I didn't want to write this review because I've personally found that most auto repair reviews come across as an unrightfully so angry customer ranting usually about the price. But since my horrible experience I've had my mother and co-workers experience one of the exact same problems.
I'd been taking my vehicles to this repair shop for about nine months. I'd recommended it to my co-workers and my family. A few months back one of my cars was up for state inspection. I took it to a big box chain auto repair shop for the inspection because it's location is more convenient for me. It failed and I opted to have Mac fix the problems for me, as his price was much cheaper.
When your car fails inspection in my state they slap a failed sticker on the windshield and check off a few extremely generalized box such as "lights", "safety" ,"braking system", "exhaust" .. etc. I failed the braking system and the lights. My lights failed because three of the five bulbs that make up my center back brake light had blown. I replaced them all on my own the night before taking it to Mac's to have him change my brakes and do a state inspection. The sticker was still there. It's illegal to remove it. I checked all of my lights and changed my wiper blades in his parking lot before leaving it as an early bird drop off.
I get a call the next day telling me my back drivers side brake light is out. Bizarre, right? It died within the eight hours it was left in his parking lot? I thought it was odd but brushed it off. I asked if he'd change my oil as well as it was almost due. I come, pick up my car, pay for my brakes, pay for the oil change and pay for brake light.
Two days later a co-worker notices fluid oozing out of my cars grill. It was oil. My engine was covered in oil. They hadn't placed my oil cap back on. I was so angry I didn't bother contacting Mac and took it to the big box auto chain to foam clean my engine. They also checked my tire pressure for me and apparently they all were extremely over inflated. I couldn't remember the last time I inflated my tires. I'm assuming this was done by Mac and not the magical tire pressure fairy. Anyway, they've also forgotten to put the oil cap back on my mothers car and TWO of my co-workers cars. They tried to charge one of my co-workers for cleaning their engine because of it. They also over inflated one of my mothers tires after a patch job. She noticed when picking her car up as her car as a tire monitor system. She pointed it out and he fixed it before she left with an apology. I was actually there for this event. I drove her to pick up her car.
Long story short I'm not sure is place is just careless or purposely trying to cause damage that they'll later charge you to repair. Either way I'll never go back again and I've recanted every recommendation for them that I've given. read more
