I recently came into Macy's to purchase a new watch. I wanted a Bulova watch. My friend also wanted one. We both picked what we wanted but there was no employees around what we wanted. Other employees who were in charge of other things kept telling us "one second". It turned out to be around 30 minutes till someone actually helped us. It was really frustrating for me and my friend. We managed to get huge sales on the bright side. I saved a ton of money from what the watch actually costed. After we purchased it we asked if the lady can size it for us to fit our wrists. She replied that the person who does that isn't here. We were kinda mad. We then asked another employee if she can do it and she had no trouble. I'm not sure if the First lady was just lazy. It took a while for her to do it but she managed to get it done. We definitely wasted more time than was actually needed. All I got was frustration. Not highly recommended. read more

I love Macy's but this one is not the best. I'm not sure why I keep coming here. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Well well Im not a huge fan of Macy's but the perfume ,kids clothing ,and makeup tend to be the reason for my consistant visits ! This location seems OK especially when they have super sales ! This review is for Ashley that works in the handbag department. I live in California and I was looking for a very specific Michael Kors bag. Mine had been stolen and I wanted to replace it. I went to my local Macy's and the associate could only give me a list of two Macy's stores and each had one bag only. I called this store and Ashley was so helpful. She took my name and number and said she would call me back in 5 minutes and try and locate the bag. I received a phone call back from her amazingly fast and she had the bag in her hands. We had some trouble with my card declining, since I'm in CA and the store is in NY. Ashley was so easy to work with and understood the process. I got my card cleared and I made the purchase. This Macy's looks like any other Macy's superficially. However, deep at its core is a little manager trying to get over an inferiority complex, overcompensating through mistreating and being contentious with the brain dead employees and enforcing bullcrap policies just because he can. This trickles down to dissatisfaction among most of his workers and imitation among those with any little bit of authority which in turn leads to a chaotic mess of a place where nobody enjoys being there and everyone has no patience to deal with customers and their problems. This is about the MAC counter in kings plaza. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had!! My sister actually came with me, and she was the one helping me pick out and apply shades because nobody came over and asked if I needed any help. When I did eventually ask for help to match a shade to a picture I had, the saleswoman told me that I should go to a drugstore instead! I ended up finding a color I liked and the salesgirl did not even want to help me so I went through the drawers myself to retrieve it. It was totally insane. I love mac products and thats why this review gets the 1 star, but customer service was appalling!! read more

I haven't been in this Macy*s for about 10 yrs. The design layout has vastly improved since my younger days of working here. The quality of merchandise has declined, I suppose to meet the needs of the change in clientele. I used to love this store but those days are over, which is not the store's fault. I did not enjoy my shopping experience due to this change in clientele, and merchandise. I realize the Estee Lauder counter on the ground fl changed many years ago, and I detest the way it looks now. Again, a cheaper feel with a lower level of clientele and customer service. I will say that the employees I encountered in cosmetics were very helpful. I usually shop at the Macy's on 34th street if I need an item from Macy's, but it so happened that I stopped in at this particular location to look around with my aunt who was in town for vacation. Unfortunately, this place is just a mess; there isn't enough staff to help you in the shoe department, shoes are all over the floor and just poor service all around. The rudest sales representative is located by the jackets in the corner. As soon as I presented a coupon she said "no coupons allowed" I said how difficult it is to scan a bar code she repeated the same statement "no coupons allowed" I said there is no sign that says that and furthermore the coupon only excludes cologne and perfume and Ralph Lauren. She scans everything and selects no coupons on the register terminal I'm like lady do you own this store why are you being so spiteful, rude, and impolite. This review is only for the shoe section. Wow. Just imagine a toddler hyped up on sugar was allowed to room through here -- blindfolded -- and you have some idea what to expect. Shoes all over the place. No attempt at making the place even halfway decent to walk through. High prices for shoes that are clearly not worth it. I asked FOUR seperate people to help me find my size. The first woman walked right past me to another customer, though SHE CLEARLY HEARD MY REQUEST. Another person said that's not my department. A person AFTER THAT said that's not my department. I asked a fourth man and he pretended not to hear me. I asked again. Suddenly his hearing magically improved. I didn't come out with any shoes. Headed to the bathroom and I don't even want to go into how awful that was. Barely a decent stall to go into. I don't understand how a place like this is allowed to operate in this way. I got my make-up done for my nephew's wedding at the MAC counter at Macy's. I had an appointment but I had to wait a several minutes till the associate looked my way and asked what I needed. She brought me upstairs because she didn't seem interested in helping me out and said that I should wait for Denise who will help me. Denise was by herself so it took a while for her to start and to finish with me cause she kept getting interrupted with customers who needed help. They need more people at the counters and the associates downstairs have to stop being so lazy and help the customers. They even sent the next appointment up to Denise while she was finishing with me! On the make-up, it was Great! I kept getting compliments and it lasted the whole wedding, through sweat and tears. My make-up was finished at 2PM, when I got home at 2:30AM it looked like it had just been put on. Even the lipstick stayed with only one reapplication. If I ever go back I am asking for Denise! read more

This is the worst Macy's location!! The selection of clothing is absolutely terrible!!

I like this store but I drive ($3 all day parking) and I only go at 10:00am and am out by 11:00am. That's it. I would NEVER EVER go at any other time!!! At 10:00am the store is clean, empty and the staff is bright-eyed. I also have the Macy's Credit Card which gives you 20% off automatically. If you combine that with sales there are some GREAT DEALS to be had. Just yesterday I found an ECI Maxi Dress (this season's) normally $90 that I paid $22 for. Another thing is I never go with a list. I go when I have an hour to browse around and see what I can find bc I am only interested in sale and clearance items. I also want to add that I think the staff is very helpful, especially with finding the best coupon to use. I suppose it's because I am always friendly and nice to them even if things aren't going exactly my way. read more

I have been shopping at the Macy's @ King's Plaza shopping mall for over 40 years. It is convienient for me because I do live near by. Over the years I regret to say that sadly the store has gone downhill. MOST of the help is very disrespectful and really have no desire to help the customers. The apparel is displayed very willy-nilly, helter schelter, etc. The store has become very dishelved and whoever does the hiring leaves much to be desired. Bad experience with Macy's. We went into a Macys store and used our personal AMEX card pay for some clothes. This was back in June and July. Somehow the clerk managed to switch the payment onto a very old Macy's card that we never use. The address on the card was out of date and we never received the bills. Also, thinking we had paid on our regular AMEX card as we always do, we never had any idea that there was a bill on a Macy's card. Macy's sent bills to the old address and received them back in the mail as we were no longer there. They never attempted to call us about this. When I finally found out about this while doing a refi loan, I called and found that our payment was "late" and a lot of interest had racked up. Despite explaining the situation to Macy's they refused to waive the interest and then dinged our credit with the reporting bureaus. We have never made a late credit card payment in 15 years on any card. I called again to try to get them to correct the credit card bureau report and was given the third degree for about 20 minutes before the credit rep agreed to "make a proposal" to the credit card bureaux. That will be the last time we shop at Macys. I did call AMEX main company about this but they said they weren't responsible for their retailers card usage. As an AMEX card holder for over 10 years and having put over a million dollars on their cards, I think they should take more care of this kind of thing. It is their brand and it's getting sullied by Macy's indifference and lack of care to a good customer. If anyone at Macys or AMEX wants to reach me about this they can reply here and give me a number to call and I will give all the more specific details. To other consumers, I would advise to watch out for misuse of your Macy's credit card in the store or better yet, just don't trust them and go elsewhere. read more

Had the most unpleasant shopping experience with Macy's. The place is disorganized messy and hard to find someone to assist you. When you finally do get the staff to help you they totally miss lead you. I did want to get a suit there however when I was ready to pay I realized the jacket and jumper were two different sizes! I agreed on getting it this way since they couldn't find the mach to it but to no avail would the sales rep. let me get it even though it was the last piece....... I went to this store for the simple purpose of getting a few new shirts and everything seemed to be going fine. However 6 weeks later I'm being called and harassed to pay for the items that i already bought. As it turns out the employee charged my macy's card and pocketed my cash. Now I've been through 6 different phone operators over the past 2 and half hours trying to resolve the issue and no one seems to want to be in the least bit helpful I will never be coming back. Went to pick up a dress that a beautiful, kind, very helpful girl at Macy's Staten Island, on Sunday, March 26th told me they had in my size at Macy's Kings Plaza. She told me all of my options in which she would help me get the dress. Unfortunately, I chose to go to Macy's Kings Plaza. After going through all the racks, looking for the dress, I went to the register to ask for help. There were 2 women. One tall, the other short. Both were giving me so many excuses of why they couldn't help me. I needed to go find it on the racks & that's it. Accused me of expecting them to be my personal shopper by expecting them to look on the website & locate the dress in the store. The shorter of the two said that. After i went through every rack for a 2nd time I told the taller girl who was the only one there now that i didn't find the dress. She just stared at me and I left without the dress. I cannot express how horrible I felt at witnessing that level of rudeness, disrespect and irresponsibility. Shame on Macy's for allowing that kind of behavior. Completely disgusted!!! If that was my only option to shop, I would no doubt do without than ever subject myself to that again. read more
