I am so disappointed, I went yesterday to buy a dress to this location and I found the perfect one, I did not try because I know my size so when I got to the cashier she told me that the dress did bot have no ticket Attached but she will find the price so the price was $79 dollars and I told her yes thats ok because I looked at Macy's website and it was that price, anyway when I got home I told my husband how nice this dress is so he was like oh so try it on , so for my surprise the dress smelled like someone wore it already. So dissatisfying... Awful Macy's It is so dreary looking, messy and run by some of the worst staff that I have experienced at a Macy's. Either you can not find someone to help you, or if you do, they are annoyed that you found them. I am not a fan of the location either. It is located in an out dated mall named Kings Plaza. Skip it and go to Macy's in the tourist trap on 34th street because you will get a lot more selection. Also if you have the time and money to drive, go to Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island for another great Macy's. read more

Does Macy even remember this is a part of their franchise? Not deserving of the name. The workers all hate their lives, the customer service is subpar. The workers keep all the perfume samples and gifts for themselves. It's always messy and you are lucky if you find someone willing to help you. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. It's incredibly messy, loud, no sales staff on the floor, and did I mention it's incredibly messy? The other reviewers got it right about this place. I was in line for checkout today and was called to the wrap desk. Halfway through my transaction, the cashier actually walked away to assist another customer while I stood there with my credit card in hand and mouth agape. It was not a brief interruption. When I asked her to finish ringing me up she argued that a little earlier, she had been helping the person she stopped my transaction for. What kind of person leaves her customer at the register to go help some assholes find a pair of jeans?? How about finishing up the sale in front of you first? It would have taken her an additional three minutes to complete the sale, after which she would have been free to continue with the couple with the jeans. And she actually argued with me about it like I was totally wrong for expecting her full attention! She kept saying, "Well, I was helping them earlier." Well that's very nice but wtf does that have to do with walking away in the middle of someone else's transaction? Wouldn't it have made more sense to scan the second of two items I was purchasing rather than make me stand there like an asshole waiting for her to come back? In what world is this acceptable? I have never, in my 20 years in retail sales, ever walked away from my customers at the registers AND argued with them about it. I've never shopped in such a ghetto store with such horrible customer service in my life. I should have done like the cashier and walked away. I usually only shop the mens section and its ok. Usually well stocked and if you keep an eye out you can get name brand items at a good price on sale. The shoe department in the mens section pails to to woman's but that is usually the case. Though over the years the man part of the mens section caters to a younger Hip-hop crowd and the selection for older or business attire is getting smaller and smaller. If you're a Macy's credit card holder and would like to use one of your $25 off $100 coupon's, you'll have to sign up for this lame thing called "friends for sharing" or something like that and you'll have to pay them $25 upfront before you can get $25 off your total purchase of $100 or more. I'll start by saying this is by no means a great Macy's... but what do you expect? It's in Kings Plaza for crying out loud. Nothing in that place is great! But, considering the location, this Macy's is pretty okay. I love the brand American Rag and this section of the store is usually pretty decently stocked. The shoe section is so-so. There's times where the store is very organized and there's times where it looks like a bomb went off. Regardless, I can usually find something I like. What bothers me is the nasty reviews about the employees. Yes, the workers at the Mac counter are COMPLETE assholes. They make you feel uncomfortable with their rude demeanor, either completely ignoring you or acting like assisting you is the last thing they feel like doing. Get over yourselves, ladies, you work at a makeup counter in Kings Plaza, not in some high end store on 5th Avenue. I love the brand, but over the years I haven't bought one item at the Mac counter simply because of the attitude of the workers. The sales lady in the shoe department is extremely rude! She is an older woman. Don't dare come to that department 15min before closing because she will tell you she isn't pulling anymore shoes. Uhhmmm what happened to great customer and you still have 15minutes until closing. The women's bathroom on the 3rd floor is a hit or miss. The worst experience ever at any Macy's in the US. Men's Shoe Department sales associates all wanted to stand at the cash register and not offer help. After selecting a shoe I asked for my size and the sales rep checked for my shoe as usual. Once she returned, she gave me the shoe box and walked off. I proceeded to check my merchandise and check out. At this time the sales rep who pulled the shoes for me began to cash me out. She attempted to offer a Macy's card and when I declined she had an attitude. I stated, "thank you for your assistance, have a great day." The sales rep would not reply. Met a very rude lady who happened to be a manager, who forbids to touch clothes!!! she said ask for size do not make a mess assuming my size is too big (she is bigger and taller than me) and was talking down in provocative tone, not realizing that I buy clothes for my family member. Later she was involved in "resolving" another associate "service" issues that made our experience even worse. Fitting rooms are closed, parts of the store have been closed too, and associates spoiled my days treating us badly because we are white minority in this store. After shopping at this nearby macys for over 10 years i am furious in there lack of customer service and experience. I returned 4 items from macys.com to this store and i never received the refund for 2 of the items( over $400)They were purchased separately. I waited atleast 2 weeks for refund. I never received. I went back to the store and they had no record of the return. Its also my fault too i never kept the receipt. I kept telling them to check the cameras but no they never listened. The employees treated me like they didnt understand what i was saying. After 2 months i gave up. After 1 year later, im finally receiving my refund. Born & raised in Brooklyn, I stopped going to this Macy's at Kings Plaza years ago. However, I was searching for a Calvin Klein wool coat & Macy's Staten Island told me that the store in Kings Plaza had one. So Friday morning I went to find the coat. Bernadette was working the register in the coat department alone. There was no one else on the floor although several workers were floating around (doing nothing). When I brought the coat in a different size to her register & explained the size I needed she quickly & efficiently looked it up and told me "wait here". She went on the floor and a few minutes later came back with my coat. That apparently was the easy part. Macy's is still using those check out pads from the 1980's. Needless to say, it wouldn't work no matter how many times I tried to sign my name to complete the check out. Bernadette was amazing. She has the patience of a saint! After quite some time and of course the line forming behind me (her's was the only register open) - she got it to work! This woman should be given a promotion. I usually love shopping at Macy's because it afforded me an opportunity to find great deals on children apparel when I need it. What I don't like shopping about Macy's is the unorganized mess that I see when I come to the establishment. I believe that representation is everything and if I come in and everything is strewn about then I'm going to leave. So to make sure I can walk into Macy's and not turn and walk right back out, I shop real early in the morning when they first open. This is the review I wrote to the BBB, I edited the complaint I sent to Macy's, but I'm too tired at this point to edit anything out...so this was my experience and what I think should be done...if anyone cared... Today, December 28, 2016 at approximately 5:00PM, I went to Macy's to return an item that I received a REPLACEMENT for; the transaction should have been treated as an EXCHANGE, but was not. It was treated as a return. I did not notice until I returned home. When I originally went to Macy's to return the item to Macy's I specifically told the cashier that I was returning the Kitchen Aid, because I received a replacement item. She told me to "Take that out of the box" and "sign here" when I finished taking the boxed Kitchen Aid out of the shipping box and that was it. There was no smile or "how are you doing today?" No one even offered to assist me with taking the large Kitchen Aid out of the box, which would have been nice, being that the box was half my size. And there were plenty staff members around that could have helped. Unhappy with the cashier's attitude, I walked away and left. When I got home, I looked at the receipt and I noticed a MMoney return and that my total return was $40 short. I called my sister, the original purchaser to clarify how much she paid and what the $40 was. Then I called Macys.com to ask why the $40.00 was returned and charged to my account. The person on the phone Kay, seemed to be quite confused and suggested that i return to the Macy's store and speak to someone there and then have them call macys.com to resolve the issue. I went back to Macy's and there original cashier was no longer there, so I asked to speak to a manager. That's when she gave a response that made no sense at all! I asked why was I charged $40 for an exchange item, when it's supposed to be and even exchange and without even looking at my receipt, she told me it was because when you return an item, the MMoney is given back to Macy's because you returned the item. I said, but it was an exchange, not a a refund. She repeated herself, and then immediately told said to the cashier, "Are you having trouble with that?, Let me help you." Completely ignoring me, so I just left. I called Macys.com 3 times to resolve the issue. The third time I warned I would make a complaint if the issue was not resolved. As for Macy's Kings Plaza, they need to learn the difference between RETURN and EXCHANGE. Then they need training to learn how to be hospitable to customers. If the manager had a name tag, I would ask for her to be fired, because she had me talking with everyone around and she wasn't even listening to what I was saying. She should have at least looked at my receipt and helped me on the side away from other customer. read more

The customer service Representative by the name of Mauda that works there is by far the most untruthful and worst representative that I have ever had to deal with. The best way to describe her is that she is light skin of Latino descent and wears glasses and works at the customer service department. After she refused to return one of my items for no good reason whatsoever even though I had never even worn the shirt and it had all of the tags on it still, I had no choice but to speak with the store's Manager about Mauda's inappropriate behavior towards me. The store Manager couldn't believe that one of her employees could speak to me and treat me so badly the way that Mauda did. The store's Manager immediately apologized to me for her behavior and refunded me back the money that was owed to me. Thankfully the Manager was great and very helpful. I really think that Mauda needs to be fired because I don't think anyone should have to go through what I did for simply returning a shirt that had never been worn and had all of the tags on it. read more

Macy's has a general reputation for being the leading in clothing and "everything-including-the-kitchen-sink" types of stores, right? Not this Macy's. I can't COUNT how many horrible experiences I've had dealing with the employees ALONE, let alone the state of the store itself. But let's start with the employees. CASHIERS: Every. single. department. is riddled with cashier trainees who don't know their assholes from a keyboard or price scanner, and have to call over a "manager" for every god damned sale because they don't know how to work the computers. And they say making sales computerized eliminates wait time. Um, no. It's an extra half hour of standing there, waiting for the dumbass manager himself to look up codes even he doesn't know, because he was only just a trainee two weeks before. It's like that all over the damn store, from the underwear dept to electronics. I actually had a painful experience with a dolt cashier over the summer when I attempted to apply for a Macy's Card (because silly me, I though that would make my shopping a little easier). Firstly, the guy who was signing me up for a card had no idea what he was doing. Second, they changed their credit card forms to be entirely computerized, so what would normally have been a 5-minute process for me to fill out a form and for the guy to enter what I wrote into the computer, turned into me trying to spell out every letter of my name and address for HIM to type in which you can imagine was a frustrating process. It took FIVE tries for him to put the entire information in correctly. And I don't just mean five mistakes, I mean completing it and finding out he spelled yet ANOTHER thing wrong, and having to delete the whole thing and start over again (because apparently, there's no "edit" function). Finally it went through, and they approved me for a card and activated my account. Logic would say I could use it right there to make a purchase, right? Nope. I tried, and the computer DENIED my card. Why? We called the front desk, and apparently they had only approved me for ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS. Wtf? I have perfect credit, so a limit that low is flaming ridiculous. You can't even buy a pair of BOOTS in Macy's for $100. I got so fed up, I told them to cancel the whole damn thing and delete my account (though knowing Macy's, I still expected them to send me a bill or something). I still walked away with my purchase (using another card), but the whole process was a nerve-wracking 45 minutes of my life I'll never get back. I never did get a bill, thankfully, but you can be sure I won't make the mistake of applying for a card there again. Anyway. Back on topic. EMPLOYEES IN GENERAL: Somehow, Macy's has managed to corral the bitchiest of the bitchiest to populate their counters. Surly, rude, unhelpful, and downright insulting if you get one on a bad day. And if they're not surly or unhelpful, they're probably not even at their counter in the first place, letting the lines grow like an angry, impatient, wet fungus. A fitting room employee even cursed me out once. I reported her, but nothing was ever done. Granted, every so often there's a really sweet makeup lady or a helpful employee in the jacket or shoe departments, but as a whole they're really a frightful bunch of sorry individuals who probably need years of therapy and anger management to become proper members of society. But meanwhile, they work at Macy's. :-) INVENTORY: Oh good lord, I've never seen such a disgustingly improper way for a store to handle its on-the-rack clothing. Oh, I'm sorry, they don't even BOTHER to handle it in the first place. If it's on the floor, it stays there. Even a dinky store like Forever 21 has employees wandering around to put stuff back on the shelf/hanger/wherever it came from. Macy's, for all its bigness and boasting of job openings, can't seem to keep piles and piles and PILES of clothing from building up throughout the week, until you're wading through a sea of shirts, skirts, and shoes in certain departments. It's really a sad sight. Yeah, it's possible to find some really nice things within those piles, but come on, it's a clothing store...you shouldn't have to LITERALLY dig for deals. Thinking about the place makes me angry. Knowing that it's the only clothing store in my neighborhood I can go for proper wardrobe choices just puts sand in the Vaseline. (Staff is much more professional at Fulton Street.) On Saturday, Jan 16, 2016 I waited around one hour at one checkout. Only 2 of the 4 cash registers were open (most other areas in the store had longer lines with only one manned cashier so I went here) After 15 minutes I started timing each transaction ... most involved payments, returns, issues, credit card applications (being pushed by the cashiers) ,Plenti sign ups ... one order took 15 min 47 seconds alone! No additional cashiers were added as the line built. On the contrary, as I was almost next...despite the long line and long wait, the cashier solicited a customer to apply for a MACY'S credit card. NOW I BELIEVE MACY'S CASHIERS ARE GETTING A BIG COMMISSION ON CREDIT SIGN UPS AS COMMON SENSE WOULD DICTATE THIS WAS DEFINITELY NOT THE TIME TO GO THROUGH THE LENGTHY CREDIT PROCESS WITH THE CUSTOMER! Well that took 11 minutes and 35 seconds before the customer was declined credit ( very publicly ) as the other cashier was still in the midst of a large return. I really liked my merchandise but this wait made me wonder if it is worth the consistent checkout aggravation at MACY'S. Perhaps MACY'S needs to take a cue from Kohl's where lengthy returns and adjustments are handled separately and checkout goes quickly and efficiently. (I waited less time on Black Friday at Kohl's -where the line wrapped around the store -- than 1/16/16 at a line that had only 5 customers ahead of me at Macy's. As I said ... I love MACY'S stuff but will no longer shop at Macy's if I am going to leave agitated with raised blood pressure because of the checkout process. read more

This location is like a thrift store. Some clothes are ripped, some have iron burn on them. They were obviously worn and returned. I understand that people take advantage of Macy's return policy, but those clothes shouldn't be put back on the racks, it's an embarrassment to the store. This review is for MAC cosmetics section at Macy's. Extremely disrespectful, untrained and unprofessional staff! I was sent here by a lovely gentleman from the other MAC store, who helped me pick and buy everything I needed except for one lipstick he didn't have in stock. Great experience at that location. Thank you. At the Macy's MAC, there were two girls "working". One of them, named Denise, was "helping" me. After she scanned the item I swiped my card. Nothing happened. I swiped again and once again nothing, so I asked her if it went through. However, Denise did not hear me because the sales girls were having too much fun interacting with each other and paid zero attention to me. I swiped again. Nothing happened. At which point Denise burst out laughing and ran off due to a joke her friend told. When she returned and finally decided to "help" me and finish the transaction she was extremely rude and agitated with me. She didn't have to help me choose any merchandise or suggest anything. Her only job was to cash me out. She eventually managed to do that in the most disrespectful way possible! I already knew that this is the worst Macy's location I've ever been to, but it's a short drive from my apartment and I only had to return some shoes that I ordered online. I walked up to the counter as there was no on the line, and the associate seemed to be handling another task at the register. I stood there for about 4 minutes without being acknowledged. I worked in retail for many years in the past and I understand that the associates have other things to do, but you should always acknowledge the customer and let them know that you'll be with them shortly. Finally he says "you have a return?" (No, I'm just standing here with two boxes of shoes in a bag for my health). There was no apology for the wait and he even told me to take the box out of the bag when it was already pretty much out because I had the bag rolled down. This place looks more like a gigantic thrift store instead of a Macy's. Clothes all over the place. Garbage all over the floors and the wait time for service is horrible. First time in this Macy's and I'm already annoyed. I literally saw a janitor with one of those roller garbage cans sweeping up and down the carpet in here. How unsanitary is that! On top of that it was crowded and customers yelling at staff vise versa. Rule of thumb customers always come first there shouldn't be a reason why a worker would yell at a customer. Just went to this king's plaza location to pick up a suit for a funeral . The man in the men's department who rang us up wouldn't give us the 30% off friends and family discount . He kept saying it was for card holders only . I said no, it's a friends and family discount . He said no it is not . I told him I'll pull it up on my phone if he needs proof. If you go to the handbag department, Laviasia is THE best!! I couldn't find what I saw online, although it said it was available in store. I don't really like shopping at Macy's ESPECIALLY the one at Kings Plaza. Laviasia HUNTED down those items (COACH), made sure they all had exceptional packaging AND informed me of an upcoming promo that allowed me to save on them! I did have to wait for 2 days to pick up the items, but I was in no rush and I love to save! She was courteous and friendly! I didn't get the requisite Macy's eye roll AND she called me to remind me to pick up my order. The best part was when she called me to see if I'd used the items yet and if everything was up to my expectations. If you are a handbag shopper PLEASE FIND HER! You won't be sorry! read more
