At Bridal Expos and online, you usually get bombarded with the chain Menswear places to do your business with for your wedding day (like I did). The styles at these places were bland and I wanted something different. I stumbled upon Sam Michael's and from my first visit (of probably 5 or 6 in total), I was hooked! Walking in here for the first time, I didn't know what to expected. I explained that I was getting married, and 8 groomsmen and 2 parents that needed suits. I was sat down and shown all of my different rental options, which included suits, tuxes, pants, ties, shoes and other accessories. So many decisions, but I was granted the ability to stay there and think carefully, but also explained to that I can change it as many times as I want up to a month or so before the wedding date. Attached are some pictures of the suit I picked for myself and my groomsmen. It was a brand new suit in their inventory that they personally owned, as well as the color choice for my accents (pocket square and tie). Michael and team were very professional through the entire process. We had multiple texts and phone calls back and forth during my moving of our wedding date as well as when my accent color was discontinued. After the wedding was all said and done, I was granted a $500 shopping spree on a suit set of my choice. That was really exciting and I got a nice blue, checkered patterned suit. Initially the suit was advertised to me as "slightly more expensive" but better quality and service than competitors. After we allocated our wedding finances after we got married, at Sam Michael's, I actually spent LESS than what I budgeted and LESS than a competitor I was initially going to go with. Totally worth it here! Thank you Mike and team for everything! I felt like family every time I walked in. No errors or resizing for any of us during our pick ups.

But not so much that it annoyed me. I went in looking for my first quality hat, and she worked very hard to try to find one in the price range that I was looking for in a style that worked for me. Once I made my choice, she was able to shake the hat pretty well to fit what I was looking for. I'll absolutely go back.

There are so many brands of outstanding fashion designers for men there and the selection was endless. Everything was very reasonably priced. The colors and patterns were not typical of navy, black, and tan. They jumped right off the clothes. There were bright, vivacious colors that you don't see at Brooks Brothers or Bacharach. The only thing more impressive than the selection and quality of the clothing was the service I received. OMG, Wendy not only knew all the brands, how they fit, and what sizes were available, but it was like she could read my mind about what went well together and what would be comfortable for me. It was like she knew my measurements by just looking at me. The only issue I had was that I didn't allow myself enough time. I purchased some shoes; I was not walking out empty-handed, but I definitely will be coming back again, and again, and again. The thing I really enjoyed and appreciated was Wendy's attitude. She was dressed to the 9's, very professional, she knew the products in and out, she was informative and not salesy or pushy. I felt very comfortable and trusted her advice. By the way she was dressed, I knew she had the kind of taste I like in clothing. Sharp, neat, respectful, but also fun. If I'm honest, the cherry on the sundae was her smile. She looked happy to be there and like she enjoyed her profession. It's hard in retail to find a salesperson in a store, period, one that wants to be there and is helpful, good luck. I went inside to look for some boots for my husband. I didn't find anything that he would even…read moreconsider wearing. A lot of camping, workout and outdoor activity clothing. There's also home and random items too. They have swim shorts out on the rack. Seems too soon, given how cold it is outside right now. The shoe aisle in the back left of the store reminded me of what I would see at a store. I didn't see a lot of decent quality boots from when I could tell. I walked further and at least found a whole wall socks. They at least had a smart wool socks and they were on sale for $13 a pair. I was able to buy almost $200 worth of socks for both of us. At least our feet will be warm the rest of the cool cold weather until spring returns. Might be good to swap out socks today, it's bitterly cold outside. The checkout area reminds me of a TJ Maxx or Marshalls. It announces when the cashier is free and their number for their counter.

On a recent visit to Nordstrom-Twelve Oaks, my friend had an appointment to get a dress altered for…read moreher son's wedding. I was along for moral support. Upon arriving in the women's department, we asked Ann where we should go for alterations. Ann couldn't be bothered to show us where to go, she instead pointed to a nearby fitting room. We then asked Deborah, and she took the dress, found a fitting room for my friend and promptly called the alterations department. Thank you Deborah. After the alterations were complete, it was suggested to my friend that she open a Nordstrom credit card in order to get back the alteration fee in Nordstrom notes. Deborah so kindly started the process. 45 minutes later, after being transferred around to four or five different departments on the phone, Deborah called for a manager. Kurtis, the manager, was finally able to finish the process. Had the alteration fee not been so steep ,we would have walked away. Truly, ridiculous. Kurtis did provide us a free lunch in the Bistro, for all the time wasted. While waiting for the approval process, I wandered into the lingerie department to look for a specific brand of underwear. There was no one working in the department. I had to find someone from another area and of course the sales person immediately said that wasn't their department. What has happened to Nordstrom and their sales team? Nordstrom was always the gold standard for customer service. Perhaps they should take a lesson from Von Maur- There are always plenty of people working and you are always asked if you need help. I am not sure why I would go back to Nordstrom.
