Wanted to do an exchange here, but I was past their "37 day" policy. I've been accommodated, at other locations l, however, I was told to try with At Your Service, which was equally as dismissive. I found two items in their last act section, both of which, lacked a price. When I attempted to make the purchase at the register the cashier just told me they were apart of a pack. However, I told her twice that they sell them that way. My friend had a bunch in the same area but his had the tag. Luckily they had an employee who overheard and told her what she had to scan. Disorganized is an understatement. Everything is thrown everywhere in the home section and a lot of the sheets in the clearance look like they've been used and repackaged as evidenced by the way they are folded and even repackaged with the package open. With that said the stuff they do have is heavily discounted including a great assortment of bath rugs for as low as $10... even brand name rugs can be really cheap! You could find Martha Stewart bath towels for like $5. I recommend coming here just be cautious before you buy and rewash towels before using because everyone touches them like crazy. for starters, the management team was very condescending , racist, mistreating to others. they were not true to what they had to offer, false advertising promises they couldn't achieve. for example, one time i had to call off and get admitted to the hospital, sent proof, pics and all and then was asked if i would be able to pick up someones shift the next day knowing the critical condition i was in. very inconsiderate and not caresmatic what so ever. also had me work from home knowing i was hourly and not salary. I was over worked and under paid for my entire 8 months of enrollment. i had to not only take on my role but multiple roles because i had no team for my counter. they also tampered with my pay checks with malicious intention and purposely miss calculated my clock ins and clock outs with proof of showing them. read more

I'm giving Macy's two stars for (1) staying open for 24 hours and (2) because it wasn't too far from the house. Other than that....very unprofessional! I'm embarrassed for Macy's. No one has on any sort of identifiable uniform or name tag...the attire: sweats, hats, and sneakers...oh and cellphones with music playing on speaker! Maybe this is the holiday attire! Lastly...profanity must have been presented during training! I can't. Not coming back. I'm waiting to do a return and I'm outta here! Fyi - I did mention this to one of the employees and she stated that it's because most of them have been working 11 hours or more...understandable but go and take a nap or grab some coffee. So about 3 weeks ago my mom and i came here to get a last minute outfit and shoes for an event. We ended up picking up a couple things more when the announcement came on that there was 10 mins left to closing and that customers should head to the line. I went on line first in the shoe department because it was near me. Normally when i visit Macys we can check out wherever but tonight the woman in the shoe department was tidying up and told us they only check out shoes and to go to the right to the clothes department . I went over there along with 2 other customers and she told us she's closed after the two ppl who were already on her line and so we asked here where we should go and she said i don't know you can go downstairs and see. The other customer and i looked at eachother and was so confused as to why these women had attitudes. It was about 8:52 at the time. I get it we all wanna go home when work is over but we still had time. Anyway, we went downstairs and it was the men's department. it was quiet and the gentleman were nice l. We were greeted by Jesse who apologized for what we were experiencing upstairs. He said we can get on the line and there were two women and one man ringing us up. About 5-6 more ppl came down because they were turned away upstairs. I expressed the way i felt with Jesse and the cashier and it seemed like that wasn't something new to them. It's unfortunate because this makes me not want to shop here. Nobody chose your job but you. And we weren't asking them to do anything more than their job. Now my mom was sitting down while i was doing all of this running around and she had 2 strollers including my son in his stroller and my phone on it. So when i was done i went back to where i left her and she wasn't there i asked the woman if she'd seen her and she said she went downstairs. So i went back downstairs and asked the security guard if he'd seen a woman with 2 strollers and he said to me "she would be right there waiting for you right " i said excuse me my eyes work im asking if you saw her walk out at all it's no need to be rude. I couldnt believe him. So i went back inside and i saw my mom and the babies and we left. Jesse apologized yet again after having helped my mom find me and i told him what the security guy had said. Today, 2/21/23, I was shopping at Macy's Herald Square. After browsing for a spell, I purchased a latte from Starbucks and was continuing to shop while I sipped. I saw a sweater in Polo Ralph Lauren, which is apparently a shop within Macy's but separate from Macy's (as per Erika the sales person.) After looking at the sweater, I sat down and literally within one minute, I was accosted by Erika and told that if I was not with someone that was shopping in Ralph Lauren, I must leave their shop. I guess the seating is reserved for people who are waiting for other people who are shopping. I told her I was waiting for someone to join me and we'd shop then if that was ok. Erika then said if I wasn't shopping, I'd have to leave and I could not wait for my party. I was in utter shock. I had to ask myself am I being kicked out of this store because I sat down on this chair for one minute. I felt horrible because there wasn't a single customer in the shop other than me at the time. So, not sure what to do, I got up to look at a hat, at which point the security officer was dispatched by Erika to follow me. And he did so, to extent that I began to feel uncomfortable and most importantly unwelcome at Ralph Lauren. Finally, I left and stood just outside the store to wait for my party, to Erika's obvious delight. I'm not sure what I did to deserve to be treated this way but it was awful and pretty much ruined my day. By the way I just so happen to have been wearing a coat that I'd purchased from Ralph Lauren just last season. This is by far the worst Macy's in terms of customer service. You can wait on line for 30 mins with 4 employees by the registers and only ONE working register. Rather than opening another register, they will instead direct you to registers at another department, insisting there are no lines there, only to have you wait another 30 mins. Can't remember the last time I got something in here that I was actually looking for. My best friend this weekend bought a costume necklace and found something she liked better in the Guess store. She returned the Macy's necklace about an hour later. The sales rep decided to play 20 questions, no because she really cared, but because she lost the sale. It was down right badgering. This is probably the worst Macy's you can walk into to. You can never get help, its always under construction and 1 escalator is always not in service. I went online looking for a male suit and was told that I could find it at this location. So I mozzie on down to purchase it. The male section is on the 1st floor. The associate in the male section sees me walking with my dad and says "hey beautiful, how are you doing today." I start to ask him about the suit but he was more concerned with engaging in conversation with me. So I had to keep redirecting him back to the question at hand. Where is Perry Ellis so I can purchase the suit. He eventually points me to an area on the left. Guess what? I don't see it. Ok, maybe I'm blind. So I ask another associate who tells me they don't sell Perry Ellis in the Kings Plaza location. Are you sure because the website said it's at this location. Once again, I was told no. When I asked for the location to find a white suit. I was told to go over there. Where's the help? Go here, look over there, it's not here. I couldn't take it and left. Customer service definitely doesn't exist at this store. Where are the managers? Whose training the employees? Shopping here is frustrating and annoying. Just a mess. So after fruitlessly trying to find a particularly higher end perfume at the downtown Brooklyn Macy's I tried calling Macy's Kings Plaza. After being in a automated phone loop for about 20 minutes I finally decided to try to reach a human being through calling curbside pick up. The young lady who answered the phone hung up on me when she realized I was trying to reach the perfume department. Unfortunately by the sound of her voice you can tell what racial background she was from much like most of whom are hired at this place. I know good help is hard to find but some of these people that they're hiring over there really need some refinement. I don't know who was answering the curbside pick up phone line but I can tell you/ management which I hope will be reading this that this was at 5:30pm on September 29th 2020. I've had better experiences here than other reviewers. I can never complain about the 60% off racks in the men's section! Most portions of the mens section are neat but for some reason the Guess section is always a mess, especially the jeans section not on the racks. Always have great deals, just bought a nice coat for half price. Workers will always try their best to help you and i love using the price check to see if there are extra markdowns. Kings Plaza isn't the ultimate mall by a longshot but it gives you what you need, Macy's is one of the best things about the place. read more

I was in the mens' shoe department at Christmas time and experienced horrendous customer service! The line was super long and was not moving at all. I finally realized that the gentlemen, Edward, working the shoe department was taking people ahead of the people in line. He would assist people with getting a pair of shoes and hen take them to the register to ring them up. When I brought it to his attention, he did not care. I told him I would report him to Macy's corporate and he said "whatever!" I contacted the company via their website, submitted a complaint and NEVER heard back from anyone. This Macy's lost a customer that day. I live a block away and have been going there about twice a month since I moved in 2 years ago. Since this incident, 3 months ago, I haven't been back and do not plan to ever shop at this store again. read more

Tried to return my shoes today which I purchased online and the lady at the cash register did not take them back, saying that if I purchased them online and wanted to return them back to the store, I was supposed to do this within 45 days after purchasing, and mine 45 days passed already. What is the new policy? Official website says within a year, no matter the way of purchasing (online or in the store). She said EXCHANGE ONLY! When I go into Macy's I expect to be treated like I am at the DMV. The only difference is that people stoped shopping in Macy's so the lines are shorter. Question: Did I ever do anything to the cashier. I must have cut them all off on the way to Macy's. From the initial interaction I'm greater with unprovoked attitude. It took 45 minutes with the cashier to get the items returned. - they want me just to mail it back because it will be easies - the woman showed me her screen and said "you see, I can't do it. Do you you want to show me how I can do it?" - I had to call Macy's.com, to what the woman says when I give her the phone is "I can't understand what the operator is saying". - then she stepped away and could not be found. - at last a manager handled this complex one of a kind transaction. I will no longer be a Macy's customer. I ordered a pair of leopard shoes. I took the bus to pick them up to save on shipping. When I got home, the shoes were not leopard, they were black (my mistake, I should have checked first). Now I have to take the bus back to return them. I could mail them back except I don't have a printer and would need to go to a Staples to print the label first. Once the return is processed I then have to wait 7-10 days to get my money back. My big issue is the wait time. The minute the return is processed, the money should be returned to my credit card. Why should they get to keep my money and get interest on it? That is a SCAM and as a result I will no longer shop at any Macys. read more

OMG!!! Best Macy's ever! Has the largest selection I've ever seen for us curvy smexy = smart and sexy ladies. The designs are also super hot and not like many I've seen in the South. New York's fashions are really on point. By the time I was finished picking out clothes, my arms were worn out. The prices, oh my goodness were just spectacular; I got an additional 20% off the Labor Day sale marked down items which prompted me to "look" around some more. So as I was checking out, I was telling the clerk that this was largest selection of items for us curvy women I've ever seen and she said the flagship store on 34th Street was even bigger and better. Now why did she have to say that? Manhattan, here I come. I love Dillard's but they're not up here which is so disappointing. Surprisingly, Lord & Taylor still has a heartbeat and are in quite a few locations up here but I'm so loving Macy's these days. I honestly am not sure why I bother shopping at this location. The service is literally non existent and it seems like the cashiers try to compete with each other who can serve the slowest. At my last shopping trip, I waited on a line of 3 people in front of me, each with a couple of items and it took about 30 minutes until I was next. None of the customers in front of me had complicated purchases. I really don't get it. The fitting rooms are always a mess and no control over what's what. The employees manning the fitting rooms have attitude like it ain't no tomorrow. They do have a large variety of brands and stock so if it's truly an emergency and I need something that day, I'll shop here but if I can wait I'd rather shop online or go to any other location. read more

Why do I keep going back to this place??? I've been going to this place for decades and I've seen the service drop precipitously in the last 10 years. Sales are relatively decent if you don't mind standing on long lines. I always expect bad service, but my recent experience there need to go down in the annals of "Macy's Worst Customer Service Moments." When Christmas was just around the corner, I went to this location with my parents looking for a down jacket for my dad. We walked straight into the men's department and I immediately spotted a nice one in the Nautica section. As luck would not have it, there was none in the size large. Chagrined, I walked over to the cashier and asked if she could check in the computer to see if there were any left in the size large. Looking slightly bothered, she checked and there was indeed two of those jackets in size large. That was a good sign. BUT, I would have to wait, she said. I don't like waiting, but I wanted to get this jacket for my dad. So I waited with the rest of the paying customers. (What was I thinking?) When it was my turn, I reminded the cashier that my dad was interested in the size large jacket. She said she had to remain at her cashier station. I asked, "Is there someone else that can go to the stock room?" (Reasonable question, I thought. But what do I know?) She just repeated that she couldn't leave. "Is there a manager that I could speak to?" I asked. She didn't reply. I went to another cashier in a different part of the men's department. I was informed customer service was on the third floor. We all took the escalator there and I know my parents didn't want me to start up, but this type of behavior shouldn't be tolerated by any customer. There were two ladies behind desks that didn't appear too busy. I explained to the one on the right of my dilemma. In my naivete, I mistakenly thought I was going to find customer service in Macy's customer service department. (News flash: Macy's and customer service is an oxymoron.) She made a couple of calls and I heard her say, "Yes, I know you're busy down there...." Afterwards, she looked straight into my face and said, "I'm sorry but no one is available to go to the stockroom. We can ship it to you." Incredulous, I replied, "You just lost a customer." I was livid. When I got home I wrote a letter to Terry J. Lundgren-- Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Macy's. I told him it was with deep regret that customer service is non-existent at this particular Macy's, etc. I didn't expect a response, but a week later I received a letter of apology and a nice gift certificate for my troubles. I was even informed that the manager of the store was spoken to and he has addressed his staff of my complaint. I haven't gone back yet. But when I do, I'll be sure to report to you what the level of service was like. But don't hold your breath. read more
