Incredibly difficult to decide, we chose a sampler of Opera Cake, Raspberry Napoleon, Lemon Tart, Almond Pistachio Passionfruit Mousse, Rustic Chocolate Cake, Berliner, and Pistachio Baklava. Everything was amazing. My husband loved the Lemon Tart--incredibly flavorful. My ultimate favorite of our sampler--the Rustic Chocolate Cake: chocolatey, moist, and lovely mousse; this cake is the best chocolate cake I have ever had. A very close second was the Pistachio Baklava--everything baklava should be: flaky, buttery, syrupy- also a top contender for the best baklava. What struck me the most was the hospitality. Miss Daniela made note that baklava should not be eaten cold; she took the time to warm up the baklava, and let us know that the Berliners are best eaten day off. We had no choice but to listen to the expert. The only drawback is that the bakery is only open two days during the week, but it can also be a blessing in disguise, as I would be lined up every day! The earlier you come the more likely you will get to eat the delicious pastries, but if you come past 11 AM you likely won't find much. Their croissants are always on the menu, but many of their pastries are seasonally available so you have to come back. I haven't tried their sandwiches yet, but those pastries are amazing. The staff here are so nice too! Super tolerant as my indecision took over my brain seeing so many pastries! I think not having anyone behind me helped with that - a rare slow moment - because once the door opened I waved the white flag, asked them to pick me 3 of their favorites and off I went. I ended up ordering a couple items for friends and the cinnamon roll was for me! And wow. Just wow. It was so soft, with a cinnamon deliciousness, and I thanked the stars that this was only available on Fridays and due to limited hours hard for me to get there because otherwise I'd be 20 lbs heavier by a month. It was amazingly good!! And the gentleman working here was so sweet and enthusiastic. I appreciated his warmth and recommendations. But I could not linger as this little bakery sure gets busy!

I'm glad to have discovered this new coffee shop in downtown Bellevue. We saw the A-frame sign that was posted on the sidewalk, which led the way. We walked in and were surprised by how spacious and massive the lobby area is of the office building that Himalayan Coffee is located in as they had a ton of seating, including sofas and chairs you could easily sink in. This will be a great spot to get away and hang out in from the office! The menu is straightforward with all the classic beverages and they do have some pastries and macarons for treats. I saw that they had white coffee, so ordered an iced americano of that - and it was fantastic! The barista told me that all of their coffee comes from Nepal and the white coffee has a kind of nutty taste to is, which I enjoyed. Plus, ya gotta love the caffeine level with this drink, for that extra jolt. I will definitely come back for the white coffee and the spacious ambiance.
