The store doesn't seem to have anyone working here. The lines are long and things are all mixed up in random departments where they don't belong. There is a good amount of clearance stuff though which is kind of nice because what we shop for isn't want is sold out here. People can be sketchy at this mall, but just keep to yourself and not make too much eye contact it's fine. They have a backstage up stairs which is kind of like their clearance center. As long as your expectations are low with customer service this place will work if you need to find some thing and happen to be in the area. read more

This store at Fairlane is barely hanging on. The men's department carpet is filthy and needs to be cleaned. The Polo section at one time was the best and now it's mediocre. The clothes selection needs to be updated. Checkout only has one register but I guess it works. I give it 3 stars because this store has hope and potential. read more

I called Macy's today and connected to the Clinique counter, wanting to know if they had a certain shade of lipstick in stock. The girl who answered told me to "Hold on, I'll have to check." She put the phone down on the counter (not on hold, mind you), and away she went. As time went by, I could hear chatting and laughing in the background. Half out of curiosity and half out of pedantic annoyance, I continued to "hold" on my drive home, listening to the distant conversation as she "looked" (in other words didn't look) for what I had asked for. I got home, unloaded my purchases, went into the house, and fed the cat. Still, she did not return. Either the Clinique counter at Macy's is the size of the Mojave desert and she somehow got lost in the swirling sands of setting powder, she forgot me, or she simply put the phone down, ceasing to give any semblance of a crap about customer service. After nearly 1/2 an hour, I gave up on getting any sort of service from this dumpster fire of a store. Guess I'll order online, Macys. Ya'll clearly don't care about your customers. read more

Are you sure this isn't a run down Marshall's? Save your time, make the drive to 12 oaks. This macy is depressing. No shoppers, yet a ton of clothes and shoes all over the floor. In the words of my toddler, "yuck mama so messy." So messy to the point where pushing a stroller becomes an intense cardio workout because you're trying to avoid running over hangers and clothes. I went to Fairlane to do a return I had one hand bag a wallet and leather conditioner the woman who was working in the handbag area refused to do my returns. Customer service was closed so I took it to a delightful woman in the clothing department although she hesitated she was able to do all my returns with ease and she was very patient with me. It was only because of her I had a good experience. Her name was Venita. She took her time she was able to complete my returns and she was very patient with me which I really respected. read more

Based on a good deal offered through the Macy's website, I purchased online for store pick-up. Same counter as before, this time only one person ahead of me so the wait was short. Cashier was pleasant, got my item from the storage area quickly and the entire process took about five minutes. The store remains bargain-basementy in its look and feel. I remember Macy's from years ago being a higher end kind of place so maybe they've simply decided to downgrade and, like so many other companies, burn up the good will established years ago. Stopped in to browse - decided to buy a shirt for my husband. No sales associate at the first counter I tried, one with a lengthy line in an adjacent department so I approached the next nearest two sales associates at men's fragrances who were talking together, not assisting customers. They wouldn't ring up my purchase & directed me to the lengthy line. Needless to say, I opted to leave without making the purchase. Next I went to housewares and for the first 15 minutes browsed around a seemingly deserted department that was utterly disorganized with items strewn about and on the floor. When I finally wandered toward furniture, I noticed two sales associates-again talking but not with customers. I wonder is there any upper management, any attention to customer service? The employees they have at the counter are pompous and arrogant. I mean you are there to help the customers not sit around and gossip. Slap on a smile and do your job. Most of the employees at this location are just plain nasty. I loathe having to go into this particular location but unfortunately they carry some items the other macys around don't. If I had my way each and every one of the employee at the mac counter would be fired. Then I would make it a MUST for every employee to undergo a mandatory 90 day customer service workshop. I can't believe this place has 2 stars! The service is so ridiculously horrible it's almost funny. My sister and I went here on our lunch break since we work right across the street. I was looking for something for my engagement pictures this weekend. We were there for an ENTIRE hour and not one salesperson said anything to us. Not ONE word... not a "hi" or "can I help you with anything".... nothing. We walked around the 2nd floor twice looking for the womens area and finally I asked someone to which she replied, "oh it's downstairs." And immediately turned her back and returned to her phone. I saw at least 10 people on their cell phones, paying absolutely no one attention. I'm all for not being bothered while shopping, but this was ridiculous... I expect to at least be acknowledged while I'm there. If you're looking to go shopping somewhere, I definitely would NOT go here. What a joke of a company! I applied for a Loss Prevention Detective. Was emailed for a phone interview appointment. They never called. I called them and Macys said we are going to reschedule it because there was a meeting for the loss prevention department. They dont call for the second time after scheduling it. I call them again and the girl says she emailed the department of the new time. 5 minutes later I get a third email saying they were not moving ahead with the hiring process. Went to Macy's Fairlaine, recently, to pick up a watch that I ordered online, because it was the closest location to my zip code. Normally, I would go to Oakland Mall, or Twelve Oaks Mall, but came to this one for convenience. I was very concerned about the inability to use the automated accessibility doors, at the entrance to the building. The outer door handicapped button, and the inner handicapped press button were bit inoperable, and appeared to be damaged so badly that it looked as though the buttons had been pushed to the point of disrepair. Another couple cans around and tried to open the door from the outside, and was unsuccessful in getting the door to open. In addition to being a violation of the ADA, this is a major hazard for persons with disabilities who are attempting to access the building, and depend on this accommodation. I've rarely, if ever encountered a situation like this at the other Macy's stores where I shop. I want to complain to corporate about this, so I'm searching for the contact person, for which this issue may be directed. read more

I'm only giving this Macy's two stars because they do have some nice clothing especially for men and they carry my favorite brands of perfume, however, the perfume ladies have NO PERSONALITY! They stand around and talk to one another or if one is standing alone, they look lost and confused. I ask one young lady about a tester to smell a certain perfume and she had attitude like I was bothering her! Macy's Money is a bunch of bolony. Unlike Kohls Cash, if you make a return, the whole amount is deducted and not a percentage of the item. I spent hundreds of dollars over xmas and made one return.
