Sadly, this mall is just not a place for me. There isn't anything I would need to come here for other than when they display my child's artwork from school. I remember as a kid coming here often, but no major updates or stores have been updated. I stop in from time to time so my son can see the big truck near the kids play area. But really it's just to come to the target connected to it. Hopefully they'll be able to get updated or add some places worth coming.

Yooooooo... this mall has carpeted floors and seems like it's trapped in the 80's. I half expected a bunch of teens from a local community center start practicing breakdancing to save said community center. I was disappointed to not hear any New Wave music blaring.

The mall is worth nothing more than a cute picture outside. You walk In and there are no real stores. Food stores are littered between clothing which is gross. This is why there should be a food court. Beside this, all of the good stores (REI, Nordstrom's Rack, and Target) are only accessible outside of the mall. Great place to park to walk over to Town Centre for a great choice of food (Cheesecake Factory, Bravo!, California Pizza Kitchen, Ruth Chris) and cute boutiques (Anthropologie, Francesca's, West Elm).

Pembroke Mall needs to go the way of the Dodo, I'm afraid. The Kohl's is nice enough. The Sears has a bad-ass tool section. But as a place to shop generally? Uh, no. The only thing giving Pembroke Mall an ounce of coolness was the White Horse Pub and it's sadly no more. Perhaps I exaggerate a little. They are a couple of cool shops in Pembroke Mall, but that doesn't make up for its over all lack of shopping substance. Plus, it's a blight on the development of the Town Center area. OK, we're done here.

You can walk to one of the remaining restaurants and enjoy the beauty of the lit, tree'd streets with lights hung over the street. It almost felt like Christmas except with white lights and the humid heat of summer. Lights shine from the urban apartments in the buildings where one can live and walk to just about anything. The Plaza is a wonderful focal point. The vision of a planned Uptown, miles from the lights and glitter of the oceanfront, was a wonderful one. Upscale shopping, restaurants, housing and theaters abound. Grocery shopping is now available in the form of Trader Joe's, which occupies a space in the same area of Regal Cinemas. It is still clean but about half or maybe more of the shops are unoccupied, the food court is pretty sad, and one of the anchor stores is gone. The stores that remain seem to be very slow and overall there are only few customers in the mall. I think about 30 cars were near Macy's where I parked. The Mexican restaurant Abuelo's looks like it is closed down but signs are still there but zero customers so I think it was closed. The only store that looked semi-busy was the Chinese massage place where there were about four people being massaged and one customer waiting. I honestly was just looking around to get some exercise on a cold day but I really couldn't find anything I really wanted to buy even if I was searching for something. There were also lots of kids just using the mall as a playground but they seemed to enjoy the empty mall. The highlights of my visit was the sports memorabilia store and the pet store. They were also the only places that the clerks engaged me to see if I needed any help. I guess we have to just get used to the slow death of shopping malls in the future and realize online shopping is here to stay.

It reminds me of a two story version of Pembroke Mall (RIP). They renovated the mall since I was last there. It looks cleaner and modern(ish). There are a lot of vacancies including where Reignforest tea was. We walked the entire perimeter of the top floor once and then the perimeter of the bottom floor twice which was an estimated 1.5 miles. Not a very far walk, but it was with intensity. A few notable stores in the mall were Macy's, rack room shoes and bath and body works. Otherwise, the mall was pretty dead with little activity. The food court was the area that was most booming with activity but it still felt like a ghost town. If you've ever seen zombie apocalyptic movies, it kind of has the vibes like the mall you would be running into to escape from the zombies. Except the mall was already dead when it was open.

They were all so helpful. I do wish they had more colors and sizes in store, but you can always buy online. So sometimes I try on in store and buy online. I have shopped stores from coast to coast. The location is somewhat newer for Virginia Beach Town Center. Parking is free off street or nearby parking garages. The area outside has always been tidy. I have probably shopped with my kids around a dozen times. So I will compile experiences which are similar. The styles and designs are for a younger demographic that is a slimmer weight. They have athletic and dressier items. The company roots are in athletic clothing. The products are approximately 90% women, 10% men. So I'm out on the skimmer category. But really any age can enjoy their clothing. They are pricey, make no mistake. A single legging for ladies runs in the $100 neighborhood. For men the same with pants. They do have a sales rack to check. It's often slim pickings. Service 100% always 5 star. The staff is trained well and will bend over backwards to be helpful to customers. Also always super friendly and attentive. I have to admit they are trained to sell too! So you may be browsing and make a purchase. The store is always 100% 5 star clean and organized. The staff has very tight control over the the tidiness of the floor, changing area and checkout. Products and quality always 100% 5 star. LuLulemon makes it a company policy to bring quality to what they make. They also stand begins with a unheard of return policy of no receipt required and limited warranty period. Who else does this? Well I can't name another clothing retailer. My scorecard is a perfect 5 and of course we will continue to shop this clothing chain.
