I Absolutely would not recommend wasting your time to go into the shop. I am definitely not a size 2 or four, but I could definitely wear clothes in the store. However, when I walked in The coerk was not friendly and acted like she was completely busy, which she was not. I asked her about her sizing and she directed me to a rack over size 6. When you walk in, the racks are sized 0 to 4 and then a back rack is 6+. There's really nothing in the store over a size 10. The clothes were coordinated by color and I'll mix in and the quality was not great. There were pills on many items and the prices are pretty ridiculous for the quality. I hope the owner has a new plan because she's not going to be in business long. It says if she is back in the 70's, "playing store". read more

My daughter and I walked into this store while we were shopping in Clayton. The staff was very rude. They didn't greet us. They just stared at us. It was quite off putting. I did see a bag that I liked, however my daughter motioned me out. Neither of us were at all comfortable in the store; and the staff working seemed to make sure that we in fact felt that way so we would leave. We frequent several stores in that plaza, though this was our first time in Byrd. I haven't had this issue in any of the other stores in that area. We won't be returning. read more

Lovely store, extremely well curated. Store is small. Lots of single digit sizes. As a size 10, I didn't have much selection of clothing, although they had a few things as well as great shoes, bags, and jewelry. If I were local, this boutique would be on my circuit. read more

If I could give a negative 5 stars to match my negative experience - I would. The owner is so rude! It was absolutely disgusting the way I was treated when I walked into this store. I couldn't believe it. I walked in and was not greeted. She completely ignored me...even when I greeted her. I will never return and I will be sure to let everyone I know what to expect from the owner. There is no excuse for poor service and definitely no reason to treat customers this way. There are too many option to purchase pre-loved items from retailers that have excellent customer service, much better selection and much better quality. I was so excited to visit your store and was actually looking forward to it. My excitement was met with disappointment and disgust. My time would have been better spent doing anything else. Dear Women of Color, Be cautious when you enter this boutique because you just may be invisible. I said hello when I walked through the door with my daughter in tow. I was asked if I needed anything? No just looking. The clerk then continues her conversation with her white customer laughing and giggling and clearly enjoying her presence in the shop. I later moved closer in an attempt to get the clerks attention but her vested interest in her white peer was apparently much more worthy of her time. I literally stood there and counted to ten, silently in my head. I begin to exit and she encourages it by saying have a good day. I am clearly invisible. The irony is her attention was centered around someone who is selling their clothes. Not my black face who was interested in your bags...oh well I think I would've have made a good client. I guess I'm too brown. I had to teach my little one how to be a good shopper in the vested interest of equality. read more

Cute little boutique in Clayton! Unfortunately the prices are very much Clayton-esque, though but the brands they carry are all high-end designer so maybe their prices are actually cheap considering what you're buying. I just can't exactly afford to shell out $200 for a blazer I only "sorta" like but maybe if I found something I just couldn't live without, I'd save up for it. In fairness I have bought really expensive stuff in the past but it's usually something crazy unique that I will wear over and over again like my UNIF hellbounds. I do like that they offered to sell a blazer for me that I have that I never wear and it's basically NWTs... so if you have something new or gently used like designer shoes, purses, or clothing, they might sell it for you and you get a percentage of it. Also...this goes without saying but...OMG pot belly pig is SO CUTE. Her name is Chloe and she's the official store mascot. A trip to this store is worth it just to see the cute piggy. They also stock Hem Gems here which are amazing devices for pants and sleeves that you wish were shorter but don't want to sew them. Plus they are reusable so pretty economical. I wish they had some cheaper brands like bbDakota or Ryu. And FYI those brands are not really "cheap" either if you are used to shopping at Target or something, but still definitely unique without dropping three figures on one dress or jacket. ;) I just think that more girls who don't have sugar daddies (LOL!) would be willing to shop here if there was stuff in the $50 price ballpark but then again they might have a sale rack that I just totally missed. I ADORE this boutique. From the beautiful handbags, jewelry, clothing and accessories; every piece is special. The shop is lovely and the service is wonderful. I purchased an item during quarantine from the Instagram account. I was able to pay for it via Paypal and the item was delivered to my doorstep that very day. I have since been into the shop and every safety measure has been taken to protect the clientele and employees. Run, don't walk to Byrd! read more

My mom and I have been shopping at Byrd the last couple of years and the owner Emily always makes it such a positive experience. They have the best second hand designer clothes, shoes, and bags in town that she meticulously selects for their quality and style. The prices are higher than other consignments but you are looking at less flaws and high fashion labels such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Prada. She does have sales throughout the year which she announces through her email list. They recently went through a remodel of their store which I saw this week and it looks really beautiful. They upgraded their displays which really show how beautiful the shoes are. My mom lives out of state and comes here to shop and sell clothes when she's in town. No matter how long it's been she always knows us when we come in and greets us by name. She always asks what is going on with our family and keeps the experience really personal. We will continue to shop at Byrd for years to come! read more

Byrd is by far my favorite consignment / resale store in St. Louis and I have been to almost all of them. There is always a large assortment of authentic designer (Gucci, D&G, Chanel, Tory Burch) clothing, handbags and accessories priced VERY reasonably. I am always able to find something to buy, despite my limited budget. Recently, I was in the store and had my eye on a vintage quilted Chanel bag. The bag was GORGEOUS and lightly worn as well as had the authenticity card. After doing my quick research on my phone I saw that it was priced below the cost of other similar bags online. I still had trouble biting the bullet and purchasing it, but found on that the owner does layaway! I love that! I wish more stores had this program. I was able to make smaller payments on the layaway program and get my beautiful bag! read more

Byrd is one of my favorite STL finds! Being a West Coast transplant, I found shopping for designer clothing difficult until a friend recommended that I visit Byrd. The selection is wonderful, unique and definitely some of the best I have found in St. Louis. You can tell the owner has a discerning eye for style and only accepts items in the best of conditions. It's a great place to go for everything from a cute pair of high end summer sandals to a gown for a black-tie event. And the best part is that they carry designers that you can't usually find in St. Louis! Definitely one of my favorites. read more

This place is ah-mazing. I have always wanted to buy a pair of Christian Louboutin heels but could not bring myself to part with that much coin in one transaction. I searched other consignment stores and on-line to see if maybe, just maybe, I would get lucky and find a size 5 1/2 that were gently used. Lo and behold, I scored at Byrd. The entire transaction took place over email and phone. The owner was great about describing the shoes and condition and she sent a number of pictures to make sure I understood the design and style of the shoes. And the best part? The price. Straight up steal, I would have never been able to buy couture shoes in the Bay Area for that price. I love them and I have asked her to let me know when she gets other items in my size. What a beautiful shop. I found them on Instagram and finally got there today to check it out. Beautiful, second hand, gently used designer clothes. I admire fashion so this was really fun for me. To see affordable Chanel and Jimmy Choos made me happy inside. It was late Sunday, quiet, and I was honestly unshowered in a beanie, army jacket, joggers, & uggs...I knew if I showered I wouldn't make it there before they closed. But the guy working there made me feel welcome so I was comfortable, on my own, going through the racks of clothes. Shoes. Jewelry. The jewelry also features artist made jewelry, local I believe. So pretty. I'll make this a destination shopping trip for sure now. They get new consignment things all the time. Being a bit of a seasoned consignment shopper, who is known to travel around the country visiting consignment places, I realize how hard it is to find 'good' stores these days. Lucky for me, the local store, Byrd, is certainly one of them! The selection is gorgeous, unique and very well priced. I think the shoe selection, in particular, is one of the best I have ever found. On top of everything, the service is hands-down the best in St. Louis. There is no pressure, no snobbery...just a helpful owner and staff who are always accommodating.
