the variety of shops they had around. Unfortunately I'm taking a break from sweets & we just had brunch next door, so I wasn't able to partake in the goodies the shops had available but they looked great! There were at least 10+ vintage sellers inside with varying styles (and prices). Somewhat reasonable, but we did purchase a couple things. There was also a store called Velvet Witch with many 'witch' crafty things and I loved how knowledgeable the owner/employee was about everything. Definitely a place I'll come back to visit to see all that they have to offer. Also interesting that Slover Library + more are directly connected!

I came here for parking to visit the scope arena, and a nearby fair. I didn't really walk around but the fact that the food court only had two operating restaurants tells me all I need to know. The theaters are closed and honestly most of the stores are closed as well. So overall, great for parking to visit nearby businesses but it is sad as I had great memories of this place from about 20 years ago. Time has not been kind to malls in VA, in general.

Right now, though I love walking through it and looking at the paintings and the graffiti type murals that's on display I also really enjoy all the different art spots everything from the youth center to the display of the governor school. There's even a little train museum here. They still have a couple of staples open such as slush and Auntie Annie's pretzels. It is sad to see the movie theater closed and it's one of the best places to park at if you have to go anywhere downtown it's pretty inexpensive. We went to a play over a Chrysler and I had to pay a dollar to park. I will forever love the mall and hopefully when they do rebuild, they keep a lot of of the old soul intact. It is still clean but about half or maybe more of the shops are unoccupied, the food court is pretty sad, and one of the anchor stores is gone. The stores that remain seem to be very slow and overall there are only few customers in the mall. I think about 30 cars were near Macy's where I parked. The Mexican restaurant Abuelo's looks like it is closed down but signs are still there but zero customers so I think it was closed. The only store that looked semi-busy was the Chinese massage place where there were about four people being massaged and one customer waiting. I honestly was just looking around to get some exercise on a cold day but I really couldn't find anything I really wanted to buy even if I was searching for something. There were also lots of kids just using the mall as a playground but they seemed to enjoy the empty mall. The highlights of my visit was the sports memorabilia store and the pet store. They were also the only places that the clerks engaged me to see if I needed any help. I guess we have to just get used to the slow death of shopping malls in the future and realize online shopping is here to stay.

It reminds me of a two story version of Pembroke Mall (RIP). They renovated the mall since I was last there. It looks cleaner and modern(ish). There are a lot of vacancies including where Reignforest tea was. We walked the entire perimeter of the top floor once and then the perimeter of the bottom floor twice which was an estimated 1.5 miles. Not a very far walk, but it was with intensity. A few notable stores in the mall were Macy's, rack room shoes and bath and body works. Otherwise, the mall was pretty dead with little activity. The food court was the area that was most booming with activity but it still felt like a ghost town. If you've ever seen zombie apocalyptic movies, it kind of has the vibes like the mall you would be running into to escape from the zombies. Except the mall was already dead when it was open.

I grew up in Virginia Beach, so I remember when this mall had two stories and a carousel inside. Ahh, the good ol days. Not to mention a much better food court than the small corner it has today. Ah well. An AMC movie theater, trampoline park, and a Dave & Busters are attached along with multiple box stores: Barnes & Noble, Dicks Sporting Goods, Old Navy, H&M, Macy's, L.L. Bean, and Dillards. An Apple store, which I believe is the only one in Hampton Roads, and a Sephora (for all those tweens who can do their makeup better than me) is inside too. In the center of the mall, they host holiday events such as getting your photo with Santa and the Easter Bunny (not sure of the price), as well as the Bra-ha-ha (a fundraiser of multiple decorative bras to support the fight against breast cancer) and trick-or-treating on Halloween at select stores. If you have little ones, the large play area with the massive whale upstairs is gone (obviously, because the whole upstairs is gone), but they've replaced it with an enclosed "Tot Lot" outside of Barnes & Noble. It's also pictured. Currently, there's still a pet shop next to JCPenney, so don't leave until you give the puppies (and maybe two cats) a wave hello...or a new home!
