I visited this location to return an Amazon package and had a positive experience. The store is big and staff is friendly. If you need to return an Amazon package you need to walk across the store and there's an employee responsible for handling these things. She was friendly and I was in and out in 10 minutes. There's a huge parking lot so even if the store is full you'll definitely find an available spot. read more

In past month, I have had difficulty with 2 online orders, both for undelivered items: there is horrible customer service in the store for orders placed online. The online CHAT function can only tell you that orders are "in transit" - they cannot resolve a problem with orders. The customer service phone representatives are untrained and unable to resolve issues. Kohls has definitely lost their competitive edge - best to buy from other retailers this Holiday Season. read more

The best thing about Kohls is the Sephora store. There's never any sales associates on the floor to help you, the athletic section isn't what it used to be and the clothing is not the best quality. The prices are pretty cheap so you get what you pay for. read more

My wife and I had used Elf on the shelf to reinforce good behavior with our kids. Also keeping tradition for the Christmas Spirit was something very important for us . Our tenants above us took our elf by mistake while moving. We found out the night before we were putting her up. I looked everywhere for this one in the middle of the night. I was lucky enough to find one employee who legit was looking for 15 min looking when they opened 4 AM for the exact one we had. If I could give this girl employee of the month I would. Department store that isn't too large yet big enough to find a thing or two. I don't shop here too often but this place is good for deals on toys and with Christmas around the corner I lucked up on scoring a huge kitchen set for my toddler for $30 off original price! Doesn't get any better. Also with store pick up they usually offer an incentive which is smart because once you enter if you are weak like me you can't just go straight to the customer service line, noooooo you have to stop and smell the beautiful candles they so nicely positioned right there when you walk in :) So now I have a kitchen set and a Caramel Macchiato $15 candle. This store has really cleaned up. The back corners in the kids clearance area used to be a wreck! Now it's much more organized and easier to navigate through the aisles. Also the home rugs and picture frame area was more organized. For a while this store was like a TJ Maxx environment. The girl working register did not impress me. I bought a ton of kids clothes. She could have left the on hanger laid out flat or folded them to bag. She did neither. She rolls it up in a ball. I was annoyed other than her everything was pleasant. Kohl's Department Stores have been circling the drain towards bankruptcy for a while now and I wholeheartedly feel that the Staten Island location probably is one of their worst performing stores. I'm totally fed up with being bombarded with "coupons" that more often than not are unusable when you get to the cashier. They have a list of excluded brands that's as long as your arm which means they can't apply coupons to those items. Next annoying thing is that they give out multiple different coupons but tell you you can't use more than one per transaction. So, the nice discount you were expecting doesn't happen. Today's experience was the worst ever with a cashier who was obviously inexperienced and poorly trained. Eventually a so-called manager came over to assist and she turned out to be rude and incapable of politely helping to resolve the confusion with sale prices and COUPONS!! Overall it's perfectly understandable that tons of people run into Kohl's to use the Amazon Returns Desk but then make a fast beeline towards the exit!! The coupons that Kohl's prints out with your Amazon returns confirmation are generally worthless unless you happen to want something from a low-end brand. I won't be at all surprised if Kohl's soon joins the crowd of recent bankruptcies of national brands because it's looking inevitable. read more

If the on-line service would have been top notch I would give 5 stars. They have a dedicated on-line Line, it has an overhead sign which says On-Line orders but no one is there. You have to get on the customer service line with everyone else that has returns or questions. The reason for doing things on-line is to get in and out, not wait on-line with returns. A little more attention needs to be given to have someone jump on that On-line Line to assist customers who place orders. It may not be in demand but it takes a few seconds to have a buzzer on that line and then have an employee jump on that line to assist. I won't order thru their on-line system anymore, they need time to improve this. read more

I went there to buy shoes. I knew what I wanted but couldnt find any help at the shoe dept. Then a lady named Nicole took care of me even though she was from another dept. She was wonderful. She even convinced me to get a store charge card and I did get it. I was very impressed with her. read more

I really don't care for this store. Anyone read the news article about the overpricing they do on their items? Well, it's true. Their "sales" are in no way a "sale." Seriously, if you bargain shop like me, you will know this is the last place you go to without coupons. I have to laugh at some of the pricing in this store. Yes, I am one of those bad people who gets coupons on a popular site, cough cough, and have been known to make out like a bandit at this store and get items on clearance racks for literally a few cents. I will say I got sheets from here as an Xmas gifts that are seriously like silk. Sure, they are 600 thread count and cost a pretty penny I could imagine, but they rock. The Vera Wang bath towels are great too. Other then that though, this place reminds me of a fancier JC Penneys. I never shop here unless I have store credit. For some reason, we always end up getting tons of gifts from here, so I always end up having a ton. I usually end up buying towels, sheets, pictures albums or even PJs for my girl. Went into kohl's and none of the price checks work and the kiosks are useless. To top it off, while we were at the register getting rung up by pleasant Gabriel, a manager or supervisor by the name of Robin came towards him with an attitude and asked him what he wanted. She interrupted our transaction and got frustrated when he was try to tell her he was busy helping us out. All he wanted to know was if he could go on break, yet she got even more made that he asked that because he was ringing us up BUT she was the one interrupting us to begin with. She was very rude towards the cashier but not only him anyone who asked her a question. If Robin can't run the front without getting frustrated with her cashiers who have the right to ask for assistance from a superior, then she shouldn't be in that position. read more

I don't normally come in here unless I'm carrying a bunch of coupons during a fantastic sale because lots of the clothes are pricey but if you don't mind digging you can score some good deals here. Last time I was here, I scored some bad-ass jeans for $12 (love those clearance racks!) and some gym pants for under $15. I'm taking off 1 star because I've started to realize that some of the clothing lines (Rock and Republic, Apt 9) while very pretty, are not the best quality. One of my new Rock and Republic shirts has holes in if after only a few washings. Return policy is super easy and the lines go seriously fast. read more

OK, I'm adding ONE extra star because their returns process after the holidays was efficient and accommodating. (You don't need a receipt, as long as the item still has a tag, and they issue you a gift card with credit.) There was a giant line of people returning things, but it went smoothly and without hassle. Unfortunately, after being issued our credit, we couldn't find a single thing we actually wanted in the store. The products here are basically what you'd expect to find at K-Mart, but with inflated prices to make you think you're getting a better product. But the clothes just aren't fashionable, or high-quality. Looking at the kitchen and home goods section, I noticed that the prices on identical items were higher than the exact same items at other stores. Eventually, we decided on a plain, basic pair of overpriced sneakers - but they didn't have the size we wanted. An employee mentioned that we can also use the gift card online; we said OK, and left. So - we've got to order something online, but for the time being, the gift card is still sitting here. This location is also rather inconvenient, and not at all accommodating to people without cars. read more

I can do some serious damage in Kohl's. I definitely don't recommend coming here unless you have some pocket change to spare. I've never had a bad experience here. The store and its restrooms have always been well-kept. Sometimes the shoe department can get messy, but that's at every store with a shoe department. Kohl's is one of my favorite stores on SI, I was so excited when I heard we were finally getting an alternative to the dept. stores in the mall. I always find something I like for a great price, though the jewelry can be pricey when not on sale. Their selection is fantastic, though. I've never had a problem with returns, and aside from one or two I've encountered in the past, most of the staff here is friendly and very helpful. read more

As much as I enjoy shopping at this store when I have my 30%off coupons, my experience at the customer service desk was quite unpleasant. I came to pay my bill, having returned an item I went to the customer desk and said that I was not sure of the total due. Without a smile or asking if she could help me, she said"I cant help you with that I cant find out your balance" She was quite rude. I just walked away and when I told the manager, he was very complacent about what I said, stating there was a phone at the desk that I could use to determine the balance. I wasn't told this at the counter either. As I find the regular cashiers always smiling and helpful, I figured out the total amount and paid my bill at those registers. My advise is to stay away from the unpleasantness at customer service in this store. read more

I suggest coming with a coupon or searching out the deals in the store because some items are pricey. I have found cute slacks and tops for work here. I always tend to like Lauren Conrad's collection, but I find it to be too expensive. Vera Wang's stuff tends to be on sale and she has cute items. I like the home decor section with all of the picture frames and I recently got a nice frame for 40% off. If you look hard you can nab some really great steals on anything from a KitchenAid mixer to luggage here. I also recommend the baby clothes section because there's a lot to choose from. read more
