One of my favorite things about coming to the PNW is that you can trio and stumble into a coffee shop and it will almost certainly be an amazing find. It's like coffee is in their blood and DNA. This place is no different although it seems to be a step above the others in the area. The flavor of the beans are balanced just right. Not too acidic, not too burnt. really nice flavor. I'd say it's probably better to take your beverage to go, unless you like sitting in the reception of a tech firm. read more

Still the best Affogato in Bellevue in my opinion. The strong espresso with the creamy ice cream and some lady finger/waffle piece is just divine for a dessert. I didn't try anything else and just focused on the best from Dote. I know I sometimes dream about this. It is so.good. read more

Got the Americano which was pleasantly not bitter but still strong in taste and not acidic or burnt. The blood orange mocha tasted just like a chocolate orange but only slightly sweet. Great presence of orange taste without it tasting artificial or overwhelming. Great ambience for doing work given you go on a quiet mall day. But even on a holiday it wasn't very loud. There were also a handful of people doing work but not many seats. read more

Came by Dote when I had some time to burn and was passing by. I just ordered some basic stuff - Madagascar vanilla latte and chocolate croissant. Both were good as you'd expect. It was a bit expensive but that's normal for this area. Service was patient as I was ordering and did a good job of making the food and coffee fast so I was happy with that. The interior was nice and cozy and was a good place to stay a bit and work. There's plenty of seating around the area in the mall so you don't feel bad about staying a while, most people are just passing through anyways. read more

I stopped by Dote Coffee because it was conveniently close to my hotel, and I wanted to try some specialty coffee in the Bellevue area. I ordered the hot Madagascar vanilla latte and it was absolutely heavenly. Creamy, smooth, and full of rich vanilla flavor. I also appreciated that they offer it in a real cup, which made the experience feel more relaxed and elevated. On my second visit, I tried the blueberry scone and wow. The other Yelp reviewers were not exaggerating. It is not like a typical dry and dense scone. This one is lighter, flakier, and not overly buttery, which makes it such a perfect complement to my coffee. The sugar coating gives it a lightly toasted caramelized crunch, and the blueberries inside are plump and juicy, and taste real rather than artificial or overly sweet. It was sooo good that I immediately ordered a second one. If you are in Bellevue and want great coffee and a memorable pastry, Dote should be on your list. read more

I always check out the pastries when I walk by. This time, I saw they had a cocktail special that looked pretty and yummy. It was the Strawberry Zen. I ordered that, and of course, had to sit at their tables to enjoy it. It was pretty yummy. And I will be back because there is at least one other drink I would like to try. read more

This is the location in Lincoln Square South, across from Nordstrom Rack. We were in the building earlier in the day, thought to stop by and have a little breakfast. Line wasn't too long when we got there. Not much of a greeting as we got to order, but whatever, here's what we'll be ordering. We got a Chai, Iced Coffee and a Banana Bread Loaf. Pretty quick to crank out the drinks and food. There's some seating inside the place or you can sit in the communal area just outside it in the food court area of this part of the building. Overall, it was fine, not much to brag about, seems to be a popular spot, good to know there's a coffee spot here. read more

Good honey dark mocha with cute latte art. The matcha left much to be desired, would not recommend. Service was ok. Lots of seating but very open. Thought it was crazy the tip screen started automatically with a 30% tip. I would recommend trying their ganache drinks as it seems like it's their speciality. Oat milk is an extra dollar per drink. read more

I'm gonna say this so the people in the back hear me. Their people rock! It's such a chill vibe I just love grabbing a chair at the bar and chit chatting with some good coffee and great company (hey hubby!) My usual go to treat is either getting an affogato or a warmed up pecan brownie and if its been a rough week then its going to the chocolate stuffed croissant, also warmed up, just make sure you have lots of napkins hehe. read more

Overall: Dote Coffee Bar is a fairly standard coffee shop, nothing super stand out. Good for if you need something in a pinch, but there are better options elsewhere. Food: Ordered a honey dark mocha, it tasted regular. Didn't have any elements that stood out to me, was a very basic coffee. Service: I came early in the morning so there wasn't any wait. Since this place is located inside a mall, I can imagine the wait would be longer once the place gets busy. Ambiance: This is an open layout located inside a mall, probably not the best place to sit down and get work done. Plenty of seats for you to set your stuff down. read more

The interesting thing about this place is their use of ganache that they incorporate into their drinks. Interest was definitely piqued. I ordered their seasonal pistachio white chocolate ganache latte with oat milk. First impression, it had a rich taste and smooth texture. The pistachio flavored was more subtle than I anticipated but I didn't mind it because it allowed the espresso to come through more prominently. Added note, vit wasn't as sweet as I expected either. I would be curious to to try other drinks, especially their affogato as well as a few things from their food menu. Now the question, would I come back? The answer, yes I would. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but if I would go here if I was in the area. I could potentially see myself leaning in this direction opposed to other coffee shops in the area considering I still want to try more. The area is nice and quiet. I believe it's right off one of the link stops. The indoor seating is quite spacious with no shortage of seats. Seems like an upscale establishment. read more

When I visit a new coffee spot I order a latte. So I can taste if it's bitter or burnt. I am happy to report the coffee is good here! I don't eat sugar but the pastries look good. I did get a sausage egg muffin sandwich and it was just like a microwaved sandwich you would get from a roadside coffee stand (no offense to the roadside stands) but you know what I mean. So good for coffee, might be good for a pastry but not so much as a breakfast sandwich place. read more

Lazy Dote was a treasure when we first discovered it in 2021 when the baristas actually cared and were proud of what they created. Clearly, management has stopped caring: the current "baristas" are lazy and slow, with little to show for their efforts. We stopped going to Dote when we noticed the quality dramatically decreasing, but we will purchase the coffee beans for home. The latest incident was the worst. Imagine wanting to purchase coffee beans for holiday gifts-- on the day which they are supposed to received deliveries-- to find a low stock with little variety, then standing in line for 15 minutes, because there is only one person at the register, one person making the coffee, and one person pretending "to work." So-- why do I blame management? Management does the hiring and sets standards. Are they not scheduling people to come in a bit earlier to prep for the day, such as restocking coffee beans and other merchandise, especially during the holiday season? Sounds silly to have actual merchandise to purchase as gifts, I know. Are they hiring and tolerating employees who are lazy and ambivalent, all the while expecting customers to tip at 20 percent, 25 percent, or 30 percent? Not surprising as we do live with a generation of participation ribbons. Or is management too cheap to hire more people, blaming "short staffage" for the slow lines? I am pretty sure there are many former baristas who were terminated with no notice due to "store closures,"-- baristas who actually took pride in their work and competent to make good coffee (I'm talking about the now-shuttered Starbucks Reserve-- the epitome of incompetent management at the top). You will be more satisfied making the coffee at home. read more

Solid coffee spot in Bellevue Lincoln Square South (which also connects to Bellevue Square mall via 2 sky bridges) and the pastries are unique too - I like their green onion and potato scone! The service was pretty friendly, and I like their open-concept space, as they are part of the food hall. Come here for your caffeine fix. read more

I got the vanilla bean white mocha! It wasn't too sweet as you'd expect it to be and the coffee wasn't overwhelmingly dark to taste. Overall, a really good drink and would come back for it! You may find an issue with pricing... The service is quick in pace as it's usually bustling with people, so I didn't really get to interact as much besides asking the questions I needed. From the brief interaction though, it was friendly. It's located in the food court area, so it's busy in general and the seating can be limited at dote. You're better off finding somewhere else to sit to be honest. read more

Came back today and the coffee stays winning. They didn't have any vanilla syrup in stock so we'll have to come back and pick some up. My sister tried the ham and mushroom quiche and she said the egg is soft and the pastry is flaky and buttery crisp. My sister loved it. And a review for the Madagascar vanilla syrup since we've bought it twice already: I love how perfectly it goes in coffee at home, it's much more flavourful than the Starbucks vanilla syrup and a little goes a long way. read more

One of my favorite coffee shops in Bellevue. It's located inside right across from Nordstrom Rack second floor and there's the parking garage right underneath (free on weekends, free with validation on weekdays). The coffee quality is excellent and they have a nice selection of pastries as well! I've gotten their chocolate ganache croissant, brownie, chocolate mousse (all really nice and at a reasonable price), along with their savory breakfast sandwiches. They have a few tables within the Dote section and also plenty of other seatings in the general area. Dote has a nice ambiance and could be good for studying/work as well. Overall highly recommend if you're looking for coffee in the downtown Bellevue area! read more

Wow, this spot was incredibly disappointing. I've been a couple of times with clients, not by choice, and this most recent visit was the last straw. The coffee is good sometimes, but the service is consistently bad. They are clearly understaffed, and I understand why the employees look worn out. I watched someone come off a coffee rush and immediately be sent to clean the bathroom. As soon as they stepped away, a line formed and the rush started all over again. During my last visit, the head manager, Josephine, was there. When we walked in, orders were being yelled across an otherwise slow cafe, unnecessarily loud and uncomfortable. When we ordered, I asked for a matcha americano with seltzer. They immediately argued that they don't do that. I've ordered it at many places before, so I tried to explain, but I was cut off mid-sentence. Josephine responded in a slow, drawn-out tone while listing what they do have, then turned to my client and asked what they wanted, completely ignoring me. We are always polite, so I was taken aback. At first, I wondered if they assumed I didn't speak English, before considering that it might have been a microaggression. When they finally returned to me, they said, "So are you ready?" I said "may I do an iced matcha with water instead of milk" . They said nothing in response and simply gave us the total. When the drinks were ready, my client's was loudly called out, while mine was left on the counter without announcement. About ten minutes later, I saw it, since my back was turned. I went up to receive my drink. It was a matcha made with milk. I thanked them anyway. They looked at me, said nothing, and walked to the back. Later, my client mentioned that the cafe had a great staff over the summer, but people started leaving once Josephine began working there more often. Coincidentally, the staff had largely been brown, POC, and Vietnamese. Josephine had reportedly told customers they were fired for "drama." When my client asked a newer barista about the sudden departures, they were told that Josephine, and even the owner, are known racists, and that employees were fired for standing up to her. This didn't come as a shock, but it was deeply disappointing. The location is convenient for my Bellevue clients, but I won't be returning. Hopefully, a better place opens nearby. read more

We stopped by Dote on the way out of the mall for a pick-me-up. We were intrigued by the Turmeric Ginger Latte, and had to try it out. To be very frank, this had no business being as tasty as it was. When I think of turmeric and ginger, I would have never anticipated it being combined with white chocolate and made into a latte. For reference, we drink turmeric tea somewhat regularly so we are familiar with the overall fragrance and flavor profile. This was the perfect level of sweetness for us and we're glad we took the leap and tried something unique. Note: You can buy the ganache on its own, and they also sell truffles! read more

I know there's a coffee shop on every corner in Seattle, but Dote really stands out with its tasty coffee and one of my favorite roasts. The coffee here is so velvety with a nice mouth feel. What makes Dote special is that they make their syrups and chocolates from scratch. Some of the pastries are made in-house as well. And let's not forget their great selection of abrigados--so yummy! Decent coffee, underwhelming baked goods and sweets, and high prices - you'll likely only get something here if you need something quickly and don't want to look around for something else. Everything I've had here that was edible was not worth it. Particularly poor are the macrons which really come across store bought and frozen despite them charging scratch crafted prices for them. Places like Trophy down the street have treats that are several orders of magnitude better than what they have here for the same cost. read more

This is some fantastic fancy coffee. Loved their in house sauces and flavors they take coffee art seriously.

Located at south Lincoln by the food court, open space, not walled off. The barista was friendly and made a decent caramel latte. Even with heavy foot traffic, the noise level is pretty manageable, where you can have a decent conversation without much of interruption at one of their tables. We went on a Sunday afternoon and there was a line, but still had seats available. The shop is located in Lincoln square on the second floor across from Nordstrom Rack. It's not enclosed, but has seating available. There's a small food court in that area as well. The shop was busy, but the baristas still took time to answer questions we had about the drinks.
