We were exploring Payson and found this spot and decided to pop in for lunch. The outdoor patio is spacious and the weather was amazing! We started with some wings, the server did say it would take about 20 minutes.. felt like 15 minutes to be honest. Not bad at all! The customer service was good overall!! The lunches took quite a while though... two burgers and we waited a while. However, they were delicious!!Overall, this is a cute "mom and pop" place. Great iced tea, good options for kids (except the mac and cheese is Kraft, and therefore my children won't touch it). For apps - love the salted edamame and cheese curds. Mains - skip the steaks just get a burger or a wrap. The crispy chicken cheddar is great. Burgers are all decent. Don't go on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Feels like their "B team" works those days. Everyone working here is great. Megan was wonderful. The Cowboy Melt was delicious and the fries are excellent. Nice patio (heaters are out of propane currently - hope they refill soon) but it's nice they have that option. Dog friendly as well (water bowls too!). Feb 22, 2022 I went again up to Payson with my friend Jen, to eat at Mackey's Grill. I ordered the Patty Melt with Potato Salad. I generally Love Patty Melts. This one was decent but needed more seasoning. The Potato Salad was decent, but I've had way better. We did find out it isn't homemade but their Coleslaw is. I should have ordered the Coleslaw! No folks that isn't a Beer in the pic, I had a Bottled Vanilla Creme Soda, which they bring you a frosted mug to drink it out of. Was very good! I ordered a Slice of their Carrot Cake to go (a favorite), Jen ordered 2. I would have loved some Zucchini or Onion Rings but $11.50 is too pricey for an Appetizer, that cost more then my Burger n side. When Jen got her food the Fries looked so good I ordered a side of those too with ranch. Jen had an Orange Creme Soda and the special which was a Taco Burger, which she said both were great! Also we had a Great Waitress named Jaeden, she is Cute and Attentive...Great Service!!! read more

Mackey's Appetizer with Fried Zucchini, Deep Fried Mushrooms and Curly Onion Strings. Deep fried mushrooms were good, probably the best of the 3 especially after dipping in ranch dressing. Duke Burger sauteed mushrooms, onions, bacon, cheddar, mayo, lettuce and tomatoes was very tasty but sloppy. Started eating by hand, finished eating with fork. Pretty good size menu with large selection of different items to choose from. Located on the right side of the theaters in a shopping plaza so plenty of parking. Good variety of burgers. I tried the 21 dollar shrimp with baked potatoes and side salad which was just ok some lettuce wilted and not fresh. I picked it off. Blue cheese dressing was great with chunks They forgot to put the corn bread on the plate so I had to ask for it. God Bless Macky's - we have come here so many times, literally every time we visit or hike in Payson. It is totally unassuming, and yet totally charming. From drinks to little bites and big meals to homemade desserts, they have something for everyone here - we even brought a picky vegan gluten-free individual here who found no fault in the entire dining experience...and neither can we! Macky's is a bit like a Rock of Gibraltar in Payson and has survived some tough times (namely the pandemic), but I hope they can continue to roll with the punches and be around for a long time. Jaxon was our server, very friendly and personable, didn't feel like we HAD to make a decision even after the giving us time to peruse the menu. Great local spot to grab some lunch in Payson! We were coming back from camping at the Mogollon Rim and needed a restaurant with a patio for our pup. Surprisingly, not many yummy places in Payson have patios and/or are dog-friendly! Macky's saved the day and was delightful! Their patio was nice and shady and the menu was just what we were craving. We started with fried pickles that were to die for. The portion was huge and the batter was perfectly crispy! Their ranch is Hailey-approved. :) For lunch, I got their buffalo chicken salad and it was a dream. Great service but horrible food :( I don't know if maybe it's because of the time we went which was at 4:40 in the afternoon and it wasn't that busy. But the food was so bad that it taste like food you would get at a carnival maybe. I got the chicken tenders and they were so burnt and breaded that there was no chicken. And then they gave me one more because I was supposed to have three and it was like perfect so I'm not sure what was going on. The burgers are like slider sizes not big at all. And we order the mac & cheese for our son and you could tell it was kraft mac & cheese which I guess is OK but it was not hot at all. I don't know really disappointed because the reviews show something different but our waitress who I think her name is Bee was awesome and so sweet. And there was a hair. Amazing! Went yesterday when visiting Payson. Brought our pup Lula Belle and sat in the patio. Perfect weather and they provide water and dog dishes for your furry friend. On our way to our hotel we looked in Yelp and found Macky's Grill. This restaurant is cute, clean, with social distancing maintained. They are opened until 9pm. The lunch menu offered a very nice selections of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and more. Even conscious of people trying to lose weight. JC was our waitress she was very nice and helpful. She gave us information about things to do while we were in Payson. The restaurant has a large outside patio that was filled today. Our food was delicious and Macky's Grill doesn't skimp of portions.
