Hey munchkins how's it going? I'm currently abroad in Barcelona with some friends. After a full day of walking around, enjoying the fresh air, and conquering the fiercest tower the Sagrada Familia has to offer its time to refuel. We found this spot in the L'Esquerra de l'Eixample neighborhood. Getting a table was quite easy. We start off with the bruscetta which was great. One thing I've noticed about Barcelona is that the tomatoes in food are quite flavorful. They've even to unexpectedly be the star of the show in a number of dishes. We get the margarita pizza which was good. The bread is slightly different from American for neither breader or worse. It tastes almost like sourdough but not quite. One of my friends got the spaghetti with bacon. They said it tastes like U.S bacon. Unfortunately they were too busy scarfing it down in post walk hunger to leave a comment. He did also say that the pasta here is equivalent to higher class pasta in SF at a more reasonable price. Sadly my 1 on the AP Spanish exam means I can't pronounce the pasta my friend got but he also said it was good. Until next time, many thanks for reading. read more

Le Romane has a beautiful, bustling venue, and it unquestionably deserves its rating as one of Barcelona's premier restaurants. The atmosphere pulls off the difficult trick of conveying a feeling of bustling activity with one of intimacy at the same time :-) When we asked our server for recommendations, we decided to go with both of them - we ordered pizza and pasta. The pizza dough was a thing of beauty, providing the basis for some truly amazing flavors to the pie we shared. The pasta was nothing short of amazing - it was right up there with the best pastas we enjoyed during our time in Italy. Service was efficient and friendly; our waiter was attentive without ever overstaying his welcome. One of the best meals I've ever had. Food was 5 out of 5. Pepe pasta was perfect in every way. We also had bruschetta, meat board, cheese board and fruit salad. Too much food for 2 people. Ambiance was just as others expressed, hip and comfortable at the same time. I could bring friends for a night out or family for dinner and it all works seamlessly here. The service was my favorite part 10 stars out of 5. They really care, pay attention to detail and it shows (big time). I was dining with my wife and we ordered an extraordinary amount of 1st courses. Instead of cramming everything onto the table, they moved us to a 4 top so that we could spread out. Delicious Italian restaurant that offers Roman style pizza. They have so many pizza flavors it's hard to choose from! They have an offer that you can get 2 or 4 flavors of pizza in one night pizza to share. We opted to get the 4 flavors and each flavor came with four mini slices. I would recommend making reservations because it fills up quickly. The restaurant is big and caters to large groups as well. Just wow! The food was fantastic. We had a reservation, which is a must if you wish not to wait for dining. There is inside and outside seating, which both are very good. We sat outside and were instructed to scan the QRC to see the menu. Since I had previously looked at the menu, I knew what we wanted to order. We started with a bottle of white wine and a Bruchette stuffed with fresh, made cream cheese and artichoke. It was very good and perfect for sharing. We also ordered a pizza for 2, which could easily feed 3-4 people. I wish we had ordered for 1 person and then ordered an additional entree because the portions are so big and the food is so good. The pizza toppings we ordered were: Caprese-Tomatoes, mozzarella and basil; Funghi-Salsiccia And Mozzarella, Mushrooms, homemade sausage and mozzarella; Melanzane Alla Parmigiana-Eggplant, tomato, parmesan and mozzarella, and Guanciale, Funghi Famigliola and Stracchino-Mozzarella, guanciale, stracchino and chiodini mushrooms. Any place in the world is lucky to have a restaurant like Le Romane. The food here is excellent and the service is one of a kind. We weren't looking for Italian while in Spain, but we definitely wanted to take a break from Tapas, and stumbled upon Le Romane during our stay in the Eixample neighborhood. Italian cooking... pasta, pizza, risotto...you name it, is very second nature to us and we're very critical of anyone who's serving Italian cuisine. Le Romane specializes in dishes from Rome, and they do an amazing job. So amazing that we ordered food from here on three separate occasions during our Barcelona stay. We had our fair share of Michelin star meals/highly rated tapas joints throughout our trip, and Le Romane stands out as one of our best (if not the best) dining experiences in all of Spain. Yep, I said it. Shout-out to David & Tony for providing great service and just being overall great people. The atmosphere is laid-back, not touristy, and full of people who know good food. We had asked at our hotel where can we get some Italian food and they had recommended Le Romane. The restaurant has a great ambiance tables are a little close to each other and small at least for us that we always like to order a good amount and have a couple bottles of wine. Other than that everything was amazing. We started off with a bottle amarone and the pizza with 4 different flavors. The dough was fluffy and crispy and every bite was packed with flavor. Then we moved on to the carbonara with a bottle of Borolo. Carbonara is one of our favorite pasta and we try it everywhere we go and Le Romane did not disappoint with theirs. We were exhausted after traveling through the night and then powering through the day and starving when we grabbed a cute outside table. Our waiter was amazing! We sat outside under sparkling lights and an umbrella. They waited on us right away. Both spoke English perfectly. We had the best pizza, the crust and toppings were delicious. Highly recommend the braised beef ravioli. It had a sauce that I'm going to dream about. We ended with the fried apple and carmel dessert that came out warm and perfect.
