3 years l later and they still only carry clothes for short fat people. I realize 33 waist isn't normal but 34 and 32 are. You'd think they'd have a variety of lengths but nope, can barely find a 34x34 or 32x34. The clothe racks are so disorganized too. I assume this is from the customers that go around looking for those hard to find sizes (you know 32x34 in pants) and they just leave the place a mess. What are the workers doing? They'll be 2 cashiers open in the entire clothes department so what are people doing if not organizing the place? How come so many clothes have tears and stains? Are these used? This place should just be shut down so some other legitimate company can come in and offer their services. The best thing to do at this place is to go here, try on some things and find the clothes online at another store and order them from there. You'll save at least $20 per article doing so. read more

Outside of the Braintree location I would say that this is my favorite Macy's location. It is conveniently located right near Downtown Crossing T station. It is a pretty good sized store and the store layout makes it easy to shop. I particularly like their cosmetics and fragrances department and I always receive great service there. I dig Macy's and while for the most part, the store seems organized, the sale/clearance sale is an absolute clusterf*ck. It's like the employees just gave up even trying to sort out things by size, or even between shirts and shorts for that matter. Sorry, but I'm not going to dig around for hours trying to find my size like a needle in some haystack. Also, what kind of store segregates their bathrooms across the whole store? Signage for the bathrooms is impossible to find, and when I found one, it happened to just be the men's bathroom. Apparently, women's was on the other side... why? I was shopping at Macy's on line and was having difficulty trying to place an order. At 78 yrs. of age, the computer isn't always easy. I decided to call the store and see if I could get some help and order with a sales clerk. I was referred to Kathy Dogherty at the Burlington, Ma. store in the women's dept. and she was extremely helpful. She placed the order for me and I was very happy I didn't have to personally go to the store in light of the pandemic. I purchased some jerseys on 11-23-20 and love the fit so I decided to order some more, this time on line... If it wasn't for Kathy, I would not have been able to place the order. She was very pleasant and helpful and an ASSET to the store. My credit card keeps getting declined online, not in store (or in any other store) because my security code is a triple number and because of that, the system keeps flagging it as declined. Last time I ordered, they found a manager who overrode the - whatever error it is in the software - but this time, they refused to override it and as nice as they were, the only recommendation was that I get a new card. Well, I use this card every day, multiple times a day and I'm not requesting a new credit card because one online site doesn't have the correct parameters written in to their code. Instead, I'll just stop shopping at Macy's all together which is quite a shame because I love Macy's but I recommend you contracting with different, and more equipped, software companies. read more

Merchandise is in disarray; display items in the kitchen/home section are dusty like they haven't been moved in a year; employees are generally clustered 4 or 5 together chatting in a corner and therefore not available in the departments to help. I went to look for crock pots, and of the handful of display models, one had a broken-off knob and another had a crack several inches long in the stoneware inside. The boxed items that you actually buy were not located near the corresponding display models, so I had to go searching for an employee to help. In 2017 this Macy's completed a remodel and expansion of the lower level and it now has a decent furniture department - not as big as the suburban locations but pretty sizable. read more

This is a busy downtown store that tries to keep things together. The store is located in an area that has a tough street vibe going on. I like the fact that store security is highly visible. Shopping environment is not for the meek. Some parts of the store are fine but, most of the store is tired and could use a good clean / updating but, this is a tough task with the sheer number of people who thunder through this place. Sales associates here for the most part have serious attitude...in all fairness I would also if I had to work here. Why shop here when your hometown location will offer the same low quality merchandise without the zoo like atmosphere? Walking around town each time, I noticed that there is a store that you caught my eye. Thats when I saw Macy's, I decided to go and check out a few things that I would need, since I was running out. Thats when I went to the intimate apparel and met an employer name Kevin which offered to help me find the perfect styles that would be the best fit for me. He was very polite and helped me until I found the stuff that I needed. He showed me the best deals that would help me choose the one for me. When I got the help I needed he also helped me check out after helping me choose the right styles. He told me that " the styles that we have now are some of the newest editions, I think maybe would like this style." As I was checking out I saw that there was a Macy card that was being promoted, so I asked Kevin about the card, and he told me that I would get 20% off on the card if I applied today but the thing with that was I didn't have a photo id on me that day which made it impossible for me to be able to sign up for the credit card. I asked him what kind of deals are there for the product that I bought and he told me that I would be able to buy the newest products. I really enjoyed going to the Macy's in downtown because many of the employers are very welcoming and they do there best to complete the needs of others. I went to this Macy's and I found it to be very clean. The store over all makes it a fun place to visit because there are also chairs that you can sit in to relax which is a very big plus. I walk by this Macy's on a weekly basis and each time I look into the scarves and hats section, it just always look like a shit show. Everything's scattered on the floor. This is visible for people walking by all the time. Sure, they've got some nice displays but you'd think they'd bother to pick up the stuff in the actual store too. Customer service is a mixed bag. I've had some really good experiences at the various cosmetic counters and others not so good. Today, I went over to MAC for the first time. I walked out of there in less than five minutes. Absolutely no acknowledgment from the staff. Though some other shopper who stood barely five feet away got acknowledged. Well then. Same thing at Estee Lauder. I knew the sales person was helping another woman, but great customer service would be to let me know that she'd helped me next. I was literally standing in front of the skincare display for over five minutes with my family with me trying to make eye contract with her. The salesperson wasn't just standing there talking to her customer. She was moving around finding stuff and totally ignored me, even when she stood behind the counter in front of me. Ladies, get ready to stand in long lines that never move because the registers are always held up with people buying 20 pieces that each require coupons and extra price checks and a manager that has to come over to evaluate an expired return or missing receipt or tag or something. Today I legit put $200 worth of items down and walked out because I didn't have the time to wait anymore (I tried 3 registers, all 6 cashiers with checkouts that we're taking forever due to special situations like returns and coupons that weren't working). I always pay my credit card bill religiously, but yet today I found out (yet again) you made a clerical error and reported to the credit bureau that I was delinquent on my account. Macy's does not want your business. This particular store and the Macy's corporation has a whole do not want you to shop there. I used to shop there all the time. But each trip got worse and worse. The last trip was so bad that I actually sent a comment to the company through their website and asked them if they just didn't want my money. They never replied, so I guess that answers my question. I had gone to pick up a cosmetic item that I had bought for the pre-sale. I was given my item with out even a thank you. I decided to buy more, but couldn't get anyone to ring me up. The girl was too busy with other customers to help me. I had spent 70 bucks on the pre-sale and was wanting to spend 50 more. But she wouldn't let me buy anything. Next I was looking to get a new mattress. Nobody helped me. I wanted to buy a 1700 dollar mattress, but once again I was not able to make a purchase. I did go elsewhere and bought one. Macy's did not want 1700 dollars from me. The whole time I was in the department I was subjected to a very loud and obnoxious ringing phone. It was never answered. I guess Macy's did not want that customer's business either. A manager did enter the area, and avoided eye contact with me before quickly scurrying out. That was the interesting thing. While they had hardly any sales staff I did see managers all over the place blantently ignoring customers and just chatting away with each other. The final straw was when two of them came barreling through the aisle forcing me to jump aside and actually bump my leg painfully against a table. They didn't care. So there you go. "Want a free $500 Macy's Gift Card?" I fucking HATE when I read that bulletin! Worst trick, EVER. Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know this place is a dump, and each time I walk by the Men's Roca Wear / Sean John section, I swear I hear gunshots... but they actually have some decent things at this Macy's. I fucking LOVE Lacoste, and they have all the Lacoste I need. I don't need any of the jeans (which they sell) because they are hideous. So in comparison, it's about the same size as the men's section at the store in the Pru and way larger than Neiman's. They stopped selling Diesel, Ben Sherman, and Fred Perry, so they can go to hell for that, but they still have Hugo Boss, and Kenneth Cole. But the icing on the cake is the COUPZZZ! I am a Platinum card holder (I was a stupid teenager, but I get 12 free gift wraps a year), and my mailbox is always full of crazy coupons, and if you read them closely, they have a ton out there (in the metro, herald, globe, etc.) that have limited restrictions. They started selling designer sunglasses this year, and they were not excluded. I totez got 20% off my Gucci's, because the only designer listed was Louis Vuitton. After we bitched at each other for 5 minutes, the manager told me I was banned from doing that again ... so let me know if you want to use my other 50 coupz and tell them I sent you. read more

*shudder* Since my risk of contracting hepatitis is about 700% higher inside these walls than out I think they should hand out 25% discount cards at the door. Since they do not TWO STARS. Apparently there's not room enough for decent clothes since the over-sized Ecko and Sean John items take up so much space. I don't walk too much toward the other side ever since they had the mannequins wearing five (yes, FIVE) polo shirts, each with the collars popped. Encouraging people to continue dressing that way is unacceptable. That's ok though since those dressing rooms are not fit for human occupancy. It's realllllly hard to try on jeans while holding your breath and balancing precariously on top of your shoes (safety first!) one leg at a time. These are times when I am thankful for my yoga classes. These are also times I think I should attend more yoga classes. :-/ Today they had "I'VE GOT THE POWER" (Oh, Snap. Literally) blazing from some speakers by the men's department. Classy. I guess there was a signing of some sort but could you tone it down? So you arrive in the USA and need underwear? Where do you go? Oh.. look.. there's a Macy's. That'll be good. I've seen that on TV before. I've heard of that. Kanye West made it look cool... Well actually the Boston one is not so cool. It's pretty grim. The ground floor department may as well be a nuclear bunker for all the natural light it gets. It just FEELS oppressive. Like there is a parking lot for industrial machinery on the floor above. And being at downtown crossing is not a great spot either. Sketchy, dirty and cheap is how I'd describe the area. All (100%) of the men's clothes, including the underwear, shoes, wallets, whatever, were horribly middle-aged and middle-america with super-large sizes and styles that belongs in outlet malls. Even when they were European labels like Adidas or high-end names like Ralph Lauren. Macy's target audience is simply not me which is a shame as the Kanye West video did look very good. read more

This review is localized specifically to the Clinique counter. I have recently discovered skincare, and I very much enjoy the Clinique line of products and stroking my newly softened cheeks. HOWEVER. I have yet to approach these overpriced pastel bottles, gleaming their mirror-and-florescent glow, without a saleswoman greeting me with an insult to make her point: "Oh, your skin is so DRY!" "DO you moisturize?" "So, clearly you don't use make-up, huh?" "Oh, if your t-zone is this oily now, you certainly don't want the *regular* lotion." Ladies. Making women feel pampered while they buy high-end powders and creams is like shooting fish in a barrel. I am there to buy, not be lectured as to how much I desperately need your product. Do stores ring up your clothing purchases while "helpfully" pointing out how your current sweater looks like shit? No, I thought not. Also, they ring you up on those cash registers that don't show you the price and then hand you non-itemized receipts, so you just kind of have to take their kinda-sketchy word for it that your new eyeliner cost $22, even though they practiced on you with a $15 one. In sum, I am crossing my fingers for the day that Clinique corporate parasails in in their fresh-smelling, dewy magnificence and schools these fools. read more

What's sad is that tourists encounter places like this when they visit the city. It's actually embarrassing. Some of the most disgusting dressing rooms I have ever encountered in my lifetime (see photo). In the mens suits area the carpet is embedded with thousands of needles. In the mens casual section the dressing rooms have been used as urinals by the area homeless population and barely cleaned. Wow, Macy's, great job. Just smashing. When I go to a department store and drop a few hundred dollars, what I want is to be treated gruffly and then have my purchase messed up. Why not? I'm sure you get so many customers that you don't actually care about my experience... So my boyfriend and I stopped in here on a dress hunt not long ago. He needed a new suit and shoes and I need a new spring wardrobe for my job as well. I split ways with him at the jewelry counter and decided to meet back up in an hour. I proceeded to peruse the upstairs selection of questionable women's fashion for some time before I was approached. I got a few unpleasant looks from staff, likely because I had purple hair at the time, but I brushed it off. In department store settings, I prefer to browse unattended. The issue came when I went to try on a couple of things. I was told I couldn't bring my bag into the dressing room and would need to leave it in the seating room sitting area, unattended, while I tried things on. This has never happened to me before, and despite really liking one of the dresses I was holding, I handed all my items to the sales associate and walked away. My boyfriend had a much better experience with his suit and shoes. That is, until we brought them home. To be fair, he should have checked the clothes that night, as he had a major interview the next day. The next morning, sure enough, they've given him someone else's suit, several sizes too small, with a different pickup slip, different sales associate's name on the slip than the one he worked with and that person's Macy's card number written out on the tag. Fortunately, he was able to throw another outfit together, but the staff were gruff and almost accusative when we did the return. I'm sorry, should we have made YOUR job easier, Macy's? I'm never shopping here again. One star for the shoe associate, though. He was friendly, funny and very helpful in getting my boyfriend a pair of shoes that actually, finally have laces. :P read more

Not one greeted me or offered to assist. I had to go in search of an employee to find a fitting room, and when I found someone they pointed to see someone else, who pointed to see someone else, who told me to wait while he folded shirts. Hello, I would like to spend some money. When I spend money, your store makes money, and when your store makes money they then have money to pay you. So really, I'm kinda paying your salary. See how this works? And don't try to use the $5 donation coupon, it's confusing to the staff and they won't bother to call someone to ask about how it works. Women's Shoes: This is supposedly a department store but the shoes are in such disorder making TJ Maxx and Marshalls look like a Avenue Montaigne boutique in comparison. There were five jaded male store associates there, no interest in arranging the merchandise, just walking around like zombies in ties and unmatched wrinkled shirts. I walked up to the cashier desk holding a shoe asking if they had size 5 or 5.5. The associate (tall, black messy morning hair) went into the back room, came back and instead of informing me whether my size was available or not started talking to another customer. I walked up to him and said: I guess you didn't have it? He replied Noo... with a slightly arrogant tone and sleepy look in his face matching his hair. Jewelry and Beauty section both look relatively neat and the associates working there are nice, professional and seem to enjoy what they are doing. Juniors and Lingerie downstairs have nice associates who are both friendly and actually run around to put things in order Home Store: Every time I have been here all the cashiers are empty. Last time I intended to quickly pickup two items from a wedding registry. No luck finding them by looking around myself in the Martha Stewart section so I walked around the store for an associate to help me. She was busy with another customer, finally she checked up the items in their database and tried to locate it, got interrupted by the previous customer but pointed out in which direction the items were, I found them (randomly stuck in among non-Martha Stewart items) and again looked for an associate to check-out. Totally I spent 2+ hours here. read more

While I really like Macy's the company, this is the most disgusting, frustrating-to-shop in outlet I've ever seen. Merchandise is disorganized and messy, signs are unclear, and it's just plain dirty. It's also hit-or-miss whether the employees who help you are rock stars or what the French call "les incompetents." My worst experience here was right after Christmas when I wanted to exchange a gift of towels for a different color. Macy's had used a web-only SKU on the packing slip, so the sales associate couldn't figure out how to let me exchange the towels for an identical set in a different shade. He offered me two options: Make the exchange and pay a huge price difference, or outright return the unwanted towels for a few dollars (literally; he offered me under ten dollars for about $150 worth of new towels). Basically, Macy's mistake was going to be my loss. I was so frustrated by this situation that I thought, screw it, and went to leave. Fortunately, another employee, Robyn, intercepted me as I stormed out of the housewares department. She was able to override the incorrect SKU and make the even exchange. Robyn was fantastic. If I hadn't run into her, I guarantee I'd never have set foot in that Macy's again. As it is, I don't think you'll find me there too often. What's with all the Macy's hate? As one of my last working credit cards, I come here more often than other stores. I think it's nicer than Cambridgeside. Definitely more of a selection. The thing is.. you gotta DIGGGGG. I've gotten $200 dresses for $25 on the top floor.. and $70 sweaters for $10 on the juniors level. I only go when there are sales AND I bring computer coupons (sign up for their e-list). The shoe sales can be phenomenal (buy two pairs get one free was the last deal I went for the kill on.. but it's a ZOOOO). The ladies at the Chanel and MAC make up counters are pretty cool (stage make up kids.. we all know I don't know how to apply that stuff on my own). Although the Chanel woman was only nice when I got into my pushy witch mode because I had like 10 minutes before my call. The woman at MAC (I'll find out her name) that helped me out was AWESOME. She helped me perfect my grungy-biker-just-got-hit-by-a-car-and-didn't-go-to-the-hospital-look (yeah.. I have one apparently!). God I love theater.. and smoky eyes. Generally the Macy's staff is alright. I don't interact with them much as I'm an iPod wearin' shopper (I don't roll to the club beats of Macy's juniors). Fave quote? Cashier: (Says my last name).. What is that? Me: Muh? Cashier: You know.. what does it mean? Me: Uh.. nothing? Cashier: What are you? Me: (not in the game playin' mood) The last name is Spanish/Filipino. This is one ghetto Macy's. The racks are a mess and the fitting rooms are not only poorly maintained but they're dirty! I also hate how the women's departments are spread between the basement (which includes juniors and lingerie in addition to kid's stuff) and the top floor (rest of women's including dresses & plus size). I don't know, the layout just doesn't make sense to me, but I figure they didn't wanna put the men's dept. somewhere less accessible than the main floor since guys won't bother as much to go to the other floors..?? Who knows. The selection of items and offering of brands is also lower quality at this location. I realize this is Macy's and not Bloomingdales, but the Macy's at Natick Mall for example will have a way better offering. The makeup dept. is decent though. Who shops at Macy's at 1pm on a Friday afternoon? Answer: Everyone and there Moms! If someone could tell me how so many people can have the type of life style that allows for midday gown shopping, that would be great. I needed a cocktail dress for law school graduation, I came to Macy's specifically at this time, hoping I would avoid a madhouse. Nope. FAIL. I immediately went into "concert position" which means elbows out and a large scowl. The dressing rooms were unattended with clothes piled in every changing room. I didn't so much mind the lack of attention (it can be annoying when someone is checking on you every 5 seconds) but I dragged over 20 dresses to the dressing room without one person asking if I needed a hand. I found an awesome cocktail dress (it flounces! I've never owned something so pretty!) for 20% off. After waiting in line for a while, I grew grumpy.... but then I WAS GREETED WITH A SMILE FROM THE CASHIER. A genuine one at that, a smile that subtly conveyed "I am so sorry that your arms are tired and that another customer elbowed you in the stomach when you reached for the Ellen Tracey." Not only did she smile at me, she offered me a coupon for another 20% off. I could have hugged her. I must have thanked her a at least 5 times, and by thank you #4, her genuine smile seemed to diminish a bit into a look of concern (understandable!) With my new dress in tow, I headed over to the shoe section. IF YOU SUFFER FROM LACK OF PATIENCE DO NOT GO HERE. Shoes were everywhere, I tripped on a pile and stubbed my toe on a rack. I found a lovely pair of flats on a chair that someone left behind. SCORE! Said shoes were 30% off. I brought these shoes to the shoe cashier "Who helped you today" - Cashier "No one, I found these on a chair" - Me ::BEWILDERED LOOK" "Uhhh.. I'll get to the bottom of this. We need a code. Ahhh hey did you help her? No, oh ok. Bernard did you help her? No, ok" .... Cashier walks away I stood at the check out for another 5 minutes. Said cashier was now helping other customers. I made eye contact with the manager. "How can I help you" - Manager "I found these shoes on a chair and I guess you guys need a code" - Me "Uhhh.. well let's see, what did the person look like who helped you" -Manager "No one helped me, I found them on a chair" - Me "Errr, ok, ummm Bernard did you help her" No, hmm ok"- Manager "NO ONE HELPED ME I CAME HERE AND I FOUND THEM ON A CHAIR" - Me "Oh ok, I guess we will fix this later"- Manager. Transaction complete. I was able to purchase a great dress and shoes to match for very cheap. The cashier who worked in the women's dress section was lovely (African American woman, faux-hawk, I wish I knew her name because I would love to give her props), but everything else was horrendous. read more

I kick myself every time I have to go into this store...avoiding it at all costs...but sometimes living in the city without a car, you just need things you know they have. I have really never had a positive experience in the 6-8 times I have been in here. Here are a couple examples... Needed a new suit for work. First of all there was one associate for about 4-5 customers milling around the suit department. You would think that a high priced item like suits would have plenty of sales associates. Second the aisles are very tight and the amount of items placed on the rack make it almost impossible to shop. Third, hard to believe, but almost nothing is organized by size. Apparently it is supposed to be...the sales associate pointing to a rack with my size - everything from 34 to 52. I ended up going to the Men's Warehouse across the street for excellent customer service...albeit not exactly what I had originally wanted. The associates in the Home department must be put in the basement for a reason. If you can find anyone...they are usually chit chatting, trying to prevent theft (someone had just stolen a duvet off the display bed) or generally avoiding customers. They certainly are not organizing and keeping things tidy...just head over to the shower curtains way over in the corner to see the mess that they are in (I check on them every time I go in...never touched or fixed). I heard a manager upset with a sales associate for the stores numbers and the daily sales...completely inappropriate in front of customers. This is purely a management issue...the store doesn't need to be and should not be like this. It's too bad that, as the only full department store in the city, that the Macy's organization is so blind to what happens in this store. Is it just not profitable store? I do have to say that, given the frequent lack of sales associates present, the security staff is very knowledgeable with the store and always seem very helpful with customers. Did someone piss in the men's dressing room? Seriously, someone thinks the dressing room is a urinal. At least you could clean it up afterwards. I was given a gift card here for xmas, and this Macy's is closest to home. Five times I have gone to this dump of a dept store to try to spend my money, and there is literally not a nice thing in the whole massive store for me to buy. What a disappointment. read more

This Macy's is very conveniently located by the Green Line Park Street stop, so I come here to pick up online orders or to return things. (Good luck actually finding something to buy in the store while browsing... everything is so disorganized!) I've had some pretty unpleasant experiences here over the past ten months. Here are my complaints and experiences about this location: 1) Today, I saw a brown mouse scurry across the floor on the second floor Women's department. It ran from underneath a customer's service desk into an inventory room! This was my first time ever seeing a mouse in a department store, and I have been to department stores located in much worse neighborhoods than this location. Also, who wants to pay potentially hundreds of dollars for articles of clothing that may have had contact with mice at some point? 2) Whenever I return something to this location, the people at customer's service often act like making a return is a weird thing to do. They make comments or tell me to look around the store to find similar articles of clothing. It personally doesn't bother me at all, but shouldn't they be used to customers making returns, since so many people shop at Macy's? I've never had a problem with an article not being accepted or a return not going through, though. 3) They need to hire more cashiers who speak better English, or alternatively, they need to hire more cashiers who are multilingual. This becomes an issue when cashiers who don't speak English well interact with customers who similarly don't speak English well. For instance, the language barriers from both sides of the cash register create situations where cashiers will spend ten minutes trying to determine whether the customers have a Macy's card or would like to sign up for one, which makes everyone else in line wait for a really long time. This becomes especially annoying when it happens in the single customer service desk that functions as the place to pick up online purchases, so customers must wait for the issue to be resolved. If they hire more multilingual people to work in customer service, they would be able to resolve such issues more quickly. Overall, I really am not a fan of this Macy's location. read more

Pick your battles. Don't battle here. Live to fight another day. Every time I enter from the intersection of Washington and Summer Street I'm immediately visually assaulted by an assortment of overly makeuped women and bright lights. As I turn away in pain and attempt march along, phase two of this onslaught is unleashed upon me. It is at this point that my olfactory senses are bombarded with a toxic mixture of oil, cologne and perfume. It's at this time I truly empathize with the Greatest Generation and the hardship they encountered on the shores of Normandy. This place is bad. It has a poor selection... of everything. read more

This Macy's is tired looking and overdue for a facelift. It did not prevent me from spending a lot of money there, but my shopping experience was not the best. I appreciate that a lot of the employees are ESL speakers, but shouldn't there be a baseline of English proficiency? One saleslady in the perfume department did not understand what I was asking, I could not understand what she was saying, and when she deferred to one of her colleagues, they could not understand what she was saying as well. Hmmm, how did she get the job? The change rooms and the bathrooms were quite atrocious. The change rooms in lingerie were dirty, littered with piles of unwanted garments and had an aroma like a hybrid of sweat and ass. Gross! In the restrooms, they did not provide seat covers so the floor was littered with improvised toilet paper seat covers. Even if your floor tiles are cracked and the building is old you can at least clean it once in a while! All was not bad. We had a good interaction with Christina in luggage. She was pretty much the only professional salesperson we encountered in our time at the Macy's. The merchandise is good if you can find it or get sales assistance. Macy's is also good about giving their credit card holders extra savings discount cards like an additional 20% off or $20 of purchase of $50 or more, which I used. There is a T stop right outside the store. If you have the ability to go to another Macy's I would definitely take advantage of it. read more

This Macy's had very good customer service. Had a few questions while shopping for some Christmas presents. All of the sales associates were very eager and willing to assist me throughout my shopping experience. Even received some Macy's Money Reward Cards. Just as good as cash but can't start using until Friday, Dec.18th and needs to be used before Wednesday, Dec. 23rd. Pretty short fuse to use but really cool to get benefits for spending (similar to Kohl's) The only negative was that the MAC department is separate from the regular Macy's so you can ring up non-Macy's items there. Just a few cash register away so not that big of a deal. It just would've been cool to get more Money Rewards. read more

One star earned for each time that Macy's has been there for me when I really needed it. 1. While coming back from a all you can drink event at the zoo, I could not have loved Macy's and their cleaner-than-the-T bathrooms more. Ask Johnna M; we will forever idolize this place just for that. 2. Mom needed to buy slippers for a present. I was able to pop in and buy them before catching my train at South Station. Bonus points from mom are priceless. 3. Major wardrobe malfunction on an early Monday morning. Macy's was pretty clutch for me today. So while the store may be a mess and staff unhelpful, I have not peed myself or shown up to work pantsless. Three stars are well earned here. read more

I actually kind of like this Macy's, in a ghetto type of way. Over the holidays, I spent a lot of time in this store, as this is where my guest wanted to do all her shopping. I only buy things here that are on super sale. Like I bought a red Guess dress coat for $139 down from $300, and a bling -bling ring for $15 that was originally %50. I won't spend full price for any of their items, but I scour for the sales. As far as the associates, I tend to ignore them, because I hate overly pushy attendants, so if they are no where to be found, that is fine with me. The neighborhood isn't the most beautiful, but you can see that the city is trying to fix it up. I also love how the T comes right up into the store! Bonus! read more

Macy's, you just single-handedly got me into the holiday spirit. Thank you. So, I know that this place can be super packed, sometimes a mess, and nothing as good as Filene's used to be, but you've won me over today Macy's and your employees. And here is why: 1. Somehow I timed it so that it wasn't a madhouse during the holiday season. 2. Customer service gets 10 stars!! The woman I asked about where to find scarfs, got up from what she was doing and led me there. One woman at the register gave me a bag for the non-Macy's stuff I was having a hard time wrangling, even without me asking, she just saw me struggling. The man at the register was more than cheery, helpful, and competent. 3. There were morning sales and a $10 off coupon so I scored a some great deals. Thanks Macy's! And thank you for having such wonderful employees in the men's section. read more
