This review is based on their stock and employment. You would think it would be easy to land a job at tj maxx right? Or especially since it's a new location, they want to hire lots of staff especially during the holiday season? WRONG. I submitted an application back in October, interviewed middle November. Obviously, the store or management doesn't take after their applications in an appropriate time. But, I go in for an interview, as they mention it is $14.50 an hour for associates. I go in, interview is all great. The manager tells me the district will decipher the pay, so it's not an automatic $14.50. Understandable, until you realize I have 20+ experience as shared in my resume. I kid you not, I don't hear back from the manager until 2.5 weeks later. The sad part? I had to go in person and ask for him, inquiring about my application status. It's holiday season after all! Don't they want my help? You would think! That's when he informed me I would only get paid $12.50 an hour, a terrible starting pay which is slightly higher than minimum wage, slightly. Again, 20 years of expierence! I told him I don't understand the discrepancy, as well as why it took so long to get back to me. He didn't seem to care. I got an application offer for the job about a week and a half later, sent to my email. I rejected the offer, $12.50. I got another one recently, as if they didn't receive my first rejection email. Finally, they stopped sending me emails. Again, you would think the management would have their policies in place, especially in the times of holiday after holiday (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas).... If this is a view of how they treat their employees, glad I rejected their emails for the job twice. No transparency and a lack of timely manner is how you run the place? Hm
Onto the store and the stock: Lots to choose from, price wise is the same as other locations. Always busy in there and lots of staff around store, from on the floor to cashiers. It's a new store, big and clean. located along Haggerty road (the worst road to travel on as of late), but in case you ever want to eat or shop other places after tj maxx, there's lots to choose from.
Will I be back? No. Do I suggest others to come here to shop? It's no different from other tj maxx. That's up to you. Do I suggest others to be employees here? Haha, no. read more
