This is my boyfriends favorite store, so when we went to Ann Arbor, we had to stop. It's right downtown, so there is street parking all over. The one worker, I'm not sure what his name is, remembered my boyfriend since he's been there several times but I really like how personable and friendly the staff is! Their products are just top tier, great selection, but they are at a higher price point, so be warned. The socks and shoes and other accessories are more affordable, but most of the tops and bottoms are anywhere from $200-$600+. There was a couch in the back as well that I enjoyed chilling on while my boyfriend tried stuff on! Very fun! I'd love to visit again read more

Pure class. The best stock of anywhere I've been in Michigan, with inventory from boutique brands and online retailers that I've had my eye on but never been able to try on in person. On top of that, the service is unmatched. Eric (and the other gentleman whose name I didn't catch) graciously spent over an hour with me as I tried on a dozen or so items, and suggested items and retailers that hadn't been on my radar that they thought I might be interested in, and took the time to explain the story behind the brands, the technical details, fabrics, fits, etc.Their passion for the business clearly shines through in their knowledge, attention to detail, and the way they treat their customers. I really can't say enough positive things about Today Clothing. Eric and Kevin have somehow managed to assemble a premier men's boutique in the heart of the Midwest and curate a beautiful assortment of very fine clothing items from a select list of different makers. The atmosphere that Eric is able to create in-store is why I keep coming back. He is able to be incredibly helpful, quickly grabbing sizes and making style suggestions, but also reserved. He allows you to experience the store for yourself. The garments are clean and folded neatly. The organization and layout is intuitive and allows you to easily find what you're looking for or browse for fun. If you make a good impression, Eric may throw in the signature "Today" shirt of the day! Although I no longer live in Ann Arbor, I still shop their impeccable website on the regular. This is a great store on multiple levels. They are very welcoming. I often shop looking like a Tomboy street urchin which is a good test of stores culture. They passed with flying colors! Next, their collection is good. I found at least four items I could have bought and I am so picky, I usually find nothing I like... I just had to splurge on a cool wallet bcs I needed one and the colors and quality of this one called my name loudly. Wildly overpriced and limited selection. I was stunned to see how limited their inventory was. It kind of reminds me of a few clothing stores I was in when I visited L.A., but Ann Arbor is not Los Angeles, and even though it's a hip area, it seems a little bit out of place. You know, those kind of boutiques where there is only one item in the display window, the store looks sparse from the doorway going all the way back and you can't see a cash register in sight because it'sin the back room or completely hidden and they only need to sell one or two things per day to break even? It's that type of store. Amusing in L.A., but out of place here. I walked in with my wife, there were two other customers looking at sweaters and one guy working. He ignored everyone, but was talking up a storm with the delivery guy. I was interested in a pair of pants, but he seemed too busy to be bothered, so walked around a little bit more and left. I was not that impressed with the lack of service in a store with such high prices on everything, right down to socks. The clothes I did see seemed nice and of good quality, but it wasn't anything worth salivating over, nor dropping wads of cash on, either. They had a few interesting vintage/antique accessory pieces that caught my interest, but there were no prices on them. I would have needed the guy talking up the delivery dude to help me out with that one. Since he wasn't helpful, we left. Those vintage items did seem interesting and I might want to check them out again later, but putting prices on them might help immensely. read more

I really love Today clothing. Incredible selection of well-curated, exclusive and high end Men's clothing. Every item I have purchased has been very high quality. I bought some Levi's made and crafted denim from them which have looked great and lasted me a long time. Eric and Kevin made sure I didn't wash them and took good care of them. They're experts about clothing and footwear as they have worked within the fashion industry themselves. I always have a great chat with the owners and am happy to support their store. They're passionate about their work. I especially love their selection of shoes and boots. I have bought Vans, New Balance, and Clark's desert boots from them and have enjoyed wearing them. I have purchased Coal Headwear hats from them, and many of these items were made in the USA from high quality materials. My personal favorite item that I've bought is my cherished bellroy wallet that was $80. It was a bit pricier than most wallets, yet it is extremely versatile, thin and functional. It still looks new after several years, with all the stitching still intact and minimal wear and tear. There are two places in AA that sell the boots I wanted, Van Boven and Today Clothing. I went to VB first because it's closer, and when I asked to try the boots, this is the exact words from the shop owner "OK, but are you serious or you're just going to buy online?" Fine, this was during the Thanksgiving week. So I walked into Today with a lowered expectation, but the service there is just fantastic even if customers could also just try there buy online. I ended up buying the boots from Today - still happy with that decision. Today's selection of items, some can be pricey, but all are good stuff. If you are not buying familiar brands online, this is the place to visit in person in AA. read more

I live in Europe and had been looking to purchase a pair of Vans Half Cab YOMs for a while now. They are limited edition shoes and, if I recall correctly, were only released in the US and Asia. Wanting these shoes so badly, especially at this point, left me with only one option: importing them. This caused two major issues: the costs of shipping would be huge combined with customs fees, and I had to find a genuine pair that were still in stock. I nearly purchased a pair off eBay, but when I read about the sellers, there were always at least one or two bad reviews mentioning them receiving a pair of suspicious shoes. Not worth the risk for such a price! By accident I stumbled on the online store of Today Clothing and found the exact shoes on sale! This was great luck, since shipping from the US to here is always a huge cost. Because of the discount though, I finally ended up with the pair of shoes I have been wanted for ages for even less than the sketchy ones on eBay, even when I include the customs fees. Anyway ... About TODAY CLOTHING and my experience with them itself then: - I sent some e-mails regarding questions about shipping and the item, and I immediately got an answer from a very friendly person. Very helpful and good customer support from my experience. - When the pair of shoes arrived, I checked the Vans thoroughly, and I am completely convinced they are completely genuine. They look perfect and the quality is amazing. I could not be any happier. - Shoes were shipped out the day after I ordered them, and they arrived double-boxed instead of the original box simply being sent in some plastic bag. An amazing store with an owner who cares about his customers, his product, and his community. I'm a guy who doesn't steer far outside of my comfort zone when it comes to clothing & shoes. I buy good quality basics in every color and just stick to that. Eric took the time to understand that I keep it simple, but he threw out some options that added a fun twist to my style. So yesterday me and my two friends walked in and were greeted by the most chill but knowledgeable owners I believe they were and as soon as I got talking to them I knew my experience would in great. They let us know we can search their IPad for items from past seasons and other sale items! I got to try on a few things I was interested in and I picked out a few items I wanted. This is a men's clothing store with a large selection of various high-end garments and accessories. Rather than focus on their offerings, this review will instead relate a problem with their customer service. Background is important to understanding the transaction and how the owners chose to handle it. My wife and I are finishing four year degrees at Michigan University and during that time we have been living off of loans. My mother who is a retired nurse wanted to buy us something nice to celebrate the end of these four difficult years. She bought us a $100 gift certificate to this store so we could buy ourselves something. $100 is a lot of money for her and for us. My wife and I visited the store twice. The garments are very nice and I would love to own some someday, but even with the $100 gift certificate, they were still out of my budget. For example, a nylon jacket with synthetic fill I liked was $420. I want to make it clear I am not saying it was overpriced, rather it was not what I could afford. At the end of the second visit, my wife and I concluded that we could not find anything that fit our budget. We spoke to one of the two owners (the father, it seems to be a father and son who own the shop) and explained the situation. Initially the father refused to refund the gift certificate but upon further discussion he said he would but my mother would need to be there with her credit card. Bringing my mother to refund her gift certificate was both embarrassing and inconvenient, but the $100 was important to us, so a month later when I was back in town, I brought her to Today Clothing. The father did not remember us and the son, who I had not met, also declined to refund the gift certificate. I explained our financial situation again, saying that we were on a limited income and living off of loans, something that is embarrassing to admit. I reminded them of the previous conversation. After some discussion, the son looked to see if the credit card could be refunded, but enough time had passed that it could not. At this point, the $100 was irrevocably in their account, so they could refund the amount in cash without incurring any risk or any loss of money whatsoever. However they refused to do this, despite having promised a refund and forcing me to bring my mother to the store. At this point they had not done anything to earn this $100. We had made a good faith effort to shop there and it didn't work out. However they felt they could keep the money and they chose to. I was forced to spend the money on an expensive item that I did not want to buy. To put it simply: They took money they did not earn from people who they knew needed it, just because they could. This are not good behavior. This are not ethical behavior. I understand how difficult it is to run a small business, perhaps even better than they do. My parents ran a small leather goods store. They traveled to art fairs including the Ann Arbor art fair in the 70s. I watched them struggle, I watched our family run out of money, and I watched them go bankrupt. Still, even though margins are thin, it is still not ethical to take money you haven't earned from people who need it. My parents would never have done this. I hope by writing this the owners recognize their mistake. I'd like to believe it is a mistake and that this isn't who they really are. I will post a follow-up if they offer to correct this mistake. Great place owned by great people. The best part about this store is that they only stock brands that they believe in 100% rather than selling hype brands that are of trash quality. Yes there are certain pieces in the store that are more expensive than your run of the mill fast fashion garments. However these are quality pieces that will last you many years and build character with age. That being said there are a lot of cheaper options in the store as well such as Vans, Carhartt, New Balance that any kid could afford. I've bought a lot of things from Today but of my favorites (things I use everyday) are my made in Colorado Topo Designs backpack and my APC Petite New Standard raw denim jeans. The backpack is super sturdy with a kind of minimalist tech design. Coolest thing about it is that the inside is a bright neon yellow so you can actually see the inside of it when it's dark. The APC jeans are raved about by everyone on the internet so it was really good to be able to go to Today and actually try them on in person rather than play a guessing game with the vanity sizes. I've worn these jeans pretty much everyday at work (service industry) for the last 8 months so they've really softened up from their starchy raw state, yet they've show no signs of ripping or breaking down anytime soon. APC is definitely a good starting place for people trying to adventure into the raw denim world, though they've got a wealth of denim options of both raw and washed varieties. Overall an amazing menswear store that Ann Arbor is lucky to have. The owners are there every day helping everyone with their knowledge and wisdom (ask them to show you their chest pieces(Eric's is way better)). Today Clothing is an amazing store for a few reasons. The selection of items is expertly curated, the store is beautiful (it was previously an art gallery), and the service is absolutely outstanding. This is the only store that I actually enjoy visiting when shopping for clothes. Eric and Kevin stand behind the products in their store and are extremely knowledgable and affable. You can truly tell that they are enthusiastic about the clothing, materials, style/design, sourcing, and men's fashion overall. They're also both down to earth and easy to talk to; just great guys. I enjoy seeing the passion and dedication with which they run their business. This dedication is even seen in the small details, such as in how they wrap the items you've purchased. On multiple occasions, Eric has spent at least an hour helping me find the right fit and style and never once did I feel pressured to make a purchase or hurry up. Eric and Kevin even connected me with a barber when I mentioned that I was looking for a place that is good with shaping a beard. Amazing. I stopped in looking for raw denim. I didn't know much about it and Eric took plenty of time explaining the differences and myriad of factors to pay attention to. Not a sell, an education that made me want to buy. These guys have taste. The shoe selection was really on point. Not huge but extremely well selected pieces from the US made NB, Diemme, Rancourt...everything top notch. It's not the mall.
