Seats are heavy cardboard and the staff is hustling. Best News, they are packed. The pizza production line is stacked with pizzas flying in and out of the oven. It is like a dance with, stretch the dough, add ingredients, duck as the pizza master spins it into the oven, 90 seconds, pull them out, finish and serve. Our selections were the Margherita and pepperoni with fennel pizzas. The pizzas arrived piping hot, firm crust, great chew on the crust and incredibly tasty. And then there are restaurants that are literally in renovated garages that balance its former industrial roots with rays of sunlight streaming into the room from the skylights. For such an original idea, it's funny how Parking Pizza is technically a chain in Barcelona -- this location, which I walked to after visiting the Sagrada Familia, is the second parking garage-turned-pizza place in town. (Speaking of, if lunch is the goal, try to stop by around 1:30-2 PM so it's less packed. I didn't have to wait to be seated. Note that the tables are also communal, so that's another reason to come during off hours.) Like its name suggests, Parking Pizza is more of a concept restaurant. But like, a concept restaurant that doesn't force it into your face in a pretentious way. Of course, once you walk in, the entire atmosphere feels effortlessly cool. Chairs? No, you'll be seated on cardboard stools that also function as storage for your coats and bags. Believe it or not, they're comfier than they look! Yes, this pizzeria skews trendy. And the cardboard box seats, where you can store your jacket/bag, etc...BRILLIANT. Would definitely recommend this place/pizza. However, I also highly recommend a place not far off, called Craft, which is a much smaller place with much less hype. There's PIZZA everywhere so have fun exploring. I came her at 8 pm at dinner time to eat alone and was immediately seated. The seating space is an open communal design. You can store your bags and coats in the chair as it opens up. The ambiance was lively, you can tell this is a place where locals and tourists both go to eat. Waitress was quick in getting my order. I ordered two things which was a lot for one person but, I wanted to try it. 1. Cacio e pepe with black truffle: the pasta was cooked to a nice al dente! Sauce was cheesy and creamy. I enjoyed this dish and would order again. 2. Black truffle pizza: this was good but I would not order it again as I felt there was another pizza that would have captured my heart. The egg in the center was vibrant but, it made the pizza kind of soggy to eat. The black truffle was really showing. Next time if I go, I would order the spicy sobrasada, the fellow next to me ordered it and it looked quite yummy. Overall, I would come back as the ambiance was great and it would be a good place to take friends. Italian food was good but, not the best Ive had. Mamma Mia! This pizza was hands down some of the best pizza ever! The place of very cool, looked like an old parking lot area between 2 building renovated to house this hidden pizza place. If you don't notice the small tiny words saying "Parking Pizza" you may walk up and down the street a couple times. The inside is very cool and the seats are little boxes that you put your belongings in. The tables are communal. I ordered the pizza with the burrata and it was delicious! The tomato sauce was fresh and light. The burrata also tasted very fresh & creamy. I also had the margherita which had some pesto that complimented all flavors. For dessert, tiramisu was ordered. Crust was right in between crispy and chewy (so we were both happy). Sauce was tangy and in the right amount. Overall nicely balanced.
