Their customer service is excellent I especially in the shoe department they have new scanners that uses real time to locate inventory! GIFT CARD BUYERS BEWARE! Macys has been having an issue with some internal fraud with gift cards. Someone is stealing gift card numbers and using them. I had a $200 gift card that I tried to use but it was cashed out. The manager at the SF location claims she saw this same problem happen 2 months ago. Fortunately the person that gave me the gift card saved the receipt so we could prove we didnt use it elsewhere. The gift card I received was issued in Arcadia and cashed out in Riverside. My concern is once the back is scratched you can't prove or disprove you didn't spend the cash yourself. My fatty recommendation is to stop using macy's gift card services because they can't keep their shit safe. It took over an hour to get a new card reissued. Buy these gift cards at your own risk. I have been going to this Macy's and this whole friggin mall for over 20 years now!! I have seen it evolve into what is it today! Speaking of Macy's only, though, it has always been very consistent. The merchandise here isn't the best but I always seem to find something and it always works out some how when I am here. The employees here always seem very courteous and helpful. Haven't really had a bad experience that I could recall. The last time I was here was for Estee Lauder. There was a make up event hosted by Estee Lauder and they had Bobby Wang come in. He's some world class make up artist who was visiting from overseas. The event took palce right outside the first floor Macy's in the atrium area. It was nice and they had refreshments and cookies for us during this free event. After, we got to meet one on one with a make up artist for tips, tricks, and even a make over! Macy's is one of my favorite stores to shop in; but lately every visit, I see a dog in the store. Without fail! These dogs are being walked through the clothing department. They are not seeing eye dogs. Yes, most behave better than the children running around; but animals should not be in department stores unless it is a seeing eye dog. Are these animals allow in the dressing rooms? A lady had a small dog in a stroller; and seriously that dog was stinky. I thought it was someone standing in line to check out but discovered it was the dog. According to your employees, they can not say any thing to these customers. Maybe, I should start bringing my large pitbull dog in to shop with me. No employee or manager better tell me that I can not have my dog in the store because I will sue for discrimination. I think you get my point. I spend money at Macy's and I do expect to have a good shopping experience there. I love animals but I do not take them shopping with me. I respect that others may not want to be around my pets. Can you imagine if 50% of your customers start bringing animals into your store while shopping? Dressing rooms are always a mess and left unattended. Bathrooms usually smell or are being cleaned as you are doing your business. Clothes in the women's section are usually unorganized and mixed up around the store. However, the service is great in almost all departments. I went in (11/12/15) to the men's shoes section to purchase some sneakers from the finish line there. I saw two pair of shoes I want to purchase, but didn't see the finish line representative. Then she comes out of the back and was assisting another customer which literally took 15 minutes. Who takes 15 minutes to ring out one pair of shoes. Anyway after that mess was over I waited for her to approach me and ask me if I need assistance. I know she saw but but never came over. I then asked to see the two pair of sneakers I wanted to purchase. If they had not have been such good deals I would of left without making a purchase. They are having a Darphin Paris event April 23rd. I was so excited to hear the Bluemercury is open inside Macys. What?? The leading prestige cosmetics and skincare line. Beats Sephora in a heart beat. I say this because its a very casual sales environment and from my past couple visits I've received free facials, and makeup application. The people there aren't pushy and they are very professional. Zelda and Andrew are the people to see. And if your an Asian client pei pei is the other gal that's very proficient and patient. I received a makeup over and the gals there booked me for an appointment for a free 30 min Darphin facial for this weekend. Im so excited!!! This Macy's has very bad customer service. The clerks are aloof and are not willing to help every customer. A blonde clerk named Debbie only wanted to help the customers who were buying the expensive products. We had a question to ask her about a product that was in the clearance pile and patiently waited while she was done counting her money. There was no one else around. When she was done, she decided to help another customer who was buying a more expensive product. We decided to continue shopping instead of waiting for her to finish helping the other customer. We were then ready to pay at her register, but she told us she was busy with something and we decided to go to another register at a different part of the store. All she did was stand there. Another store still the same junk...I purchased a crock pot from Macys. Brought it home..What a mess. The lid did not fit on the top of the crcok pot. You had to keep on working with the lid to make it fit and even then there was a gap...The pot was placed in the burner...That didnt fit. It slid all over the place. Men' suit department. Look for Jerry. She's friendly, funny, and she will make your suit or slacks or coats shopping an interesting event. She's been there forever but she loves that place. My husband and son have been shopping there for years and we won't shop any other place. If they don't have our size, they'll gladly ship the suits to your home at no charge. Only take a few days for the merchandise to arrive, always in great shape. By the way, if you need shoes, it's only a few steps away from the suits' department. I had the worst experience here in their linen department with the lady that rung me up at the register. I understand that it was the end of the night and she may have wanted to go home, but she didn't have to approach her sales pitch with such an attitude. They usually ask you if you want to sign up for their Macy's credit card. As I answered no to the credit card option she made a snide remark " oh I guess you don't want to save $." Her comment was uncalled for and not only that she also tried to make an upsell pitch at me after she was rude to me. Beware of rude customers and un-trained employee!! I placed an order on Macy's web site and came to this store to pick it up. This is the first time I used "Free Pick Up" at Macys.com. The confirmation email indicated that the pick-up area is at Men's Suits Department. I went to the Men's section, did not see any signs about Online Order Pickup (which is quite common in many other department stores these days). An employee walked by (wish I had got her name) so I asked her about where to pick up online orders. She said depends on what I ordered. I explained what I bought and showed her the email I received. She gave me a real puzzled look without even bother to look close to the email, instead, repeatedly saying that she has to know what I ordered. Then, there came this lady who simply cut in and started asking questions. Normally, at least when this happened in my shopping experience elsewhere, an employee would ask the 2nd customer to hold briefly when she is in the middle of helping someone who requests assistance first. But not in this case. They went on and on to a point that I was about to walk away. This employee suddenly pointed to a check out line and told me to ask the cashier/sales. Luckily, the employee at the checkout counter was nice and even guided me to where I can see a clear direction for online order pickup. It turned out the online order pick up desk has a sign hanged from the ceiling. It's obvious if you are next to it, but not from other location at the store. I'm giving this start to the nice lady at the counter who helped me. And for Macy's at Santa Anita, could I suggest - - Put a clear sign at every entrances about where to pick up online orders. - Train your employees to properly serve customers by the order of requests. And please tell them where the Online Order Pickup area is. read more

I have never been so satisfied with Macy's in my life! They are lucky to have Jeff (in men's wear) as an employee! I found something online i needed for a shoot ASAP, I knew shipping would take too long so I decided to call my local. It's the week before Christmas so I kept getting hung up on by (I'm sure) employees who were just too busy. Finally Jeff answered I explained the situation and he asked for the item number, he was able to look it up and see that they had 5 in the stock room! I was shocked! He put me on a brief hold to go make sure they had it. He took my name and held the item for me. When I showed up a few hours later he was there. The size I originally wanted was too big so he hurried back and got a small. He rang up the item and it was $10 more than it was online. I have been to this location several times and I can NEVER seem to find anyone walking the floor to assist me or ask a question. That aside, I went in because I was hoping Lancôme would have gift with purchase as I needed face make up and decided for the first time in my life.... I wanted a makeover! I was going out for a friends birthday and just wanted some pampering and a new look. Well, when I asked them they said they were "too busy" although at 11am I was the ONLY customer there. Very disappointed and tempted to stop buying my $45 face powder that I have purchased from them for YEARS now. Worst customer service here especially the old asian lady name linda. She's super rude and disrespectful. Encountered her twice on different days and she was unpleasant both times. She always has a mean face on. I remember encountering her the first time and that was enough for me to remember her face and rude personality.
