Now, it was certainly my own mistake for visiting on the Sunday two weeks before Christmas, but this place was an unorganized madhouse! There were probably way more people in the store than a fire marshal would allow. Products all over the floor, strewn about. And again, this is a brand new store... why design the store with seven checkout lanes if you're only going to have four open on one of the busiest shopping days? Gripes aside, it's a decent store with a slightly different selection than your average TJ Maxx and Marshall's. As we got away from the clothing/shoes/accessories, we found the home goods section to be in much better order. We picked up a few nice picture frames for less than $10 each, so I'd call that a win. They also had a great selection of auto accessories, surprisingly. The wait in line was about a half hour... very ridiculous. Anyway, they need more cashiers on duty to handle demand and also dedicated staff to keep stock off the floor.

They do carry a lot of cheap, trendy clothing. There is not a wide variety of sizes for women. The designer handbag selection has never been great. They do occasionally have a great shoe selection. It is really hit or miss. The store is usually clean & organized. The prices are usually good if you can find a treasure. However, the next door neighbor, TJ Maxx, usually has a better selection. The Ross stores I have been to in the north are very different than the ones in the south. This isn't it. The buyers for this store are cheating you out of a great Ross experience.

Located in the growing "Little Japan" area near Sakura Novi, it adds another wonderful Asian shopping experience to an area that is quickly becoming a destination of its own. TESO Life is part of a growing Asian lifestyle retail chain with locations across the U.S., bringing together Japanese- and Asian-inspired beauty, snacks, household goods, collectibles, beverages, and everyday finds all under one roof. Walking through the Novi store reminds me of some of the Asian markets and specialty stores I love visiting in California, such as Daiso Japan and Tokyo Central, with a little bit of that H Mart excitement--although TESO is much more of a lifestyle store than a full grocery market. The store itself is bright, colorful, energetic, and incredibly fun to browse. There is SO much to look at! You'll find skincare and makeup, household items and containers, adorable collectibles and character merchandise, including Labubu, plus aisle after aisle of interesting snacks, candies, crackers, ice creams, and beverages. Some of the drinks and packaging featuring anime and other Asian characters are almost too cute to open! One of my happiest discoveries was finding some of my favorite Japanese crackers that I usually only come across when I'm in California. Little finds like that are exactly why I love having TESO here in Novi. There are so many imported and harder-to-find items that you can easily spend quite a bit of time just wandering the aisles and discovering something new. The grocery side is still relatively small compared with a traditional Asian market, but they are carrying more frozen foods, including gyoza, along with Asian sauces, seasonings, snacks, beverages, and frozen treats. I would love to see this section continue to grow. There isn't a food court or prepared-food area, so I think of TESO primarily as a lifestyle and specialty retail experience rather than a grocery store. The employees have always been pleasant and helpful during my visits, and checkout is easy and modern, including convenient digital options. They also offer a rewards program where purchases can add up to future savings, which is definitely worth joining if you plan to return. There is plenty of parking, and with Sakura Novi and several newer Asian businesses nearby, this whole little area is becoming such an enjoyable place to explore. prices have been reasonable the collectibles, of course have some expense to them. My cousin (18 and very much into beauty products) was particularly into the skin care, make up, and all the other body care products that they carry. I, however, being of a certain age, chose to spend most of my time in the snack aisles, picking up a number of unique (to western palates) chip flavors to sample with my cousin in the car right after leaving the store (steak flavored Lays were surprisingly good while the Hello Kitty fried chicken snacks tasted more like cinnamon twists to me?). I also got some biscuits and other candy/treats for my husband whose birthday is next week (he loves matcha so it was fun to peruse all those options for him). They also have a small frozen section with ice cream and other desserts and a TON of imported beverages. There's also quite a few toys/blind boxes available at of the front of the store and SO many of those little book nook kits. Plus a few rows of housewares like plates, cups, cleaning supplies, etc. Definitely dropped a few bucks here but considering how much I bought it wasn't too bad. Most of my snacks were around 2.99-4.99 which, given the increase in price in things like chips these days AND that they're imported, actually felt like a pretty good deal!
