Between working more in the garden, taking up pottery, and an affinity for DIY projects I somehow became a person that practically lives in overalls. Particularly, Duluth Trading Co overalls. The pockets (so many!)! The comfort! The cute patterns! The flattering cut! The durability! The fit! Did I mention the pockets?? I did a count the other day and, uhmmm. I think I have a dozen of their bibs. Yes, I'm aware it's a problem. But I have so many different needs! One waterproof-ish one that I got for my trip to Zion and worked perfectly for my river hike through the Narrows, several pairs of heirloom gardening style in long pants and shorts, some solid colors as well as a few of the more whimsical patterns, etc. One denim, a few more "fashionable" varieties, etc. Dirt, clay, all of it just dust right off. They're so good, you guys! The heirloom bibs in particular are worth every penny but they have so many amazing sales and markdowns you'd be silly to pay full price. One day I was in my pottery class. Our classroom has a huge window that faces the street and people like to stop by and watch the potters in action. I was wearing a pair of my heirlooms (as per usual) and a guy came in off the street, peeked his head in the door, pointed at me, and said, "I know you are so comfortable right now!" And without a beat I said, "Duluth?" and he said "Heirloom" and the we laughed together then spent a solid 5 minutes talking about how great they are and convincing everyone in my class that they need a pair. Talk about an IYKYK moment! (Duluth, seriously, call me. I'd make a great spokesperson). My family has teased me over the last few years as I've acquired more and more but I'll tell you what, when I was walking around a rainy Greenfield Village H'alloween event I stayed nice and warm in my waterproof overalls, with the front pocket that perfectly housed my apple cider which I could easily sip through a straw, keeping my hands free for other uses. Anyway, my aunt watches me managing this outing with ease and says, "you know, maybe I should get a pair..." (she mocked me for my fanny pack 6 years ago too and look at where we are now!) Winning hearts and minds, y'all! Anyway, yesterday I went in and added 2 more shorteralls to my collection. One covered in small mushrooms and the other, a bright green succulent pattern. I have hardly ever got anything that did last and wear well. While you pay the price for this quality, when they have sales, you get a bargain. I have not been wearing yoga pants since I am that demographic but decided to get a pair from the sale rack. Most comfortable pants I have now. Still won't wear them out, great around the house pants. As for the underwear, the set I got agrees with the name, dang soft. Service is always good and lots of dressing rooms to try things on. Lots of parking and easy to get to. I will be back when I am out this way again. read more

Could have earned more BUT my friend who went out of her way to stop here for me (from AZ) to check it out got attitude from the female who was sitting by door to enforce the mask rule. I walk in wearing mask and friend got an eye roll (attitude) when she explained she is medically exempt. If she is at risk SHE knows the consequences. And if she were ill WE wouldn't be there. That's crap customer service. Learn to contain your attitude. If she had doubts she could have inquired with my friend as to what afflicts her to put her in the situation she lives with. Management here clearly went out of their way to educate their staff. Location is fairly easy to get to from highway. Parking is easy. Lot is small. Store is set up nicely. Sadly I couldn't find what I was hoping to find in my size. Funny how you can find it online but not in free standing store. Found some neat "stocking stuffer" type items closer to counter where you check out. Also got an eye full of a customers big ass butt crack as I was viewing product stocked along said counter. I came in over the weekend looking for underwear.. you know, the "Buck Naked" kind. We've chuckled at the commercials long enough, so now that we have a store nearby I thought I'd get him some, as a gag gift of sorts. First up, holy expensive gag gift! It quickly turned into some serious underwear buying to qualify for 30% off when you spend a $100. They range from $20-$30 for one pair, in case you are wondering. Maybe I am out of the loop here on male underwear prices but.. yea, these better cradle his balls and give them angel kisses and lots of love throughout the day is all I have to say. Tough I came for underwear, the store is filled with so much more. Pants, outerwear, shirts, all heavy duty stuff you can work in, but it is actually cute, in a rugged kind of way. I bought myself the no-yank-tank because I like to wear them to bed in the wintertime. Nothing is more annoying than turning over in bed and your tank is halfway up your back when you're already cold. These stay put, even if you toss and turn a lot like I do. Going back to those testicle cradlers for a minute; they have a lot of options here. The buck naked kind which are supposedly supremely comfortable, the bull pen kind which keeps them in nice and snug, some free (baller?) kind.. lol, I forgot the name, which makes it seem as if you're not wearing any at all.. (psst just go commando, it's cheaper!). Lots of options and then they all come in different lengths, too. Thank God for me there are little pictures on the packages (no pun intended, but damn that worked out well!)- which are very helpful. I think this is how men feel when they enter a Victoria's Secret, utterly confused and somewhat clueless. I did notice that an overwhelming amount of male customers had questions for the staff, one guy in particular stood there talking for a good ten minutes about his nut pinch. I didn't feel very welcomed here. Which was kind of strange, they seem to have a regular group of customers they know by name. It's a good thing I guess but a new customer can be left to figure it out by themselves. I wanted to try the no yank tank. There in store prices are not the same as online. Expect to pay more, but I didn't mind because I really wanted to try the tank. I really love the no yank tank. It's a nice weight, thickness and plenty elastic. It was worth it. I eventually will buy more - when they have better colors. read more

I'm really impressed with DTC. They sell almost everything in tall sizes, which is huge for 6'2" me. They have everything from heavy duty workwear (similar to Carhartt insulated jackets and pants) to clothes you can wear to a business casual white collar job. Their dress shirts are made of quality material and are actually long enough for me, which is almost impossible to find being a size L since most big and tall stores start at XL. Although I didn't purchase anything this time, I will most certainly be coming back for some shirts when the ones I have need to be replaced. They're still a bit on the pricey side, but everything in there is most definitely of excellent quality. I am sure their stuff will last and look good for a long, long time. read more

Store employee said they do this so the online store has sufficient stock. As a 6' 200 lb guy who hovers between "large" and "extra large" (shirts), I never found the right sleeve length/ neck size for my longish arms. Large generally cheated my arms; xl generally came out too long! Well, I tried on the flapjack flannel shirt (at $79, with $10 bucks off that), slid right into it. Total fit. The thick flannel as well as the lining will hold me up well in the unfolding MI winter. As others noted, the staff ties the place together with a uniform store message of helpfulness. Unlike Cabela's down the road in Dundee, DTC is smaller and more manageable size wise. Interestingly, I have to agree that there's more guy stuff here than I'd thought. Prices seem high, yet the Duluth construction quality warrants it in my world. The parking lot right next to the entrance needs some re-planning: way too narrow. Behind the store, and not obvious at the beginning lies a larger parking lot with easier access. Poorly timed traffic lights surround the I-96 Wixom Road juncture. Plan on waiting some. This was at noon on a weekday. Great place. Can't wait to lighten my wallet later in the season for clothes that (finally) fit. read more

I love this place! First, they have great commercials. Who can forget underwear called "Buck Naked". This store is in a great location right off the freeway at Wixom Road. They advertise as having"working clothes". The clothing they have is much more than working clothes. They have so many other "things" to purchase. Check out their website. I have purchased plenty of stuff from here at the store (no details but I love the Armichillo stuff). This store is the #1in the country (employee told me). They based this location on the on-line order zip codes. The people are always so helpful and friendly. Great to see a brick and mortar succeed. I went to Duluth for first time yesterday. The staff was friendly and they had plenty of people to help assist. I went there because been having trouble getting jeans that fit me properly. I've tried a ton of different stores and brands. I purchased a pair from Duluth yesterday. I put on the jeans today and they fit better then any pair I've ever owned. Their boxers are a bit high priced but they're fitted perfectly. Highly recommend this store for product, staff, organization and cleanliness!!! read more

I have shopped at this store many times since it has been opened and have never been treated as poorly as I was today. My daughter (who is biracial) and I were shopping and were followed around as if we were criminals. It was a very negative and uncomfortable situation. I will not shop there again and will make aure that I let the people who live in the area know how racist they are. read more
