The food was tasty as always, for me the fried cod is a special treat! It's so hard for me to find fried fish not beer breaded!! I made a mistake when I ordered, when I mentioned it she quickly took the plate away, and brought me a new plate! We always enjoy our time at Macky's. The music is always at a great level, and the overall decor and ambience is quite nice! I strongly recommend this place for ur fun night out!

I can't remember the last time I've had someone step outside to explain the menu and sold me to be invited inside. I've been waiting to come here for a while, but I personally have a prejudice against any Eastside place that offers dim sum (and Viet food) vs Seattle's ID. Although prices are a bit higher per dish, the portions were adequate and hit the spot for a craving. The har gow, sticky fried rice and taro pork dumpling were the best IMO. Luckily they had the full menu available for a weekday (holiday - July 4th) too. Service was friendly and inviting, with a touch of a classic dim sum experience (aunty walking around trying to sell dishes to tables).

We arrived a little bit close to closing and we had originally wanted to dine outside but there seems to be some construction going on. As we entered, the restaurant was gorgeous with soft piano covers of different classic songs. They had a beautiful fish tank in the corner of the restaurant. All tables had a soy sauce container, chili oil container, and sugar. We were greeted by a male waiter who directed us to our table with menus. He brought us waters and gave us ample time to look over the extensive menu. We decided to get the dinner for two as it came with dim sum which was I mainly wanted and we also got their hot tea, broccoli beef, Szechuan seafood, pork fried rice, and a large egg flower soup. The hot tea was very comforting and the perfect accompaniment with the food coming. We received our soup first and the waiter was kind enough to scoop out our portions which I thought was hospitable. The egg drop soup was seasoned well but I love spicy chili oil in my egg drop soup for that extra kick. We received our dim sum next and it was piping out, so be careful cause I burned my mouth a lot but it was so worth it. The dim sum was huge and full of flavor. We then received our entrees and it looked so delicious. My boyfriend was raving about the beef being some of the tender beefs he has ever had in his life and I'm inclined to agree. It just melts in your mouth! I liked the flavors of my dish but the vegetables were pretty tough and it was making my teeth sore. The choices of seafood options were tasty but it was hard to enjoy the vegetables which some of them I had to leave leftovers of. The fried rice was delicious too, the wok hei taste was very present and the BBQ pork was excellent. The service was attentive and they checked in on us to take plates away, to see if we needed anything else, or if we needed refills.

Had a craving for Hong Kong style crispy chow mein. Unfortunately, I haven't found any really good Cantonese Restaurants on the Eastside yet. Very slim pickings. Didn't want to drive into Seattle today just for noodles, so we decided to go to a local Chinese restaurant in Issaquah. We chose Mackeys. Luckily we found parking and there wasn't any wait time for a table. We ordered the Seafood crispy chow mein and it satisfied my craving. The seafood & baby Shanghai bok Choy was fresh and tasty. Tried to order the taro puffs, but they were sold out. So we ordered a dim sum Sparerib dish. Service was good

Macky's Dim Sum in Issaquah was a belated birthday meetup for two family groups, one from Shoreline and the other from Puyallup (2/11/23). I've never been before and clearly looked like a well loved, relocated family run restaurant in the downtown core. Free two hour shared parking lot is located behind the restaurant. We had made reservations, but the others were delayed due to a hit and run on I-405. Thankfully no one was injured, but were running late waiting for the WSP to file a police report, then file an insurance claim. We were seated, given the usual water, tea, and menus. But then pretty much were ignored for the first half hour. Finally when we approached by another wait person, we explained the circumstances. We would have been willing to get the ordering going upon being first seated, but as I said, we were totally ignored - that knocked off a half star. The interior had a separate bar area where the counter were full of takeout orders. The main dining room had various table configurations and well appointed pleasant decor including art work, faux fireplace, and an aquarium. There were a number of large groups seated onsite, but most were two and four tops. No challenge if one was a walk-in as there were at least three available tables during this Saturday midday visit. Our party of four ordered solely off of the dim sum menu, however, note there are no dim sum carts. Once that got placed, we received our orders rather swiftly and piping hot. This was fantastic as we were all famished and ready to eat. The wait person was trying to do more upsells with additional vegetable choices beyond the eggplant which was disregarded. We were a focused group ready to dig in. What was ordered: *Baked BBQ Turnover ($5.75) - pretty much devoured by The Homie *Shrimp Stuffed Eggplant ($5.75) - generously packed, tasty *Siomai (3 orders at $5.75 each) - decent, but prefer the ones at Bamboo Village *Shrimp Balls ($5.75) - plump, sweet and satisfying *Fried Sticky Rice (2 orders at $7.50 each) - that was deemed amazing! *Deep Fried Cod Fillets ($8.50) - fresh cuts with a nice light batter *Steamed Shanghai Soup Dumplings ($8) - stick with Din Tai Fung or Dough Zone. These were chewy and no soup, minus a half star *1/4 Roasted Duck ($12) - also absolutely amazing! *Egg Custard Tarts ($5.75) - tasty, thicker shortbread like crust *Red Bean Sesame Seed Balls ($5.75) - skip these, prefer the ones at Bamboo Village We had hearty appetites, but managed to have tiny leftovers to split between our two groups. It was nice to be able to catch up, eat leisurely, and didn't feel rushed which I greatly appreciated. Got refills on water, but not hot tea. Service was unobtrusive once we dug in to our dim sum afternoon meal. Macky's Dim Sum is a decent find in Issaquah, a city which has quite the dining scene with a wide selection of available restaurants to select from. I still prefer spots in Seattle, Edmonds, and Bellevue for dim sum. But this is a solid choice where you will leave full and satisfied.

Ooo I was passing through Issaquah on my way to an event & saw this dim sum spot while driving. On our way back we had some extra time and stopped in. When I tell you this is a honey hole for dim sum I'm not lying. The service was so nice, the restaurant was clean & the prices were unbeatable! I loved how the staff was eating family style together. It made my heart warm to see that. All of the servings were very generous and the flavor was perfectly matched. I can't wait to go back!

Ask the Community - Macky's Dim Sum

Do they have dim sum on weekdays or just weekends Sat and Sun?

You can actually order from the menu ANYTIME!! Dim sum carts are there for weekend lunch. But if you make it after it ends, you can still order them. Smaller menu. But still there.

    Do they serve alcohol drink?

They have a full bar (2/11/23)

Does Macky's Dim Sum have outdoor dining available in their new location?

Yes, just outside their front door. Limited seatings.

Is dim sum available all day? I see they have a regular menu and a dim sum menu?

Yes, but no longer the from the dim sum carts , you'll need to order them from the menu just like regular items.

Which is the correct address? Issaquah or Sunset? Thanks.

    It's in Issaquah on Sunset.

Will they take a take out order?

Yes they do. I have gotten takeout from Macky's many times in the past.

Why did Macky's close? Went there today and they are gone! There is nothing inside!

They moved to a new location several months back. They are on Sunset/ Front Street across from the shell

My parents and I stopped here for lunch yesterday, and found the place a little empty. However,…read moreafter we placed our orders, the space gradually filled with customers which gave us some comfort. The service here was quick, the ambiance casual, and the food is very satisfying! The roast duck was very tender, and the rice and bok choy well cooked and seasoned. The Singapore noodles had a stronger curry flavor than I was used to, and was good. The true surprise was the salted fish chicken with eggplant. I've never had a dish like this before, and the fish smell was a little pungent. However, the taste wasn't fishy at all and had a great umami flavor. The eggplant was also tender and cooked beautifully. This is the type of food that is very comforting and makes me want to eat more even though I'm full! I wish the portions were bigger considering its price point. Of the three dishes, I can only find myself justifying the eggplant to be worth its price because it is so unique. The Singapore noodles and roast duck I believe I can find for a better value elsewhere. Though I won't be a regular customer, this was a nice find with good food!

I read some positive feedback about Famous Kitchen in the past. While I was in Issaquah, I decided…read moreto dine there. The place looked new-ish in a small plaza; several other restaurants are within sight. I yelp-checked every single one of them. All of them hover at about 3.5 stars, plus/minus some. Hmmm. Anyway, I kept the original plans and entered. They have a Chinese BBQ area that was being cleaned for the night, which makes sense. It was nearly 7pm on a Sunday. The menu had mostly ordinary Cantonese varieties with several less common ingredients like fermented bean curd, salted fish, and bitter melon. Always a good sign. When I fished recommendations from the server requesting good 'uncommon' dishes (and I spoke in Cantonese), he still pointed to the 'normal' dish. Fine, I stayed along those lines, too. The food is alright. The prices are at Eastside level. This place is worthy if you don't want to drive out of Issaquah (to Bellevue or CID). If I wasn't in Issaquah, I would not purposely drive here. The Food: Curry Beef Brisket Rice 咖喱牛腩饭, $17.99 - 3.5 Stars Tender-enough beef brisket and daikon cover a massive amount of rice. The curry is thick and pooled just right. The flavor of the curry met expectations. I wish Chinese restaurants understand it is okay to give an appropriate amount of rice instead of a massive amount to avoid waste. House Special Fried Noodle 招牌炒面/粉, $20.99 - 3.5 Stars This noodle dish surprised me that it is closer to 'soy sauce king chow mein' 豉油皇炒麵 that happens to have additional ingredients. Few restaurants serve it this way. Not a good or bad thing per se. The ingredients tend to heavily absorb the soy sauce, and the flavor profile becomes a bit too uniform. On the contrary, some may find this method more flavorful. Salt &Pepper Chicken Wings 脆皮炸鸡翅, $18.99 - 4 Stars These wings ended up being my favorite dish. They have an excellent crispy on the outside, juicy inside. Good flavor, too. They are closer to 3.5 Stars. Nothing in the overall experience stood out to round up the overall rating.

Service : nonexistent Food: 9/10…read morePrice: standard but not worth for the horrible service. We spent about $600 for a party of 9. Would rather go to Diamond Bay, Tasty Szechuan, Royal Kitchen, (can see why they're busy and packed on a holiday weekday night and Sun Sui Wah is not) Went here for dinner for my grandma's 89th birthday with a party of 9 at 7pm. We ordered dishes typical of a 10 course meal including crab, Peking duck, live fish, rice, noodles, veggies, seafood, etc. The food was really good and didn't take too long to come out. Everything tasted good and we were all enjoying the family meal together and that's why I am giving 1 star because we will not be coming back. The service was absolutely horrible; ruined our dinner and wasted an extra 1-1.5hr of everybody's time. There was only 2 other tables in the restaurant and the servers started having dinner together at a table instead of working. I would understand if we were high maintenance customers or were giving them attitude but we did not. My cousin and I have both been FOH and BOH staff so we try to be understanding and patient when it comes to service especially coming from a Chinese background too. However, we asked for water several times, they never refilled anyone's water or the tea even once at this point it was end of dinner and 5 out of the 6 of us had completely empty glasses for about 30 minutes. We finally got water when we signaled to the Busser and he went to tell the same server again. We finished eating and decided to pay first so my grandma wouldn't try to pay. We tipped 18% off the bill since we were a large party and I wasn't about to punish all the workers for some water but what happened after made everything much worse. We asked for togo boxes and the server lady just dropped them off stared at our table and left. I was already wondering why she was seeming to be upset but seems like we were interrupting their dinner because 3 or 4 chinese servers were eating together at the table at the front when my sister's boyfriend went to pay. (That's why we didnt have water) I don't mind the workers needing to eat because I have been in their shoes before but please provide some service if you still have customers inside the restaurant waving at you. We wanted to leave just as much as they probabaly wanted to close at 10 pm(it was around 830ish now) We noticed that the cake they had been holding for us in the fridge was just sitting at another table in the restaurant. They saw us go grab it ourselves. We packed all the leftovers and started putting our dirty dishes and stuff onto the table because the workers were doing nothing. They saw that we were done but didn't want to stop their 8:30pm dinner I guess. Finally we asked them to bring us plates and clear the table. I have never had to ask the Chinese servers at any restaurant to clear the table before dessert, normally they do it for you, especially after you just tipped them almost $100 lol. The Chinese servers sent the bus boy to clear our table and guess what returned to their dinner! We again asked them for plates for the cake. It took so long to the point my sister missed picking up her prescription at 9pm. Not sure if the dim sum service is better but I'm pretty sure those 5 star service reviews are from the chinese servers' friends and/or family. Or the servers are taught to do nothing besides get the order and drop it off. Unfortunaly we will not be spending money at this establishment again because of the service and will be telling our family and friends in Issaquah and Bellevue to choose better places for sit down family meals. Hope others enjoy their meals because the food is still good

ROYAL KITCHEN @ BELLEVUE (crossroads)…read more Parking is pretty tight here, especially on the weekends when it gets super busy. Luckily, we were able to find a spot right out front, so I'd recommend slowly circling around and keeping an eye out for people leaving. I found this spot through Yelp and had been really craving good Chinese food, so I was super excited to finally try it. My family and I came without a reservation and were seated immediately, even though the restaurant was very busy. This place is definitely known for larger parties, there were lots of families and extended families dining together, which really gave it a classic family-style vibe. You order a bunch of dishes and share a little bit of everything, which I love. The staff were really friendly and greeted us right away with complimentary tea. Fun fact: in the mornings, tea is sometimes an extra charge, but in the evening it's free. We ordered a few dishes, including the honey walnut shrimp (which is my go-to order at any Asian restaurant), salt and pepper squid, house special vermicelli noodles, and Chinese broccoli. The vermicelli was a clear noodle dish loaded with different proteins like BBQ pork, squid, and shrimp. Everything had great flavor, but my absolute favorite was definitely the honey walnut shrimp. It was perfectly crispy and delicious. My only complaint is the portion size for the price, it was about $21 for roughly 10 pieces of shrimp, which felt pretty expensive. Overall, the portions were on the smaller side for what you're paying. Toward the end of the meal, they treated us to a complimentary papaya soup, which was a light, fruit-based dessert soup and a really nice way to finish. Our total came out to about $80, so it's definitely on the pricier side for Chinese food. That said, the food was delicious, the service was great, and if you're in the Bellevue area, I'd still recommend stopping by.

CHECK your bill here!!!!!!!!…read more We took our daughters from out of town for Sunday dim sum. Longtime family tradition!! And while we have often gone to the CID In Seattle, for many years and almost exclusively in recent years we have gone here and the previous business at the same location. I highly recommend this place and in my opinion the staff is usually always fantastic and they bring the food fast!! Today the service and food was fantastic and ordered so much it almost didn't fit on a 4 top table. We love leftover dim sum! But at the end of the meal they brought me the completed card with a total at the bottom. Didn't look beyond the total before tip and just gave the nice (very young) hostess my card. A server brought back just the two credit card slips and the price was seemingly $20 more than what was presented to me on the service card!?? I politely asked to see the bill again and then a longhgggh wait...... Then a heavily altered card was brought back showing the new total. I was not happy suddenly and asked why it was altered from the first one etc and a big argument from the server began that I didn't proliferate but she kept on and on and could not explain why all the changes by pen and saying that she was honest etc. insisting we "do the math" over and over Now we may have ordered that much food, but I know for a fact that the bill was clean written without alterations and $20 less than the corrected one. But still she couldn't give me a valid explanation for the changes and new total. In my opinion the high school age hostess made a mistake adding up before presenting the total to me and someone else edited it before running my card. If they had just admitted that I would not have been so disappointed. I don't believe that the staff here are dishonest and understand about mistakes but they did not handle it very diplomatically and it was a scene I didn't want to make. But I know that this was not the total presented to me for payment! Take a pic of your service card before sending the credit card to be run!!! It absolutely ruined our family outing and everyone was quiet in the car ride home. Not cool!!

A tiny place with big portion and authentic food…read more We came here on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was almost fully packed. I had my all time favorite dish at a Hong Kong café cuisine, gon caau ngau ho (乾炒牛河), aka beef chow fun, along with a childhood favorite drink, iced Horlicks. I liked how everything moved at a quick pace here and yet the staff were still friendly. The best part was that no one stopped by to ask how the food was while your mouth was full, because they already knew the food was good. The beef chow fun was just as good as the ones back home. It was savory and full of wok hei (iykyk). The bean sprouts were added at just the right time, so they were still a slightly crunchy. The sliced beef was tender too. If you like adding extra spice, be sure to try the crunchy chili sauce on the table. It was awesome, fragrant, spicy, and full of flavor. Just be careful not to choke on it, I did, and it wasn't fun. I hadn't had Horlicks in twenty years, and the first sip brought back so many memories. Be sure to stir it well and maybe wait until the ice melts a little, otherwise it may be slightly too sweet. My partner is a vegetarian. He looked through the entire menu and said there weren't many things he could order (listen, people, choose your future SO accordingly if you like sharing big meat dishes). He ended up ordering the curry vegetable rice and added a fried egg. He said the curry was delicious. I tried a bite of it and agreed. I think there may have some coconut milk in it because it was rich and creamy. The rice was a little too dry to my liking. Parking in ID can be difficult on the weekends, so try to come on weekdays if possible! Help out…read moreall the restaurants in this area! Quick service, free hot tea in plastic cups (a classic), and chili oil at the table. Ask for white pepper btw! Depending on your taste, I like adding white pepper to my fried rice, chow fun, and soup. Wonton soup: the wontons are huge and filled with pork and shrimp. The soup however was kind of sour? Not sure what they added in, but the flavor of the broth was not my favorite. There's so much good wonton soup in the area! I wish this broth was better and more savory. Beef chow fun: pretty tasty and the beef was pretty tender. There was no work hei, so didn't have that distinct flavor Half chicken bone in: this was surprisingly our favorite dish! Steamed chicken with a ginger oil. The ginger made this dish and the chicken was very tender. The chicken comes cold so eat it with some rice and it's the perfect combo
