I have been here many times, the service, atmosphere and menu is awesome! Russell provides great service and is very accommodating! Having been in the restaurant service industry, I appreciate all Mac's offer plus the experience! read more

We have gone to Mac's for at least 15 years. Never disappointed. Upscale dining at a reasonable price.

Super brunch spot. Great food! Super attentive and friendly server. Great brunch cocktails. What's not to like? We will return when we are next in Grapevine. read more

We went their for their French dip and made a strong point that my wife wanted it well done. When it came out it was medium at best and my wife pulled the meat out and put it on n the bread plate. The waitress didn't acknowledge that she wanted it well done and even when the manager came over he didn't pull it from the bill. Not a place we will ever return to read more

This place is awesome!! Truly. Everything was exceptional. Grab fingers are amazing. Bread and butter! Man! Drinks amazing! Evan our waiter was fantastic!! read more

Been to Mac's twice. Once for lunch and once for dinner. I recommend for good quality lunch fare. Dinner? I would look elsewhere until management can fix a few things. There is a disparity between the price and the offering. This is actually a $$$ location according to the menu rates. It shouldn't be. I feel like I overpaid. The size of the portions are great! That and the demeanor of the wait staff are the only things that should NOT change. The quality of the plates seems sub-par and lacking. First, the decor...Kick it up a notch. Pay for higher-end tables and chairs. It makes a difference. You have an amazing location and better potential. I had the tuna steak. It was cooked okay but it didn't taste fresh. The portion was uber-generous, but more than I could eat (what a waste). My side: The green bean with garlic was a good flavor combination. Try making it without using chopped garlic in a jar. Fresh garlic is a good start. read more

Pretty good but not great. Came here with 4 of us in town for a conference. Pros: good wine list and drinks menu. Prices were fair. Rib eye steak was good and they let me substitute potato for spinach. The manager stopped by to ask how everything was. They let us get 4 separate checks. Cons: We were sat at a terrible table upfront until I asked if we could have the open booth instead. Everyone was glad I asked to move tables. The group salad bowl was not good. Individual salad would have been better. The bread was meh. The service was decent but not a lot of listening going on. read more

We came for a Sunday late lunch with friends and I give Mac's a solid three stars. I had the French dip sandwich and liked it, especially the au jus. The beef could have had more flavor. Fries were good. Yummy shared salad had several types of lettuce and feta, but too much dressing. My husband enjoyed his chicken fried chicken a lot and would come back for it. The fruit salad bar was as advertised. Totally agree with William L that Mac's owners could spend some $ on décor. It felt stark, not warm, not upscale, no ambiance whatsoever. Pros: the communal salad was tasty, Good chicken-fried chicken, nice downtown location Cons: lacks ambiance, prices for sandwiches and bistro fare are high, salad was drowned in dressing Tip: sit by the window and enjoy downtown view. read more

Probably a 4.5. Nice diverse menu. Fairly priced. Very nice staff! We will be back. Good location. Someone should be patrolling Main though!

Wow great chicken salad sandwich. Such A beautiful day to eat out on the patio. I love the new Mac's. The look is so clean and modern. Nothing has changed here. Great food, great service and awesome atmosphere. read more

Mac's On Main - Already ate half before I posted. Loved this sandwich. - Seafood Near Me - Grapevine, Texas

This is an awesome place!!! Great atmosphere. Great place for an awesome meal without all the overwhelming noise of a lot of other local "high end" restaurants that pack you in like cattle. The service was outstanding. Professional without being bothersome. The food? Great!! Well presented with excellent portion sizes and outstanding appetizers. The wine selection is as good as you will find, and they have some tasty wines by the glass if you don't want a full bottle. Ask for the blackened prime rib. It's not on the menu, but it's delicious. My new favorite place in Grapevine. Well...actually, in all the mid cities..... read more

Went last night with my husband and another couple. We had a reservation and were told we could sit at the bar until our party arrived. Unfortunately after 5 minutes at the bar and 3 people behind the bar, nobody had even acknowledged us. There was only one other person sitting there! However after we sat down, the service was top notch. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great too! read more

We found this place on Open Table. The atmosphere was very nice and people were dressed from shorts & tshirt to dress clothes. Very friendly staff greeted us. My husband and I both ordered a salad and it came out in a shareable portion. Kind of a boring salad for me with too much dressing, but my husband loved it. He ordered the shrimp etouffee that he said was a bit weird. The "sauce" was bland with no spice. It lacked substance. Rice, sauce & a few shrimp. I got the chicken fried steak and baked potato. I will return again just for this. Hand tenderized, not over battered, brown cream gravy....delicious! Front staff again told us to come back and was friendly as we left. They do have patio dining as well. read more

This was my first time at this restaurant and I was very pleased! The service was great. Even on a busy night, 3 different waiters checked up on my table plus the manager. The prices reflect the great quality of food they have and the atmosphere is very intimate and warm. If you want to go out for a special occasion in grapevine, this is a great selection! A+ on the steak!! read more

Was a little hard to find since I'm not too familiar with the area. Once I realized where it was exactly, you really can't miss it. There is street parking or a small lot behind the building as well as a parking garage. (Garage parking may be for residential nearby, not sure). I went on a Monday night so I easily found a place to park. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. When we were first seated, the hostess sat us directly next to another table already eating when the entire dining area was empty. I know servers have sections and I hate to be "that" person, but we did ask to move to a little more private area in the back. It was my 4 year anniversary with my boyfriend. We told this to the waitress. She let us spend some time talking and what not since we weren't ready to order right away. She said she'd give us some privacy and that whenever we were ready to just move the candle to the end of the table so that she didnt keep bothering us. This was a great move. Started with Calamari and Dumplings. Both worth it. We cleared the plates. Loved all the dipping sauces. The Sriracha sauce was extra spicy, which I like, but beware if you dont. It doesnt linger too long, but has a good kick. My boyfriend and I ordered the Shrimp with Citrus Beurre Blanc Sauce and the Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna. Both were absolutely awesome. The shrimp was not overcooked at all. The ahi tuna was amazing. I almost didn't order it because sometimes sesame is a bit overpowering for me, but to no avail, it was fantastic. Seared to perfection. I wouldn't suggest veggies as the side though unless you really like onions. Nothing wrong with the flavor or the way it was cooked, it was just mostly sautéed onions (I personally dont like onions anyway) and a few pieces of zucchini/squash. Next time, I'll ask for broccoli/cauliflower/carrots instead. 7 cheese mac n cheese was wonderful. Baked in a small ramekin with the scrumptious crumbles on top. Drinks are reasonably priced and didn't break the bank on our bill. Cocktail menu isnt anything special. Lots of different martinis though. Liquor drinks are your typical Tom Collins, Old fashioned, etc. We finished all of our food. I'd recommend trying it out. read more

It hurt me to only give this restaurant 3 stars. The food and drinks deserve 5 stars!! My husband & I were seated and waited 15 minutes as the waitress we were suppose to have stood and chatted at another table for over 15 minutes. She's tall, slender and wears glasses. She never looked at us!!!!!!! Tyler came in from another area of the restaurant and asked us if we had been offered a drink. We responded no and asked if the talking waitress was our server. After he responded yes, he offered to take care of us. Tyler deserves 5 stars!! This was our anniversary dinner and we had a reservation. We have been to this restaurant before and we were very disappointed with the early service. Tyler was a complete gentleman & very professional. read more

The crab cakes were yummy plus the dumplings too. Hunter behind the bar keeps this place spick-&-span clean. She was helpful and attentive on my first visit here on a slow Wed. evening. I'll be back when I'm in Grapevine. read more

Haven't been here for a really long time, maybe 14 years? Wanted a good blue cheese salad and they didn't disappoint. It was as delicious as I remembered it from the past. It is there signature side salad and not the creamy blue cheese dressing either. Also ordered crab cakes and they were definitely fresh and amazing. My waiter was Josh and he was so nice and helpful. I am just coming off shoulder surgery and asked him to cut my salad up so I could eat and he graciously cut it up for me with a smile. That is great customer service and he is a very personable waiter. I will not wait so late by next time to be back. read more

We had a lovely time at Max's last Sunday. Not crowded. Food was excellent. Service was great. A solid staple in Grapevine. For a nice evening out, give them a try. You will not be disappointed. read more

The waitress was nice but the restaurant was not accommodating. Harvey was awful. Would never go there again.

Went with a friend from out of town last night. Hadn't seen him in months. Picked him up at his hotel, went to Mac's. Had dinner which was good. In talking with him today, found out we were both sick last night/this morning. We shared nothing; we had completely different entrées and drinks. But both got sick. You do the math. read more

Server was attentive, knowledgeable and kind food was yummy. I expected this place to be pretentious for some reason and it wasn't at all. Would return for a date or with friends. read more

Disappointed sums up my experience. We had a couple of apps...no one cared much about waiting on us or we would've ordered dinner... I used to go to the Colleyville location a lot. I won't be back to this one. Will go to other great places on Main Street in Grapevine. read more

I came here for restaurant week and sat at the bar. First, let me point out the exceptional service from the two bartenders. They went above and beyond. I will come back here just for the service alone! The ambiance the very relaxed bit upscale. It's a place you want to stay and have a glass or two of wine. I ordered a titos martini extra dirty and omg it was so good. The bread that came with the meal was hot and the outside had a perfect crunch. The mac salad was good. It had a lot of the vinegrette dressing, which is fine by me (if you don't like a lot of dressing I suggest ordering it on the side). It also has bleu cheese crumbles...my biggest weakness! For the entree, I had the filet Oscar style with asparagus and baked potato. The filet was cooked perfectly and the crab with sauce on top was a perfect compliment. I ate the whole dang thing (along with the perfectly cooked asparagus)...thats how delicious it was. I'm not a big baked potato fan but it was still good. I also had their by the class merlot. It complimented the entree very well. For dessert I had the key lime pie. It was tarte but yummy (I LOVE key lime pie). The whip cream on top offsets the tarteness. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience here and will be back! read more

Absolutely wonderful. One of the top places I have been in Texas. From the real cajun Gumbo to my grouper with a topping of Etufe over rice. My wife had the hanger steak which was like butter . Topped of with a great slice of dark and white chocolate mousse cake and Spanish Coffee with a little extra kick ...you all did awesome! Great Chilean wine - awesome service by the owner's grandson...you couldn't beat this place! read more

Food is excellent. Servers very nice and helpful, cheery. Had the salmon excellent. Place was clean and followed covid rules

I am not sure how this restaurant has 4.5 stars. I went here with my wife for a sneak away lunch. I arrived at 11:30 and was seated immediately. The restaurant was far from busy at this time. It was 20 minutes before I had water in front of me and another 5 before our drinks arrived. We ordered the crab finger appetizers and then 10 minutes later ordered our food. At 12:30 our food arrived and we never got the appetizers. We ordered the blackened chicken vs the grilled chicken but asked it to be dressed with avocado and pico like the grilled chicken. Pretty simple right? I thought so, but my spinach instead of fries and my wife's vegetables instead of fries ended up being a plate with fries and an additional side charge for the veggies. Add to that, they upcharged us for the adds to a sandwich that was already on the menu! I was pretty frustrated, so I kindly asked the manager for a side conversation, expressed my concerns about the service, the check etc. His response was basically that they were too busy to be efficient, understaffed and he would refund the $4.00 for the avocado. I walked out feeling disrespected for voicing my concerns and with a serious distaste for Mac's on Main. There are too many great food options in that area of Grapevine. To the owner, you need to train your staff and management about true customer service or you won't survive. read more

We held our rehearsal dinner there last week. The management staff of Harvey, Mario and Alex had everything prepared from set up to the special menu. The food, from steaks to fish, were excellent and the service was A+! Our guests raved about the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Great evening at Mac's. Service was attentive and way above average..food was good as we have experienced, and you have to taste the blue crab claws in garlic butter appetizer! First timers, chose on a personal recommendation of a local. The server was excellent in his recommendations and the food delivered as he stated. The fried chicken was delicious. The key lime pie was a liitle less lime than expected but we chose that instead of the recommended cheesecake. Next time, cheesecake! read more

A terribly sad meal. We used to love Mac's, that is prior to them moving to a one room, sterile pancake house setting at Mac's on Main. This has to go down as the worst restaurant location move in history. From a nice atmosphere at the prior location to a this while also eliminating two of the most popular meals (beef kabob and fried shrimp) - we wanted to walk out immediately. Our waiter (who was good) kept us there by promising delight with the new "Hanger Steak". It was cold, under-cooked and borderline not edible. Stay away. Or, don't but after you go be sure to swallow your pride and come tell me I was right! read more

Gave this location another try today. Still no improvement. How are they able to keep this location open? Again no one in there when we walked in. Service was horrible. We barely received water refills and the food has no flavor now. The salad dressing has changed and not for the better. We had gumbo, sandwich, appetizer, and entree for 3 people. The bill was $60 gave the waitress $100 and she asked if we wanted any change. Really?!? Will not be returning. read more

I've never had such a terrible experience. It's a day later and I'm still upset. It was that bad. If you wanted to be treated like a second-class citizen in a place that isn't even remotely high end, then by all means, eat here. I've eaten here a couple times and the food is average at best. The last two times the wait staff was terribly rude with this last time being the worst. They over cooked a filet. When asked to fix it, they said they would only charge her for one--not both. You think? Then, they took so long, the other 5 of us were done eating and had our tabs paid before her medium rare filet was done. Unbelievable. The owner not only made her pay for it, he wouldn't let her take leftovers of any of her food. He literally came and snatched a to-go box away from her. The waiter was repeatedly rude and condescending to many of the guests at our table. We were left speechless many times after he walked away. I would understand if we had been rude and deserved the treatment, but we were nothing of the kind. I would be shocked if this place makes it another year, honestly. You can't treat people badly in this area and not expect them to go up the street for a meal. They will. We won't be back. read more

My husband and I ate here with my parenta on Tuesday. We were celebrating my birthday, and had a lovely time. Our food was delicious and the service was excellent. There was a table next to ua that was making alot of noise but that cant be helped. I give it 4 stars because of the fact that our server seemed to be rushing us. We came to be for a while and it seemed like our server kept wanting to puah us right along to the next course. I was nwver asked if i wanted a secons glass of wine, my husband had barely finished his plate when dessert which i hadnt ordered (but was free because of my birthday so no complaint key lime pie omg so good) came. I just wish we had been able to not feel so rushed. But i will return for sure. read more

The cold steel gray colored walls, sterile environment, austere furnishings and lack of warmth and lighting make for a chilly dining experience. You have to leave your coat on to stay warm. The decor is the antithesis of the previous location. Both of our favorite menu items were missing from the updated menu- beef kabobs and the fried shrimp. The explanation for these missing items was there wasn't room for another deep fryer... The meals were mediocre at best. I think Cotton Patch Cafe has them beat by a mile on their grilled chicken and steak. Curious how much the other people got paid to post the five star reviews. We must have gone to two different Macs? The meals were one small step better than starving in taste. read more

We used to go to Mac off 121 and Glade. We wanted to go to new Macs in Main to try it out. Parking is not easy, the bar has limited seating and most of the staff are young and clueless. We ordered drinks waited 15 minutes, we were ask to take our food order before our drinks were served. We waited 5 more minutes and walked out. It felt like it was opening week and no one had a clue. Macs on Main had been open 4 months so they have no excuse. We won't be back. So sad because we miss it. read more
