Salmon was delicious. Service was good. Endless salad has been a staple for years at Mac's. It was fresh and tasty as ever.

Ordered Charbroiled Chicken, it came with jicama salsa and quinoa. The salsa was great with a generous amount of jicama. The quinoa resembled dirty rice which I love. We also had the fried chicken breast which was prepared perfectly. As a side we had the Mac & Cheese which came in its own baking dish with bread crumbs, it was delicious. The food wins! Mac's chef is a hero - well done. The salmon for main, the poke appetizer, the starter salad were all simple and tasty. It was impressive. The food was so good it pointed that the rest of the place is not quite up to the food's standard. The tables and chairs are stock (and show it), and the service - though well intended - showed it's youth. Went in close to 3p to grab a bite to eat for a late lunch. No one was at the host stand, and three waiters appeared to be having their lunch at the bar (totally understandable as I used to be in the service industry.) My main issue is that none of them got up to help me so I just sat myself at the bar. The bartender showed up a few minutes later and was sweet, but looked like she was working the entire restaurant and kinda inundated with the three other tables she was working (including myself). After a few minutes, I get my order in. A few more minutes after that, I get approached my a manager stating that there was a dress code and offered me a shirt to wear. I'm wearing an athletic Lululemon tank (nothing completely atrocious) since it's nearly 100 degrees out. Like, what the hell?! Understandable if this was night time or something, but there aren't really any more customers in the restaurant, and NO ONE was at the door to tell me otherwise. Additionally, is this was that big of an issue, I wish the bartender would've told me. Giving this one star based on the service here. Call me petty, but if I'M gonna pay good money to eat, I'm not dressing up. Fuck off with that. read more

I visited during winter restaurant week last night to try the prime rib that they are supposedly known for. I ordered calamari, port wine and 2 kids meals along with it. The presentation was ok, nothing overwhelmingly amazing and my kids received their meals far before I was asked "are you ready for your second course?". I felt that my waiter was more attentive to my others guests than my table. My port wine glass came with sticky smudges on it and the pour appeared to be a mere 2 or 3 oz. I was disappointed by the taste of the food, service I received and experience overall. While the waiter was polite, I don't feel he actually cared for the service he provided. The manager was nice as well yet when I commented on the prime rib as chewy and the texture being weird, he only offered to have it cooked a bit more, citing "I don't think that will fix the texture"...instead of offering another dish completely. My salad was the best thing I ate while dining. I will not return to the establishment. read more

We finally decided to try Mac's this past Sunday to meet friends after a long time apart. We were hanging out at a winery and thought about eating at Harvest Hall but after seeing it like a food court I thought about a sit down would be more appropriate. That's when we remembered about Mac's. Had a cocktail at the bar then sat for dinner. Everything we saw on the menu looked great. The place looked clean and classy. I decided on the wagyu burger. Ordered it medium. It came out well done. I'm not one to turn back food if it's still edible. It was but it wasn't what I ordered. I don't like to waste food so I ate it. I didn't want a free meal out of it. The waiter and manager came to the table to apologize and offered another entree but I declined because again, I hate wasted food. They did give me a free dessert which was supposed to be compt but it wasn't so I made it awkward again by pointing that out and fix my tab. Lol. So my post isn't about complaining just a disappointment. First time bad experience doesn't mean I won't try it again. Maybe just not the burger. Small multiple issues made it not a cool dining experience unfortunately. I know restaurants don't get it right all the time but the type of service you get when things go wrong sometimes speaks louder than anything else. read more

The food is wonderful! We've been going here since it opened along with the one in Arlington. Unfortunately, their attitude and ability for curbside is horrible. My husband and I visited for Restaurant week. I definitely recommend reservations and get there early. There is limited close parking. The food was amazing. We had the cheese platter, summer salad with fresh peaches, my husband had the Filet Oscar and I had the sea bass. Both were cooked perfectly. Very attentive wait staff and nice ambience. Restaurant week is the way to go for a great menu and prices $39.00 each for 3 courses, salad, entree and dessert with $10.00 extra for the cheese plate which is plenty for two people to share. Service was friendly and efficient. atmosphere was relaxed and quietly sophisticated. The 'all you can eat' family style house salad was cold, fresh, and light! A perfect starter. The seafood gumbo was inedible. Very fishy flavor overpowered the dish and the grit of the seasonings sat on top of the mix as though it were just made and hadn't cooked into the dish. The mains were a flavorful but a bit of a disappointment. I expected more of the prime rib. The prime rib did not come with au juis, Had to be sent back because it was too rare. But In fairness it was very tender and good flavor. It just didn't have any bark, pop of flavor or seasoning and looked like it was cooked sous vide vs roasted. I like to see my roasted meat with a bit of crust and variation of 'doneness'. They don't serve non-alcohol beer or sweet tea, but have a good wine list. I'll give Mac's another try. read more

We came here for a Christmas family get-together the week before Christmas. We were excited to see our family and to try out the new restaurant in town. It was not a good idea. The service and food are a joke. It took our waitress ten minutes to get our drinks (not alcohol, but literally water and iced tea). It was a Sunday afternoon, and there was one other table occupied and a couple at the bar, in addition to our eight person party. Yet our drinks took TEN MINUTES. Once our food arrived, we were not given drink refills until we asked for them. We had empty glasses for a while. Our waitress came to take our orders and five of us ordered a side salad to be served prior to the meal. The waitress failed to tell us that there is not a side salad option, and we were all served ginormous, meal-sized salads that could have fed 2-3 each as a side salad. Had we known this, we would have split the salads. Also, there is no bread. When we asked about this, we were told to order an appetizer, but there is not a bread appetizer, so this seemed very odd and a huge oversight. On to the food: the salad was actually the highlight of the meal because it was very good! Five of us ordered the filet, cooked medium-rare, and two of the guys ordered ribeyes steaks (medium and medium-rare), plus a burger. The steaks were cooked horribly. Mine was very much well-done, and the others ranged from extremely rare to well-done. You could literally tell when each steak was put on the grill because of the varying arrays of doneness. Yet somehow, no one actually got a steak correctly cooked to medium-rare. The mashed potatoes were good. The mushrooms and macaroni and cheese are BEYOND salty and practically inedible. Also, the macaroni and cheese has some type of potato chip/cheeto garnish. I don't want crunchy pasta, thanks. When we were finished, we had to flag down our waitress to get our check. Flag her down in a completely empty restaurant. We ended up spending just under $300 for half-eaten plates of food and delicious salads with nonexistent service. We will not be back. read more

Second time here in a month foods we've gone hoping it was an off night the foods descent but the waitstaff is way off. Noone smiles? Didn't know what cocktail sauce is? Ketchup and horseradish thats complicated huh?. Damm I could make it in 15 seconds and ran it back out but was she said she was totally reliant on cookstaff and made apologies for and had 5 min conversation about it. U aware of what the goal is what it takes and no focus. Gone for long periods of time for no apparent reason. Looked like Abbott and Costello (who are they right?) 5 pm Saturday and not busy so that wasn't it. Whole restraunt in out of sync. Ie lack of training is apparent. Noone running the place. Asked for my 84 year old parents meal to be split and was told they charged $8?? Hell thats as much as an entree. They work at making sure you don't want to come back. Noone e engages with you. Asked for take home container and the take home left overs food was too big for the container nothing else left to say. And we just found out they don't have a large container that the bone of the ribeye fits? Its only the signature dish! Management doesn't shore up the young and inexperienced waitstaff and walks by and doesn't speak. Not sure what business they think they are in? We had reservations on this busy Saturday evening and were quickly seated at the appointed hour. So far, so good. Drink orders were taken and we settled in to look over the menu. While it is not the priciest restaurant in the area, it is decidedly on the upscale side of local dining. My fried chicken entree with a baked potato was just under $14 with another almost $4 house salad added in. Beef entrees run up to well over $40. Mac's salad is really good as is the sour dough bread. Chicken was well prepared and tasty. Others enjoyed their chicken fried steak and prime rib entrees. What I wish is that the wait staff wasn't in such a hurray to whisk away your plates, even when you are still chewing or others are eating. When we pay higher than chain restaurant prices, we shouldn't feel as if they are anxious for us to leave. The food is good. I would like a chance to sit back and enjoy a pleasant meal. read more

Fresh bread was awesome. Mac n cheese very bland. Burrata cheese appetizer needed more balsamic vinegar and was served with unripe pear. Went for a casual dinner. Atmosphere is nice but could probably use a nice facelift to make it a little more upscale to match their menu. Ordered the gumbo to start which was very tasty and had some heat and then the prime rib as my entree. Fresh warm bread was served which went well with the gumboWhen the salad was served we asked for fresh pepper which I was very surprised that they did not have only had the pepper in the shakers on the table. After waiting for 15 minutes without being acknowledged by several servers who passed our table multiple times, a couple was seated behind us and quickly addressed and served. We walked out. I've had so many people tell me that I need to try this place out. I can say that I finally did. I had the prime rib and the wife had the fish of the day and both were excellent. I met up with a friend at Mac's on Main for dinner before a movie screening at AMC Grapevine Mills. This was my first time at Mac's, and when I walked in I was impressed. They have a really nice bar, so I posted up there and chilled while nursing a beer as I waited for my friend to show. This would be a good date night spot I thought. Anyway, once she showed, we moved to a booth. I ordered Southern Fried Chicken and Steak Fries. My new friend: Fresh Rainbow Trout. The food came out really fast, and it was piping hot -- both the chicken and the fries. The chicken was crispy, tender and flavorful. My friend also enjoyed her entree. The staffers were friendly and professional. I'm looking forward to meeting her again, I mean, -- 'here again' -- for dinner or even just a few drinks. If I was giving Mac's on Main a true star review it'd be a solid 3 1/2 stars. Overall I'd say it was a good meal with a few minor issues. I received the wrong drink but sucked it up and drank it because I wasn't going to let it go to waste. My son received a raw pork chop ehh not good. Got over charged for something as well. All minor issues in my book. Anyway, our other items were pretty good such as the NY strip and the filet. I truly appreciate the fact that they have grass fed and finished steak. You can't find that anywhere around that I know of. Eating organic, grass fed options are important to me especially while eating out. read more

I love, love, love their salad and have been unsuccessfully trying to duplicate it at home for years. The bread is good too-warm and crispy. Everything else, with one exception, is just ok. I'm a critical foodie so I admit it is hard to please me! The entree I've loved is their steak pepperonata but it was taken off the menu when they moved from Colleyville to Grapevine. As a result I've only been back twice, but was eating there very often. read more

We came to Mac's on Main because we've driven past many times and were curious to try. To celebrate a birthday, our party of 8 was seated right away. The front staff of 3 were cold as ice and left us wondering if we should even stay. We did. The waiter was kind and I think he was new, but he took care of us and answered all our questions. Splitting the check 3 ways was a breeze. I ordered the halibut, which was amazing, hubby thoroughly enjoyed the bone-in prime rib, and our kids loved their fried chicken, though they wished it was a bigger portion. It was not from the kids menu. The seating was spacious, restrooms were clean, and we were very happy with the food quality. Met up with friends a couple of weeks ago, and Mac's was the place. What a charming and wonderful restaurant. You must try the scallop appetizer, it is really delicious. I had redfish for the main course, and they didn't disappoint. It was grilled perfectly. My dining partners had the grilled chicken, enough to take home. Another had the ribeye sandwich , and they are still talking about it. The other guest had a steak Oscar, if I recall that, and they were very pleased. We all have driven by this place countless times and we have never stopped by until now. I was thinking that it has to be good since it's stayed open for so long right? I started reading the reviews and looking at the menu when we sat down and it looked like most were hit or miss. Some comments about service but heard that the feed was pretty good. I agree, the food was pretty good to okay level. Nothing was bad. I had the pork chops with veggies. The pork chop was cooked well, a little heavy on the black pepper, and still pretty juicy. The veggies were a miss. Not sure if they microwaved them in a bag, but dry and no seasoning. The wife had the prime rib sandwich. Pretty happy with that. The bread was nice and soft and chewy, not there least bit crunchy and hard (which worked great). The prime rib was good portioned and cooked well. It wasn't full of strings of fat that you can't eat as I have had with other beef sandwiches at other places. Really the only thing I missed was a horseradish sauce or something to give it that "prime rib" bite. The service was fine. Not the best and the food took a long time to come out but it was a larger group of us, so I image that played into it as well. read more
