I can typically find what I need here for clothing and shoes for the family. The staff is always helpful and even at the cologne counter, the area and bit too helpful where is annoying at times. Outside of that, the prices can be reasonable and we find what we need. read more

I went for table cloths, which are now only online. However, they had a wonderful house wares sale that I took advantage of. Macy's in west county mall has always been a "staple" store to shop at. Prices are reasonable and the selection is vast. read more

I was helping my mother look for new bedding for a king size bed and Macys has the best selection in town by a landslide. I would prefer to shop online but my mother likes to see what she's buying. My husband and I buy specific cologne/perfume that Macy's carries. I stopped in last week to pick these up. They only had my husband's cologne in stock and were out of my perfume. Kay in the perfume department was so kind when assisting me. She asked for my name and phone number, and she personally called me when my perfume came back in stock. Not only that, but when I arrived this week to pick it up, she remembered me, my name, the exact perfume I wanted, and even gave me free samples. The Asian lady at the Fragrance dept is unbelievably rude, unprofessional and all she wants is her credits and the commission. Her smile is fake, her demeanor is (buy the perfume and get the hell out of here). Her manager Lauren (lady with glasses) is worse than the Asian lady. She is full of hate, doesn't spend enough time with the customer and argues with customers making them think they are stupid and they don't know how things work. The West County location always has the latest fashion and styles by trendy brands. They have great sale on everything from cookware to skincare. Macy's is going downhill - with the rest of the retail industry - if I may be so blunt. There are plenty of clothes and items in stock, as you would've seen this place in the early 2000s, but good luck finding someone to help you in a fitting room, or even finding someone to check out your purchase. This is the sad state of retail as we know it: people are shopping online and not visiting malls. And Macy's is reacting by retaining fewer staff on the floors. Macy's is hurting for business, and therefore not hiring enough associates to properly serve the individuals actually still loyal to shopping "IRL" in the malls. Update. I only contacted Macy's to find out who to speak to regarding the warranty company. I used the warranty company to report damage. I DID INPUT a service order to the actual warranty company with many photos. . I did not receive word back and had to call the WOW company a few times. It was then I was told their over 30 day rule which was not stated on contract. The issue I have with Macy's is that Macy's needs to choose a better warranty company or stand behind its customers. This contract "rule " is not fair and especially during these unprecedented times. The salesmen push a warranty package, yet it's an inferior product. read more

The ordering experience was fine. But if you do a drive up order -- check your items before leaving. I learned my lesson. I did a curbside pick up on a pair of Uggs. I was sold a pair of CLEARLY used Uggs. Creases in them -- creases in Ugg boots come from someone wearing them -- there were also a couple stains on the boots -- hair & sock fuzz inside of the both boots -- and no paper/cardboard inside of them. If they had of checked the shoes before bringing them, it's clear as day that these weren't new. I was given my money back but still. read more

I came here during the week and in search of a specific item. On my visit it was difficult to pin down any sales associates, and one of the escalators was not working. On a positive note, I was able to find some nice sleepwear and the cashier, once located, was friendly. With malls and department stores going the way of the dodo bird, this Macy's might need to step up its game to avoid being another casualty of this changing retail environment. read more

This is Macy's is one of the nicer ones that I have been to in awhile. This multilevel anchor store was extremely organized and clean. It has a nice selection of quality merchandise. One of the things that they could work on is their signage. There is a map of the store in the doors upon entry; however, it wasn't all that obvious as to what department was on what level. This is my favorite local store--I shop there often--I'm even a Platinum Macy's shopper. It was very disheartening to shop there today and endure rude treatment from the volunteer Jewish Women's International charity organization that is doing gift wrapping in the store for shoppers. They ignored me, were unfriendly and never once acknowledged me or asked to help me. I really like shopping here but I do not need my shopping trip ruined by people who are there to make it better or should be there to make it better --not worse. I did relate this to the manager on duty but my shopping in Macy's today was OVER. The associates at this store do a great job every day--gift wrappers running regular shoppers out of the store upset is not something they need. read more

DO NOT BUY DIAMONDS FROM MACY'S!!!! They will not give us a refund and THEY HAVE THE RING!!!!!!!!!!! I am very angry. All we want is a refund. My mom was shipped a diamond ring after a few weeks of it being purchased (over $6,000) and she liked it but it was too big. She took it to the store and the sales person said it can be resized. They ship it off to a third party company to do it. The sales person also told her it can be refunded within so many days. So the ring is sent off and doesn't come back for several weeks. Once it does, the diamonds look different. Black spots and poor coloring. My mom only had it for a week as she lives an hour from the store. Once she took it back to show the sales person and manager, they said she can not get a refund and they would only do credit towards another ring "To make this right". We will never trust buying jewelry from Macys and said "no, I want a refund". The manager refused. The manager took the ring to send off to the same third party company it came from. That has been weeks and we have been trying to do everything in our power to get the refund. The credit card company told us to contact the Attorney General office to start the investigation of fraud on Macy's part. She hates the ring, they have the ring somewhere with the third party company, and they will not give a refund- just another poor quality ring. This has been the worst experience. My mom is older and I am trying to help her out. If anyone else knows of a class action law suit against Macy's please message me. If anyone else had this same experience, we can let the Attorney General office know too. I know there will probably be some generic company response to this review. I don't care what they say. They have the ring and the only way to make this "RIGHT" is to just give a refund. That's not so hard. read more

Now I remember why I shop on amazon. Traversed half the store to find a checkout that was staffed. When I got there I was next in line. After waiting 10 minutes while the associate was on the phone trying to figure out the customer's gift card I just set my items down and left. This Macy's location seems to either get high marks or low marks and nothing in-between. I admit that I enjoy shopping, checking out the sales, trying on suits and kicking it with the salespeople. In other words, I'm a functional metrosexual sans the eyebrow waxing and the Jersey Shore tanning. My review will focus in the men's department as other reviewers hit other areas of this department store. The guys in the men's department are helpful and provide good sartorial tips and tend to have a good eye when it comes to measurements. I enjoy this shoe department as they offer a larger Cole Haan and Kenneth Cole selections. They are sometimes cheaper than the label flagship. I purchased a pair of Ken Coles $20 cheaper because of sale cards and other sale incentives. I've always found something there that catches my eye. There, of course, have been the occasional dud employee but this tends to be with the seasonal help and all stores are busy around Christmas, so I tend to be lenient. I hustled shoes back in the day and retail is rather difficult; tho' reading Jenny S. review about "peeing" is rather garish behavior and raffish on all levels. I've not experienced this in the men's department. The store is clean and presentable and, of course, hit the sales and you will have a 3 star experience. Treat the salespeople as human and odds are you'll be walking out with a few shirts, a couple extra bucks in your pocket, and a 4 star experience. read more

The shoe department at this Macy's is just terrible. They never have enough people working. Every time I go in there I'm annoyed. Over the weekend went in there, found a pair of shoes I wanted to try on. Waited and tried to flag down a worker, couldn't find one who was available. Ended up trying on a few display shoes since no one would help me. Finally managed to flag down a woman who took about 10 minutes to bring me the shoe I wanted. And then, I hear her yell to someone else "You deal with everyone, I need to pee." and then she runs out and I don't see her again. Next to me another woman was trying on boots and was looking extremely annoyed that no one was helping her either. I spot another worker off in the distance, just slowly picking up boxes of shoes. I flag her down and it takes forever to get her attention. While I am trying to do this, boot lady is annoyed and packing up her box of boots that she wants to buy and taking them to another department with workers. The saleswoman comes over to help me and as I am speaking to her cuts me off and says "Wait a minute" and runs off chasing after the lady with the box of boots who is going to pay for them in another department. She then starts ringing her up while I'm standing there, waiting now about 15 minutes for anyone to show any sign of helping me. I gave up and walked away. Terrible service and complete lack of professionalism. read more

If you plan on ever coming to Macys and buying anything make sure you don't need to return it otherwise the manager Linda in returns won't give you you're money back. I bought two pairs of shoes from macys backstage two weeks ago and they weren't the right size. I went to return them and Linda refused to take them back even with me having a valid receipt, with the sales tags and strings still attatched, and within the return period. She told me they look like they've been worn and then continued to have a disrespectful attitude towards me and my mother in law. I'm not sure if she's racist but every time I've had an encounter with her I've noticed how she treats other black people versus anyone else but her own race. I've always seen her behind the counter even with a huge line of people doing nothing but standing there with a rude look and a snobby attitude. 5 big stars for the store with a star as it's logo! I went to Macy's to check out their suits for my son. I went in looking for a DKNY in 40L that their web site said was not available. I had to return something anyway so thought I would go look anyway. Enters Mark the suit salesman. I ask, and he takes me right to it. Oh, it is beautiful, and then I look at the price tag. $650.00 not on sale :( I wander off to look for something more in my price range...Mark calls Bob, Bob researches upcoming sale events, he comes back telling me that on the 28th the suits are going on sale for $319. I can't wait for the 28th as it is for a wedding that weekend ,and it would still need the pants to go to alteration. Mark got the sale price appoved. But wait there's more... I asked if there was any 20% coupons available. He did not have one, but ran over to another department and they had one. He borrowed it for my purchase which brought the suit down to $255. I then went over to the tie department and a very nice gentleman (didn't get his name) helped me find a tie. Wait there still more... The suit fit, so we had to bring it back to Macy's for pant hemming and while there my son opened a Macy's charge account. That gave us another 20% off bringing the suit down to $204. In the day and age of online sales, Macy's is keeping me local! I typically buy my shoes from Aldo online, because their sizes are very consistant. Sadly, I could not find any driving loafers that I liked at Aldo... I walk into Macy's and saw a pair of Calvin Klein's I rather liked. They were reguarly around 110 dollars on sale for 80. I was in! I wore them for about 3 months and the damned things fell apart at the seams. I was very upset! I walked across the street from my work to the Macy's here in West Co. Mall. Told the salesman my problem, and he promptly asked me to take them off, and brought me a new pair. I was shocked. I didn't even have my receipt with me, but that wasn't a problem. The sad part was I had loafers that needed broken in again, and that's a big pain in the ass. Less than 2 months later, the damn things ripped again at a different seam this time... Went back in, talked to another sales guy, and he helped me pick out a pair of Bostonians this time around. They were a bit more expensive than what I had originally paid, and much more expensive than what my Calvin's were marked at the time, but he brought them out, and swapped them no problem, and absorbed the difference. 3 months in with the Bostonian's and I couldn't be happier. Which I would have noticed these from the get go. Much softer leather, and much more comfortable! So good for you Macy's. You earned a new loyal customer, and you'll be my new first choice, rather than my last thought. read more

This Macy's is always very clean, and the staff is generally helpful, though it can be a bother to track a kiosk that is attended down. And then you'll probably have a ridiculous line. I guess that's all department stores though. My husband and I also had our bridal registry set up through this location. Not fond of the customer service today. I went to multiple locations inside of Macy's to ask questions. 2 stops I made were at the Mac makeup section and the men's colon. My goodness they acted as if I was inconveniencing them by asking a question. God for bid I actually knew what I needed at the Mac store and this girl made me wait 10 minutes to check me out because there was a customer asking millions of questions. I literally needed one lipstick. It would've been quicker to check me out so she didn't make me stand there forever. I was totally mad. Idk how many questions that someone may have it was just super rude how she addressed me. I tried to be polite and curious. But this girl needed an attitude check... seriously. And then I walked down stairs after I got done at Mac and the ladies at the men's cologne looked bored beyond all measure and seemed uninviting. I asked what the specials were going to be for the upcoming holidays to get gift ideas for the men in my life and they acted like I was wasting their time. Not thrilled today in the slightest. They incorrectly tag items and then refuse to sell for the price marked, then accuse you of changing the price tags. Sorry Macy's but I don't carry a label maker around with me when I shop. If you live in South County or in the burbs south of the city, come to this Macy's. This location has a great variety of things. Customer service is great. Parking is so-so.
