I stumbled across this place looking for another pasta place. I liked how they had "make your own" pasta option. I got an Aperol Spritz & pasta with pomodoro sauce. Both of them together cost me around 12 euros which honestly is a steal. The food was good and came out quick, the drink was perfect, and the place had a good vibe. For someone who is a pasta snob, I was not disappointed at all. Definitely recommend!

Tasty, quick pasta spot in Barcelona! I love how customizable everything is here since you get to specify the type of pasta, sauce, meat, and other ingredients you want. I got tagliatelle pomodoro with mushrooms and spinach and it was really tasty! Great portions for a decent price too

Macchina is a good little pasta restaurant. You pick your sauce, choose your ingredients, then your pasta type. I ordered pomodoro sauce with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, shrimp with rigatoni noodles. My wife ordered Tagliatella pasta with spinach, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms in Panna sauce. What the cook didn't put in both orders was mushrooms. I checked the tag with our server and mushrooms were on it. My did wife get shrimp in her order that she didn't order. He apologized and asked to adjust our order But i said it's ok. Both cof our orders were very good. The pomodoro sauce was slightly tangy and flavorful. My wife's Panna sauce was creamy parmesan cheese. All the ingredients were fresh. Only the missing was mushrooms (-1). Pasta was was cooked perfectly al dante. I would have given Macchina a rating of 5/5 if our orders were correctly made. If you're in the Gracia district, I would recommend giving Macchina.

This place is in such a cute area, awesome little shops and bakeries surrounding it. What sparked our interest was the homemade pasta! It is very modern inside and you can see the pasta being made before your eyes! The employees were super helpful, even with the language barrier. You pick all of the things separate that you want: pasta, sauce and toppings. Everything was so fresh and delicious. We ordered the bread with pesto with a appetizer and two different dishes, ravioli with pesto and fettuccine with shrimp and four cheese. Wow! So so good!

Quality and taste of the food are good. The only thing is the customer services (cashier) was lost in translation when I order a local brews beer I meant a glass of barrel of beer so she served me a can beer!!

After several days of eating traditional often over priced Spanish food around Barcelona, and not really being impressed by much, we were so excited to try this little Italian shop. This spot produces excellent fresh pasta for an awesome price, we also saw that they deliver on uber eats! It's a really great concept where you choose your pasta, sauce and any add-ons and they bring it out. The pasta is made fresh in house and you are given a really cute spoon to tell the waiter where the order should go. They also had more traditional Spanish offerings like empanadas that were really nice and had great flavor. It's in a really cute area, the Gothic Quarter, that we probably would not have adventured to if it was not for finding this restaurant. After a week of spending a ton of money on food that let us down this inexpensive high quality find was definitely a saving grace for our Spanish vacation.

I asked the server his favorite beers and he recommended these plus a glass of red wine.

This place is the best, the bomb, legit, awesome. Pasta is made fresh in house, you can watch it coming out of the "Machina" as you wait or eat. We've had the red, italian, and mushroom pastas, all sublime, their salads are delicious and worth the trip on their own. The bruschetta were a delight and the tiramisu was fantastic. People putting out fresh and delicious food each and every day.

WOW! This place is amazing. Pasta bar- pick your favorite kind of pasta, sauce and the ingredients. It is made right in front of you and made so fresh. Plus it tastes so good!!! You would also think that since its pasta it takes a long time, but it was so fast and they only have one cook!! Decide amount of pasta too, it always filled me up and I couldn't even finish it! read more

Sometimes you're in a country for long enough that your family is tired of the local cuisine and just wants what you'd eat at home - a big ass plate of pasta with red sauce. So get to this place. The menu is a perfect mix and match of pastas, sauces, and toppings. Everyone can get exactly what they like. Great salads too. We're not talking super premium Italian cuisine here, but for filling, wholesome, delicious family food it's perfect and the price is right. read more

Great spot for pasta! It is a chain so make sure to find your closest Macchina while you're in Barcelona. I had the pasta with fettuccine and pesto was spectacular. Highly recommend making this a part of your Barcelona trip. read more

This place is far is the best realization of "made right now" pasta place. I love the decor, the cosiness of the place, the stuff is helpful and sweet. The pasta is rich in sauce and delicious. Menu del Dia is a great deal for 8.9 Euros: salad or soup, choice of select pastas with choice of select sauce and a drink. Kids pasta for 3.9 Euros. I had the spaghetti with bolognese sauce. Friendly service. read more

Beautiful location in Gracia. The restaurant makes your choice of pasta in front of you. The house wine was delicious. They were extremely friendly to my non spanish speaking family and I. Definitely a must if you are needing a smaller, cosy place for dinner. read more

Whilst randomly walking around Gracia, we came across this cute little gem and saw the fresh pasta being made behind the counter. Having not had pasta in Europe yet (I don't know how it was possible going on 5+ days in Paris and Barcelona), we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did. It's the same concept as a Chipotle in the United States, but with Italian. You pick a pasta, a sauce, and the fixin's. It was the perfect place for a lunch/mid-afternoon lite meal with a glass of wine. It was also very inexpensive. read more

Great place i love it i was in barcelona for 3 days went on yelp see what was good this cought my eye me and my family went best experience ever as soon as we walked in everyone greeted us made us feel welcomed we ordered got our food the food was extremely delicious im from california so ive tried alot of pasta i love pasta and this is the best pasta ive ever had me and my family loved it so much that we went the 3 days straight it was that good customer service is great the cooks are great the place was super clean and the price is affordable really recommend this place for pasta lovers :) read more

The very best that it can possibly get for under or at 10 euros for fresh pasta. I couldn't get pasta this good at this price in Italy, and I've tried. The ingredients are fresh, the cooks are talented, the pasta is perfect al dente. Darling, run, don't walk to Macchina. Any location! I recommend the carbonara, pesto rosso, spinach tagliatelle, ravioli, spaghetti,Italian dips as an appetizer, and really just about everything on the menu. Place can get crowded around dinner time, but it speedy quick during lunch. The atmosphere and staff are really top notch, and even during busy nights you can find a table once you've ordered your food in Catalan, Castellano, or English (they have the menu in all three languages). You can also get pasta for takeaway if you don't feel like hanging around. read more

It's like Chipotle for pasta. High quality ingredients and very tasty food. Walk in, order your sauce, other ingredients, pasta, salad and any apps. Recommend the Italian dipping sauce app, bolognese and the mushroom white sauces, on-site made tagliatoni noodles, Catalonia sausage, and garden salad. Good for lunch and easy, quick dinner. read more

Be clear, though I was skeptical, Macchina really uses uncooked FRESH pasta, boiled to order. Fresh ingredients and pleasant, trendy atmosphere. A must-visit place when you have a pasta craving. I use Yelp a lot but this is my first review. Time and time again I and those with me benefit from the feedback of others so need to return the benefit 1st evening in Barcelona and didn't know food options for dinner. Yelp didn't let us down. Machianna's was splendid food and nice atmosphere. We were a party of 8 and we had terrific service in spite of how busy they were. Lasagna was delicious! Salads spectacular! Noodle pasta's were very nice and the sauces, both pesto and red sauces were superb! What a jewel of a place! Although we didn't know you order direct to the kitchen and grab a table afterwards, it was still a terrific experience with a great atmosphere. Noise level was good even though busy! read more

My husband and I walked in here on a whim after drinks at Elephanta (also recommend) and MAN are we glad we did! There was a line even though it was very late, but so well worth it! My husband just got plain tomato sauce on Tagliatelle and swears it was the best pasta of his life. We also got gnocchi, which was amazing as well! Loved loved this place. read more

Fellow Americans - this is a great place to take your kids after several days of forcing them to eat local cuisine. Imagine a Chipotle, but instead they make pasta dishes with fresh ingredients. Our kids devoured their meals and my wife and I enjoyed ours as well. It's located on a nice pedestrian area with ice cream and wine shops for after dinner desserts. read more

A real family pleaser. I love this whole make your own pasta bowl concept. We had to try this place twice to refine our choices and get the ideal dish for each of us, but once again everyone was happy. You can get good ideas by watching them sauté the dishes of the people in front of you. Pick your pastor, pick your add-ons, pick your sauce. It's delivered to your table very quickly. The kids enjoyed the lemonade with a hint of mint. The panna cotta served in a small mason jar with fruit compote was also excellent. My wife said the lasagna was good too. read more

IF you're looking for italian food- definitely go here! Macchina is so delicious, fresh, fast, affordable and friendly. I got the pesto with fresh made noodles with added mushrooms. My dad got the rigatoni with pomodoro sauce and added onions and mozzarella. Both were so delicious. The sauces were light and extremely tasty. The service was super. We got a classic salad to start and ended with a latte, which was also delicious. I would recommend 100% and I'll be back! read more

Very rude and poor service from waitress Mariona. We came in and asked if we should order or sit down and one waitress told us to sit wherever we'd like. While deciding what to order, Mariona came storming in telling us we have to get up from the table and order our food because we're taking other customer's seats. She then preceded to point to us to her co workers and talk about us as if we could not see her. Food was good though but very disappointed in the service. read more

Outstanding for what it is. This is a Barcelona version of a fast casual establishment. In this case it specializes in pasta, including a choose your own adventure menu with various sauces and fresh pasta options. We particularly enjoyed the Pesto with onions sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms. The potato soup of the day was also wonderful. Plus a reasonably priced bottle of red wine to wash it all down. Not luxurious but great value for the money. read more

Walking around Gracia and found this wonderful place! They have menus in English which was obviously really helpful. The staff were very kind and the options for what to have on the pasta seemed endless. It was also a really great price, some places a few streets over were charging €22 for a single dish whereas we got two pasta dishes, a salad (big enough that we could share) a water and a glass of red wine for around €24!! Such a great deal. And it was beyond delicious, and I'm pretty picky about pasta because I love it so much. Would def recommend and come back. read more

small, simple, but delicious. you're definitely guaranteed good pasta if you go there, the place is small but really nice inside. easy to get there in public transportation. simply great, i totally recommend to stop and try it out. they have menus in spanish & english. i'd say the portion is just right and really fills you up. the pic i attached is the carbonara pasta with chicken, with a lemonade. read more

This cute restaurant was a few blocks from our air b&b when visiting Barcelona. The food here was sooo good. I stuffed myself as much as I could and took the rest to go. I built a pasta dish with spinach, mushroom, chicken and garlic sauce. My friends and I shared the mozzarella, arugula, tomato appetizer-delicious-this is a must try. The cheese was so fresh. We all shared a side of spinach raviolis which were great. We did order dessert however we were too stuffed so we took it to go. I would recommend stopping in to eat or ordering to go. Great fresh food. The service was awesome and everyone was super friendly. The restaurant was very clean. read more

I would highly recommend trying this place out. It is a very cool concept and they do it well. Everything is very fresh and fast. History

Established in 2013.

Back during the days of the industrial revolution, pasta was the fuel for the human assembly line, which changed the world. Later on, in New York City, an Italian immigrant invented a machine for Italian housewives to be able to make their very own fresh pasta. Almost 100 years later, one of Angelo Vitantonio's prototypes hits Gracia, Barcelona in a mission to democratize fresh pasta. Inspired by the Italian pioneers of the time, the Macchina restaurant produces its own fresh pasta daily to keep fueling people who are working to change the world. I made reservations via email in advance prior to my trip. They responded quickly and seamed happy to take them, as they do book up. It was totally worth it, as the Raviolo with mushroom, truffle, Parmesan, cream, and sausage was one of the best things we ate on our entire trip. Don't miss out on it. Papas Bravas - nicely served with two dipping sauces, one a little spicy, and the other a garlic sauce. Meatballs with Mozzarella and Tomato Sauce. This was served almost as a soup, with bread to dip in the sauce, or in our case we balanced the meatballs, cheese, and sauce on it. Cacio e Pepe - nice and cheesy served with fresh pappardelle. I liked the thicker noodles to soak up the tasty sauce. I noticed the table fighting over sharing this one, which is always a good sign. Carbonara - definitely made correctly here with egg yolk, if you are fan of classic carbonara, you'll like theirs. Served with thick fresh spaghetti noodles. Raviolo with Mushroom, Truffle, Parmesan, cream, and sausage. You can put this dish right next to anything you will eat in Spain (including those having Michelin stars) and it will hold its own. It's that good. Please do not miss this dish. If I'm ever back in Barcelona, I will return for this dish and to try other things on the menu.

This place is incredible! It's line out the door and laid back ambience totally drew us in. I was amazed with the staffs ability to handle and control large groups, while also being helpful and kind.
