We were visiting the city and found this restaurant conveniently close to where we were staying. It turned out to be a great find. The pizza and calzones were excellent, especially with a cold Peroni to wash everything down. The pepperoni had a little kick, but in a good way. Service was friendly and attentive. I did not try the pasta, so I cannot comment on it. One calzone came with feta instead of mozzarella, which was not my preference, so I would recommend requesting a substitution. We stopped here on our walk to the sagrada familia. We were starving!! We were seated right away. We shared one pizza and one pasta dish - both fantastic!! The pizza dough is perfectly chewy and loaded with the toppings - cheesy, saucy and slightly spicy. Great experience! We researched the reviews in Barcelona and saw over 5.6K reviews for this place and knew we had to try it... and it was everything everyone said it was, the best Italian dinners. We had the Tagliatelle a la bolognese and Spaghetti a la carbonara, both rich, heavy pasta with a taste from scratch. Service was fast and personable. We made a reservation at the other Don Kilo and was walked over to the sisterparis restaurant up the street. One of our tour guides suggested Don Kilo when asked where to get good pasta. We started with a pizza to start as an app and then moved onto the PASTA! I am still dreaming about the pesto and sausage/mushroom pasta served in a corazon. Loved the option to get the delicious gnocchi in a bread bowl (Yass!) We also got the seafood pasta on pizza dough. Service was helpful and tolerant of our touristy english. Simply a GEM on Carrer Girona in Barcelona!! We stopped in for a lunch after all day walking around Park Guell and the city. First off, even if the food was bad (it wasn't. It was YUMMY!!) I would have loved this place because of how we were treated! The place was packed on a Thursday and they still accommodated my friend and I with a smile! We ate inside and it was fun to watch the pizza oven being well used. There is also outside seating on the sidewalk with heaters. The food was delicious. Started with a pear, walnut salad and then shared a margerita pizza. The QUANTITY was huge and the QUALITY was perfection. It's such a rare find to be in a big crazy city such as Barcelona and still feel like you are in grandmas kitchen for lunch. And lemoncello served with our tab. How awesome is that?! Keep it up. We still talk about the spaghetti here and it's been a year since we have dined. The atmosphere is eclectic and cool. Casual, which makes it even more surprising that the food was excellent. I was expecting average Italian, not one of the best we have had. The ingredients are super fresh, you can see them cook your meal from your seat. Pretty decent Italian place. I had the pizza with ham and arugula. It needed about at least 10 more minutes as the dough was undercooked and the toppings basically all slide off as soon as I picked it up. The ingredients were pretty fresh so that was good. read more

I don't get the name but the pizza is awesome. It's super thin and not too crunchy. We had the proscuitto and mushrooms with some extra fresh garlic and it was delicious. Thought I hated crust (anti-carbs so I thought), but I gobbled it all up. So good! Lobster pasta was just MEH.. It was sweet and full of fresh tomatoes and half a lobster. Presentation and portion was great, but lacking in the flavor. The servers were REALLY nice. Water for my dog was given without asking, gotta love that. This place was GREAT! It's helpful to make a reservation, but we were able to get a table for 75 minutes ahead of the evening rush (in Spain they eat dinner later starting at 8pm and on, so we went around 7pm). Their pizzas are delicious and pasta is equally phenomenal. Friendly staff and even gave us a few limoncello shots at the end of our dinner on the house. I guess having some fantastic pizza in Austin (Via 313, Homeslice) you get spoiled. Don Kilo nothing to write home about. I won't complain that they don't slice their pizza but if you're going to include bacon on pizza it has to be cooked, not added uncooked as topping AFTER coming out of oven. Ambiance also lacking here. Waiters seemed more interested in looking at their phones and talking to each other than interacting with customer. I cannot recommend. read more

A few hours after arriving in Barcelona, we decided to try out this restaurant for dinner. It was busy and had a small indoor dining area, so we elected to sit outside. After waiting for 15 minutes with no waiter coming, we went in to ask to be moved inside. Thankfully a group of five was leaving at that moment and we were able to take their table. The menu had a good variety of options, but I went with a pizza after reading great reviews on TripAdvisor and Facebook. The food took quite a while to be brought out to our table, and the service was pretty poor. Our waiter repeatedly forgot to bring us things we asked for, and eventually, after asking twice for the dessert menu and never having gotten it, had to ask for the check and get dessert elsewhere. The interior was a bit cramped and they had a large screen playing music videos which was a bit distracting for a dinner. Despite these negative aspects, the food was really good. First time visiting Barcelona and didn't know where to go for our first night. We wanted someplace good but casual and this find was perfect! The atmosphere was quaint and adorable and the staff was very nice and patient with our lack of spanish. Everything we had was delicious.
