If you ever order carryout CHECK YOUR FOOD. Yesterday, I bought a simple chicken quesadilla and my chicken was not cooked. So today i looked at the rest of the quesadilla and it was not cooked thoroughly. I called up there and the first server was so nonchalant even after explaining i got sick, she said "okay... so you want a manager?". The manager gets on the phone and cares less than she does. I believe his name was Matt. He proceeds to tell me that it is impossible for my chicken to be undercooked because of the way they cook it. I tell him, " sir i ate your food and was sick the rest of the night!" His response is "well i find that hard to believe send me proof to our email." I guess my words weren't enough and me getting sick was far fetched. I didn't even ask for my money back, just wanted to make him aware. First time to MRP (12 days after it opened), bf and i went for a late lunch. the wait for a table was short, maybe 5 minutes at the most. The interior is nicely done. The decor isn't super busy like your average bar/grill/pub places. Our server was extremely nice. We had poutine fries for an appetizer and the fries were fantastic. Bf ordered the street taco trio. each taco had its own sauces for each. it's not a large meal but pretty good portion for one person. he said he would definitely order it again. i had the smokehouse burger. it was a very large burger. it had real good taste and it was juicy. it had pulled pork on it also. ended up getting burger and pulled pork juice on me so either wear a bib or not be as messy as me. we also ordered the kentucky toast for dessert. the deep fried pound cake reminded us of elephant ears. the sea salt was a bit much for me. the bf liked it but i'm not a big fan of the sea salt and caramel. they also have local beers and 3 different sizes for draft beers. definitely plenty of different things to try on the menu so we will for sure be back. read more

Second time at this location. I was honestly impressed by the customer service for those who waited at peak hours. They passed around pizza for those who were anticipating a wait and that's what made me want to share this review. From the tacos, wings, pizza, to the sliders of our first visit we were not disappointed. I only rate 4 stars because everyone has the opportunity to improve. read more

I don't know about any of the negative reviews but we have been frequenting MR for several months now and have had nothing but excellent service and good food. It's fair to say with the shortage of help (2021/pandemic) and the training of new hires can make the food and service somewhat spotty at times, but they are very good about remedying any issues. Don't let one bad experience make you sour on this place. read more

My husband and I have given MacKenzie River two tries now, and I think we are done. The food is okay at best but with a high price tag. There also doesn't seem the be any sort of theme or cohesion to the food. My husband calls their menu "an enigma". Both times our service has been mediocre, at best. The Pickerington location disappointed me twice on their hamburgers. It was burned and dry. The burger was so bad It got remade. We ordered it to go because it took so long to be remade. When I open it at home it was burned. My daughters pizza also had to be remade. And she commented that it tasted like nothing. They said we did not have to pay for the meal. Terrible place. Rude management. I didn't like the food and sent it back. The manager (Rob Pankow) told me "you should have ordered something you liked" even though I have never been here before and said he was calling the police because I didnt want to pay for something I didnt like or eat. This is the best restaurant in Pickerington. The bar stools are really comfortable. The bartenders are great and the selection of whiskey is awesome. The food is delicious. I got the meatloaf wrapped in bacon, mashed potatoes with vegetables and it was delicious. My husband got the ole prospector burger. It was excellent. It was stuffed with cheese and bacon. Was excited to try the New Restaurant in town. Sat outside on the patio that was nice. Inside seemed nice but the music was a little loud for dinning. Service was good as our server was attentive and the food arrived in a timely manner. I had the full Greek Salad with added chicken. The spring mix was a tad old but the worst part was the chicken. The chicken was cold lacking any flavor and appeared to be plucked from a bowl of water. Throwing it on the grill and adding a little seasoning would go a long way to making it edible. The rest of the salad was ok and just didn't have that fresh taste and didn't remind me of any Greek salad I've ever had in the past. I thought the extra cup of feta was nice. Not a great 1st experience but I'm guessing salads aren't their thing. I will give them another chance and Next time I'll try a burger and a draft . I really hope my next experience is better because this location is so close to my home. read more

Disappointed on a Thursday night. Arrived at 5:15 not seated til 5:55 with tables empty where we said we would like to sit. Was told problem in the kitchen! Had to order app quickly to get 1/2 price and my wife got glass of wine, but I just got water feeling rushed. Waitress was attentive and friendly. App took an unusually long time to come out as was our entrees. Food was good, as this is one reason we come here. We had invited new customers to dine with us and this experience was not quite what I had expected. Seems like instead of getting better the restaurant is struggling to get better. read more

I'm glad this place took over for Max and Erma's. Overall the staff is friendly and the place is clean. However, the food leaves much to be desired. They market themselves as a pizza pub and while the beer selection is great the pizza tastes like it's frozen dough. The burgers on the other hand are delectable. read more

This post is a few days late due to the holiday. We were there on Sunday night 12/29 and had checked in and was waiting for a table. The manager came out to tell us they were closing due to a hot water problem (boiler) and did a good job of explaining however the group I was with thought maybe the manager could have given us a discount for our next visit. We frequently visit this location and LOVE the food and staff. Was just disappointed that they were having to close. read more

MacKenzie River takes the top spot of all the recently opened restaurants in Pickerington! Great atmosphere, the Servers are enthusiastic, and the Managers are very visible. We had two meals there in one day for our first time there: Burgers for lunch, and a small pizza for the return dinner trip. Both items knocked it out of the ballpark!
