I've had to reevaluate my opinion on PTC - mainly because it's the best thing around without having to drive a while to get to Norfolk, Upper Newport News or VB - or even Williamsburg. So with that in mind, here goes; The Good: The food options are pretty awesome. If you haven't tried First Watch, Park Lane Tavern or Monsoon - where have you been!? The cinema really isn't the worst, the matinee prices are great and they accept military discount so Tuesdays are a great excuse to catch a movie for 5 bucks. You can walk around and go in and out of the shops as you please; Victoria's Secret, H&M, Francesca's, Bath & Bodyworks, Barnes & Noble and Finish Line (which is grand for fitting you with the correct running shoes for YOU in mind, and offers 20% military discount). The Bad: Shops don't seem to be able to stay open around here. I've seen a few come and go over the years and it sucks. And don't get me started on the additional PTC tax... but that's a story for another day. So overall, not bad Peninsula Town Center, still plenty of work to be done though! read more

My sister and I had been in the parking garage on the top floor for a little under 5 minutes. We were taking photos for my platforms (I do social media influencing). A security cart came around, didn't say anything to us. A few minutes later a security car came up to us and told us to leave because you were allowed to take pictures at the town center. Have never had this issue here or anywhere else before such as City Center. Was kicked off the property with no explanation of why taking photos of each other was not allowed. Wouldn't recommend going here. read more

Everything is here!!! Food, shopping, beauty, fun, music, books, you name it! With over 37 shopping stores and over 25 eating spots this Town Center is definitely your one stop shop! Plenty of parking along side the entire area, finding parking is never an issue. The employees in this town center all seem to love what they do! No one comes across as negative nor rude. I'd suggest any new to the area to go and check out this location! You will not regret it! read more

I don't come here very often since it's a bit of a hike for me but when I do, I'm not disappointed. There's great restaurants and wonderful stores to shop for almost anyone. There's a movie theater if you want to catch a movie. They have great restaurants of all types of cuisine. We recently went to Mezeh, a Mediterranean spot for a Yelp Elite get together and their food is fantastic! I can't wait to try out First Watch for brunch. They have a Target which seals the deal for me. There was not an issue for parking; there seemed to be many. I'll be coming here again real soon! read more

This place has potential, but it seems to be mainly chain restaurants, eyeglass stores and salons/spas. It was a decent place to walk around after lunch, and certainly felt safe with security guards present. I'm assuming this place is geared toward the military folks around, therefore more food and service type places. In the south, you can get away with this sort of outdoor shopping destination. Except when it's raining and then you're going to want something like, you know, a roof. Several restaurants here and of course the usual retail establishments including Barnes & Noble, JC Penney (a standalone!), H&M, Gamestop, Sephora and more. There is a parking garage that's free and then meters which may be closer to where you want to be, but are enforced and there is a two-hour limit on them. I saw signs for complimentary valet parking, but no one there. read more

I dig this outdoor mall. It has the staples. Claire's, VS, Teavana, Macy's, movie theater (a FANTASTIC movie theater), food places, central area for displays and hosting seasonal events, even a B&N for good measure. Also, there are some specialty stores sprinkled around. Oh, there's a college there, too. So, parking and "business" has those kind of peaks. They have workshare space/virtual offices (Regus) and apartments, too. Many of the independant shops are military and teacher friendly, offering discounts of 10% or more. read more

I would have put 5 stars a few years ago but after having gone there now it is now slowly becoming not as impressive. I would drop it to a 3 if there weren't new stores in the process of opening. We went yesterday and a lot of the stores are gone. Justice, Aeropostale, Delia. I don't know how long some of the stores have been gone or what the future plans are to replace them but it would be nice to see everything occupied. This center has so much potential. If it survives maybe we can have more outdoor malls. read more

What can I say! I love love love Peninsula Town Center. It's so hip and trendy. So many eateries to choose from and perfect for an afternoon lunch and power shopping and great for nightlife. There are so many bars to choose from too with outside seating which is a plus. I have never had a hard time finding parking. You May have to walk a bit but you will find something. A great place to bring out of town guests for a day of shopping or nighttime entertainment. And they just added Mod pizza. Or has that been there? ‍. I highly reccomend coming to this shopping plaza. I'm a huge fan of the Peninsula Town Center. There are tons of shops and restaurants and it's close to the mall as well if you need to go in Macy's or Dillard's. There is a very large Target in this area as well as a salon, a bar, and tons of speciality shops and restaurants. It's not nearby for me - requiring a ride through the tunnel to reach - so I don't often come but I have been about 5 times here and have enjoyed each trip. Around Christmas they have it decorated well and this is set up as more of an outdoor walking mall which is pleasant during warm months. read more

This place is just fun! Lots of interesting shops and restaurants. They have live events such as concerts and things for the kids here. A movie theatre and plenty of cool restaurants! Parking garage and shuttles to get you around if you like. PTC is a great place for anyone! I love how they partner with the city of Hampton to do good things during the summer months. And even during the off summer months it is GREAT! This place is so BEAUTIFUL FOR CHRISTMAS TIME! I highly recommend visiting when you are in town or just looking for something to do. Peninsula Town Center has it all! Night life, great restaurants, shopping, and great fun! The area has really taken a turn for the better in the last few years. I could stay around this area all day. My perfect day would be to have brunch at First Watch, do a bit of shopping, get a quick burrito from Chipotle, or if I'm feeling extra hungry go get a bite from Mission BBQ, then some shopping at Target and on to dinner and some drinks at Park Lane or Buffalo Wild Wings. I highly recommend any of the above restaurants. One piece of improvement advise I would give to the area is to get some better stores in the mix. There are a few I enjoy but it is missing those few that would make it complete. Maybe an Express or Urban Outfitters to name a few. The shops they DO have are very nice. I really enjoy going into the H&M, Forever 21, and The Sports Fan stores they have and my fiance enjoys Charming Charlies and Francesca's. The area is definitely on the up-and-up and I would definitely recommend stopping by for a great bite to eat! There are plenty of options. read more

I've been watching mostly from a distance since I live on the Southside and don't make it across the water much. Was there yesterday to sample Q Barbecue. Went on other occasions for The Pub, Chipotle, and Five Guys. The Target there has to be one of my favorites. Took a self guided tour to CineBistro - a multilevel playland with a movie theater, restaurant, bar, and 10-alley bowling. Looks like a good place to spend an evening. All in all, the Peninsula Town Center is shaping up to be a brilliant star. I'm looking forward to more restaurant and shop openings. Yeah...I got my eye on you! read more

There is metered parking. People are automatically discouraged by the sight, and find themselves fighting over spaces in the lot in front of the Town Center, shared by Target. I find this a little nuts, but I blame areas like downtown Norfolk. It's what we're used to. Here at the Peninsula Town Center, they participate in the Change for Charity program. Portions of the change you put in the meters go to area charities like the Foodbank. Every meter has a sign on it that lets you know. It is highly unlikely that you'll receive a ticket, as there aren't any cops doing that. But if you were to receive such, 100% of the proceeds go to the charity. Maybe that's why PTC doesn't hand out tickets. They wouldn't make any money for themselves. Get it? So park on the street. Do a thoughtless good deed and put some coins in the meter. Then enjoy an outdoor mall experience. It's the only real one in the 757, unless you count Williamsburg...and I don't. read more

Although it's a hike for me, I love coming to PTC. I've spent some considerable time there because of their weekly World Class Wednesday outdoor event along with an office that I rent upstairs a couple days a month. A few of my faves... - Monsoon - Indian restaurant - very good... great quality dishes - Hayashi Sushi - solid - Five Guys - I mean, who doesn't love their burgers? - Cinebistro - a place you can bowl without annoying ass kids running around Once in a while, I'll pop inside of Barnes and Noble for either a meeting or to randomly read. Target is within walking distance. How dangerous. Next on my list is Panda Express. Ya know, because I'm a Pacific Islander... Or to everyone else, Asian. read more

Pretty much everything was already said about this area. Metered parking, but plenty of farther away free parking towards the end near Executive Drive/Target lot. It's pretty much common sense that you will have to pay for convenience of parking directly in front of the store that you are shopping in. Get it together people, no need to whine about meters. What you should be crying about though, is the extra tax they tack on any purchase from any store in PTC. Check your receipts next time, and you'll know what I'm talking about. Overall, pretty decent shopping area. Their food/bars though, extremely disappointing. So if you're in the mood to shop at an "outdoor" mall, head on over since its the only one in the area. This is a really nice and new outdoor shopping center in Hampton. There are a ton of shopping options here like Game Stop, Forever 21, Barnes and Noble, Delias, Cream, Macys, and more. There are also places to eat like Five Guys, The Pub, Chipotle and a really awesome dining movie theater - Cinebistro. I walked around this center for a couple of hours a weekend or two ago and was really impressed with everything. There is a nice area in the middle of the center with benches for relaxing and conversing with friends. I think there may even be apartment and office space on top of some of the shops. This is a really nice addition to Hampton and I hope that it is a successful endeavor. read more

I'm very disappointed at how PTC has evolved. It has turned into a revolving door of closing businesses. One thing that started off wrong was their use of parking meters. I think that was a poor calculation on the part of management. Why are you going to ticket people who are coming to spend money. The meters were short lived. I don't know why businesses have not worked in this space. I've always said that they should use their space to attract people like they do in port Warwick with music, food and drinks. Before they put up this tile and flooring building on the Todd's lane side, I thought they should have used that lot for concerts and special events. It was unused space in the back of Macy's. I pray that this area turns around soon. read more

I LOVE PTC! Especially because it has the majority of the same stores that Mac Arthur Center has and I don't have to pay for parking or pay a toll to get to it. That makes it a WIN in my book. I'm usually here every weekend running errands in this vicinity...starting with Target and finishing up with one of the eateries in this area. The only thing that I don't like is the additional PTC TAX that is on every purchase. Disregard what another yelper said about this place catering to the military. I didn't know that only the military enjoy dining out and going to the salon and spa! There are many diverse shops in this center! read more

Do I like the Peninsula Town Center? Mehh... Sort of. Here's the problem. They throw a 0.5% tax on everything you buy there and, to be honest, they still charge exorbitant amounts for rent to the stores/restaurants there. There can be NO SURPRISE that places like Bensi, JW's, and Frank Beamer's left. They simply can't afford to be there. The other problem I have with the place is... why did they tear down Coliseum Mall in the first place? I keep hearing about how gangs were camped out there. Anyone heard of more security? Anyone heard of rennovations? How much revenue did the city lose in the time all of Coliseum Mall was rubble? Who likes shopping outdoors in the rain? The move was senseless. Don't get me wrong. It's a nice little area, and I DO like going there from time to time.. There are a few good stores there, but it's really not *that* special. Newport News is laughing all the way to the bank as they have the only indoor mall on the Peninsula now. To me, it's a classic example of the City of Hampton spending $millions to make $thousands. In another 10 years, PTC will have a number of empty lots and security problems all over again. read more

My fiancé and I really enjoy coming to this outside mall! They have a lot of great stores and restaurants. The main stores I usually go to include: Victoria Secret, Forever 21, Bath & Body Works, H&M, Petsmart, Charming Charlie and more! There are also plenty of restaurants to go to at Peninsula Town Center! There's Park Lane, Bar Louie, Chipotle, Five Guys, Monsoon, Abuelo's, Panda Express, Jimmy Johns, Buffalo Wild Wings, and more. The parking can be limited at times, but a garage was just built near the center. There is also a play area for children, which is very popular in the summer! I would highly suggest this outside mall due to the store selection and the variety of restaurants! read more

Ohhh gentrification, we meet again. I really and truly miss Coliseum. Though it was one of the more sketchy places to shop in the area, there was a bubble tea place AND an Up Against the Wall. Now this anomaly appears full of yuppies and stores that can be found in practically EVERY OTHER SHOPPING CENTER IN VIRGINIA (I'm looking at you Gamestop, Journeys and Victoria's Secret). I'm pretty much only giving the points I did because the JcPenny has a mini Sephora, and there is an H&M and Delia's (though I've yet to find this mystical place) and you don't find those outside of the larger cities like Norfolk often. read more

He looked up Irish romance and found some great options for me. He also found the books for me. I looked them over and he came back over to let me know about an Irish series, which I loved. The Peninsula Town Center is an outstanding and better replacement/upgrade from the old Coliseum Mall that was empty and outdated. There are restaurants with outdoor seating and also very modern clothing stores (ie: H&M and Forever 21). I am not a fan of the meters but I will say that I just get around that by parking in the Target parking lot or in front of JC Penny. Easy to get in and out of the location as well. read more

i have been to all the towncenters in the Hampton roads area and I like this one the best. It is the cleanest and nicest of them all.

Not much variety in stores for men. Also not enough restaurants. Parking isn't the greatest.

I love peninsula town center, they have so many different shops it's not hard to spend a good chunk of your time here. They have a variety of different places to eat, some of my favorites are chipotle, five guys, abuelos and the Greene turtle but the also have bar Louie, park lane tavern, Buffalo Wild Wings and more. You can either parallel park, some places have meters, or they have a bunch of parking by petsmart or by target. If you don't want to walk to a certain spot they have a trolley that makes trips back and forth though the center. Some of their shops include: petsmart, bath and body works, different shoe shops, Kay jewelers, GameStop and barns and nobles. Anytime I visit the people in the stores are generally very nice and are more than willing to help you. read more

The new mall in the heart of Hampton is simply amazing. It's got all the big stores, Barnes and Nobles, JC Penny, Gamestop etc, and great assortment of niche shops like Build-a-Bear, Chipotles and more. It is built in an open fashion, with lots of little parks and benches to break things up. Also doing the warmer months, they have a walk in fountain, which you can let your little ones run through. All of this wonderfulness comes at a price though, expect to pay a lot at the PTC. Prices in all of the stores are at a premium, plus there is an additional 'tax' on all purchases to cover the maintenance of the PTC...but you know, considering how great it is. I lived just outside Langley for a few months and went to this outlet 2 times. Both times I noticed the same things: Bars on multiple windows, cameras all pointed directly at the doors, signs for "NO GUNS", signs for "Security Cameras". These types of things don't usually go hand-in-hand with, "Welcome to our lovely shopping plaza!". And the reason they had all this signage/cameras/bars on windows makes sense. Both times I went I witnessed people blasting music in their cars, openly smoking weed while cruising through the area, multiple people trying to pick fights with random strangers, and other nonsense going on. Aside from the fact that I just flat-out refuse to enter any business that has a "NO GUN" policy, this place seems like a great example of how gentrification starts in low-income, poverty-stricken areas. Unless you're from this area or in a large group, I wouldn't go. read more

This mall pales in comparison to other outdoor malls I've been to. There should be more dining selections and places to park. The stores within the town center are alright but there should be more children's clothing stores and higher end department stores if they want more people to shop there instead of heading north to the Outlets or south thru the tunnels to Norfolk / VA Beach to do their shopping. The added taxes to shop the town center is the nail in the coffin .. We do not shop there anymore! read more

I love how involved peninsula Towne center is with Hampton! It's a breath of fresh air to see an establishment to continue to keep this shopping area clean and maintained. They also do alot of family friendly events. The Easter egg hunt was a huge success for the kids we brought! Along with candy filled eggs they also got a canvas gift bag with goodies for the kids and parents. All around a nice addition to this city. read more
