I didn't mind it still because the ambiance was great. It was enjoyable watching them make pasta and all. You are a little more forgiving. My hotel was literally a block away! I took their carbonara togo. Worst dish ever. It was solid by the time I got back: so much cream ( not egg) and way too much jamon instead of pancetta. Just plain inedible block of solid noodles. Not even pasta. Just crazy creamy mess. Ended up dumping it: I would have loved a bite or two. But it was dump after one bite. Noodles got crunchy: crispy and soggy all at once. Industrial pasta joint- where you call the shots. This place is a cool concept. It's like those salad places or sandwich places where you pick the carb (pasta) then the toppings (they've got gobs of 'em!) and then a sauce, and they cook it up right in front of you, give it a good toss for dramatic effect, and serve it up in a bowl right to you piping hot! It's like fast food almost, they get the dish out there pretty fast! They offer a long list of different types of pastas, a hearty variety of toppings, and a handful of different sauces. The toppings were pretty numerous- olives, meats, veggies, spinach, peppers, chicken, garlic, onions, tomatoes... they also had the pre-chosen dishes of combos that they'd recommend so you don't get something weird if you don't know what you're doing. I got that one of the spicy chorrizo dishes, which was flavorful and hot with a gooey cheese! This with a local beer- delicious! I was a bit disappointed that when I got the lasagna that it wasn't made right there like the other pasta dishes, but I shoulda realized that the lasagna is gonna be pre-made and warmed over when served up. You can't rush a slab of lasagna, cheese and tomatoes. I had gotten that one to go. This place also offers beers- local and imports. The decor of the place is all kinds of random industrial crap on the walls and in the restroom it sorta looks like a Soviet gulag's prison bathroom. A bit intimidating for a pasta place. The whole restaurant looks like it has history that dates way back before this modern pasta bar. Sometimes it's nice to not get Tapas, and this is a nice alternative. The prices were fair, and there was indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was nice and quick with getting the food out. The to-go bag was nicely apportioned with silverware and napkins. read more

Meat Sauce w/ Mushrooms (1/5): good, but my friend got food poisoning later. Lemonade (4/5): very tart, not too sweet. Overall it's good for the price and fills you up. Great fast service alternative to expensive restaurants or fast food. Pick your pasta, pick your sauce, and they make it fresh for you. The staff was friendly and helpful. They had an interesting payment method, either credit card or cash. But if you use cash, you actually deposit the money into a machine and it disspurses your change. I haven't seen this set up before, but I guess it kept the employee's hands off the cash and simplified the transactions. The food was fresh and tasty. After we sat down, we filled out a little sheet where you pick your pasta, toppings, etc. and paid at the cash register. For a family of 5, it was only about €36. But shrimp was really small. $10 bottle of wine also is a plus. I like spicy food so we asked for crushed hot peppers but they brought actually dried hot peppers. The atmosphere is different than their Gracia outlet as this is a bigger space and serves more of a young adult crowd. The workers here appear to be a bit more rushed than those at Gracia and the cashiers at times are not very patient with tourists--this is a very centrally located spot where there is heavy tourist traffic. The tables do turn around fairly quickly and there is usually a line out the door. It would be helpful if there were 2 cashiers instead of the usual one I have experienced. The food, however, is very good. The pasta, gnocchi, vegetables and sauces have been on point each time whether eating in or taking out.
