For Christmas I got a gift card to Macy's! I was really excited! I decided I needed some bedding, so I went to the men's Macy's upstairs to home goods. It was really busy today, more so than usual. I made my way through the crowd to the escalators. In this store there is one up on one side of the store, and the down is on the opposite side. When I got to the escalator, it was blocked off and said please use elevator. Ok.. Where is that located??? Looking around I saw one employee walking around looking at her scanning clothes device. Not watching where she was walking, ran into me. I asked her where the elevator was, and age pointed me in the right direction. Once I found the elevator there was one employee in it and they saw me coming to get in. I said "can you please hold that?" and instead of waiting for me closed the door! Really?!? So I waited, it came back down with about 10 people in it and up I went. (It's only up one floor and the whole time I did not see a sign for stairs! Once I got to the second floor it was much less busy up here. No one asked me if I needed any help, which I guess I didn't... But anyways. I quickly found what I was looking for and spotted a young man at a register. His name tag said Anthony. I put my stuff on the counter. He explained he could not ring me up because he had just clocked out for lunch, and it he stays he gets in trouble. Ok... So I'm standing there staring at him, "is there someone that can ring me up if you have to leave?" I asked. He said "yah, let me find someone. Please come with me." So I started to follow him. We found an older lady at another register, hooray I can pay for my stuff... Nope.. He asked her if she could ring me up. He response " nope, I'm going on break." Then she starts yelling at him because he clocked out and there was not anyone at the register he left. Anthony apologized and we kept hunting for someone to check me out. Ridiculous right? Finally, we came to a register with an older lady and young guy were just standing there talking. She too started yelling at him that he was clocked out and not manning his post. Then she starts to leave her register with me standing right in front of her!!! I'm starting to get mad! Is this some kind of joke?? I just want to pay for my items?!? Anthony stopped her and told her that she needed to ring me up! Finally!!! The whole time I was helped she sat and complained to the other employee all the problems there were with this store! Yikes!!! Hopefully I just caught them on a bad day, but the whole store was a disaster mess, and the employees were all pissed off. Hopefully the management gets there stuff together. read more

This is by far the absolute worst experience I have ever had with customer service!!! I sent my son to the store with four pairs of shorts that needed to be returned. He came home with a receipt and a gift card for only three pairs of shorts so I called the store only to be put on hold by a sales guy who is helping a line of customers and I could hear every transaction and word. I was on hold for over 15 minutes as he was checking out customers so I hung up. I called back again and a lady answered the phone in the department and hung up on me before I could even say a word. So I called back a third time and no one answers the phone at all. This is completely unacceptable and I am going to cancel my Macy's card unless somebody follows up with me immediately regarding this issue! read more

Unfortunately, tried looking for a suit at Macy's with my wife....No customer service what so ever....Once we found someone to help us they had absolutely NO knowledge of mens suits, how to measure and size someone, NO knowledge of their own products....Was a very sad day for Macys. They used to be super helpful, knowledge of what they sold, pride in their own stores.....Not so much anymore. If you are like me , and you are from the Bay Area you know that it is always picked over at home, and all of the small sizes are always bought out. I love shopping in Impulse area of Macy's. Let me start by say the only reason I'm even giving Macy's 1 star is cause of the associates that work there. The young woman who was assisting me was great, and deserves her manager's job. The perfume/fragrance department manager should really reevaluate her job. After trying to purchase a perfume gift set, the cash register crashed, it happens so I wasn't upset. Computers crash all the time, but after showing the manager that the purchase was debited from my account, pulled up the transaction in my bank app, she still refused to assist me. She wouldn't give me the product, nor a refund. The dollar amount didn't matter to me, it's the principle of it. The manager was extremely rude, and was insinuating I was trying to steal. The associate was trying to make things right, but I explained to her that this wasn't her fault and hoped she had a great day. The manager refused to answer any of my questions, even after I was asking what would happen if the transaction was finalized in my account, and how will I get money back, I no longer want the product. She ignored the question. I called the corporate office #, asking the same question. All they could say was they can review the cameras, and check if I didn't take the product and maybe I can get money back. All they could say was to cancel my card and report it as theft. Well how will that work when I went into other stores as well and made purchases? Those companies will lose the money. This is probably why I never shop at Macy's, in Reno, and never will again. read more

I just wanted to voice my opinion about a fantastic sales representative that assisted me at the Macys store in Reno, NV. I went to their watch department because I kept having an issue with a Seiko watch I bought for my fiancé a few years back (from this location). The watch had been taken in for service twice to a store in Utah (since we had moved) and both times it was in for an extensive amount of time. During the last nine months, he only physically had the watch for three, so we were really hoping they would just send it off and decide to send us a brand new one. We got the sales representative up to date on our situation and let her know that we didn't have the warranty paperwork because they had forgot to give it back to us the last time it was serviced. She then happily looked up all of the original sale and warranty information from a few years ago, since it was purchased from her store and then suggested something I was definitely not expecting... She suggested that we look for a new watch and she would happily give us credit for the original purchase price since we had a defective watch on our hands. I was so happy especially since it took the poor girl a while to find our paperwork. We gladly took her up on her offer and instead of having an expensive piece of junk on our hands; we have a non-defective brand new watch. Yea for Macys in Reno! I'm only rating this Macy's a 5 star department store because this is the first and only Macy's I've ever seen which sold designer jeans like Rock and Republic and Seven for All Mankind! This Macy's is actually more like a Nordstroms for Reno residents and provides a fantastic selection of designer and higher class goods than I've seen in even some of Bay Area's finest Macy's department stores. For the mark up I pay, would it kill them to have more registers open. Every time I go in there, it is impossible to find a register that is properly staffed. I hate how this Macy's is laid out and combined with the poor staffing, it is not worth it. So I usually hit up a Macy's when I am traveling. GREAT: Purchased a men's suit and shirt and really enjoyed working with Miguel and Maribell! Excellent customer service, great selection, and great discounts! NOT GREAT: Went over to the shoe department hoping for the same level of service....NOT! One woman hunting for shoes in the back, absolutely no product knowledge or interest in sales. Actually disappeared for 15 minutes with customers waiting! Some guy in the sports shoe section was too busy on his cell phone to notice and when I asked if he could help, seemed irritated that I'd even ask. I bought furniture almost 5 months ago. No phone call to let me know of the delays. Last week the truck finally came. The man said my white couch would be dirty after he brought it up. I asked to speak with his superviso. Ge said he didn't have one. The other man proceeded to say that I refused my furniture, I did not refuse it. Made some condescending remarks. Closed the truck and drove away with my furnitur. The manager of Macy's Carlos is aware. His question was why didn't I pay for white glove service. Hmm you would think over $1900 would be enough. Macy's cologne ladies are so sweet. My a friend and I went skiing last week and went Christmas shopping. Jeanie at the cologne counter was very helpful. She also helped us shop for my friends family at the women's store. She called the Macy's personal shopper to help. I forget her name but she too was quite helpful. Reno's Macy's reminds me why this class of retail has nearly been destroyed since Federated Department Stores (parent company of Macy's) consolidated most of America's department stores. This store is dirty, messy, unbelievably expensive, and generally disgusting. It has a confusing, deliberately maddening layout (and two locations at the mall) . I always wonder why people are here. Even if the remote possibility existed that I liked something offered for sale, I wouldn't want to buy it with the long lines, remote salespeople, and general air of decay. Oy Vey. This is the worst Macy's I have ever been to. Very unprofessional staff, though still some gems in the bunch. I'd clean house ;) 1. I wanted to look at a watch in case at one counter (untended), and asked the lady at the counter next to it, she replied "That's not my area", and that was the end of that, no offer to find me help. 2. I watched one sales person (superior) chew out another salesperson in front of all the customers. Layout in womens dept is more reminiscent of Mervyn's than a Macy's. read more

i live 100 miles away from this Macys. I shopped the 1st floor clothing department for a half hour before I saw an employee. No open fitting rooms and no sign indicated that. I've always had a good experience at this Macys, especially for the past few years. Ever since the Summit opened this Macys has picked up their game and has better service and is cleaner than they were in years past. This review is for the purchase I just made last week. My wife and I were at Meadowood doing some christmas shopping. She saw the Coach store and decided to make a visit too it looking at various purses, etc. There was one in particular that she liked, the person there wrote down the model and got it to me and told me to come back to the store later when my wife wasn't with me and I could buy the purse. Later that afternoon while in Macys I noticed they had a Coach section and I went looking for the purse (they didn't have it). I asked the woman in that section if they thought they would get it in. She wasn't sure but after I gave her the SKU she called up Coach asked about the bag which had just come out and wasn't due to them for a few weeks. The Coach store had actually given me the wrong information, so after some back and forth she was able to get it ordered and drop shipped to my house within a week. The best part? She told me they were doing a 25% off sale that INCLUDED Coach bags so I ended up saving about $90 off the cost of the purse vs. buying it at Coach! Hopefully my wife doesn't read this before Christmas :). Awesome Experience! read more

Ever since they took it off line printing your reward certificate there has been issues with the sales people not providing you with the proper information and you loose out on your reward money unless you fight with management and customer service and that becomes tire some and old! please go back to emailing the reward certificates so I can start receiving my money again! Macy you really need to bring customer service back to the USA to keep your customers shopping at your store and the sales reps are so buggy when all i want to do is shop in peace and quiet! read more

Yeah this isn't the fanciest mall in the world, or even the most done up store, but they still have the best selection of brands and products and their prices can't be beat if you take advantage of one of their sales. The selection of men's dress and business clothes (suits, pants, shoes, shirts, etc) is easily the best in Reno. Dillard's may have a shinier store, but their selection sucks compared to Macy's, as do their prices. When I go shopping, I'm not buying the store, I'm buying the products. And if your selection sucks, it doesn't matter how fancy the store is. The home goods shop upstairs is excellent as well. A nice selection of stuff for the kitchen, bedroom, etc. Good prices too. We got a great deal on an entire set of All Clad cookware. Would have paid twice as much for the same stuff at Williams Sonoma. I don't get the complaints about customer service, I've never had issues in the many times I've bought suits, shoes, or anything else here. And I don't know what Michael is talking about with regard to dust all over the home goods section. We were just there and saw no such thing. read more

The past two times I have purchased items at this Macy's in Reno they have left the security sensors on and I've had to go back and have them taken off. Watch out for this! The selection at this Macy's is OK for our area. We don't have tons of options in Reno for shopping. I wish the children's department was a little more varied. I know it's been the holidays recently but each time I go in there it's a little bit messy. Most of the clerks are nice, but there's a few, especially in the lingerie department that are just downright grumpy. I will continue to go to the store, but I do wish they could make a few changes to make it a more pleasant experience. read more

We went to Macy's today to see if we could exchange my new purse that had been damaged. The staff at the purse department by the MK counter provides exceptional customer service. They exchanged my purse without any hassle and even offered to clean my over the shoulder wallet. The manager was really friendly and welcoming. I will buy all my purses here from now on. read more

My issues are not Covid related. I went today to buy a swimsuit and selected one that was 25% off. I had to be rung up in a different department because swimwear didn't have its own register. I informed the sales associate that my items were 25% off and she said she checked and it was only for Macy's card purchases. Then she kindly re checked and said that it must be a discount with a Macy's "pass" I have no idea what that is but she asked me to check my emails. I checked there were no sales coupons for the swimwear. Then I checked the app. Also nothing. I was starting to get frustrated so I dropped it and decided to just pay full price and deal with it later. Later on at home I decided to follow up because I know sales are sometimes only for 1 day. The exact items were 25% off just as I had stated. So now I will have to drive back to the store tomorrow and get my refund adjustment which is frustrating because I don't feel like this should have fallen on me to prove especially when all the signs showed that there was a 25% off discount with nothing stating it was only with a Macy's card or coupon. On the app when I added the exact items to the cart the price reduction was automatic. While the associate was kind I feel like she should have looked into it more. For reference I was the only person in the line or in the department for that matter. Had it been crazy busy I could understand her reluctance to investigate further. The onus is on behalf of the store to ring items at the correct price, not the customer to do research and prove it to the store and their associates. Malls and department stores are struggling due to online shopping and they really need to step up the overall customer experience. I love Macy's and will continue to shop with them but be prepared to have all the evidence to prove that you're getting the accurate pricing. read more

I placed an online order to pickup in store (in Black Friday). I did a little shopping but when I reached the register they weren't taking debit/credit cards! ON BLACK FRIDAY!!! Good thing I had cash. Then when I attempted to pickup my online order I couldn't because their computers weren't working! So I called to cancel the order and was told to just not pick it up and it would fall off. And of course, I've now been charged for the item and attempting to get my money back. Tried calling customer service but been on hold over 15 minutes now. Macy's has lost a customer. With this kind of service it's no wonder stores are closing left and right. read more

Gotta say, the Personal Shopper concept is great for busy people who can't spend a lot of time shopping. Especially if your sense of style sucks or is out of date. I'm red/green color blind, too, which means if I can't drag my wife along, I've got to rely on strangers for color coordinating stuff. The PS solves all of this. However, you're still dealing with a human being. My experience started out great, then got frustrating. She just got it into her head that I should wear a 38 coat, which I can't even get my shoulders into. Took a while to get her to start bringing me larger sizes, but her sense of style was great. She got distracted, though, by other clients coming by. I'd booked an hour with her. We could have gotten everything done in that hour, but she kept splitting to tend to clients who just dropped by. I spent a small fortune on that little spree, but ended up returning half the items... because she keep inexplicably switching out coats and shirts for smaller sizes. So, thumbs up for the concept. DO NOT MAKE CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS HERE! Back in October I paid off my card using cash, luckily I kept the receipts, however, last night I went to make a purchase using my Macy's card and it was being declined. I called Macy's customer service this morning and I was told I still owed a previous balance. I have receipts showing I made a payment in the exact amount that is owed. This is so unbelievably frustrating.... The cashier that took my cash payment is the same lady who told me I HAD TO APPLY FOR A AMX Macy's card (last week) in order to purchase a gift card?!?!?! Never have I had this happen to me, but two days later the same lady told my 17 year-old sister she too HAD to apply for a AMX card in order to purchases a gift card (along with a shirt)! My sister is on my fathers account and is SEVENTEEN!! My sister believes the cashiers name was Rosie or Rose (short Filipino lady) . Since my sister is on my fathers account, she obviously knows his SSN# (which is required when making a purchase without the card) so she entered the information because this lady told her "In order to make the purchase you must apply, otherwise I cannot go through with the transaction." SO she applied just as I did because we just wanted to make a purchase and leave. Earlier this week we both received letters from Macy's apologizing that we were NOT approved for the AMX card. I NEVER WANTED ONE! I ran into a manager on my way out of the store last night and I expressed my frustration to her, hopefully something is done about this. I'm not accusing the woman of taking and pocketing my cash but maybe she needs to be re-trained on how to apply payments and not FORCE people to enter their information to make any type of purchase but also forcing them to apply for a credit card at the same time. I don't understand how the lady made my sister apply for the AMX card using my fathers information! Isn't this fraud?!?!?!?!? After 67 minutes on the phone with Macy's this morning, I'm assuming this issue wont be resolved for a few weeks after we mail in letters and receipts. To the three girls who stayed and helped me out last night, I appreciate you! and I give you girls 5 stars! I don't like to complain but I feel like I got scammed and ripped off. read more

Then if you walk around it is very modern with new signs and carpet and this new pick up zone. I recommend this place to everyone. I can't wait to visit this Macy's again!!!!! read more

Returned items at Lancôme counter and had to come back because the associate named Tabitha messed up the transaction and gave me less than what I paid for. Upon returning she called me "A pain in the ass." Terrible experience and I'm sad to know this is still the only Macy's in the area. People deserve to be treated better for their hard earned money. Will not be ever going bak rather go to Sephora , I went in 12/17 around 830 , I was not greeted as no other customers were in the makeup department , I had to ask to try on a Anastasia lipstick , she just handed it to me and walked away , chatting with her team member , I needed a makeup remover I asked and she didn't say a word just handed it , I walked away and still she doesn't say a word , maybe she needs more training , bcus as I Kno when u work in a makeup department and there is no other customers you are trying to upgrade sales , she should learn how to actually smile and greet customers , worst experience ever !!! read more

What's good about the Reno Macy's is that it's still one of the best places to find good things in Reno. BUT it will seriously disappoint you compared to other Macy's in other cities. Not only do you see stuff that feels like what you saw last year in other cities, but it looks like the stuff from last year that DID NOT SELL. Makes you wonder, where that stuff winds up, doesn't it? It's in the Reno store for people "behind the curve", as if they disrespect us Renoites. "Hey, someone's gotta buy the stuff that didn't move, how about them Renobs?" The buyer/inventory chief for Reno Macy's needs to get out of the 1980's when Reno was a little hick town. This person is probably an old crab who is way out of the loop, and needs to be fired and replaced with someone tasteful, cosmopolitan, and who has actually left town to visit other cities. Reno is now gushing full of money, chic hip edge upbeat pulse, ex-Californians, and a new culture and economy. On top of that, there is no Sak's or Neiman Marcus or any competition here. That means Macy's is completely dropping the ball on its opportunity to step up to the very top shelf and dominate Reno's fine shopping. Macy's: don't be a high priced Target store selling what looks like stale leftovers that couldn't sell last year in SF or LA. Get a new buyer and sell people what's ABOUT to be hot, not cold leftovers tossed aside last year. Three stars because it's still one of the best places in Reno, but it could be so much more. read more

Cindy in the women's department really made my girlfriend and I feel very uncomfortable after I had made an inquisition about if those blister security packs really explode..she says "they do" through the door of the fitting rooms so we just felt extremely awkward because it's not like we were planning a theft, she just made it seem as if we were. Then when we left the fitting room, she gives us the dirtiest upon dirty look, like listen here lady, uh uhhhhhh honey...my girl said to say that last line smh she's wild.
