They do not stand by their 14-day guarantee. I returned my 13" laptop after four days (it was too big for my hands). They would not allow me to return it. They said it was scratched: the "scratches" wiped away with a cloth. Then they said it was dented and Pono, the sales rep/manager on duty, actually said "You dropped it on the counter." Huh? No, I did not. That doesn't make sense. He lied to my face about something we both know did not happen. He did mention at another point that our conversation was being recorded, so I'm guessing he made that statement for the benefit of the recording. Shady outfit. They knew I was a tourist, and they went for the short-term profit. If, instead of fighting me, they had istened to my needs (I needed a smaller computer), they could have easily upsold me to a 12" Macbook Air or even a Macbook Pro and gotten a positive Yelp review. read more

On a visit from the mainland, my old iPhone 6 died. Audra Did a quick diagnosis and we agreed that it was a goner. She recommended I contact Apple and check with my carrier to see if they could get a discounted phone, but My phone was too old for trade-in, and my carrier, Xfinity is not on the island. I decided to buy a new phone there, unlocked so I could switch Sim cards and boot up my Xfinity service. She took care of everything, putting in the new Sim card, applying my new screensaver, and helping me upload all my apps from iCloud. They were fine with me staying there and using their Wi-Fi as the apps downloaded but after the process started I headed home to finish the process. After a couple hours at home my apps did not seem to be loading so I went back and she and Kaila helped me to disable a VPN that was not allowing my apps to download. Again, they were fine with me staying there and letting their Wi-Fi download my apps and data so I did. They checked with me occasionally to make sure I was progressing. When all was said and done, the phone works fine and all my apps are on it and I can now restart my trip. Thanks Audra and Kaila. read more

So I spoke to the Manager Alex, who told me they did not really have a tech repair person before but they did just hire one and he would fix it right this time. I asked Alex if my daughter could just drop it off, because I was tired of dealing with it and they assured me they had all the information. But when my daughter got there they made her wait in line and said no way. they had the same rude guy fix it as last time and it came back still broken. when I picked it up Alex told me that due to the threatening e-mails I sent I was no longer allowed in the store. When we arrived on Kauai our MacBook Air would not turn on. We made the one hour round trip drive to Lihue on Monday and we were pleasantly surprised that (a) this shop could do warranty repair, (b) they seemed professional, and (c) our Mac might get repaired before departing the island. Pickup would be convenient,right on the way to the airport. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the end. We were told that if apart was required, the repair might not be completed. We were fine with that. Worth a shot. It was clear when we left the store that we were flying out Friday. On Wed, we called the store to make sure they were aware that our flight was leaving at noon. Later, they called to confirm that the repair would be completed on time. It needed a mother board replacement, but free with warranty. Yay!! On Thurs, we called to remind them that we would be in on Fri morning for pickup. They said it would be done. I was placed on hold for 13 minutes before having to call back. On Fri morning we called again, and they said it was done and ready for pickup. We stopped in on Fri morning. The service person got the computer and pressed the power button to demonstrate operation. Nothing. It turns out they did not do the repair and did not even order the part. At least we got the computer back. We would not have minded having the same outcome, but getting completely wrong information multiple times was unprofessional. They may do a great job, but not in this case. read more

While visiting from California my iPhone shut off and wouldn't turn back on. I called to see if they could squeeze us in for an appointment at 4:30pm on a Saturday. Matt was very nice and talked me through some trouble shooting tips since no techs would be available til Monday. The phone turned back on and has worked since. It was super nice of him to help me over the phone since I wasn't a paying customer. If they treat their non-paying customers so well I'm thinking they treat their paying customers the same way! Customer service has been very good from all of my experiences as I have purchased many products from them to include a few computers. However, my last purchase of a Mac desktop was very disturbing...after having my computer for a few months, for whatever reason I needed to check on the memory, I noticed that I was sold an old model! When at the store I asked twice as I wanted to be sure I purchased the newest computer being that I was spending almost 2K. Turns out they had the newest model displayed and I was told I was purchasing the newest but I was sold a 2 year old version without the Retina display that I thought I had purchased. With that said, to my fellow consumers, I recommend purchasing your Mac straight from Mac online. I am a big supporter of local business but unfortunately not at my expense. At the very least they will recognize their mistake and help to corrected. The best Mac Made Easy could do was offer to put my computer on consignment. Not acceptable in this instance. Most consumers like myself is not tech savvy enough to know right off the bat, that's where we put our trust in our Mac professionals right? Also, a few years back I also purchased a new external hard drive from them and when I got home to use it I found a disc already in it with the company inventory files. No big deal, I returned the disc to them and shrugged it off. Couple days later the automatic door stopped working and they allowed me to exchange it for a like model with ease. The staff was so friendly and reset my iPad for me, explained my couple of options, to replace (bc it's really broken) and didn't push me to buyanything. Didn't event charge me for the factory reset. I put 1 star just so that I can post a review. It supposed to be NEGATIVE STARS. To Betty M (owner of Mac Made Easy). Your store and your employees suck especially "Chris" your repair guy. I hope your business shuts down because I had my MacBook repaired from you guys because "Apple Care" recommended Mac Made easy in Lihue. Anyway my laptop was repaired but nobody called me after over 1 week when it was done. I had to call and ask if it was done. There were no protocol to inspect or start up my laptop to make sure it was working or any damage was done during the repair. They just handed me my laptop and said nothing and made me sign their forms. After bringing it home I never used it because we were going on vacation and I was not planning to bring it with me so I just plugged it in to charge the battery. Came back from vacation and decided to use use my MacBook and noticed a scratch on the screen which was never there when I sent it in for repair at Mac Made Easy Lihue. Came in Monday 7 days after I got it back and "Chris" said it was to late to bring back and denied that they scratched the screen. They would not not fix it!!! Happy ending to this... I called Apple Care and they took care of the scratch. I sent it to them and within a week it was back with a "NEW" screen. Don't bring your Apple product to Mac Made Easy Lihue or do any business with them because they are just losers and NERDS that hang out at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in Kapaa playing Board Games. Just be honest........ My wife and I came to Mac made easy because my iphone's battery was getting bad and needed replacement. We were told that to replace the battery, normally the processing time takes 2 days but the guy at the counter told me that they can do it in 2-3 hours that day(Monday May 28, 2018) otherwise they will call and let us know. So we decided to leave the phone. We came to this place at about 2:45 PM (probably earlier) and the time my credit card was charged was at 3:03 PM. The sign said they close at 6:00 PM and the guy at the counter confirmed that. We went home and waited. My wife called at about 5:30 PM (3 times at least) but nobody answered, so I decided to drop by and got there at 5:40 PM but they were already closed. The following day my wife called them to check the status of my phone and ask them why did they not call to inform us that it will take another day. The person on the phone was very unapologetic and rude and told my wife that we dropped the phone late at 4:30 PM to be exact. So I called myself and spoke to Jordan (he said he was not there the day the phone was dropped and denies talking to my wife earlier) and told him that whoever talked to my wife was a big freaking liar and I have proof in the receipt that says the transaction was made at 3:03 PM. He apologized and reassured me that the phone can be picked up right away (thank you Jordan). Honesty and integrity is very important to me and if they only called and told us that they cannot do it I would totally understand but instead they did not call, they closed 20 minutes before their stated closing time and lied to my wife about the time the phone was dropped. Too bad for them the receipt says otherwise. I want to support local business and I don't want to leave negative feedback but I have to, so they don't do it again and for them to improve their costumer service. It will not only help them but also help their costumers. Will I go back there when there's a need? I will because I am sure they will be better (but my wife who was lied about and felt insulted will probably not come back). If the service is excellent, they will get 5 stars. read more

My iPhone 6 failed on a Friday morning. I went to Mac Made Easy and they confirmed my phone was dead and set me up with a loaner phone to use over the weekend. Came here as a last chance hoorah when my husband accidentally fully submerged his iPhone in the stream as we hiked through the Kalalau trail. Thank goodness for Apple Care. So we came here first thing the next morning to try and get a replacement. The store itself is located in a busy intersection in the city. They have plenty of parking in the back parking lot. Talked with one of their associates and explained the situation. He was more than understanding and tried his best to get us a replacement. Unfortunately they have to order their replacements from California. Meaning we wouldn't actually get it for another 3 business days. Fail considering we were leaving the following day. I would think that water damage is a common occurrence in any island on Hawaii. Why would a Apple provider not carry any in stock? Beats me but they really should consider that for everyone else in the future. read more
