We stumbled upon Kserol looking for a quaint place for tapas and drinks. And this place is perfect. Our server was amazing. He read the entire chalkboard menu to us since we don't speak fluent Spanish. He recommended things and was patient with us. We ordered the peppers, cheese plate and prosciutto plate. Plenty of food for just 2 of us. The food was delightful and the drinks kept coming. The environment felt very local, but very accepting of us tourists. We stayed til close and again our server was not rushing us and honestly still let us order a round of drinks pretty close to closing time. Will definitely return when visiting BCN! read more

Nice cafe to grab a quick bite. Seating available inside and outside. Very friendly staff. We liked the beef cheek, jamon croquettes and tomato bread a lot. Excellent lunch spot. The host brought over their board with three sets of two options and explained we pick one of each and then either beer or wine for a fixed cost. I had a salad, a savory vegetable-topped puff pastry, and a breaded pork cutlet that was stuffed with ham and cheese that was out of this world good. Everything came out together and complemented one another nicely. Diverse set of flavors and dishes that come together to form a memorably great lunch for our time in Barcelona! read more

Traveling with four friends and stopped here for lunch. What a hidden gem. The food was absolutely fantastic.. you can taste how fresh everything was and very thoughtfully put together. Served by the owners themselves..2 wonderful gentlemen that even though they were busy were kind enough to spend some time talking to us. A very open and vibrant environment, but cozy at the same time. You have to visit this place!!! read more

Really cute little restaurant that was a 5 minute walk from our hotel. We were looking for a quick bite to eat but didn't know that we were required to order a combo. The menu lists prices next to each item but the waiter stated that we had to order the combo which includes water, your choice of wine or beer, 3 tapa plates and a dessert which is honestly not bad for a grand total of 12 euros. The waiter was very nice and tried to translate each menu item for us; some items were a little lost in translation so we weren't sure what they were but ended up ordering them anyway. We ended up getting ajoblanca, hummus, mozzarella and tomato salad, gnocchi and pate. The food was decent and well-prepared. As for dessert, we got the cheesecake and brownie. They were both okay, not amazing but not outrageously bad either. Overall, the service was very good, the price is unbeatable but the food was only so-so. read more

Totally awesome! Great genuinely friendly service! For a 9pm dinner, wonderfully varied set of menu options and what we ordered was excellent: scallops with strawberry and asparagus, octopus and beef cheeks in a gravy that was out of this world! Plus mixed to order sangria that was fantastic! Small but in a "real" and quaint way. Did not feel I was in a sea of other tourists but also felt totally welcome. TL;DR Excellent food - stunningly good presentation and preperation. We ordered patatas bravas, beef cheeks, house salad, King prawns, and house made sangria. We arrived without a reservation around 7:35 and told staff we had 9pm concert at Palau Musica - in other words, weren't going to hang out all evening and occupy the table. Senor Viscarolasaga gave us a table that was reserved for later arriving guests and we had the best meal I've had in a long time. Kserol represents the best that Barcelona offers in terms of incredible food. The beef cheeks were tender and flavorful. The salad was fresh/crisp, with mozarella balls, advocado, tomato and vinagrette dressing. WIthout any stress, we enjoyed the meal and were on our way by 8:35 - just enough time to walk to Palua Musica. And all of this delivered with a sense of humor and spirit that is rare. We even shared the jug of sangria with the neigboring table (who had the cutest 14mo baby - German married to Hungarian but working in Barcelona). read more

Went here on our first day and of course we were swayed by the amazing yelp reviews. Sad to report that my husband and I were totally disappointed! Turned out those amazing pictures and reviews applied to the late night menu (I think!). The restaurant has a fixed tapas menu during the day and the waiter convinced us to order 3 "small" plates (p.s. they weren't small). I ordered the endive salad, gnocchi and salmon with "mango and green curry". The endive salad was anything but crunchy; it appeared disgustingly wilted and the blue cheese dressing came straight out of a bottle. The gnocchi is clearly from a box with processed cheese and the salmon killed me, literally! It was the fishiest, nastiest thing I have ever put in my mouth!! and by the way, the green curry and mango were totally non-existent! obviously I didn't bother to finish my meal. The wine from the so-called fixed menu.. bah, not worth it at all! Trust me you have had better! read more

A welcome oasis on the walk back to our hotel from Sagrada Familia. We were greeted warmly and the entire staff was forgiving of our limited Spanish. In fact, our waiter translated the entire menu for us. Lunch was an all inclusive selection of three tapas, a beer (or wine)and dessert. Everything was fresh and immaculately prepared. An impromptu lunch turned into a highlight of our visit to Barcelona. Highly recommended! read more

An all around great meal and experience. Not far from Sagrada Familia, my girlfriend found it on Yelp as we walked back toward Barri Gotic with our kids, 9 and 13. At about 6:30pm it wasn't crowded, the service was great and entertaining, and the tapas was varied and very well prepared. Something for all: nachos with guacamole and pico de gallo, squid with mushrooms, and beef cheeks slow cooked in red wine. Kids said best chocolate mousse ever. Highly recommended. read more
