I came here for parking to visit the scope arena, and a nearby fair. I didn't really walk around but the fact that the food court only had two operating restaurants tells me all I need to know. The theaters are closed and honestly most of the stores are closed as well. So overall, great for parking to visit nearby businesses but it is sad as I had great memories of this place from about 20 years ago. Time has not been kind to malls in VA, in general.

Right now, though I love walking through it and looking at the paintings and the graffiti type murals that's on display I also really enjoy all the different art spots everything from the youth center to the display of the governor school. There's even a little train museum here. They still have a couple of staples open such as slush and Auntie Annie's pretzels. It is sad to see the movie theater closed and it's one of the best places to park at if you have to go anywhere downtown it's pretty inexpensive. We went to a play over a Chrysler and I had to pay a dollar to park. I will forever love the mall and hopefully when they do rebuild, they keep a lot of of the old soul intact. Very, very selfie friendly bathrooms and plate area still intact

The center of the surrounding buildings which once occupied the mall has been leveled. The plan as I understand is to build a senior living community.

After a years long renovation and redo - it's now more like the outdoor shopping malls of Richmond or Hampton. The old, moldy indoor mall is gone and now it's fresh and clean with a Bath and Body Works, REI, Fresh Market, huge super Target, Old Navy and Nordstrom Rack. There are more shops but those are the ones I frequent the most. Since Nordstrom sadly departed MacArthur a few years ago this is the only Nordstrom you'll find on this side of the water. It's not the same as the three-story beauty in Norfolk but it'll do - even if it's only their discount arm. I love the shoe section there. Best deals in town. This is an updated shopping center with plenty of easy parking and some dining (Smokey Bones anyone - nah, I'll pass) as well.

Friday and Saturday seem to be more overwhelming for me as far as how crowded it is. So you won't catch me here on these days. But if you want good stuff that's higher value this is when it's available. This is definitely a get in where you fit in kind of situation. Everyone is doing their own thing and it's busy. There are bins in the center and off to the side they have regular priced items. You can literally find anything in here. From clothes, electronics, home decor, pet items, baby stuff. Some items are broken so pay close attention. I found a shiatsu massager, a speaker, a white noise machine, and so many other things. This place gets my adrenaline pumping. Definitely check them out!!

The items for sale were mostly boxed in their original packaging, but of course, some packages were opened with merchandise hanging out of them. I was overwhelmed at the process. There are so many people in there that it reminds me of a New York street flea market. The checkout line was long, but it moved well. There were store employees to help you if you had questions about the pick and pay process. My friends loved it and bought as much as they could. They were happy about the low prices, and they enjoyed the shopping process. If you are in the mood for pulling and picking for the best prices on clothes, small appliances, houseware, furniture than this store is the place to go to get great deals. Great for new homeowners, new apartment purchases, birthdays, holidays, etc. Please read the other reviews for more details on the daily specials and tips for picking. I was personally overwhelmed and had to leave them shopping. My friends were so happy that they took me to Krispy Kreme to repay me for the ride, so it was a win-win for all of us.
