My primary complaint was low water pressure. I also wondered if our well was deep enough and in general our equipment condition. After a quick look at our set up the guy says it would be a pretty simple fix- replace pressure tank and put in a bigger pump. Might be an issue going from 110 to 220, but would work that out. OK, and he sends an estimate for around $3500. The following week a couple of fine gentlemen show up and tear into things. Not much for explanation and they finish in the time estimated. My issue is that they replaced a 1/2 horse pump with a 1/2 pump, thus there was little improvement to our pressure. They did put in a larger pressure tank and apparently there was no need to change the existing electrical. Overall there was not very clear communication and my primary complaint was not fixed to my satisfaction or even followed up on. Now I also understand profit margins, but be careful there, their mark-up is near 100%. I looked and looked at pricing both retail and wholesale and Mack's mark-up is just a consumer ripoff even on the smallest of parts. Prior to my disability and unfortunately, now hospice care, I was a plumber and have relative good knowledge of the work performed above ground and costs. My personal recommendation- look around and if you choose Mack, pin them down on there pricing and watch there work to assure you are getting what you asked for. Oh, and the "Free Estimate" advertised... I had to ask several times for mine. They wanted to charge me for a service call, to come out and look at my well and provide me a estimate. Yep, watch out for deceptive practices. read more
